What do you think about Horror x Lust

That used tò be my favorite ship till like 2 months ago I think that the contrast between a scary looking murder and a a femboy gives It a very funny aestetich and I also see the dinamic of 'the world hate us,but we love eachother' kinda dinamic wich is really cool

in the middle of the first season, team tikki is still my favorite. I really like that corto has flaws, that she isn't just this perfect all talented girl, and that she still needs to learn, that she is brash and confident, but still trusts others and wants the best for her friends. And mouse is so adorable oh my, AND ENKI I love this nerdy boi. Kinda mad about his lips tho, french animators should at this point really know better.

Next are team Tao and Mirages.

Tao are also one of my favorite characters, especially Sun, since we got to know him a little more and better. He's so gentle and caring and just such a cinnamon roll? Ngl I really like him and corto as a ship. Mirages are also really interesting, even tho they are kinda the villains. I like Adam, he's a little cunning boi and I love that about him, but I especially like Hannah. She's great. She doesn't like Corto but there is some respect in that. She will do things according to her judgement and what she wants to do, even tho it's hard for her. I also ship her with corto, i think they would be an interesting duo.

Then the Cold Kings - there is not much of them as of now but I really like Manta - anger issues baby boi - and i can't wait to have him show up more in season two. Also, it's a spoiler, but I'm really looking forward for his and cortos relationship. Corto has a thing for Sun, we know that, and Manta is the polar opposite. It could be really interesting if done right and tbh? I think they look cute togheter, ngl

Pirates are cool, obvi, and I like their connection with Mouse. I think it's very wholesome. And characters with black circles under their eyes always have a bonus for me.

Team starfish - again, with the lips thing, they should do better. But it's a really cool concept, they are just doing it to become more popular. And they argue all the time? That's good, it brings some interesting dinamic. Plus, I love Debbie's design, her hair are so cool!

The sirens are interesting, bc even tho they use the good guy's tech - aka the genies and whale tech, they also are kinda the bad, mean guys. That's fun. Also brings something interesting to the table

Last but not least, the Bee team. I care about them the least, but still they are fun and I like their motives!

I've heard that the finale is quite shocking and I can't wait!

I am a shipper, so I enjoy most ships tbh, even Luffy and Nami with different pairings such as ZoLu and ZoNami or LawLu and LawNami. LuNami is my favorite, of course, because I really love their dinamics and connection, but besides that I really like ZoLuNami and ZoSan.

But honestly, I could go on and on about ships I like. ZoTash, MiShanks, Shuggy, Shanks/Makino, Law/Robin, UsoKaya, Sabo/Koala, Crocodile/Mihawk, Crocodile/Mihawk/Buggy, Sanji/Viola, Sanji/Pudding, Sanji/Usopp, Iceburg/Paulie, Kidd/Killer... you get the point hahaha if I see nice art of it or a compelling fic, I'll probably ship it in some capacity, even crack ships.

Le Radeau de la Méduse, 1819, Oil on canvas, 491x716 cm, Paris, musèe du Louvre

Theodore Gèricault was a french painter, from the Romanticism movement.

From a wealthy family, in 1798 he moved to Paris where he attended the atelier of Vernet and then Guèrin, but his training and stile was heavily influenced by Gros and the study at the Louvre of Flemish, XVIII century Dutch and Venetian painting. In 1816 he traveled to Italy, where the study of the works of Raphael, Michelangelo and caravaggio greatly influenced his mature style.

Back in Paris after the italian grand tour he met Delacoix. One of his last travel was in Englan, in 1821, where he learned about the free, non academic painting of Constable and Lawrence. With this knowledge he contributed to the overcoming of the academic tradition in France.

In addiction to his production of studies, painting and lithographs, he modeled some interesting figures in wax.

The painting: Le Radeau de la Mèduse

Painted in 1818, was presented at the salon in 1819, a controversy painting, for the fusion made with romantic dramatic intensity between classical composition and dynamic rapresentation of reality.

The subject of the painting was a rather dramatic event in the history of the french navy. In 1816 the Meduse, a frigate, set sail from the cost of France to reach Senegal. Arriving in sight of Cap Blanc, the inexperience of the captain prevented the recognition of a infamous, but rather known sandy bank off the coast of Mauritania. So the ship tilted to one side, the captain and all the equip tried to save the ship, but every attempt failed. The only thing remained to do was to abandon the ship and reach the cost of mauritania. With only 6 lifeboats they had to set up a makeshift raft. On it boarden 149 man and 1 woman. It's a dark story what happen next, fights boke out, there were suicides, murders, desperation and cannibalism. After 13 days adrift finally what remained of the draft was spotted, of the 150 people, only 15 were found alive, wich five of them died during the night of the rescue.

In 1817 two survivors wrote a book telling what happened during those 13 days in the ocean.

And here it's were we start talking about the painting.

