#kacytober: OCT31 - halloween
🎃 👻 🎃👻🎃👻🎃👻
Lucy and Kate walk through the street party, their eyes alert as they search for their suspects – a group of crooks trying to clean dirty money through the import and export of fine gemstones. It has NCIS and FBI working together, but it is not an easy task. With Halloween celebrations in full swing, they are struggling to see people’s faces behind their masks and elaborate make-up. They know from the computer records that Ernie was able to hack that the group recently bought a host of superhero villain costumes, which narrows down their search – but then they aren’t the only ones to have done so. Jesse has already taken down a fifteen-year-old dressed as Thanos by mistake and earned a telling off from the kid’s mom.
“In my defence, he was tall!” Jesse says through the radio, earning him a chuckle from Lucy.
“This feels impossible,” Kate says, her eyes darting about.
“We’ll find them,” Lucy says nonchalantly. “And if we don’t, at least we didn’t miss out on Halloween.”
It had been Lucy’s idea to dress up, pointing out to Tennant that, even if they don’t show up in their NCIS uniform, wearing civilian clothes would also bring attention to themselves. It had got competitive quickly. Jane is dressed as Cruella De Vil, while Jesse – with years of experience in creating Halloween costumes for his kids – has come as Beetlejuice. Kai is dressed as a voodoo witch doctor, with make up so intricate that even Lucy is jealous. Ernie didn’t get the memo and came as… a science geek.
Lucy was the one who insisted that she and Kate come as a duo, which is why she is dressed in a pinstripe suit and bowtie, with her hair tied back in a tight pony tail, and sporting a carefully crafted, thin moustache. The Morticia to her Gomez, Kate is dressed in a long, figure-hugging black dress. She refused to let Lucy dye her hair, so she is wearing a black wig, her face pale and her eyes dark.
Kate scratches her head, the wig irritating her scalp.
“Stop doing that, you’re only making it worse,” Lucy says, grabbing Kate’s hand and holding on to it.
“I feel stupid.”
“You look hot.”
Kate does that half-smile thing, like she’s trying to be serious but is feeling a little flustered by the way Lucy has barely stopped looking at her ass all evening. She glances down at her girlfriend, who – despite the unusual facial hair – looks sexy as hell in a tailored suit that Kate can’t wait to rip off her as soon as they get home.
“There!” Lucy says suddenly, bringing her out of her daydream.
“Hmm?”
“That guy there, dressed as the Joker, he’s limping. Didn’t Tennant say that one of the suspects had been in a motorcycle accident recently?”
Kate looks over to a shifty-looking guy who is talking to someone else dressed as the Riddler. To anyone else, they look like two comic book geeks who have come dressed as their favourite Batman villains. The two men share a look and drop a package behind an apple bobbing cart, nodding at the young woman who is busy chatting to the public, who slides it into a bag with the flick of her right foot.
Lucy calls it into the team using her covert radio and they quicken their pace to tail the two suspects. The man dressed as the Riddler looks over his shoulder and catches them, whispering something into his companion’s ear.
“Shit,” Lucy says under her breath. “Come on, Whistler, we’re on.”
Lucy launches forwards as the two men start to run, with Kate close behind her. They weave amongst the crowd of scavenger hunters, cutting behind the children trying to catch monsters with a stick and a hook from a large pool of water, and catch up with them by the big wheel. Lucy takes the Joker, using all her might to rugby tackle him to the ground, while Kate grabs the arm of the Riddler and spins him, using her other hand to punch him in the stomach. He doubles over and she uses the opportunity to knee him in the groin. He falls to his knees and Kate grabs his arms, pulling them behind his back. She looks over at Lucy, who is still scuffling with the Joker. She is pinned to the ground and the Joker raises his fist, but Lucy is nimble and she jerks her leg upwards in a kick. He moans as she connects with his groin and pushes him off of her, rolling out from underneath him. She quickly catapults herself on top of him, one knee balanced precariously between his legs to stop him from fighting back.
Jane appears moments later, her gun drawn. Jesse and Kai follow her, handcuffs out, and they secure the suspects, who become docile once under arrest.
Kate walks over to Lucy, who is still on her knees, and holds out her hand, pulling her up to standing.
“Ugh, why do they always run?” Lucy grumbles as she brushes the dirt and dust off her suit.
“Good job, you two,” Jane says as she walks over to them. “The boys are gonna take them back to base.”
“Did you get the girl at the apple bobbing stall?” Kate asks.
Jane nods. “And the two waiting in the parking lot. All five suspects under arrest.” The crowd around them starts to dissipate. “Why don’t you two stay and enjoy the rest of the party? Lucy, you can write up your report tomorrow. Kate, I’m sure Curtis will say the same.”
Giving them leave to enjoy the Halloween festivities, Lucy and Kate walk hand in hand towards the water, where a row of silly games are set up. A spooky version of whack-a-monster is a popular choice for children and adults alike, and they dodge the crowd.
Neither of them are in the mood for games, preferring just to enjoy each other’s company as they take in the joy and fun that surrounds them.
“You know, when we were kids, Noah used to prank me every Halloween,” Kate says as they walk. “Stupid stuff like a fake spider in the shower or eyeballs in my breakfast cereal. One year, he left a bowl of jello on top of my bedroom door and, when I opened it, it landed on my head – just as I was getting ready to go out to a party with my friends. I could have killed him!”
They both laugh.
“We weren’t really into pranks,” Lucy says, thinking about her brothers and sister. “We’d decorate the house with skeletons and cobwebs and pumpkins that we’d carved ourselves, but it was all about trick or treating for us. We used to have a competition to see who could come home with the most candy.”
“And who used to win?”
“Me, of course,” Lucy says with a grin.
“But you don’t even like sweet stuff,” Kate points out.
She always complains when Lucy insists they get the salty popcorn when they’re watching a movie together.
“I like you,” Lucy says, which makes Kate chuckle. “I especially like you in that dress.”
Underneath her make up, Kate’s cheeks turn pink. Even after all these months, she still blushes whenever Lucy pays her a compliment.
“You wanna go home?” Lucy says.
Her tone tells Kate exactly what she is in the mood for.
“Yeah, I do,” Kate says. “But first…”
She tugs Lucy’s hand towards the photobooth.
“…let’s get some pictures. I wanna keep a memory of these outfits before we have to return them tomorrow.”
Lucy smiles to herself as she follows obediently. She didn’t mention to Kate that they didn’t come from a rental place. These outfits are theirs to enjoy whenever they want.
And Lucy does have a thing about Kate with dark hair.

Summary:
A year has passed since the Snap. As you look to find a fresh start in life, you end up in the wrong place at the wrong time. A small cult dedicated to the newly revitalized Norse religion chooses you as a sacrifice with the belief that this will give Thor and the other gods the strength to undo what Thanos has done. What you don’t know is that human sacrifices come with a powerful magic — those who are sacrificed become linked with the god they have been given to.
It’s been a millennia since a human was sacrificed to one of the gods. You’ve been bound to Loki.
CHAPTER 17
You
“WHERE IS LOKI?” You screamed, tearing through the halls of Folkvangr to find Odin and Frigga.
Your shouts caused Vikings to peek their heads out of their bedroom doors. Heads following you down the hallway.
“Odin! Frigga! I need you NOW!” You fought the tears that were stinging your eyes. He had left you. He had put you to sleep and left you here after you expressly asked him not to. You went through all of this together and he left you. And all he had to say for it was a note with two words on it.
You had no clue how long you’d been asleep for, but judging by the light outside it didn’t look like it’d been long. But that probably didn’t matter considering Loki was probably back on Earth right now. Odin must have let him leave – he relayed the message from Idunn, after all, about her apples. He wouldn’t have done that if he didn’t intend to allow Loki to defeat Thanos.
You should have predicted this from the god of mischief, that he would pull one over on you. Loki didn’t take kindly to hearing no. Normally, it would make your heart soar to know that he cared so deeply for you, to leave you behind in order to keep you safe. But right now you were too pissed. You went through all of this together and you were expecting to see it through to the end with him.
Running down the halls, you continued to call Odin’s name. You checked his throne room, the dining room, and so far, no results. This blasted place was too big. Then, you remembered you didn’t have to run all over the place; you could conjure portals. Perhaps you’d find him easier then.
Despite your anger, you found a way to calm yourself momentarily and willed yourself to different parts of Valhalla. After a handful of tries, you entered the courtyard and found the Allfather sitting on a bench, talking to a raven perched on his arm.
The magic took more wind out of you than the running did, but you ignored that. You could rest later. After stepping through the portal you approached the Allfather. The raven on his arm turned its head to you and squawked, taking off from Odin’s arm and flying away into a nearby tree. Odin straightened the golden sleeve of his robe and addressed you.
“I hear quite a ruckus you’re causing through my halls, girl. I’ve already received some complaints,” he said calmly.
You stopped in your tracks. “You knew I was looking for you?”
“It would be quite hard not to know,” the Allfather replied.
“Odin, please. The more time I waste, the more likely Loki gets into trouble. I need to be there because if there’s any way I can help –”
“I’m sorry, but I cannot help you get to Earth. We swore to him that we would keep you here, safe.”
“We?”
“Frigga, Heimdall, and myself.”
You groaned angrily. The raven in the tree crowed three times like it was laughing at you. You’d heard stories about Odin and his ravens. They were intelligent creatures; his messengers. It probably heard and understood everything right now. You ignored the bird.
“So, you can’t help me,” you said, deflated.
“I made a promise to my son,” Odin replied. He gave you a sad look, like he wished he could help.
You sighed. “Fine, then I’ll find a way to get to him myself.”
Loki
Each of the Avengers were split into teams to recover the six Infinity Stones. Loki was assigned to go with Thor and Rocket back to 2013 to recover the Reality Stone in Asgard. Loki was on this mission partially because he knew his way around Asgard, but mostly because the heroes expected Thor to keep his brother in line. It took a lot of convincing to allow Loki to go back in time at all. Steve, Clint, Natasha, and Tony put their collective foot down because they believed the last thing they should be doing is allowing Loki to go back and meddle with time.
However, Thor eventually calmed their nerves and convinced them that Loki was being genuine, and reminded them of all he went through to get here. It helped a little, but still did not completely calm their nerves to put so much trust in the trickster god. As a compromise, they agreed on a magic-suppressing brace to be placed around Loki’s neck. Getting the brace on Loki also took a lot of convincing from Thor.
“They’ll only allow me to travel backward in time if I wear a collar?” Loki asked, taking a step back from his brother.
“Come on, Criss Angel, just put the brace on and we can go,” Tony said. He held the contraption in his hands.
The god of mischief eyed Tony up and down, eyes squinted. He looked between Tony, the collar, and his brother. He didn’t care so much about his magic being suppressed – well, he did, but he could deal with it. Loki more didn’t trust the fact that Stark created this contraption. For all he knew, it could be a trick because they still didn’t trust him. Maybe it also meant to subdue him, or control him, or something worse.
“Come on, Loki. Take too long and we’ll just leave you here. What’s it gonna be?” Natasha asked.
The god groaned. He approached Stark and held out his hand. “Fine, give me the damned thing.”
“I have to affix it myself,” Tony said.
“Of course,” the god remarked sarcastically. “Then get to it, and watch how tightly you put it on.”
Stark pulled apart the collar so he could fit it around Loki’s neck. “Don’t try anything funny, you hear?”
“Wouldn’t dream of it.” Loki rolled his eyes.
