Well. You only live this one time and The Folk of the Air is my favorite series to have ever been written so I think I deserve to splurge on my sad self sometimes so I just went and pre-ordered that Collector's Edition Cruel Prince.

so i’ve been sketching out plans to do a little bookbinding project— a handwritten compilation of some of my all-time favorite poems, thematically arranged. maybe illustrated a little too.

unfortunately i feel like this task is slightly cursed, because the last 2 times i actually got down to work on similar projects (more scrapbook-y things with letters, journal excerpts, + my own poetry as well), the person i was making them for almost immediately broke up with me. both times!! if i do this one for me do you think i’ll break up with myself :/

WHEN THE HYPERFIXATION

#I just got home off a plane today bc I’m out of classes for the summer #and my first stop after home was the library bc I had to check out the Hobbit for the first time bc watching the movies is apparently #not enough anymore and also I’ve read most of the Kíli fics I’m interested in (and others I wasn’t) #but so I went to the library and they didn’t have the original B U T #they DID have the annotated version!! which reading it now seems more appealing #it’s got little illustrations!! and contextual annotations!!! #and whenever a quote I recognize comes up it’s like yoooo!!!!! I’ve see u before!!!!! #I read 32 pages (so just the first chapter) but that’s 32 more than I’ve read passionately in an Actual Book #in like. I don’t remember the last book I enjoyed much since sophomore year of high school #so nearly 4 years ago #and I wanted to get back into reading this year so I’m really excited!!!!!! #it’s also interesting seeing the like. usage of Words #and context #anyways #short prince 🏹

i am so deeply invested in the taylor jenkins reid literary universe because i smile every time a character from one book is mentioned in another

#reading malibu rising. probably the book ive been most excited to read in a WHILE #because i feel like i havent been INVESTED in a book in awhile #well i read far from the tree by robin benway a few weeks ago and was pretty invested in that #but ya idk i just needed something i knew would make me excited to read #something with a STORY u know #i feel like i haven’t updated yall on my reading in forever #after it i read far from the tree and loved it (Cried sooo much too) #then i read the jungle by upton sinclar and was surprised by how much i liked it and how diff it was from what i expected #oh during all this time i was listening to educated by tara westover which was just spectacular and i loved it #truly have such high praise for it like i wanna find a physical copy so i can annotate it and just be able to display it on my shelf #which the other other audiobook ive ever wanted to do the same for was know my name (one of my top books of 2021) so.. that says it all! #then i read nine perfect strangers by liane moriarty which was just fine #my least fav from the 3 ive read tho the only one to make me cry?? the end was sweet idk #idk it was slow to start and i found most of the characters annoying but not annoying enough to dislike fjjejxwkd #actually i also did laugh out loud a couple times too but STILL idk it just wasnt giving what i needed it to give #i need to stop chasing the rush from big little lies she gave me #ok and now on audio i’m reading #the five: the untold lives of the women killed by jack the ripper by hallie rubenhold #liking it so far tho sometimes i find it hard to pay attention #and ive just recently started both notes on a native son by james baldwin and malibu rising by tjr #like less than 30 pages into both 😭 #my reading this summer has been very blah but im hoping to turn that around soon #mine #reading

help, i kind of accidentally gave permission to my mom to read books from my library and i immediately regretted it

#ive been annotating my books for over a year so im trying to talk her out of reading any of these books #like one of them she could like but every few pages i was talking about when the 2 female main characters would get together (they didn't) #in another one i have written an entire paragraph about SEX! so thats also a big no no #and then there are the osemanverse books which im trying to tell her are for younger people #bc most importantly almost all of my annotations in loveless are 'same' #and ive annotated all of them very personally #also my family doesn't even know i am annotating my books #how do i get out of it? im trying to give her the non annotated books but im worried she might go take one of the others while im gone #jo says stuff #personal ramblings

BOOK REVIEW 📖

Last year I kept track of the series & films I watched; this year I've decided to keep track of whatever books I read! So this one is for the month of January – I'll share these sometime after the month is over, or if I read more than one book during the month, I will do their reviews as soon as I finish the book :)

#ben picks up reading again #dania rambles about shit #should note that this is not spoiler free (don't give much context but still) #i would read it again just to catch all the parallels and symbolism #chose to read this on libby bc of the option to highlight and keep notes in one spot bc jfc I would've annotated tf out of a physical copy #doing this completely from my phone and made my own little template because I couldn't find any good ones for free #what else ummmm oh right this is like a basic answer/question and I ramble off topic but still within some type of margin #read that fanfic I recommend really since I feel like it's better written aka maybe I just like it more bc it has a happy ending #and it includes all the same problems that the characters of the original book went through (for the most part) #anyway 4/5 stars and not 5 bc like I got tired of clare's pov bc it felt like there was no different between #the varying ages we get once we reach her at like 12 and up #henry also affected this bc like he's likable but so stupid and shouldve studied paradoxes or something to solve his problems #again rambling it needs a fix it but blah blah not really their suffering is a main point of the book :) #yeah so structured like a traditional one but I focus on not so traditional aspects bc I have a way of analyzing things #as if I have an essay to write on it lmaooooo #these are handwritten bc I like to keep track in case it worsens due to my cubital tunnel affected wrist #(im a righty; lefty on the other hand has carpal tunnel but that only affects when I do hand on projects like pottery or painting) #I'm giving free trivia/lore about myself here lol