Gericault decided to paint all the shades of physical pain, moral anguish in the mass of people on the raft, from the father in foregroud, intoxicated by the pain of losing his son, to the men who are trying to make themself more visible to the ship in the backgorund. The gugantic dimensions and the epic style were finally used to rapresent the sufference of normal people. The scene is a romantic metaphore of human life, in perpetual struggle with adversity and destiny divided between despair and hope, life and death.

The scene is constructed onto diagonal lines with two arriving ponts, one is the raft shaft, the other the shirt blowing in the wind. Theres a muvement, a vertical tension to the horizont. The wind blow in the opposite direction, moving the raft away from salvation. The red accents of the light onto varius object make the drammatic scene more dramatic.

The painting is romantic in his intent and subject, but his form is classic, the drawings define the bodies, the chiaroscuro define the dinamic. The bodies are like heroes and atlethes, organaized in a piramid structure, at the point of the pyramid theres a body that remainds of the belvedere torso, an antient statue very known during the neoclassicism period.

When i was 13 i read about this event, without realizing it, one of my favorite book is Ocean sea by Alessandro baricco, an italian wrtiter, who described what happened on the raft in the middle of the book. Five years forward i was studing art and i came across this bauty, and i hiperfixated on it (as one does) and now the book, wich already was one of my favorite just made more sense.

I intent one day to elaborate that in the Gotham TV Show Penguim and Riddler relationship (my favorite) works as a perfect narrative foil to the Dynamic Duo. Their dinamic while very different in nature (if you ship Riddlebird in Gotham you have eyes, if you ship Dick and Bruce you need therapy and pls block my account) has some key similar aspects to Batman and Robin (specially Dicks Robin) and it makes imagining this two duos facing each other an amazing experience. 1-First ship I can remember has to be Joey/Mai. I didn't realize how much older Mai was when I was like 6-8 years old and watching the 4Kids dub and now I see them more as bros. They are still cute tho ❤️

13- Most Shippable character for me is probably Kaiba but it's because I'm biased and he's my favorite. I ship that bitch with almost anybody. 😂

18- Guillty Pleasure ship is hard for meeeeee. I can't really think of anything. At one point it might have been Honda/Kaiba but I've seen so much support for that ship lately that it makes me feel way better!

I'll start with my favorite Canon couples

Wei Wuxian x Lan Wangji (MDZS)

MXTX invented romance when she wrote SVSSS, and perfected it when writing MDZS. The fact that WWX is my favorite character ever helps too. They are a perfect couple, I love them. Love them with their kids. Give them all the kids.

Luo Binghe x Shen Qingqiu/Shen Yuan

Are they problematic? Yes. But it's not like MXTX didn't notice some things LBH did were kinda messes up. It's a flawed and interesting relationship, but they truly care about each other so much. LBH is my second SVSSS character, and that "I hate myself for not being able to get anybody to stay" line always get me. And that Q&A extra is perfect, an underrated gem. I'll write a post about it someday.

Tianlang-Jun x Su Xiyan (SVSSS)

My third and fourth favorite characters from SVSSS. We didn't have much of them, but what we had was great. An ambicious, cold and ruthless human woman and a carefree, romantic and kind of naive Demon Emperor, how can someone not love it? The Demon Emperor acting as the classic, steryotipical, romantic young donzel, and the human acting as a Young heir from a rich family. She takes him to plays, buya gifts and essencially act as his sugar mommy. Love this dinamic. Also the teasing between them. Not to mention all the angst.

Michaela x Clarith (Evillious Chronicles)

The sad tree lesbians. The most wholesome relationship in EC. Do I need to say something else?

Amy Santiago x Jake Peralta (Brooklyn 99)

Yes, I'm aware of the problema of this show, but I still live their relationship. What's worthy to point out is the fact that I didn't ship until they actually got together. There wasnt anything special before, seemed really cliche that they would get together. But I love their dynamic when they're already together. Mostly because I was afraid it would fall into that trap where the writers doesn't know what to do with the couple and how to keep the story interesting, so.they start to include unnecessary love triangles, cheating, drama, and so on. Avoiding this made Peraltiago really refreshing

Zazzalil x Jemilla (Firebringer)

Rivals to lovers. My first Canon gay rivals to lovers. And both of them had valid points of view that seemed opposite, but actually needed each other to be complete

Lelouch x Shirley (Code Geass)

Yes, from all the girls who are romantic interests for Lelouch, I ship him with the most normal one. But It just gave me the vibe that Lelouch wanted to be with her. The tragedy is that he coudn't, even if she didn't die. She was part of a "normal" life that Lelouch had to gave up of in order to achieve his goals.

Now, for my fanon favorite ships

Gai x Kakashi (Naruto)

I talked about my love for Rivals to Lovers. But what about Rivals AND Lovers. Gai got close to Kakashi after Kakashi lost everyone he had loved, took him from that state of loneliness. And they were showed together at chapter 700, showing they remained close and that their relationship is important.

