No anon, since you’d know it was me anyway. XD I wish you’d write a fic where Loki and Wanda both realize the other’s affection for children. :D

I am going to attempt to NOT set this in the KiE-verse, because challenges are good for the soul. XD

So I would have this be post-Statesman arriving on Earth (Thanos whomst?), and I feel like Wanda would instinctively need to go there, to help. She knows what it's like to lose a home and a country and a family, in a way that most of the other Avengers don't, and she's been laying low with Vision for a while and she just decides that it's time to do something. Besides, no one in Asgard knows that they're supposed to be afraid of her.

Meanwhile, Loki's keeping a low profile in Norway; it's just common sense. Thor might be very popular on Earth but his brother isn't. (Actually, Loki's a complete unknown on Earth at large. His name and face weren't generally broadcast in the wake of the Battle of New York, so really the Avengers and SHIELD are the only people on Earth who know who he is.) He lets Thor do the politicking and Heimdall the diplomatic stuff, and leaves the organizational matters to Val. He takes over seeing to the people -- they know nothing of his past, and they saw him fight to save them. They still look to him as their prince.

So Wanda goes to New Asgard and Val asks what she wants to do. "I can help with the kids."

Which means that Wanda and Loki work together a lot. Neither of them really know what to expect (because Loki's understandably suspicious of anyone who Thor knows from his time with the Avengers, and Wanda's wary since she does know a little bit about him from Steve and Clint and Nat) and neither of them are entirely sure that the other should even be allowed around Asgardian children (Loki because now those are a precious commodity and Wanda because see above).

There's initially a lot of circling around each other and a lot of aloofness. This starts to thaw after Loki notices how eagerly the kids all run to greet Wanda after she's been away, and how they are always demand hugs and comfort from her after they skin their knees. It thaws more when Wanda realizes that all of the tricks that Loki plays for the children, even the most chaotic-seeming, are entirely harmless, and he's always willing to take a kid onto his knee or onto his shoulder, even if it looks like he's not paying attention. And finally the rest of the ice melts when a flu-like illness attacks New Asgard, laying all the kids low, and Loki and Wanda spend about two weeks in the infirmary, taking care of the sick children, practically not sleeping, and trading off shifts in the different wards.

In a very short amount of time, what ends up happening is that because so many of the children in the settlement have lost their families, and they're unable to really confide in any of the other humanitarian aide workers who come to New Asgard, they all end up adopting Loki as their new dad and Wanda as their new mom.

idk if this is a controversial take but i wanna get my thoughts out so here we go

im a little tired of stories for women where their whole plot point hinges on their dad in some manner. I go through it a lot with lara cause the reboot games are just like...that, that’s her whole thing, and it was a thing for her throughout LAU too and you know I’m just tired of it in general. and with gamora, it’s not that i think she trusts or that she even loves thanos, but there’s more to her relationship with him. 

tbh, the early comics don’t support her outright hating him. feelings can change over time, you can see the past and how you grew up differently as you get further away from it because we’re better able to process what happened with an adult lens, but even gamora when she’s older has a sort of...distant but almost affectionate comradery with thanos. she trusts him in a limited capacity, because she understands how he thinks (the example I can think of off the top of my head is that she’s working with him in Infinity Abyss and she voices her doubts about if he’ll betray her and he says ‘you are integral to my plans’ and she’s like, ok good enough). or there’s a part in Infinity War where they have a friendly sparring session and tbh it’s...kinda cute ?? idk... hell he even makes a comment about adam being her boyfriend and it came off so dad-like i was shocked

I tried to start reading civil war 2 and immediately got tired with how they make gamora so laser focused on fighting thanos and peter afraid of pissing her off about him. then they say that she’s tried to fight him several times before this moment but something always goes wrong. none of that was shown in a comic ok, I have read all of them up until that point, i assure you, and did not see any of this. in the comics, the gamora and thanos relationship to me reads more like tell rather than show. one panel even said ‘friends had died trying to help her with [thanos].’ and im like WHOMST??? i think the last time she interacted with him herself before that moment with thanos imperative and she wasn’t even trying to kill him herself then. 

...I realize after typing this could be a reference to richard in the cancerverse but it implies multiple friends. and I don’t think that...like it implies that the relationship was already changed and that richard stayed to defeat thanos partly because of he knew gamora wanted him dead, but that was never really shown before annihilation ??

basically, I think I’m gonna have to really look at and rework my thoughts on her past and how she grew up, what she thinks of it, etc. I still don’t think she’s going to be particularly upset if/when he dies, thanos still has a lot of bad things he does in the universe, so when someone kills me she’s fine with it, but...it wasn’t all bad for her. a lot of this hinges on thanos’s goals tho, and it’s why when I write thanos I’m going to very selective about his interactions. he’s just one of those characters who a lot of people have had a hand in and wrote him in a lot of varied ways that, when you look at the whole, it doesn’t make sense, imo

The best goddamn part: Tom Holland is told Absolutely Nothing About Anything. He's just released onto set like a horse in a hospital and expected to deal.

Because he'll spoil Everything the second he hears about it smh the fool

But also because. it's just really fucking funny to mess with him.

His script contains two lines:
