Ya know with all the inconsistencies and disconnect across all the arrowverse shows— I think it is the funniest fucking thing that they all collectively said: “Power dampeners. Are. BLUE.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
That’s Supergirl, Flash, and Arrow (couldn’t find a Legends example. Also the last one is from the Arrow part of Coex so it counts)

The reason why Dylan O’Brien never joined the Arrowverse like Colton Haynes and Tyler Hoechlin is because God knew he would be too powerful if he had a legion of teenage boys worshipping him as well as a legion of teenage girls

I’ve dragged and ranted about the Arrowverse a lot through the years, and I stand by most of it, but now that it’s over it feels like the end of an era. I was a junior in high school when Smallville ended 😭.

Flash thoughts: A New World, Part 1--Reunions
So it's apparently been almost nine months since Khione announced the pregnancy, that went quick XD
Jokes aside, yeah, that one was real solid. Eric Wallace has almost always done well with Thawne, interestingly.
it was real cool to finally have The Day depicted on our screen. This has always been at the heart of Barry's character--he can't let things go, because of his survivors guilt over his mom's death and his dad's imprisonment.
To let him deal with it head-on, having already learned the hard way a few times he simply cannot change it, and being able to spend time with his parents one last time...it was very poetic, very well done.
And I really like that Barry gave Thawne a chance at an out. But Thawne's petty delusions and his rage that came from it couldn't let him take the path out of his pain.
hell, Barry even apologized for "taking the credit" for his so-called heroic moment., something Barry literally called him out for holding onto that tight in season 8 because of just how petty it is, just to give Thawne the best chance at being able to take that out. But he couldn't do it.
And while it was a little odd to have his Mr and Mrs Allen telling a complete stranger he can stay at their home for a night--not to mention with no concern for their son-- I think it does very much speak to why Barry is the kind of hero he is.
I do find it interesting that the final villain of the show is actually the Negative Speed Force itself. That's a really intriguing idea, and I'm looking forward to seeing how that goes.
I guess a bit of a shorter #FlashThoughts today. just overall, by far one of the better epsidoes this season, and honestly?
I think flash is gonna have a great last few episodes. It should haven been a great last season, especially after last season showed just how great this show could be when the writers prioritize their strengths, but at least it looks like the ending is gonna be pretty cool, cuz this episode shows all the signs of Eric Wallace's better work.
It's an epic Flash event dealing with Thawne and the Negative Speed Force with deep personal and cosmic stakes cutting to the heart of Barry's character by pitting him up against the darkest threats reality can muster.
So we may as well enjoy the ride <3
And hey, at least Grant Gustin isn't a criminal about to be overshadowed in their first headlining feature as The Flash by fanservice. It would be an awful disaster for that to be the case for a Flash actor, don't you think?

This may be a hot take but fuck it, I'll say it anyway -- season one of The Flash may be one of the highest peaks in DC Comics media ever (as in shows and movies, of course).
I've watched almost the entirety of TheCW's Arrowverse, every single DCEU movie, and the DC HBO Max Original (Titans, Doom Patrol, Harley Quinn). And yet, none of them have come close to season one of The Flash for me. The first season of The Flash was exciting, enjoyable and one hell of a ride from start to finish. It had so much hope, it had so many earned moments, it was action-packed, it kept us on our toes, and ultimately led to one hell of a finale that lived up to the hype. Plus, the CGI throughout season one is still better than the rest of the CGI in the follow-up seasons of The Flash. That of course is due to budgetary reasons, but the point still stands. And of course, how can we leave out Tom Cavanagh? Tom Cavanagh was the X-factor in season one. His role as Reverse Flash was so well done and came off as such a threat to Barry Allen that you'd be concerned for Barry! Think about that. In a superhero show where the format consistently led to Barry saving the day, you'd still be worried about what the Reverse Flash's plans were and what he'd do to Barry. And that's all because Tom Cavanagh put this show on his back from day one thanks to his acting skills.
I know this is such a random post and such a random thought but I genuinely mean it. I will always appreciate season one of The Flash. And one day, I'll rewatch it yet again to appreciate the greatness that was that season. Who knows? Maybe, I'll make a video about it, too.
Now run, Barry, run.