Sal x Larry (Sally Face)

Their friendship was precious and perfect. And, in my defense, they were not step brothers when I started shipping it. And I completly missed the HenryxLisa happening in the backround when I first played.

Sal x Travis (Sally Face)

I know, I know, the "homophobic bully is actually gay" is a cliche by now, and a problematic one. But there's some merit to the Idea of a gay teen being raised in a conservative family and being emotionally damaged for that. It's a thing that happen. Assuming that every homophobe is secretly gay is wrong and takes away the blame of the people opressing us, but internalized homophobia exist. And Travis was just a teen. Also, I'm soft to the Idea of Travis falling in love with someone who's kind, rather than someone who's atractive. I think a lot about that note he wrote.

Zuko x Sokka (Avatar: The Last Airbender)

I can't really explain, but I love this concept so much

Cassandra Cain x Stephanie Brown (DC comics)

My girls. I love them so much. Every scene of them together is a treasure. Their personalities match so well. Also, batfam is the best part of DC, and I won't hear any argument saying otherwise

Lapis Lazuli x Peridot (Steven Universe)

I loved their relationship living together,they were so cute.

Bruno Zero x Gallerian Marlon (Evillious Chronicles)

I love them and I love them together. Bruno is underrated and Gallerian is my favorite from the seven sinners.

Lukana x Lilien x Rajih

They are in a Poly relationship and I'll die on this hill. I love the three of them traveling together trough the world and raising a child.

Xue Yang x Xiao Xingchen (MDZS)

Another messed up ship, but I can't help being captivated. XY feel for the first person who showed him kindness and that gives me feelings. There's Also this line from A-Qing

“They used to often night-hunt walking corpses, sometime in the past. Now it’s usually ghosts, animals that behave weirdly, and so on.”

XY did horrible things, I can't find the words to describe how twisted it was how he tricked XXC into killing inoccent people. But this line from A-Qing implies he stopped. On his own. That doesn't take his blame away, but it's worthy noticing. He stopped, he showed no signal that he would have told XXC the truth If SL had not showed up and A-Qing found out the truth. Even after killing SL, he seemed to have the intention to come

back to his pacific life, only when It was all already falling apart he told XXC the truth, but only after trying to get XXC to sympatize with him.

Liu Qingge x Original Shen Qingqiu/Shen Jiu

Rivals to lovers is great. All the misunderstandings that tainted their relationship. LQG judged quickly and SJ refused to fucking explain himself even when he really should. LQG saw the world in black and white, and SJ was too gray. LQG was absolutely loyal. Once someone has his loyalty, he would fight the most poweful being alive for that person. He would fight over and over, despite knowing the result. He would start a war with one of four great sects. And I'm sure there's nothing SJ would value more in a partner than someone who would never abandon him.

Original Luo Binghe x Original Shen Qingqiu/Shen Jiu (SVSSS)

I said in previous posts that I believe Bingge loved SJ and that they were originally meant to get together, before Airplane shifted the genre for money. But that's for it's own post. SJ is my favorite SVSSS character. And this ship has some much potential, to dark fics, to angst, to fix-it fics, there's variety.

Favorite thing about them: Beside the fact that i love the sea and i love mermaids, what is interesting about this character is how she mixes curiosity and sense of wonder and adventure with romantic sensitivity and altruism: she enjoys hearing stories about human beings, going to the surface to see them, she wants to know what it is like to have an immortal soul, she falls in love with a human who may give an immortal soul to her, she becomes a human, then let go of her love and goes to live another journey of self discovery in the sky, as a Daughter of the Air.

Least favorite thing about them: The amount of phisical suffering that the story puts her trough, first in the in universe tradition of putting twelve oisters in her tail to show she is a mermaid of high rank when she becomes 15 years old, then having her tongue cutted out (wich most adaptations change to be a magic potion that takes out her voice) and always feeling she is stepping in swords and bleeding when she walks and dances as a human. I just want to give her a hug and say: “Good Lord, Andersen! Chill!”

OTP: I ship her with happiness, health and safety while knowing that her hearth belongs to the Prince. And in the Let’s Pretend radio show and the Fairy Tale Theater series adaptations, it is implied that she falls not only for the Prince, but for the Princess who is betrothed to him, and i like that relationship dinamic.

nOTP: Any of her sisters or the Sea Witch.

Random Headcanon: The Fairy Tale Theater series gaved her the name Pearl, and that has become my name for her. Her five older sisters are called:  Shell, Seaweed, Coral, Anemone and Sea Star.

Unpopular Opinion: I enjoy Disney’s Little Mermaid 1989 animated movie as a in name only retelling, instead of an actual adaptation. As such, i think we need to avoid comparing the Andersen fairy tale to the Disney animated movie, because really, they are different beasts that deserve being analyzed in their own therms, one as a masterpiece of literature and the other as a masterpiece of filmaking.