Tony stepped up to Loki and fit it around Loki’s neck. He snapped it closed, pulled out a device from his pocket, and pressed a button. A noise sounded from the brace much similar to the one of a car being locked.
“Heh, Loki’s his bitch now,” Clint remarked to Natasha, who had a smirk on her face.
“The indignity,” Loki muttered under his breath.
The god felt the connection to his magic to grow weaker. He could cast, it just would not be very strong magic as per Stark’s words. Loki also disliked the touch of cold metal on his neck, but other than that he was able to move his head around freely. His thoughts felt coherent and his senses were as sharp as ever – still, he didn’t trust any device created by Stark intended for him.
“Shall we?” Loki asked with mock eagerness. He was more than ready to get the Infinity Stone if it meant he could remove this accursed thing.
After some more teasing was had, the heroes got into their suits to prepare to travel through space-time. Each individual was given their vials of Pym Particles. Then, it was time to make the journey.
In their suits of red and white, the heroes stepped up onto the platform of the machine that would allow for them to pass back in time. The three scientists had worked tirelessly on this project, and it was finally time to put it to the test. The setting sun shone through the windowed-wall, illuminating the room in a warm golden glow. Wires, briefcases, boxes, and other various items were strewn about everywhere, showcasing just how much hard work was put into creating this device and how many hours, resources, and ideas were thrown at this thing.
With Bruce behind the control panel, at the helm, it was time. Everyone on the platform outstretched their arms toward the center as a gesture of solidarity.
Steve spoke, addressing each person in the room. His face was stony, yet hopeful.
“Five years ago we lost. All of us. We lost friends, we lost family… We lost a part of ourselves. Today we have a chance to take it all back. You know your teams, you know your missions. Get the stones, get them back. One round-trip each. No mistakes, no do-overs. Most of us are going somewhere we know – that doesn’t mean we should know what to expect. Be careful, look out for each other. This is the fight of our lives, and we’re gonna win. Whatever it takes. Good luck.”
“He’s pretty good at that,” Rocket remarked, glancing up at Scott.
“Right?” he replied, jabbing his thumb toward the man who gave the incredible, yet solemn, pep talk.
“I’ve heard worse,” Loki remarked, glancing at the first Avenger with a sly smile.
“Alright, you heard the man. Stroke those keys, Jolly Green,” Tony spoke.
“Tracking’s engaged,” Bruce spoke, tapping the keys on the console. One last button, and he joined the rest of the heroes on the platform. He hit the back of his wrist, engaging his suit.
“See you in a minute,” Natasha said, a giddy smile on her face.
The machine whirred. The hundreds of metal pieces on the ceiling moved and swirled, then expanded wider and wider. Below their feet a large, orange hole opened up, not much unlike the portals Loki conjured himself. It grew bigger until it reached the size of the platform’s floor, and each person was sucked inside.
Loki, Thor, and Rocket Raccoon split off from the rest of the group, traveling through the quantum realm. It reminded Loki of the Bifrost, yet stranger. Colorful, but not as vibrant. They weaved in and out of different timelines until finally they were brought to Asgard, one decade prior.
As always, Asgard stood brilliantly, the rays of its sun bounced off the golden palace; a beacon of power, wealth, and prosperity. They weren’t far from the palace. Just a few minute’s walk. Surrounding the three heroes was a square of hustling Asgardians, buying their bread for the day, or talking to friends they happened to run into. Beautiful marble buildings adorned the streets of homes, businesses, and libraries.
“Nice place,” Rocket noted, staring up at the impossibly high pillars and statues of Asgard’s mighty structures.
“Just don’t steal anything,” Loki replied.
“I wasn’t gonna! Okay, maybe just pick a pocket or two...”
“Stick to the plan, creature,” the god said.
“We’ve already been over this. I. Am not. A creature,” Rocket said angrily. He made sure to enunciate the word ‘creature.’
“We don’t have time for this,” Thor interjected. “Come on.”
Thor led the way, with his brother and Rocket in tow. At the moment, Jane was kept in a room for protection while the Reality Stone resided within her. Rocket held the device created by Stark that would pull the stone out of Jane’s body.
They creeped past the dungeons. Rocket pointed at Loki in a cell, flipping a metal cup in the air while he laid in bed.
“Is that you?” he addressed present Loki.
“Yes,” Loki said, stopping for a moment. He took a step forward, glimpsing at his past self. “Did I really look like that?”
“I dunno, I think you look just as ugly now,” Rocket shrugged.
“You two, come on!” Thor whisper-shouted.
They continued on their way, making it through the dungeons and just now entering the hallways of the palace. The three ensured they were concealed as they discussed the next steps.
“Here’s the deal, tubby,” Rocket said, addressing Thor. “You’re gonna charm her, I’m gonna poke her with this thing and extract the Infinity Stone and get gone lickety-split.”
Suddenly, Thor shuffled to the other side of the pillar he was hiding behind. Rocket and Loki ducked behind a nearby one. In one of the nearby corridors, the Allmother was walking with some of her handmaidens, instructing them to bring Loki food and books to his cell. She was wearing a turquoise dress and shoes, and her hair was put up elegantly; all exactly the way she was when the princes saw her last, before Maliketh’s attack.
Rocket spoke. “Who’s the fancy broad?”
“That’s my mother…” Thor spoke just above a whisper, his voice croaking. “She dies today.”
“Oh… That’s today?”
“Yes,” Loki said. “Brother, I met mother, you know. In Valhalla.”
Thor looked to his brother. “You did?”
“Yes. She’s okay. She’s with father. They’re in Valhalla together, as they were meant to be.”
Thor became silent. His eyes wandered in another direction, thinking to himself. After a moment he nodded his head.
“I’m glad,” he said silently. The god of thunder cleared his throat a few times. “Thank you, Loki. That makes me feel better.”
“Let’s go get that Infinity Stone, then,” Rocket said, motioning his head toward Jane’s room.
As planned, Thor went to see Jane and distract her while Rocket stuck her with the device that would extract it out of her. Loki, disguised as a guard with his illusion magic, relieved another guard of his post and waited outside the door until they were done.
It was quick, and then the three of them all warped themselves back to the present. They appeared at the Avengers compound, back on the platform of the time machine. Within milliseconds, every other team warped back as well. They were gone for what probably was hours, but came back literal seconds later. The sun setting over the horizon hadn’t budged an inch. It was strange, it almost didn’t feel real.
There was celebration when everyone returned with their assigned Stones. Earth’s Mightiest Heroes were one step closer to achieving what should be impossible. But the celebration was short-lived when Clint came back without Natasha. His face was gaunt and his eyes held anger, loss, and despair. He was shaking. When he was finally able to compose himself, he explained what had to be done to gain the Soul Stone.
Loki, Rocket, Nebula, Rhodey, and Scott let them take their time to grieve. In the meantime, they quietly went about their business. Loki used this time to sharpen his daggers. Even though he barely knew Natasha – in fact, they weren’t on great terms at all considering he threatened and attempted to kill her during the attack on New York – Loki did hold respect for her as a warrior and even as a trickster. He didn’t know her, but the loss indeed was great.
His thoughts wandered from the loss of Natasha to the loss of you. To his dismay, Loki kept replaying the moment in his head over and over of the moment the fire giant ship shut its doors and he was forced to watch them take you away. He also kept thinking about when Jorun held you in his grip a second time and grinned as he burned your skin, taunting Loki to make his next move. These thoughts haunted him, and they were the reason why he could not allow you to come with. You were fragile, soft, and too good. He’d already lost you once before and he’d be damned if he let it happen again. It pained him to deceive you like that. At that moment, he wanted nothing more than to make love to you – but unfortunately it was the perfect time to take his leave. That’s when lies are most effective, when trust is in the equation.
He just hoped you could find it in you to forgive and trust him again.
When they returned back to the compound Loki said a few words to Clint about how commendable Natasha was as a warrior. He nodded solemnly. Although it was clear the Avengers, and Clint especially, needed more time to truly process their grief, it was time to get the plan moving.
Since the Infinity Gauntlet no longer existed to channel the stones, the heroes created their own version of it using Stark technology. Now that all six stones were in their possession, they could put their gauntlet to use. The scientists carefully inserted the Infinity Stones into the Nano Gauntlet, and all six gems of infinite power glowed in their places, five on each knuckle and the mind stone on the back of the hand.
Loki held two once – but all six, that kind of power was unfathomable. And he would take it for himself if the circumstances were different.
It was time now to choose who would use the gauntlet.
“It’s gotta be me,” Bruce said, interrupting Thor and Tony’s conversation. Thor was insisting on being the one to wield it, but sighed and stepped back.
“You saw what those stones did to Thanos,” he continued. “Almost killed him. None of you could survive.”
Bruce approached the Nano Gauntlet.
“How do we know you will?” Steve asked.
“I don’t, but the radiation’s mostly gamma,” Bruce replied. “It’s like… I was made for this.”
Bruce picked it up, cradling the gauntlet in his arms as gently as possible.
“Good to go, yeah?” Tony asked, glancing up at Bruce with folded hands. His eyes were worried, caring, and determined all at the same time. It was really about to happen.
“Let’s do it,” Bruce said.
“‘Kay, remember, everyone Thanos snapped away five years ago, just bring them back to now, today,” Tony instructed. “Don’t change anything from the last five years.”
“Got it.”
Each of the heroes readied themselves for the power surge that the gauntlet would create. Steve put up his shield, each of the armored heroes activated their helmets, Thor stood in front of Rocket, and Tony employed his Stark energy shield to protect Clint.
Loki protested, “Hello? May someone undo this brace from my neck already? Preferably before he snaps his fingers?”
Tony cleared his throat. “F.R.I.D.A.Y., deactivate Loki’s brace.”
“Deactivated,” the artificial intelligence spoke neutrally.
The brace unlocked and fell from Loki’s neck. He caught it and threw it to the nearest garbage can. A loud thunk was heard as the collar hit the bottom of the bin.
“That’s a fifty-thousand dollar collar that you just threw in the trash,” Tony said.
One of Stark’s many robotic helper hands activated and fished the brace out of the garbage. It placed it back on the table in the center of the room.
“Wasn’t a fan,” Loki replied dryly.
“Alright, for real this time,” Bruce said impatiently. He looked at Loki before addressing the rest of the room. “Everyone ready? It’s time.”
“Yes, yes,” Loki said.
Helmets and shields were put back up, Thor stood in front of Rocket, and Loki - now with magic back at full power - conjured a transparent blue bubble around himself.
Bruce and Tony nodded at one another.
“F.R.I.D.A.Y., do me a favor and activate ‘Barn Door’ protocol, will ya?”
“Yes, boss,” the AI responded. Each opening and window in the room, and in the entire building, was barred by thick, metal walls to protect the outside world from what may happen.
“Everyone comes home,” Bruce said under his breath, and prepared to slide his hand into the gauntlet, which rearranged the metal pieces to his size. The gauntlet grew bigger and bigger until it wrapped around Bruce’s right hand and arm. When it finally stopped and clicked into place, the glove surged with power - all six colors: purple, blue, red, orange, yellow, and green electrified Bruce’s arm.
“Ungh!” Bruce groaned. He fell with one knee to the floor. The electricity crackled throughout the rest of his body and he was forced to hold the gauntlet with his other hand.
Everybody in the room watched with awe and horror as the strongest man in the world was forced to his knees, barely keeping himself from falling to the floor. He groaned, and the gauntlet’s power surged even more as he tried to get his bearings. Flames ignited, burning his arm and eating through the sleeve of his shirt. The green skin of his bicep was singed to red. He moaned in pain and sweat beaded his forehead as he tried to keep up with the power.
