Disposable Entertainment is such an iconic piece. I had a head cannon for the themes title:

One of the concepts about the Tower that I like to mull about is that the thing could have psychic abilities - in that it's mental prowess is felt by lesser creatures, hence the Signal and the broadcast. But psychic does not equate intelligence, it's still just an animal feeding off the citizens of the city, functioning under basic instincts - feed, grow, reproduce.

Which was an aspect of the Tower and the Flesh's existence that I referred to as it being so horrifying - it's not something that can be reasoned with, it has no higher thoughts. In my theories, it's better described as a siphonophores - which fits its in game detail as it amasses more of itself by 'consuming' Viewers (humans). It has no agenda or goals or ability to plan what it does, it just feeds and grows.

Like a carnivorous plant releasing pheromones to entice insects, the Flesh manages a radiation or psychosis, which is invisible but the affects are felt. Imagine if the sun was a beast with psychic abilities, and its thoughts alone could burn us despite the Earth being a couple billion light years away. Thankfully, the Flesh beast is much 'smaller' than the sun, otherwise the Viewers might have been vaporized upon its initial presence.

Oh wait....

Ignore that.

To be clear, I adore all interpretations of the Flesh and the Tower in Pale City. But I too like to envision this thing as being nothing conscious - no more than a fungus or anemone.

But I do speculate how the Flesh functions, and why it needed the Broadcaster. Since we do know by the games end that Mono has these reality and world warping abilities, which makes him invaluable to the Flesh. We can call him a conduit, but what does that mean to the Flesh? What does it benefit from having this isopod live inside it?

The Broadcaster provides the most essential function of focus. Because Mono is a "single-minded" child, and as a survivor he is capable of resolve and perseverance - even capable of surviving in the core of the Flesh. Hence he manages the radius and intensity of the Signal, thus the Flesh does not vaporize or maim its food source. So they share a symbiotic relationship, very much like real isopods and siphonophores - except Mono provides a pseudo consciousness for the Flesh, not genuine thought or awareness, but his presence does make the Signal more potent and specialized.

What is as well horrifying, is that the Viewers or citizens to the city were aware something was... amiss. However, the pheromones of the Flesh and its lure was much too enticing to dwell too much about. This may be why children have survived, or are not easily duped by the Tower - children coming into the Little Nightmares world are more leery of these sort of dangers and can sense the presence of the Tower - through the radiation or psychosis it drenches the land with. But these feral children have no way of escaping the Signal (save for the Maw), since they cannot possibly conceive where the danger is coming from or what manifests it.

And then the next scene it shows that Vox didn't block shit and just recreated Alastor's radio on his TVs to rp himself doing literally anything to effect the situation meanwhile, in reality, nothing has actually changed.
