Carmen Sevilla (La fierecilla domada/La mégère apprivoisée, La Venganza, King of Kings)— One of the few spanish actresses to really make it in Hollywood. She worked opposite Charlton Heston in the 1970s and reportedly slapped him but that is past the cut-off so you can look it up for yourselves. There's also rumors that Frank Sinatra had a bit of a crush on her and asked her out a couple of times but she rejected him. The woman was just messy as hell in general and an absolute icon. Bless.

Holliday was also an incredibly smart Jewish leftist, who played the ditzy blonde part again when pulled up by HUAC for 'communist sympathies'. She never named names and managed to avoid getting blacklisted. What a queen. She also had an incredible and unique voice and one of the best smiles in the business.

Hobbies: Writing, Drawing, Graphic design, Gaming (DA, Minecraft, d&d), Listening to CR and MBMBAM, pacing for hours while thinking and daydreaming of fic ideas but never writing it down, baking and cooking weird shit with food/ingredients/supplies I have as a poor ass college student, binging youtube, blindly guessing my way through NYT crossword puzzles, linguistics and creating conlangs, sewing, various crafts, pretending to do hijab/niqab tutorials in the mirror, laying facedown on the floor after prayer.

Favorite Color:  Purple, probably, closer to maroon or wine or burgundy color.

Favorite Book: Man, that’s always hard. I think one of the most like, formative books of my teenage years was Ash by Malinda Lo (Amazon calls it “The haunting, romantic lesbian retelling of Cinderella” what’s not to like. plus instead of a fairy godmother there’s a hot somewhat unnerving faerie dude). Recently, I read The 6th Extinction by James Rollins which was cool. It’s hard to find books now and days that cater to my tastes but I have a shelf full of sci-fi books bcuz I go to old book sales and buy a bunch for super cheap. It doesn’t always turn out great, given how many are so painfully catered to straight white men, but they also bring utterly absurd funny things like a sci-fi/eldritch horror book I was reading that more or less had a scene that involved kinda like... astral projecting nudes? and that was my discord name for a while

Last Song I Heard: I’m literally listening to music while I write this, current song is summer depression by girl in red. Now it’s playing Loki by The Mechanisms and man the whole album The Bifrost Incident (which is kinda like. a purely audio musical re: storytelling and narration) fucking slaps.

Last Film I Watched: Ooof, uh.... Moonlight, maybe? I watched that recently, I don’t watch many movies lmao. It was really good. I also saw one of the MCU Spiderman movies with my younger siblings recently. I don’t watch a lot of films but I did binge all of FMA:B while sick the other week, you know like an adult.

Inspiration For My Muse(s): My own trauma lmao. Writing for a while has been a way to process shit I’ve been through so here we are! Most of my charas have been through similar traumas as me along with having similar experiences with stuff like racism, islamophobia, xenophobia, homophobia, transphobia, etc. As far as a lot of stories I write go, exploring magic and its mechanics is a big source of inspiration. I always especially like stuff like eldritch horror and various folklore I heard growing up (the fair folk, la lechuza, djinn, etc). One of my favorite things to do really is worldbuilding or expanding on canon stuff- like stuff I’ve done with my ideas of blood mages and spirit healers for example. I also, speaking of magic, love looking at different uses for magic, especially magic as an aid for disabilities. If you ever want to just hear me ramble, hit me up and ask me about Ngiachpaun bcuz I’ve poured a lot of time into the worldbuilding and magic systems there lmao.

Dream Job: Honestly? No fucking clue. I’m a software engineering major so some sort of job with that. I originally was looking at game design but tbh i have Absolutely No Idea. I like STEM stuff (I originally wanted to go into medicine or neuroscience) but boy are there way too many men here. Ideally, I’d like a job I can incorporate my artistic abilities and my programming. And you know, one where I can just be a niqabi in peace.

Meaning Behind the URL: I changed my url a few years ago (in a mild panic in the wake of an abusive relationship) and kinda tried just throwing together a lot of words and interests of mine. Eventually, I settled on The Eldritch IT Gay, as a kind of play on “The IT Guy” but you know, gay and intangible. I’ve never been good at urls tbh, my last one was based on a kin and special interest. On a lot of my accounts across stuff I have just like. My legal ass name Ciarán (that’s my battletag), or in the case of I think DMs Guild and Epic Games or w/e my name is أمال عفريت which is Amal/hope ( أمال) and demon/ifrit ( عفريت). Why you ask? no clue tbh, i never know what I’m doing. My first ever username was jenna449 which came from me hastily googling white people names when I was like. 10, and on Quizilla. The 449 was half of my lunch code in elementary school.