“Talk to me, Banner,” Tony said in between Bruce’s groans.
Bruce furled and unfurled his fingers. Through his grunts of agony he was able to say, “I’m okay… I’m okay.”
Loki watched in horror and curiosity at the awesome power of the Infinity Stones. He didn’t know how much longer the scientist could last.
The end of the gauntlet was burning too. Smoke emanated from it and Bruce’s arm, and a surging sound came from the gauntlet. Bruce groaned even more as he tried to stand, lifting his right hand with his left. The colorful lines of electricity creeped up to his neck, and he screamed as he forced his two fingers together until they finally snapped. Then, everything stopped, his eyes rolled to the back of his head, the gauntlet clanked to the floor, and he collapsed.
Everyone rushed to Bruce’s side.
“Did it work?” he asked. His face was contorted in pain and he squeezed Steve’s arm with his left hand.
The metal doors retracted open, and Scott looked out the window to see a congregation of birds flittering around a tree. Loki watched a deer sniffing the air carefully. Clint’s phone buzzed on a nearby table.
Then the blast came.
You
Even if Frigga did swear an oath, you didn’t care. You set out to find her. Odin told you that they swore an oath to keep you here, but that didn’t mean you couldn’t ask questions, and from what you knew from the little time you spent with Frigga, she wasn’t as cut and dry as Odin was with rules. She was sneaky like her son. Perhaps she would help you, even if indirectly, or so you hoped.
To your luck, you found Frigga in the first location you went to look: the willow tree where you had first met. Instead of being underneath the tree, she was standing in the center of the pond. The water wrapped around her legs, her blue dress billowed around her knees, and her hands were interlocked as she seemed to be chanting something. As you approached, you saw that her eyes were shut while she conducted her meditation, which explained why she hadn’t greeted you yet.
You opened your mouth, but Frigga spoke first.
“I know what you’re here for, child,” she said. Her eyes opened and she dropped her hands to her sides. The goddess picked up her dress and waded out of the pond, then cast a spell to dry her skin and the hem of her dress.
“Then help me if you can, please,” you replied desperately.
“You’ve already spoken to my husband, yes?” Frigga asked.
“Yes,” you said.
“Then you should know your answer. I’m sorry, dear.” She was genuine in her words, you felt her sympathy. Frigga even cupped your cheek with one hand.
“Odin told me you made an oath to keep me here. He never said anything about making an oath to not answer my questions.”
Frigga smiled. “Well, that is true. I can answer questions from you within reason.”
“There’s gotta be a way I can get back to Loki. Something, please,” you said hurriedly.
“Within reason, I said,” Frigga reminded. “If I just tell you right out how to leave here, I’m not holding my oath up very well, am I?”
“Aren’t you worried about him? It’s Thanos! He needs as much help as he can get.”
In the background, amongst some trees, a rabbit went into a hole.
Frigga’s smile faded. “Of course I’m worried. Loki’s my son. What do you think I was just doing in that pond?”
You looked past Frigga and to the pond behind her. You tried to recall the chanting, but it was so faint you really couldn’t make out any words. Well, no, that was a lie. You actually remembered one word in particular, the Asgardian word for ‘see.’ You heard Loki mention it once or twice during your lessons with him. It dawned on you.
“Were you scrying him?” you asked.
“Yes, I was,” Frigga said, and her smile returned. “You’re a sharp one.”
“And what did you see? Is he okay?”
“Unfortunately, scrying on someone on another plane of existence is difficult to achieve, unless you’re Heimdall,” she chuckled to herself. “I saw glimpses. He’s with his brother and the Avengers. I heard something about a plan to go back in time. I don’t know how they plan to do so, however.”
“Back in time..?”
It was then that you felt a sharp flash of adrenaline shoot through your veins. Anxiety and survival instincts flared up within you. You were in danger. You shouted, searching your surroundings, expecting something to come jumping out from the trees, or a threat to swoop in from the skies. But nothing, nothing happened.
You hadn’t realized that you fell onto the grass. Freya was currently holding her palm to your forehead. She had conjured some sort of soothing spell on you. It felt nice and cool to the touch. Sweat beaded on your forehead and in your palms. You were also panting. You tried to control your breathing.
“Can you hear me now?” Freya’s expression was one of concern.
Everything your body told you right now was ‘imminent danger,’ but your senses were telling you otherwise. It was still a sunny, crisp day on Valhalla, with birds chirping peacefully in the background. So why did you feel so panicked? Why were chills of instinct and reaction going down your spine?
Loki.
“It’s Loki. He’s in danger!”
“How can you tell?” Frigga asked, retracting her hand from your forehead.
“I felt immense panic come out of nowhere. It has to be the bond, it’s telling me that something is wrong, Frigga. He needs my help!”
You looked to the Allmother for answers. She couldn’t keep this stupid oath if it meant her son – no, if both of her sons were in danger. A mother wouldn’t abstain from helping her own children if it meant their deaths.
Frigga glanced at her surroundings and leaned in close so her head was just inches from your own. She lowered her voice.
“I’ve taken an oath, but I can tell you this: your bond to him is the key to getting back to him.”
The goddess stood up and extended her hand out to you. You took it and got back to your feet. You still felt adrenaline pumping through your body like you were supposed to run, hide, or fight, but it had to be ignored for Loki’s sake. Whatever you were feeling right now, he was actually experiencing somewhere on Earth. You had no idea what he was facing, whether it was Thanos or something else, but you felt in your bones that any move Loki took right now could be his last.
“Thank you, Frigga.”
“I believe in you,” the goddess said. “But I can’t help you any more than I have. The Allfather will not be happy if he finds out I’m here with you, so I must leave, but know that my heart is here with you, darling. My heart is here with you and my son.”
“Thank you,” you repeated. You gave her a quick hug before she conjured a portal and departed to somewhere else in Valhalla.
You sat down under the willow tree, crossing your legs underneath you. Loki used the bond to save you in your time of need, and now it was time for you to do the same. Like Freya did when she meditated, you closed your eyes and tried to take in the magical energy that surrounded this place, as well as the magic and the bond inside you. Using that, you did your best to steel yourself despite the screaming emotions within you that something terrible was here.
Letting out a shaky breath full of adrenaline, anxiety, and love, you spoke.
“Hang in there, you bastard.”

FAQs
Can I play a character who isn’t in the MCU?
Marvel has a plethora of characters, many of whom have not made their cinematic debut. We allow comic characters on the site as well. You have creative freedom — all we ask is you fit them somewhere in our timeline, use a real face claim to portray them (not illustrations), and make sure they align with existing characters on the site of whom they're closely connected.
Are Disney+ and Netflix shows canon here?
If the show took place pre-Infinity War, it is considered canon on our site. Think: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D seasons 1-5 or the early seasons of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, etc. Anything that took place post-Infinity War and post-Endgame is not canon here. That includes Wandavision, Loki, TFATWS, Hawkeye, She-Hulk, etc.
Same for movies. Anything that takes place post-Endgame is not considered canon. This includes Spider-Man: Far From Home, No Way Home, Multiverse of Madness, Thor: Love and Thunder, etc. If the movie came out post-Endgame, but the plot took place before Infinity War, it is canon. Think: Black Widow.
My character was introduced after Endgame. Can I play them?
Of course! If your character was introduced post-Endgame (read: Eternals, Shang-Chi, Moon Knight, etc), you're still allowed to bring them to Revival. Feel free to take inspiration from their source material — comic, movie, and/or show — and adapt them into our timeline. Remember you are only fitting the character's background to the timeline, not their post-canon plot events, as those did not happen in our timeline.
Can I make an original character?
Yes! You are free to create an original civilian character or an original villain character. We are not accepting original hero characters. NOTE: Your original villain character IS allowed to have powers, but they must be simple powers. We don't allow all-powerful beings like Ultron, Thanos or Kang.
Do I have to take part in subplots or site events?
Subplots are meant to give our players established plotlines to jump right into. If you already have an idea you want to explore, you're free to do so. Think of subplots as a suggestion, rather than a requirement.
There are two types of events on Revival: community events and plot events. Community events are centered around our player base. Plot events push the site's plot forward. When it comes to participating, both of these are optional. Be aware that even if you choose not to participate in plot events, it doesn't mean your character is unaffected by them.
What is the “threat” mentioned in the site plot?
In order to keep the mystery and intrigue, we've decided not to outright say what the threat is. Think of our plot as a slow burn. Clues will be revealed through future plot events. It'll all come together in its own time.
Can my character be from the multiverse?
We know the multiverse is a popular plot point for Marvel right now, however, we are not a multiversal site. We are not accepting "variant" characters nor are we exploring multiverse plots.
What if my character isn’t based in New York?
No worries! While the Compound is open for all hero characters to reside, your character doesn't have to live or even operate out of New York for them to be accepted on the site. We welcome plotting in all parts of the world or the wider galaxy (looking at you, Guardians). Just note that the majority of our subplots and events take place in New York, so while your character does not need to live in the Big Apple, they must be able to travel there.

Act I, Track 02 - Where will you go?
Song links: Spotify - YT Music - Apple - Tidal
Today we meet our protagonist, Seth Thanos, the Antichrist, played by the tenor Thomas Vikström, who has been the main male singer of Therion since 2007. Only Seth isn't the Antichrist yet, in fact he's a Christian... in a way.
Tumblr media
Promo photo of Thomas Vikström by Mina Karadzic
The album inlay describes Seth as follows:
Born of a Russian mother and a Greek father coming together in Berlin. From the very beginning known as a wonder child and distinguished as a top student in school. His parents both died from disease early in his life and never lived to see him graduate. Haunted by grief he began studying medicine to battle certain diseases while also studying theology in search of a fundamental spiritual meaning in life. With time he has fully embraced the path of Christianity and become a religious outsider communicating with God directly, regarding himself as the second Son, brought to Earth to redeem mankind where Jesus did fail.
"I've studied now Philosophy, And Jurisprudence, Medicine,— And even, alas! Theology..." - Seth is a highly educated mystic who sees himself as the second coming of Christ. He has been part of a Christian community despite his "outsider" status, but in this track he bids his parish farewell and indicates that he has new plans. He also doesn't seem entirely happy with the world.
[Seth:] Woe to you, earth and sea Who may hold the lock and key? Lift from me infant smiles Chase the sleep from my newborn eyes
I assume the last two lines mean that he thinks he has only just started to see the truth, woken up, outgrown his infancy. But what has changed? We will see soon. For now, his fellow parish members caution him:
[Parish members:] Eyes with the light of true disciples Turn to behold your new way Where will you go, beloved brother Into the judgement day? [Seth:] Lamb of God, names divine Rise but soon shall decline Stars of old raise their spears Crack my shield, pierce my tears
[Parish members:] Dark is the night that leads from heaven Floating on light - a true hell Hear, can you hear a choir of angels Bid you a last farewell
Seth seems to disregard the warning of his congregation, which doesn't approve of his straying from the Christian path. We will see where his own path takes him.

TW OC Info
Name: Gingey Phantom (prefers to be called Ging)
Gender: Male
birthday: Dec. 20
height: 196 cm
Pronouns: He/Him
Sexuality: Pansexual
Species: Kitsune
skin color: warm ivory
Number of tails (bc kitsune): 8
Age: 26,203 years
Age looks: 21
Unique magic: shining wealth (creates gold that is completely weightless and hard to destroy, which he made armor for his dimension’s soldiers)
Eye color: Orange
Hair color: dark purple with a single yellow streak
Hair style: two block cut
Clothing aesthetic: classic, royal
Extra details: dark purple wings and a long scar that starts from his left cheek to his right hip, he has one of his ears pierced. His earring is a fang from his twin brother.
Personality: mostly laid-back but has energetic moments, flirty, mischievous, prankster, loving, violent at times, protective, not very territorial, fun loving, slightly romantic.
Favorite food: Black Dragon Sushi, citruses
Favorite drink: Coffee, orange juice, tea
Least favorite food: apples, bananas, salmon, lobster
Least favorite drink: milk, apple juice, vitamin drinks
Favorite weather: sunny and snowy (depends on current mood)
Dorm: Ramshackle (info in side bio)
Role: Ramshackle vice (info in side bio)
Why not facts: he has poisonous acid-like blood that is a purplish black. (That of course does not affect him.) and immunity to all poison. (Since he is technically not “alive” and is made entirely of corrupted magic. I also feel like corrupted magic is poison. So Ging is literally living poison and magic) Riddle theoretically can easily kill him due to Riddle’s magic disabling another’s magic so Gingey’s whole existence would die bc if something is made entirely of magic and if say the magic was stopped/disabled, the object would disappear. If Ging got collared by Riddle he would probably have a very painful and slow death as he tries to cling to life. Just imagine every single one atom of your body moving away while conscious and feeling it happen. Definitely won’t be fun. Ging would either 1) melt into a puddle of corrupted magic. Or 2) basically Thanos snapped out of existence but slower and more painful.
Dislikes: sudden loud noises, sudden quick movements, Vil, his twin, Crowley, being treated above others.
Likes: art, singing, dancing, music, reading, baking, picking in Sebek.
Neutral (both likes and hates): Rook, Jamil, Kalim, water, Crewel.
Fears: Purple butterflies. Just the purple ones. Other ones are fine. From trauma. He fears them due to trauma. Riddle’s unique magic
Family: 30 siblings. His mother (often called mother phantom)
nicknames for others: Crowley referred to as ‘The Pigeon’
Backstory: he was created along with his older twin brother from corrupted magic by his mother whom he affectionately calls Mother Phantom. Ging was praised for being the most powerful creation from corrupted magic but he did not really care for that. His mother chose Ging to be the heir of his mother’s dimension for being the most powerful. The one thing that Ging ever wanted was approval from his twin that was jealous of him.
Ging constantly lied to himself that his family was great and nothing was wrong with it. He would refuse any help stating that ‘nothing is wrong, why would I need help?’.
Ging was pleased and filled with hope once his little sister was born and was a more successful attempt on making light with corrupted magic. Unfortunately for him, he still got the most praise with him being the strongest of his siblings.
he got his scar from a fight to the death with his twin brother because his brother attempted to kill his little sister so Ging stepped in and was forced to kill his twin. He wears his brother’s fang as a trophy since in his home it it tradition to wear a trophy made from your opponent’s fangs, bones, claws, ect.
Ging originally went to RSA but was transferred to NRC.
When he arrived at NRC he kept his status a secret along with his who mother was. Ging hoped that others thinking he was not important that others would give him respect for his personality and skills other than his status.
Side bio: him being in Ramshackle was picked bc me and my friend believe that Ramshackle is basically for characters that are not based on a Disney character.
Him being the Vice for Ramshackle was also decided by my friend for their oc also being in Ramshackle and Yuu being the house-warden. My friend and I talked about if our oc were in the same dimension Ging would prob be the one looking out for him and having the most leadership skills therefor would make a good/decent vice.
Floyd’s nickname for Ging would prob be either Sea Sheep (since they create and acid like substance and are mostly calm animals) or Orca/Killer whale (for the symbolistic meaning which is “family, romance, longevity, harmony, travel, community and protection.” For Gingey’s protective, loving, slight romantic personality… and his age.

How many Avengers can dance on the head of a pin?
I used to care about time travel continuity. I still do, but fortunately I have now developed a mental "TIME TRAVEL RULES" switch I can flip at will. The two settings are: (A) logical, (B) narrative. Only a few movies/series have even attempted (A), and most failed. But the vast majority of stories with time travel are in Category B, where the solution to every paradox is "because it was funnier that way"(*).
Avengers: Endgame is clearly in Category B since when testing the time suit, Ant Man turned into a baby with all his adult memories, which is something that can never ever ever ever ever happen in Category A. (Not to mention that multiversal variants now exist with identical phenotypes even though we know that changing *any* event has a very good chance of changing the DNA of *every* person born after that moment across the entire planet.)
So as much as I enjoy picking at continuity scabs, I know it's all just like medieval theology: rationally iterating the implications of something based on magic can never make it rational.
My head canon: Steve changed the timeline, did everything y'all think he should have done with Bucky and Zola, bought IBM stock in 1945, became a billionaire, bought Apple stock in 1985, became a trillionaire, then hired Variant Tony and Variant Hank Pym to build a magic timeline transporterator that sent him back to that bench in 2025.
Or he really did stay in the main timeline, out of sight, because he knew that changing anything would lead to one of the 14M timelines that Dr. Strange saw where Thanos won and nonillions of people died forever and even saving Bucky in 1945 wasn't worth that risk.
Whatever, man. They're just going to retcon it in the next Disney+ series anyway.
(*) funnier, or sadder, or more dramatic, or whatever, based on whatever goofy storytelling system we all have hardwired in our silly monkey brains, which leads to shit like Interstellar's "Love is a force of nature" or Looper's "instant amputation is rad" or countless other illogical plot lines based on the folk physics of souls and vibes
P.S.  Bold prediction: all this Phase 4 multiversery will end up with an *in-MCU* explanation that their universes are run by narrative physics, formed by interaction with *us*, the writers and audience on Earth Prime, and that when She-Hulk and Deadpool break the fourth wall they are talking to *real world* us and that our goofy folk physics expectations are controlling their in-universe worlds. Which explains why there's lots of Spider-Men and Lokis of different ages and powersets and bodies and why Bruce feels like "a completely different person now -- literally" and why Wanda's 2025 neighbor looks exactly like 1970s Quicksilver and...

Did The TVA really give Loki Exercises ??? xD I understand why he tried to hit miss minutes with the magazine now, she was probably sassing him for probably being the most insubordinate student the TVA ever had ^^
LET SEE WHAT YA KNOW!
Q2. Thanos has two apples. He eats both but realizes he wants more. He goes back in time 20 minutes and eats the apples again. Does this mean the apples will not have existed in the timeline he left?
A. No, because time is constantly happening
B. The question doesn’t matter because a branch cannot change another time branch
C. Thanos would’ve been hungry prior because the Grandfather paradox already accounted for the change in matter before it’s move.

Here’s why the Supernatural Series Finale Sucked
(AND IT REALLY ISN’T JUST BECAUSE CAS/MISHA WASN’T IN IT)
First of all, I’d like to state, that this perspective is coming from someone who has watched, invested in, and dissected this show for 15 years. I’ve tried to rationalize and justify every single decision each of the main characters made throughout the years, and I’ve always tried to make sense of each of their story arcs from a “bigger picture” standpoint as each season progressed.
Anyway, before I can properly explain why the finale sucked, let me quickly take you through 15 seasons by segregating them into 3 eras, because you can’t really comprehend what Supernatural is about and what it’s become without going through how it tried to expand its universe.
SEASONS 1-5: THE KRIPKE ERA
Now, we all know that Kripke was always set in wrapping up Sam and Dean’s story in 5 seasons, and he did just that.
So, in this era, Supernatural is about two brothers who set out on a journey to fulfill “the family business”. They hunt mythical monsters that terrorize the world, while battling the monsters within themselves. Their ultimate “big bad” is an apocalypse.
Towards the end of this era, we find out that Sam and Dean are actually a parallel to Biblical characters who are brothers turned rivals. And that Sam and Dean’s destiny is to go up against each other.
However, as a dynamic, they have always been about making their own choices, choosing free will, and having a brotherly bond that can power through against any obstacle at any given day.
So, this era is neatly wrapped up with its finale. The characters grow, and get justified endings.
Dean, a man who thinks of himself as two things: 1. Sam’s older brother and protector; and 2. Daddy’s blunt little instrument.
He’s spent his whole life believing that that was his only purpose, and he knew that the only ending he’ll get would either be a bloody death fulfilling his duty to the family business; or laying his life on the line to save his brother.
Dean gets the ending he thought was never possible for him, something he thought he could never deserve. After years of living and dying for his family, he gets a shot at having an apple pie life--to settle down with a nice girl, raise a kid in a house with a white picket fence. With Sam gone, Dean’s responsibility now is to himself.
Sam, on the other hand, never wanted any part of it, because he wasn’t groomed the way Dean was, and because thanks to Dean, Sam wasn’t traumatized or forced into growing up too quickly the way Dean was.
So Sam aspires for a normal life, and works the cases with Dean so he can maybe get some semblance of it, when everything they set out to kill are laid to rest.
Ultimately, Sam performs a selfless act for his brother, who has given up everything for him, and for their cause--to save the world.
The journey is this: Dean sacrifices everything to save Sam, and Sam sacrifices himself so Dean could live.
Apart from being Dean’s “savior” and guardian angel, Castiel’s role in this era is to serve as a mirror to Dean’s journey. Castiel goes from being heaven’s foot soldier, following “God’s orders”; to an angel who learns to choose and feel for the first time in his existence.
After they realize that they’re both daddy’s blunt instruments, Dean starts choosing his own path for himself, and convinces Castiel to join him. Castiel stops following heaven, and starts following Dean.
In the end, with his newfound understanding of the world thanks to Dean, Castiel goes back to heaven to reform it.
We’ve resolved the biblical arc, and the character journeys.
SEASONS 6-10: THE SPIN-OFF ERA
So this is where the show realizes how vast its universe can be, so it tries to expand it by tapping into uncharted lands and experimenting with it.
They take on heaven, reform hell, explore purgatory, have the angels fall, turn Dean into a demon, and kill Death.
Dean and Sam recognize their codependency, and try to rise above it.
They go back and forth between which brother will risk it all for the greater good every other season.
Dean and Cas strengthen their relationship by recognizing the impact they have on each other’s lives.
Cas structures his life and decisions around Dean (Seasons 6-7), and Dean learns to trust and fight for Cas (Seasons 8-9).
Sam and Cas bond (mostly over Dean) because of their shared rationales in decision-making.
Dean, Sam, and even Cas also forge relationships with the people they work with. The concept of “found family” is introduced here.
This era was heavy on the plot while establishing, reinforcing, and solidifying relationships and dynamics.
At this point, it wasn’t just about the brothers anymore.
If Supernatural had ended in Season 10, the logical finale would’ve been Team Free Will, along with the family that they’ve found, going up against the latest big bad (Death or whoever). Maybe they lose them along the way, maybe they all make it out alive, or maybe they go down swinging, but at least the show recognizes and supports the message they keep saying, “Family don’t end with blood”
SEASONS 11-15: THE REWRITE ERA
This is where the show runs out of ideas and decides to invalidate the seasons that came before it.
From bringing Mary back (basically rendering their whole journey pointless because they’ve literally started hunting because of her death), to changing the stipulations in being Michael and Lucifer’s vessels (another character struggle rendered useless), to God himself breaking the fourth wall by saying that the Winchesters get away with everything because “they’re the main characters in his story and everything they’ve been through was just part of a badly written narrative”.
