yesterday was a supremely rough day for personal reasons, but i'm trying to stay in the swing of things. worked on separations in lab today, which was fun! i always have to think really hard about how mobile phase and analyte interactions work, but i absolutely love doing stuff with instruments. they're like horses you have to tame

I'm health conscious so I eat leafy greens rich in antioxidants followed by smoked pork sticks rich in oxidants so the antioxidants have something to work on. the 4 humours but it's just 2 humours and they are tofu and cigarettes and you have to find the balance between them.

Chapter 18: Pink Bag Pilgrimage

This day, I was in d e s p a r a t e need to ground myself.

Feeling unbalanced sucks, so I took my cup of Yorkshire tea (today is my 39th day sober from drinking coffee!!!!) sweetened with coconut sugar, a yoga mat and my pink cosmopolitan bag westwards to the meadows of Surrey.

It was strangely freeing to do my exercises out in nature, I absolutely want to do more things like this when I make my fateful return to London.

I was reminded of something that pissed me off in the middle of my workout. I cussed so loudly that the bunnies and the birds cleared the forest... hey, I'm only human, you gotta find the balance between cigarettes and tofu.

Chriiiist, I've become a Lululemon yoga mom since becoming Linus' mom. There is a very thin line now between myself and pushing Linus to join sport clubs over the weekends with a glass of chardonnay in my travel mug, screaming, 'you can do it sweetie!! kick the ball into the goal!!' in my Yankees tshirt - at least that's what I think soccer moms' are like.

I wanted to bring Linus in his little travel cage with me to the meadows since he is one cosmopolitan pup who needs a bit of exposure to the countryside.

'Linus, do you realise that you are one of the most pampered hamsters to ever live in this country? That mouse that scuttled past had to rummage through the forest for his dinner and avoid predators. You get non-GMO, pesticide-free, handpicked blueberries from Partridges, AND I personally PEEL the skin off for you?'

Long story short, Linus had a tantrum when I put him in his travel cage so I decided it was best for him to stay in the cushy confines of his palatial cage. I am not joking, his cage has replicas of paintings by Matisse, Van Gogh and Picasso. He is one cultured pup.

Sometimes I wonder whether I would pamper my pets more than my human children - would that necessarily make me a bad person?