Having red death be the final villain for the flash is fucking awesome!! i kinda hope it's the guy who played Bruce Wayne on Batwoman.. he didn't have alot of screen time but i think the actor can pull of villainous bruce wayne.
(Edit: i got spoiled on red death and i like that so much more, so I'm even more excited now!!)
I hope this last season is used wrap up the whole arrowverse because i want somewhat of closure to the legends and Batwoman.
The flash didn't always have the best of writing but for the most part i had fun watching it and the whole of the arrowverse, so I'm excited to see how it's gonna wrap up.

This Wednesday May 24th, 2023 is the series finale of the Flash on the CW...And I don't think I'd ever feel ready to say goodbye.
I grew up watching The Flash it's what got me into the Arrowverse in the first place which led to me watching the Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow then Supergirl came along as did Black Lightning and Batwoman. The Arrow introduced me to John Constantine who quickly became one of my most favorite DC Characters. I've had a love for the Arrowverse for a long time relating to characters, having those funny moments, and going through the heartbreaking moments. Grant Gustin's performance as Barry Allen is one of the best pieces of acting I've ever seen. Yes sometimes the show writers are shitty, but Grant worked with what he had and he gave it his all. I've had the great honor of getting to meet Stephen Amell, John Barrowman, Colin Donnell, and Juliana Harkavy once before at a Convention. I hope one day, I'd get the opportunity to meet Grant or anyone from the Flash and just say the impact this show had on my life. It's been a wild and crazy ride these last 9 seasons and for the Arrowverse as a whole since it began. It's hard to see something you really love go, but the time has come and the final run is approaching.
I wish all the actors, actresses, and crew involved in this show the best on whatever journey they move onto next in their lives.
Now, Run Barry Run!

Unpopular Opinions: DC Edition
Tumblr media
Olicity shouldn't have happened. Here me out.
Don't get me wrong, I was a huge Olicity shipper before it actually happened. I loved the idea of the nerdy girl getting the guy, and for some reason, I really loved Felicity, but as the show went on, the writing for her and the series just went downhill. Now it is so clear that Emily and Stephen had GREAT chemistry on the show, which is probably one of the reasons, or really THE REASON, why i did ship them. But when they got together, you just saw that they were TOOO different, and they didn't make sense. And as the show went on, it became more focused on them, and as they went on, the show went down. It seemed like a majority of the fan base hated them, and felt THEY ruined the show, (even though there were multiple problems with this show.) I didn't feel like they ruined it, I just like making a majority of the show about them, wasn't right.
And as for Felicity because the writing for her wasn't getting any better, it was either you loved her, didn't care for her, or hated her, and no one really cared for her backstory and her personal life, and like before her backstory did not match with others, and we were getting more of it later, and it's like why are you doing this? We don't care! Now Emily was really good with what she gave. She gave Felicity this charm that made her not only relatable, but also adorable, at first, but maybe some probably were annoyed with her for this, thinking they made her "not like other girls," and that doesn't make the characters cool, it makes them cringey, like we get it, you're quirky, you're different, we get it.
And even though i very much liked felicity, i hated her babbling, and it pretty much so did everyone else, fans and other characters. And some could say that about Felicity in general, she did not fit with the rest of the team, and really the show. she just didn't match with the rest of the cast, and the tone of the show. And they made her made in a somewhat weak character, she seemed in some ways like damsel in distress, who was always crying, and getting mad at Oliver for stupid reasons, and then the writers made it more focused on their bad relationship, which is not comics accurate, by the way, and then Killing his actual wife, and mother of his child from the comics.
I think Olicity only made their characters regress rather than progress. Honestly, maybe they could have worked as a couple if the writing had been better, really showing how their relationship brings out the best of one another, but that just didn't happen, or at the very least, they tried to, but it didn't feel earned. I think what should have happened, was Oliver and Felicity, having ONE one night stand, and they both realize, although it was satisfying and they don't regret it, it will never happen again, and they are better off as friends.

nothing like being a felicity smoak enjoyer in the arrowverse days (she was gen one of my favourites in arrow lmao) and having to deal w the overall misogyny and negative attitudes towards her character for simply being human and existing most of the time.