But what we’re getting from this era is that Sam and Dean, along with Cas (who has also deviated from the story) ARE trying to escape a badly written narrative.
That’s the “big bad” in this era. The writer.
At this point, the characters have picked up so many strays (including those from alternate universes), and have settled into their roles in their “found family”. Dean, Sam, and Cas all become surrogate dads and uncles.
They’ve also graduated from the whole “we’re on different sides” and “going behind each other’s backs” drama. And they just want the whole family together.
They’ve all resigned themselves to the cause, but they’re also tired. Dean allows himself to contemplate about wanting more out of life or at least getting a vacation. Sam, on the other hand, realizes his capabilities as an effective leader. Castiel learns to love another being that isn’t Dean (spoiler: it’s Jack).
However, they also realize that they’ve just been puppets on a string all this time.
So what they want now, is to write their own story, and make their own choices knowing that God/the writer isn’t the one fueling their narrative.
So here’s why the finale sucks:
Andrew Dabb, the current showrunner, said that there would be two finales.
15x19 - The finale to wrap up Season 15, and 15x20 - The finale to wrap up the series by “resolving the characters’ journey”
In 15x19 the boys find a way to de-power God/the writer. For the first time in their whole lives, they are free from the story. Their lives are completely theirs now. They can make their own decisions. There are no more “big bads” to fight
And here’s what happens in 15x20:
Immediately after being freed from their story arc, Dean and Sam go back to hunting the monster of the week.
Dean eats pie, gets nailed (literally), makes a 10-minute speech to Sam because he knows he’s dying, then he goes to heaven.
Dean is greeted by Bobby, his surrogate Dad who he hasn’t seen (fully alive) since Season 7. Bobby’s expository dialogue comprises of him explaining that he got out of heaven’s jail, that John and Mary are next door, and that Jack and Cas fixed the dynamics of heaven off-screen.
The first thing Dean decides to do is go for a long drive in his Impala (as if he hasn’t done enough of that already).
Meanwhile, Sam decides to stop hunting after Dean dies, he gets the apple pie life he hadn’t wanted since Season 8 (while Dean was in Purgatory), and names his kid “Dean” for effect. He grows old and dies.
Dean drove around in heaven for so long that Sam catches up to him.
They hug. The end.
Great, right?
After 15 years of struggling to battle their own respective destinies, going up against big bads and even bigger bads, then finally being able to take charge of their own stories, Dean and Sam regress to hunting the monster of the week, and get killed off by a nail and old age. Okay.
Sam gets to retire and have a family, sure, but they still focus on him and the kid he named after his dead brother. Still just “Sam and Dean” through and through. Nothing to do with found family. Just lineage. Just blood. And it ends there.
See, the problem here is that this ending would’ve been passable in The Kripke Era. But we’re 10 years down the road since, and while Sam and Dean are the original main characters, the show isn’t just about them and their codependent relationship anymore.
So you see, even if you take out the whole “Castiel deserves to be in the finale because he’s also a main character with an unfinished story arc” argument, the finale still does no justice to the series it tried to “wrap up”.
But anyway, now I’ll make the case for the problem with Castiel not being in the finale:
In 15x18, we get a 5-minute rushed confession from Castiel to Dean. The context of which are as follows:
1. Earlier in the episode, Dean had wounded Death with her scythe. We later find out that this wound is fatal.
2. Their friends start to “blip out” in a Thanos-like snap, and Dean thinks that Death is causing it, so Dean seeks her out, and Cas goes with him.
3. Dean and Cas anger Death, apparently for no reason because she didn’t even do the thing they thought she did. She chases them to try to kill them
4. Dean and Cas lock themselves in a room. Dean starts a pity party.
5. As Dean goes through hating himself out loud, Cas decides to inform Dean of the deal he made with The Empty. He then proceeds to explain the stipulation of the deal (that he would get taken once he experiences a moment of true happiness), then discusses his newfound happiness philosophy. Dean is getting whiplash.
6. Cas goes on to imply that the one thing that he wanted that he knew he couldn’t have is Dean Winchester reciprocating his romantic feelings for him. (Don’t even try to fight me on this because Cas already has Dean’s platonic love, and he knows that Dean thinks of him as a brother, so if he really meant this in a “familial” way, then why would he think that he couldn’t have the thing that would make him happy?) So Cas’ realization is that telling Dean about his feelings is enough to make him happy.
7. Cas tells Dean all the reasons why he loves him (thereby combating Dean’s self-deprecation tirade), and all the reasons why he’s worthy of his love. Meanwhile, Dean is still winded from the fact that Cas is about to sacrifice himself for him again.
8. Dean never gets to process anything, because Cas is shoving him out of the way, as he and Death (who busts through the door) get taken by The Empty.
After this episode, Dean never speaks of it. Misha Collins supposes that Dean doesn’t reciprocate. Jensen Ackles says that Dean didn’t really get to process it because it was too much, too fast, and that Dean, still dense as ever, thinks that Cas, a celestial being, doesn’t interpret human feelings the same way.
So what was the point of this confession?
Politics and sensitivities of a 2005 network television aside, what does this do for the story?
Cas proclaims his romantic feelings to Dean, but Dean never acknowledges it, doesn’t even give it a passing thought afterwards. So Cas’ big declaration goes unheard.
Cas cashes in on his Empty deal to kill Death (who was dying anyway), in order to save Dean who dies two episodes after.
Dean makes no effort to save Cas (despite being really broken up about his previous deaths, or even spending a whole year in Purgatory looking for him), even after they’ve beaten God, not even asking Jack (who has all the power in the universe) to bring him back (when Jack has already done it before, with less mojo).
Dean moves on to fight the monster of the week. Somewhere off-screen, Jack rescues Cas from The Empty, but Cas uncharacteristically doesn’t even bother to go to Dean? (Every single time he comes back, Dean’s always the first person he goes to)
And Cas, who apparently helped craft and reform the new heaven, isn’t the one who welcomes Dean and explains the new dynamics of it?
Sure, Jan.
Supernatural, you’ve created a finale that only your casual viewers and people who dipped out after Season 5 can appreciate.
Just goes to show how much you actually valued the people who actually invested in your story and characters, and consistently helped keep your show on the air.

Forgive and Forget
Summary: Snapping his fingers to make half of the population disappear was not the only plan Thanos had for the stones.

Tumblr media
One I Two I Three I Four
Y/n entered the compound with her arms filled with grocery bags. She managed to get to the elevator and asked Friday to get her to the kitchen. She set the bags on the isle not very carefully, and startling Natasha.
"How many times do I have to ask you to be careful?" Natasha asked annoyed. "It's food, Tasha. If it breaks it's gonna have the same destiny it will inside my stomach" She complained.
Natasha sighed and closed the book she was previously reading. She stood up from the chair and walked around the island. She took an apple from Y/n's hand and walked away and out of the kitchen.
"Training it's in five minutes," She said. Y/n looked at her surprised and tried to yell at her but Natasha was out of her reach by then. "But I need more than that! Natasha!?... Damn it" She tried to put the groceries into her cabinet as fast as she could, throwing the bag into the garbage in the process.
She ran towards her room and tried to put her training clothes on. There was only a small problem. "Where the hell are they!?" She started to threw clothes from her bed and closet to the floor looking for the outfit. Unable to find it, she turned to look in the bad of dirty clothes and finally found it on the chair that was supposed to be from her desk but just held clothes that were too dirty for the closet and too clean for the basket.
She put it on and ran outside her room, without noticing the small box that fell to the floor. "I'm here!!" She screamed as she opened the doors. "7 minutes late," Natasha said stopping the clock. "Five rounds". "What!? But... Nat!". "You wanna make it seven?" She asked with a smirk.
Y/n looked at Steve but he looked away clearly letting her know she was on her own. She sighed and walked out of the training room to the patio to start running around the big lake.
"Why are you being so hard on her?" He asked. They were both looking through the windows as Y/n started to run her first lap. "She's wrong". "For making her life?" He asked confused. "She has the right to date you know". "I don't like Michaella". "We know you don't. But that's not a good reason to be mean to her". "She shouldn't be with her".
"Then who should she be with?". He asked. "I... I don't know" Deciding the conversation was over, Natasha turned around and walked towards Clint and Bruce, that were playing with the 4-year-old Morgan.

After five hours of hard training, Y/n opened the door of her room and threw herself onto the bed. She closed her eyes debating whether she should take a bath, or fall asleep, or maybe if she should eat.
She stayed on the bed for an hour before she decided to feed her stomach and please her nose before sleeping. She left to the kitchen and came back shortly after with a good dinner. She turned the tv to continue the sitcom she was watching.
She didn't truly know when she started to like them, or why. Because they never made her laugh as much as they should. But yet something in her didn't let her watch anything else. She ate watching them, and once she finished she turned on the shower.
She had a recording on her phone of a girl singing her favourite song. She didn't remember recording it, or who the girl was. But she was hooked to the angelical voice that would come out of the speaker of the bathroom, and she could listen to it for hours.
She left the shower and walked to her room to put on her comfy clothes. Sweatpants and a hoodie that didn't belong to her, and she was sure they didn't belong to Natasha. Since they were the only two girls that were always in the compound, she thought they might have belonged to Michaella, but the girl almost cut her head when she asked, and Y/n had to lie and say they belonged to Natasha and she forgot to give them back.
Even if she didn't know when she got them from, they were the only clothes she had on her wardrobe that could relax her enough to make her forget about her problems. She once asked Bruce why, and within all his science talk she was able to understand that the fragrance of the clothes activated the hormones on her brain that made her happy.
And the anguish of not knowing who the person that made her happy was exhausting. She stuffed her nose into the hoodie and breathed the essence of the clothing. She walked towards the bed and got under the covers.
She hugged the unicorn she never won nor bought and fell asleep.

Wanda turned to look at the window one more time to make sure she was completely alone. Everyone should be sleeping. Time was different when they were. The sun was the only way they could know if it was day or night. And currently, Wanda thought it was around 10 pm.
She should be sleeping. But she couldn't bring herself to sleep. Not that she was tired anyway. It didn't matter to her either way. She gave up trying to sleep for years now.
Specifically Four years.
Because that's how long it took her to perform the most basic spell Strange could teach her. He always tried to convince her that it was only because she didn't have her magic at full potential, but Wanda knew better.
She didn't expect it to work. She never had good control of her magic. It took her so long, and the spell didn't even allow her to reach the other side. It was alright at first. She was new with the spell. Strange taught her magic took time and patience.
She ran out of them long ago.
But even if she never mastered the spell, she always used it. She couldn't cross the other side, but she became an expert on watching it. She could only watch Y/n live a happy life without her because she failed everyone.
They were trapped because she couldn't open a branch in their universe to make Y/n remember them. And Stephen had said the spell would only work with the person she loved the most.
She knew everyone was counting on her. So at first, she tried everything she could to make the spell work. She tried to contact Clint, Steve, Natasha, Bruce. Heck, she even tried Tony.
She knew she disappointed everyone. She was a failure, she knew that. The look of disappointment of pretty much everyone told her what she already knew. And neither Bucky nor Sam could make her think otherwise.
And that ended up in her keeping to herself and in her room. Day and night. She didn't need more people looking at her with disappointment. She didn't need them to remind her how much of a failure she was.
