one of my favorite things about zedaph is that on a server full of people that find strange and oft-overlooked minecraft mechanics or rare events and then see just how far they can push them in the name of spectacle or efficiency or world-breaking, zed is over here finding these mechanics in order to do the weirdest things he can think of in as entertaining a manner as possible
like i 100% have faith in zedaph's theoretical ability to be just as efficient or spectacular or world-breaking. if he wanted to do that stuff, i trust that he absolutely could. but thats so far from being his priority. instead, hes going to spend around a week of irl time focused entirely on eventually having the good luck to spawn in something insanely rare so that he can convert it into something even rarer, the result of which being something that 99% of the server reacts with complete and utter shock that it even exists in the first place, just because its zany and funny and he wanted to. and i love that

im sooooo sick of neopagans thinking they invented stuff that literally every religion thats not modern american evangelicalism already has 💀 i dont care if u want to light candles in ur bedroom or whatever, but even when youre swinging at “normie” religions ur still missing like okay catholics LOVE altars. jewish liturgy celebrates moon cycles. whatever youre trying to articulate about an all encompassing divinity of universal love was probably said in verse by a persian muslim centuries ago. your american christian/atheist background is a huge outlier in the global history of religion: it’s not even that you’re missing some niche exception, it’s literally that your entire perspective on “organised religion” is based on an outlier 💀

reading through the regulation proposal for dog breeding and welfare in norway and this is pretty detailed and looking pretty good
the most revolutionary parts, however, are:
- specifying that anyone whose dog produces a litter is considered a breeder
- anyone breeding more than 2 litters must register with authorities
- set requirements for knowledge and competency re: canine reproduction and hereditary (and detrimental) traits
- requiring documentation, recordkeeping, and registration for both "organized" and "unorganized dog types"
a lot of the specific welfare and competency requirements are in line with NKK's existing guidelines. the big difference is that these things (if they pass) will a) cover all dog breeding and not just what's already governed by the NKK and b) actually be enforceable by law.
tbh a lot of this reads like a crackdown on puppy mills and raising the expectation of mixed breed dogs closer to that of pedigree ones.