So, on another night of looking at the same four walls, she crossed her legs on the bed and performed the spell. Y/n was wearing her clothes and hugging the Unicorn Wanda won for her at the festival. Pretty far away in the room, she saw the stuffed dolls of Y/n and herself holding hands. It was the Avengers festival after all.
She remembered Y/n being so mad at her for winning the unicorn, that she set her mind to winning those dolls. Even if it meant she was gonna waste all her money in that game. Of course, it didn't matter because, at the end of the day, Wanda confess she used her powers to make Y/n lose.
But she did it for a good cause. She knew Y/n was good at the festival games, and for the first time in their relationship, Wanda wanted to win something for her. And if Y/n won, that wasn't going to happen. So, Y/n losing meant Wanda winning. And Wanda winning meant Y/n was gonna get the toy.
Y/n tried to blame her for making her lose on the other game too and attacked her with tickles. But in between laughs, Wanda confessed she never did anything in the second game. That was just bad luck.
But at the end of the day, it was all worth it. If the cartoons Y/n loved so much were real, Wanda was sure her eyes would have turn into hearts at the sight of Y/n's shining eyes and radiant smile.
Wanda came to the realization later that night, while she held Y/n in her arms, that the girl could control her however she wanted. Ironic for someone who could control people at her wish.
Paying attention to the room once more, Wanda caught the box of the engagement ring on the floor. She had thought about Y/n for so long that the sun started to rise. She wished she could reach the other side, she wanted Y/n to remember her.
She needed to.
So she had an idea. She had tried to connect with Y/n long ago. But she never tried to make something else have her attention. And that's when Wanda remembered that the ring had a diamond.
Hope raised inside her and she couldn't contain her excitement that maybe, she could reach the other side. Even if it was only a small strand of scarlet energy.
She tried it once, didn't work. She was a little rusty, so she tried again. And again. And again. By the 20th try, she gave up. The same barrier kept her on her side, and wouldn't allow her to cross it.
She decided to take a break. Maybe she was just tired. She remembered that sometimes, back in her time with Hydra, her powers didn't work as they should because she was tired. Maybe it was all.
But it wasn't, and deep down she knew it. It appeared that fate didn't want her to get her life back. To get her.
═══*.·:·.☽✧ ✦ ✧☾.·:·.*════*.·:·.☽✧ ✦ ✧☾.·:·.*═════*.·:·.☽✧ ✦ ✧☾.·:·.*═══
Y/n opened her eyes annoyed. Something was interrupting her sleep. It was bothering her. She didn't take long to find it. For some demoniac reason, her curtain was open. The sunshine was getting into her room and a small object on the floor was pulling the light to her eyes.
She stood up from the comfort of her bed and walked towards it. She took it in her hands and looked at it. It was an engagement ring. She looked at it confused. She didn't remember buying it. Or someone gave it to her.
But lately, she didn't remember a lot of things. Deciding that it was a good moment to just stay in bed, she grabbed her phone and started to go through her social media.
Half a day had passed before she noticed. Only when Michaella entered her room did she realize how much she spend on her phone. "Hi, baby!" She smiled throwing herself on the bed before kissing Y/n.
"Hi, love" She answered kissing her head as Michaella hid her face in the crook of Y/n's neck. "What are you doing here?". "We had a date, remember?". "Oh..." She didn't. "Right".
"Babe, you're so silly" She laughed, kissing Y/n's neck. While the ginger kissed her way to Y/n, the avenger's gaze was focus on the previous ring on the floor.
The disinterest shown on Y/n was enough to make Michaella move away from her in confusion. "Something wrong baby?" When Y/n didn't respond, Michaella followed her gaze until her eyes landed on the ring.
"Is that...?" She moved out of the bed and walked towards the ring. Y/n sat on her bed and tried to stop the ginger from getting the object, but by the time she could get out of the sheets Michaella had the ring on her hand. "Yes! I'll marry you!".
═══*.·:·.☽✧ ✦ ✧☾.·:·.*════*.·:·.☽✧ ✦ ✧☾.·:·.*═════*.·:·.☽✧ ✦ ✧☾.·:·.*═══
"THE FUCK YOU WILL" Wanda screamed. She stood from her bed still looking at the images that played in front of her like a television show. "GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM MY GIRLFRIEND YOU BITCH".
Anyone who would look at her would have thought that Wanda was mad, furious even. But truly it was just a mix of feelings she couldn't describe.
"THAT'S NOT FOR YOU, YOU LITTLE HOE. GET THE FUCK AWAY" Even though her screams couldn't get to the other side, she didn't think about it. She just needed to scream it out loud.
Between her screams and mix feelings, Wanda failed to realize how everything around her was turning red. Until a big explosion of red energy send her against one of the walls of her room and expanded until the whole universe had crashed against her magic.
She was only able to look at Y/n and saw something she hadn't seen in a long time. "I did it".

i read a post on here about bucky settling down in delacroix but think about this
imagine the community slowly warming up to one (1) bucky barnes
they're initially wary, that's definitely a given
but he's just so polite that some of the men start greeting him when they see him at the farmer's market every sunday for his weekly plum run, with or without sam by his side
after three weeks, he's got a long-standing cards-and-beer night with carlos and anyone else who wants to join
bucky having weekend dinner-and-movie nights with the wilsons that slowly become tri-weekly events because the boys just love him so much
he and sam take turns tucking them in at night, and seeing as they're still young enough for bedtime stories, bucky tells them sometimes about steve and nat and peter and wanda and anyone else he can remember
once, bucky wakes to find both boys curled tight into his sides and sam watching from the doorway, aj holding onto and drooling all over his metal arm, and it's such a blatant display of trust that bucky most definitely does not tear up, shut up sam, your cologne was in my eye
all of the older women coo over him, and there's definitely an age group joke in there somewhere ("oh, fuck off, samuel," bucky hisses when the other man outright snorts at the sight of him being subjected to yet another cheek-pinching session, courtesy of the wilsons' elderly friends, to which sam only replies "tsk, tsk, tsk, language"), but sue him, he'll take all of it if it means he'll get free apple pie afterwards
but it's the kids in particular who love him the most
sure, they're a bit scared of him at first, but after little marcia from cass' english class gives him a THANK YOU, MR. WINTER SOLDIER card, an artful rendition of bucky socking a glob of purple goo in the face on the front page ("i think that's supposed to be thanos, uncle buck," aj says from his perch on bucky's back), it's as if a floodgate has been opened and suddenly all the neighborhood kids adore him
little girls and boys randomly pasting stickers onto his metal arm when they pass him, and at the end of each day, bucky carefully peels all of them off and sticks them into his brand new notebook
he saves the captain america ones for sam, though
he develops a soft spot for one kid in particular, this skinny asthmatic who keeps getting into fights he can't finish, and sam doesn't even need to ask him why because he gets it right off the bat
at cookouts, bucky somehow always ends up being the designated babysitter
and it's not like he's got some super secret method, okay, but for some reason, the babies fall asleep faster when he's the one holding them
"excuse me, sergeant barnes....?" rachel, sarah's friend, asks, and she looks so close to tears that bucky immediately sets down his beer and reaches for the squealing bundle in her arms
("of course he's a baby whisperer as well. of course he is," sarah says, rolling her eyes fondly at the sight of bucky burping his fifth baby of the day over his shoulder)
he gains a mini-fanclub in some of the teenaged boys in town, most of them finding excuses to loiter by his garage door when bucky's fixing up his bike/car, and sooner or later, he finds himself teaching them a thing or two about machines
teenaged girls, though, are a different matter entirely
they start giggling whenever they bump into him around town ("hiiiiiii, mr. barnes") and it delights sam to no end to tease bucky about the fact that he's become something of a resident heartthrob
"seriously, sam, do these babies even know how old i am, i'm 106, sam, stop laughing at me, sam, i hate you" "no, you don't" "....no i don't"
for some reason, he also becomes the go-to person to call when pets get stuck up trees, because surprise surprise, even the animals here love him
"WHAT'RE YOU GOING TO HIM FOR I'M THE ONE WITH THE WINGS Y'ALL" - sam wilson, in the year of our lord 2023
just sam pretending to be annoyed by the whole thing, but honestly, he's way too happy about the fact that bucky is finally receiving the love and recognition he has always deserved

Your list of materials is much longer in the third year.
Tony complains that you shouldn't have taken so many classes, but you are so curious to explore the areas of magic that you can't help it.
This time, Mantis meets you in the diagonal alley. You were hoping to spend some time with Gamora and Nebula as well, but once you get a glimpse of their father, you know that's not going to happen.
Thanos is a tall, muscular man, and has a permanent aggressive look on his face. He also kept his hands on the shoulders of his two daughters while they were waiting to be attended to at Flourish and Blotts. You also noticed that your friends were wearing very beautiful and remarkably expensive dark green capes, and just like their father's outfit, they had a bundle of a silver snake. That was the first time you understood what Slytherin pride meant.
"He's scary." Mantis commented softly beside you. You nodded in agreement. Groot, who was a little bigger since you saw him last year, jumped on your shoulder, sitting next to your ear. You smiled at the creature before looking forward again.
You and Mantis were standing at the entrance of store, and saw your friends through the window. You gave up the idea of complementing them when you saw their father.
"Let's restock the potions list first, Mantis." You tell her. "Then we'll buy our books."
You meet Tony again at the Leaky Cauldron after you finish. He hides something from you quickly, but you are distracted by an apple muffin flying towards you, and you don't ask.
Bucky was staying at the Leaky Cauldron because his house had a magical accident. His father said something about a persistent spell flood. Since the rest of Bucky's family were muggle, only he and his father were staying there, solving the problem while Bucky's sisters were at his aunt's house.
Since everyone needed to buy the materials for the new school year, Tony asked you to join his friends when you were done buying your stuff.
After lunch with everyone, Mantis said goodbye to you, and you returned Groot to her hands.
You led her to the exit of the bar, but as you walked back to the table, a conversation caught your attention.
"I'm telling you, they saw him in Sokovia." A bearded man whispered. He looked so nervous, you couldn't help but pay attention. The woman standing next to him, a cup of a strange liquor in her hands, rolled her eyes.
"That's miles away, Thomas." She said. "If Korvac gets anywhere near London, the ministry will send him back to Azkaban in two seconds."
"He's already escaped once, Sara." You rebut the man.
You frown at the conversation. Walking back, you have a thoughtful frown on your face, and Tony teases you.
You get distracted by Steve's jokes about the coming year, and forget all about it.
It's only after you've packed your bag, during dinner, that you remember.
"I heard something strange today." You say casually as Tony and your father dine beside you. "Some folks in the Leaky Cauldron were talking about someone escaping from Azkaban."
Your father chokes. Tony stares at you, and ducks his head when your father looks at him angrily. Howard gaze softens when he looks at you however.
"Honey, who told you that?"
You shrug.
"No one told me dad." You reply. "I ended up overhearing two strangers talking about it. I never knew about anyone escaping from Azkaban before, it seemed important."
Tony kicks you under the table, and you frown in confusion. Your father takes a deep breath.
"Honey, listen to me carefully, will you?" He begins, and you worry at his serious tone. "There are important things going on at Daddy's work. Things that could be dangerous." He says and you look at him in surprise. "You and your brother are too young to be getting into such matters, and I hope you will trust me to keep you both safe."
"Yes, dad." Tony assures, but you remain silent. A moment later, you add:
"Daddy, is there anything I can do to help you?"
"No honey." He says taking back his fork.
"It's okay to tell me what's going on, I won't be scared. I can help..."
"Enough!" He exclaims angrily punching the table. You jump lightly in your chair, startled. Your father doesn't look at you. "I don't want you to hear anything about this anymore. You two are children, and it's dangerous. Have I made myself clear?"
You look at Tony, but he is glaring at the plate in front of you.
Swallowing the urge to cry, you get up, hurrying to run to your room.
Your father calls you several times, but you don't answer.
A few minutes after you are in your bed, he appears in your room. His posture is much gentler than before, and he kneels down beside your bed.
"Honey, hey." He calls to you. You keep your face in the pillow, and he sighs. "I'm sorry for yelling at you." He says, and with your silence, he continues. "Can you forgive me?"
It takes a few seconds, but you look at him, and nod. Howard smiles faintly.
"You and your brother are the most important things in my life." He says fondly. "And I would never forgive myself if something happened to you because of me."
"Dad, you can't control what is in the rest of the world."
Your father chuckles lightly.
"Yeah I know." He says. "Damn, I wanted you to stay a little girl forever, so you wouldn't be so smart."
You laugh, pushing his shoulder lightly.
"You're not going to tell me what's going on, are you?" You ask and your father sighs, looking away.
"It's nothing that will affect you honey." He says. "It's just problems of the magical world. I don't want you meddling in something like that. Not at this age."
You sit down on the bed next, raising your pinky to your father.
"I swear I won't pry into such business if you promise to tell me if things get serious enough for me to know."
Her father laughs, raising his own pinky then.
"I promise, kiddo."
You both laugh as you take the oath, and your father hugs you next. When he lets go and stands up, you pull his hand away.
"Apologize to Tony, Daddy." You ask surprising him slightly. "He doesn't like it when you yell either."
Your father sighs, bending down to kiss your forehead. He asked you to go to sleep before he closed the door.
//-//
It is very cold when you arrive at Hogwarts.
But you don't care because all your friends link arms and walk together, making you laugh at the confused looks you get when the other students notice the small row.
Over dinner, your mood changes quickly however.
"I imagine it has come to the attention of many students here, especially the older ones, the recent untoward events in the magical world." Principal Harkness began during the announcement of the new school year. She had a serious and authoritative tone, and deep dark circles under her eyes. You have never seen her like this before. "But for those of you who are not aware, the dark wizard known as Korvac escaped from Azkaban a few months ago." The hall exploded into murmurs at the mention. You saw Professor Strange lock his jaw, probably disagreeing that such a topic should be broached with eleven-year-olds. "After much consideration, the Ministry of Magic thought it best to apply additional security to the castles."
"So, starting next week, we will have special guests at the Hogwarts castles; The ministry has determined that aurors and Azkaban guards will be guarding the outside of the grounds."
The crowd erupted in boos as soon as the words echoed in the hall. Your Hufflepuff colleagues remarked in horror that the dementors, the guards of Azkaban, were terrifying, and you sought your brother's gaze at the Slytherin table, but he was looking earnestly at the principal.
Agatha sighed impatiently, and the hall fell silent. She asked everyone to be careful with the guards in Azkaban, not to give them reason to fight back. And then she returned to the daily announcements as if nothing had happened.
You didn't eat very well after that.
History of Magic with Professor Okoye was one of the hardest classes in school.
You were hoping to get decent grades this year, but you were assigned to be with Peter as your pair, so you knew you would have to work for two, as your friend had no interest at all in that subject.
"Why don't you try to pay attention?" You asked slightly annoyed as you made your notes. Quill was drawing small dragons in his notebook.
"I want to be a famous Quidditch player, I don't need to know the history of the Goblin revolution for that."
You sighed, turning your attention back to the blackboard. Several minutes after class had begun, a Gryffindor student raised his hand.
"Professor Okoye, may I ask you a question?" it was Thor Odinson, and he seemed to have grown at least twenty inches over the summer. You noted that his hair was also longer when you looked back, wondering who was speaking.
"Of course, Odinson." The teacher said with a gentle smile. Thor cleared his throat as he lowered his hand, seeming to hesitate.
"Could you tell us about the Mephisto followers?"
The room fell absolutely silent at the mention of the name, and many students looked at Thor with wide eyes. The smile on Professor Okoye's face completely disappeared.
"Where did you hear that name, boy?" she asked sternly, Thor swallowed dryly.
"M-my father, ma'am." He replied. "I heard him send a bawler to the ministry quoting that name. When I asked, he told me to study the history of the wizarding world. I thought I would ask you because I couldn't find anything in the books."
The room looked at the teacher expectantly. Okoye sighed, seeming to decide whether to talk about it or not.
"Listen to me carefully please." She asked as she walked around the tables. "Some years ago long before any of you were born, there was a sorcerer who made all the wrong choices. He sought immeasurable power, and was never satisfied with his own abilities. And many other wizards believed that the quest for ultimate power was something worth dying for. When this wizard became a symbol of power and cruelty, he named himself Mephisto."
Her classmates exchanged startled looks, but the teacher continued to tell.
"The dark wizards and witches who supported this quest became known as the Followers of Mephisto, or Walkers of Death. The magical ministries around the world banded together to put an end to the group, and there was a great battle, where most of these wizards were imprisoned or killed in a duel."
"What happened to Mephisto?" Thor asks suddenly, interrupting the narration. The teacher hesitates, but then gives a reassuring smile.
"He's dead, of course." She assures.
"My mother says he was never found." Added another classmate, you think her name is Valkyrie, but you've never talked to her. Much buzz runs through the room at her utterance, and Professor Okoye twists her fingers nervously.
"When the Walkers of Death were eliminated, Mephisto lost his power." She tells seriously. "The last person who faced him is related to someone in this room actually."
Professor Okoye turns to you, and you want to sink into your chair, feeling your heart soar.
"Auror Howard Stark was the last sorcerer to fight Mephisto before his demise. Thirteen years ago." She says and you feel all the stares on you. "But that's enough from this matter for today, students. Mephisto's story is taboo in our witch community because of the thousands of lives that were lost during that period." She adds, "I hope you will be respectful about the memory of those victims, and not comment on such a thing, or mention the name of this despicable wizard again."
The teacher closes the subject after that, looking upset. You can't pay attention to the class again when she goes back to talking about the magical revolution.
//-//
"Did you knew about that?" You ask angrily when Tony looks unimpressed when you approach him in the third floor hallway, after searching all over the school for him.
He looks tired.
"Stop talking so loud, will you?" He asks looking around. "Of course I knew, I've been researching this story for months."
You frown in confusion, and Tony rolls his eyes leaning against the bookshelf next to him.
"I didn't tell you anything because you're only thirteen!" He adds nervously. "That's not children's business."
"It is my business if it involves our family!". You retort angrily. A group of students walk past you, looking at you curiously, but Tony just pretends to be admiring the trophies until they leave.
"Look, I don't really know what happened, but dad used to be an auror when mom was alive." He recounts. "And then he took on this powerful sorcerer, and mom died when you were born. He became an inventor, switched departments in the mystery, and nobody talks about this Mephisto guy nowadays."
"Do you know what this has to do with the wizard who escaped from Azkaban?" you ask with your arms crossed, Tony gives a chuckle.
"Isn't it obvious, sis?" he retorts wryly. "Korvac was Mephisto's greatest ally at that time. And he escaped from the most secure prison in the world. A lot of people think that means the walkers are getting back in business again."
"My god Tony, why didn't dad tell us any of this?" You ask worriedly and Tony laughs humorlessly, looking upset.
He straightens his posture and points to the glass on the trophy shelf that was propped up.
"And there's more." He says. "Take a look at that."
You turn your face to stare at the objects that were stored there. Most were trophies, but there were also pictures of the Quidditch teams from previous years. Tony is pointing to one of those.
"No way." You whispered as you see it. In the caption on the board, it read "Howard Stark and Erik Lehnsherr receiving awards for their honorable service to the school." It was your father and your teacher, probably in their senior year, and they seemed both content. The magical photograph showed them hugging each other by the shoulders, huge smiles on their faces, and two golden cups in their hands.
"Yes, little sister." Tony said also looking at the picture. "Dad and Magneto were friends in school days. I wonder what happened to Professor Lehnsherr to make him so bitter. He looks happy in that picture."
The sound of the bell announcing the next period makes you jump in fright, as you were completely distracted by the photograph in front of you.
"Let's talk about this later, Tony, I have charms now and..."
"No way, Y/N!" Tony interrupted frowning. "That's none of your business. Dad told me that you promised to stay out of it, and I agree with him. You're too young!"
"Oh and you think he'll like knowing you're investigating this whole story?" You retort and Tony sighs, looking away, "That's what I thought.
"I'm not going to get you mixed up in this story."
"Fine, I'll find out on my own, then."
"Y/n..."
"See you, Tony."
//-//
Having dementors in the castle is really scary.
It's been two weeks since classes started, and with the first Quidditch game of the year approaching, you're pretty anxious.
You didn't make much progress in your research during those days. None of the professors wanted to say anything about Mephisto's time, and you lost fifteen points when you tried to ask Professor Lehnsherr about his school days, for being a snoozer.
The only things you found out other than what Tony told you were what Gamora and Nebula shared with you. They mentioned that Thanos was particularly busy during the summer, and that they had never seen him go to the Ministry so often before.
You also started reading the Daily Prophet, and every day they would publish something about Korvac's escape, even if it was only to say that there was no news in the case.
When the day of the first match arrived, you ignored the strange feeling that settled on the edge of your stomach as if something bad was going to happen.
You are overjoyed when you are in the air, waiting for the match to start, and notice that all of Tony's friends, including yourself, have yellow flags in their hands to cheer you on.
Everything goes well until the end of the first half.
You noticed a bludger almost reaching your chaser team mate, Clint Barton and moved forward to defend him many meters above the stadium. Because it was raining, your visibility was very poor. You knocked the ball away, but lost sight of Clint, although you heard him shout a thank you. As you dived down again, lightning exploded beside you, and you jumped in fright, feeling your ear whistle as you became completely disoriented.
As you began to get used to your surroundings again, you felt your body become completely tense. The cloud in front of you was almost a face shape, it looked like someone with horns or maybe wearing a tiara. The image dissolved in the next second, and you felt a strange chill run through your body. Releasing the broom handle only to hug your arms, you looked down, the whole team many meters away.
When you tried to join them, something came in your way.
Dementors must have been the scariest thing you had ever seen in your life. And there was one of them right in front of you. You widened your eyes in shock, and the creature looked straight at you.
Losing your strength quickly, you felt yourself slipping off the broom. A feeling as if you had been wrapped in a very painful spell overtook your body as you fell.
//-//
You woke up in a jolt, and warm hands pushed you back into bed.
"Relax, kid." Your brother spoke with a smile. "I swear I'll actually forbid you to play at some point."
"What happened?" you asked confused. All of your friends and Tony's friends around your bed.
"You fell off the broom, damn it." He retorted and you rolled your eyes.
"Yeah but there was a dementor up there..."
"Yeah, everyone saw it." Tony interrupted looking annoyed. "Professor Harkness kicked everyone out of the stadium after Professor Strange conjured up the patronus."
"I have never seen Professor Strange so angry." Gamora remarked next.
"Oh, there's something else." Natasha warned moving around the crowd to stand beside you on the bed. "Your broom fell into the Whomping Willow, and well. It' s right here."
In Nat's arms were the remains of what had once been your Nimbus 2000. You sighed in displeasure, but at least you could ask Jarvis to buy you another one.
After you were released from the nurse's office, Principal Harkness was waiting for you in the hallway. She waved for all your other colleagues to go their ways, as she escorted you to the Hufflepuff common room.
"Tell me, dear, are you feeling all right?" She asked tenderly. You nodded in agreement as you walked.
When you reached an empty hallway, she stopped walking, and touched your shoulder so that you would do the same. She knelt at your height and looked deep into your eyes.
"Tell me what you saw up there."
" Professor, I don't remember..." You started to say, but then fell silent, immediately recalling what you saw as you gaze the purple glow in front of you. It was as if your thoughts came out of your lips before you even thought to say them. "I saw an image in the clouds, it was like a horned creature or someone wearing a crown. Then the dementor reached me and I felt an immediate chill and unhappiness. I had the feeling that I was wrapped in a sensation of pain as I fell down."
The professor seemed to absorb every one of your words. She smiled then, her eyes returning to their normal color quickly, making you believe you had imagined the whole thing.
"Thank you dear." She said. "Let's keep this between us, okay?"
When you two walked back, you didn't remember any conversation at all.
//-//
Your first trip to Hogsmeade is amazing.
You buy two bags full of candy at the Honeydukes, and then you and your friends go to the Three Broomsticks, to have some buttery beer.
Quill seems to have become friends with Pietro Maximoff during Quidditch practice, because as soon as they see each other, they greet with a hug.
You ignore the feeling of nervousness that settles on the pit of your stomach when your gaze meets Wanda's.
Your friends don't mind sharing a table with the Maximoff twins, and that's how you end up sitting a few feet from Wanda, Gamora's watchful eye on you trying to understand why you're so quiet and flushed.
"Everyone is so nervous about the dementors at the castle, that I think we should try to do something fun. Like throw a party." Quill suggested to the group. Mantis looked excited.
"I think we could do something before Christmas." Gamora suggested and the group agreed.
"Does anyone have any idea where we can have this party? Quill asked." Since we are from different houses, maybe the common rooms are not a good option. I heard that the Slytherin kids don't really like the Hufflepuffs.”
Quill's teasing makes Wanda roll her eyes, but the rest of the table giggles. You look away to your cup.
"We could use some empty room on the seventh floor." Pietro suggested, and Quill gave an excited exclamation.
"This is a great idea." He said. "If the older students are going to participate, we can get some prefect to cover for us."
Quil looks at you and Mantis has to poke your shoulder for you to notice and pay attention.
"Sorry, what is it?" You ask when you notice all the looks on you.
"Can't you convince Steve Rogers to join us? He's your brother's boyfriend."
You laugh, nodding in agreement
"Okay folks, I'll try to call them all."
On the way back to the castle, after you spent the afternoon talking about the most diverse random subjects and telling jokes, you leave your hands in your pocket, because it is very cold.
Quill and Pietro start playing tag, and Wanda walks alone. You hurry up to join her.
"Hey." You greet with a smile, Wanda also has her hands in her pockets.
"Hey". She responds kindly.
"Is everything all right?"
"Yes?"
"Are you asking me?" You say back with humor and Wanda laughs, looking at the floor as she walks. "I… I thought it was cool this afternoon." You confess the next moment, feeling your face get hot. "With everyone together, I say. And you and your brother, it's ... you two are nice."
"Thank you, Stark." She replies with a smile. You move your fingers inside your pocket before you speak again.
"If we're going to be friends, you can use my first name". You say and Wanda looks at you, but you keep looking forward.
"Are you sure?" She asks after a moment. You frown without understanding. "Are you sure you want to be my friend?"
You look at Wanda in surprise. But then your expression softens.
"I thought we were going to be friends last year, but you looked angry every time you saw me."
Wanda laughed lightly, looking ahead.
"Yeah, I… I'm sorry about that." She says. "It wasn't something you did. It was just a few things I heard. And I ended up thinking that you were judging me like everyone else at that school." She tells you. "It would make sense since you saw me face the troll." Wanda whispered the last part. You bit your bottom lip before speaking again.
"You could have talked to me, you know?" You say. "I kept thinking that I had done something wrong."
Wanda said nothing, and you sighed, running your hands through your hair.
"We can forget about it and be friends now, what do you think?" You then suggested a smile on your face.
Wanda looked at you, and her green eyes cause something in your stomach to sink.
"I would like that."
"Cool." You comment breathlessly.
//-//
Being friends with Wanda is so natural that it almost surprises you.
Now whenever you sit down at the Slytherin table, there are two new members in your group of friends.
Eventually you discover that it was Quidditch that build Quill and Pietro friendship, as they stopped fighting because they were spending a lot of time training together.
At the Slytherin table, you know that Pietro and Quill receive angry looks because they are from Gryffindor, but no one has the courage to say anything to you, perhaps it is the deadly stare that Wanda gives anyone who dares to look foully at her brother.
You also succeed in inviting Steve and Tony, in addition to your brother's other friends, to the party before Christmas. Steve says that you all can use the old Astronomy room on seventh-on Saturday, and that the curfew would be at ten o'clock. The news of the party ends up spreading quickly around the school, but your friends don't seem to mind that it stopped being something small just between you guys.
When the day finally comes, you wear a comfortable jeans and sweatshirt set, realizing that it is a choice of clothes much more similar to Muggle-borns than pureblood but no one seems to care.
"Hey, you took so long" remarked Gamora as soon as you went up to the seventh floor and met her at the door of the room. "Come on, everyone is already in there"
As you took some of the non-alcoholic fruit drink that Mantis helped Quill make, you looked around the room. You waved sheepishly when your eyes met Wanda's, who was coming in. She looks very beautiful in her wine red sweater, and she smiled at you, and you didn't understand why you felt your stomach flip.
Soon everyone were all together, talking animatedly on various subjects. When Quill and Pietro started doing a dance competition, you laughed so hard that your belly was aching when they were done.
//-//
You have your first Divination class that week.
Professor Heimdall was already waiting for the students while he was sitting on a kind of ivory throne in the corner of the room, which smelled of incense that made your head spin slightly. It really was a remarkably mystical and mysterious environment, even for a magic school. The illumination was limited due to long white curtains on the walls, and there were many candles scattered around the room. Mantis whispered that this kind of thing was done to increase concentration when working with this kind of magic.
"Welcome to our first meeting on Divination, students, the most complex and unstable of magical arts." began the professor as soon as everyone was seated at the tables spread around the tower. "I must warn you that if you seek answers to your most personal questions here, you will most likely not find them. There is no stability in this subject."
Some students commented softly among themselves, but no one seemed willing to contradict the professor, his yellow eyes roaming over everyone in the room.
"Let's begin today's class with an introduction to the basics of study in divination." He warns, and with a flick of his wand, the cupboards at the back of the room open, and from there several sets of cups fly out to all the tables. Then the professor touches his wand to the teapot on the table, and it multiplies into four pairs, flying around to serve everyone.
When everyone has their cups full, Professor Heimdall goes to the small blackboard, and begins to explain how divination works. You hurry to start writing it down.
Many minutes later, when you have finished your tea, Mantis pokes your shoulder.
"Let me look at yours and you do mine?" she asks and you nod, handing her your cup. You clear your throat, looking intently at the dregs of tea in Mantis' cup.
"I don't see anything." You grumble, trying to concentrate. The powder doesn't seem to form anything.
"Remember to check the symbols in your books." Warned Professor Heimdall aloud the next moment. You took a deep breath, running your fingers across the paper as you tried to identify the images.
"Mantis, let's switch, I don't think I'm getting anything..." You start to say softly looking at your book, when you glance at your friend however, you frown in confusion. She has her gaze glazed on your cup, one hand covering her mouth, "Mantis, what happened?"
She gasps softly, and you straighten your position as you notice a thick tear running down her cheek, feeling your heart soar with worry.
"I'm... I'm so sorry." She sighs breathlessly, dropping her cup on the table. The noise attracts everyone's attention, but Mantis is getting up the next moment, and running out of the room. You stand up, but Professor Heimdall puts his hand on your shoulder.
"Don't worry, miss Stark." He says. "It's common for those more sensitive to divination to have that kind of reaction in their first contact with the spirit world." He explains with a tender look. You don't understand why, but his voice calms you. "Go back to your activity, I will talk to your friend."
He waves to the rest of the room next, and then leaves. You sit back down, exchanging worried glances with Gamora and Nebula who are at the table in front of you.
Your first action is to look at the cup that Mantis has thrown on the table, but the impact has broken it at the bottom, and the liquid has run down the cloth. You sigh in dissatisfaction, using your wand to clean up the mess.
When class is over, Gamora and Nebula quickly join you.
"Any idea what that was about?" Gamora asks as you walk together through the castle.
"No, she just got a glazed look in her eyes, and then she ran off." You count. "I'll try to ask her in potions class."
"Maybe she saw some evil omen." Nebula comments, and Gamora elbows her in the stomach. "Ouch."
You frown worriedly.
"Does that mean something bad is going to happen to me?"
Gamora denies with her head, forcing a smile as if trying to reassure you.
"Bad omens can be many things, even something silly, like losing a sock in your room." She says and you leave your hands in your pockets, not feeling reassured by this information.
"Yeah, but Mantis wouldn't cry over a sock." You retort and Nebula nods in agreement, but Gamora has a serious expression.
"I'd rather think it's nothing bad." She says. "Professor Heimdall said it's normal for sensitive students to have that reaction, isn't it?" She adds and you shrug. "Maybe she's just been watching you lose a game or something, but she was so overwhelmed with having seen something, that she got emotional."
"I hope you're right." You grumble as you reach the stairs. You sigh. "See you at lunch, girls. Have a good History of Magic class."
Gamora and Nebula wave goodbye and head in the opposite direction from you after they watch the staircase move.
You hurry to avoid being late for potions.
//-//
Mantis doesn't come to the dungeon either. You poke Quill in the back as he sits down in front of you, and ask if he's seen her anywhere, but he shrugs, worried that you don't know either. You just sigh, telling him what happened in class.
"I'm glad I didn't take that subject." He says as he hears the story. "I've heard that some people learn to see the day that the other person is going to die. That's scary."
You laugh incredulously.
"That sounds like a lie."
Quil shrugs his shoulders. "That's what I heard."
You wish you could talk more, however Professor Erik entered the room the next moment, and everyone fell silent. You tried to forget about the divination class by concentrating on making your poison antidote correctly next.
//-//
You only found Mantis at lunchtime.
Or rather, she found you.
You had just come out of charm class, and she was waiting for you outside. You looked at her with surprise and concern, but she just smiled, looking much more relaxed than earlier.
"I'm sorry I disappeared." She says. "Professor Heimdall thought it best that I get some rest, and then he taught me some things about aural sensitivity."
"I don't know what that means." You comment making her smile.
"It doesn't matter." She says. "I'm sorry for scaring you earlier."
You shake your head.
"Mantis, come on, no need to stress about it." You retort. "I was worried about you, and I'm sure it wasn't your fault."
Mantis smiles, looking forward. You bite the inside of your cheek, finding her strangely calm and distant.
"Do you remember what you saw in my cup?" You ask hesitantly, and a small glint passes through Mantis' eyes, but then she smiles quietly, denying it.
"It was no great thing, I believe." She says. "Professor Heimdall has assured me that it must have been just a bad memory, and that there is nothing to worry about."
You frown, but something in Mantis' expression tells you that she just won't talk about it anymore. Not wanting to make your friend uncomfortable, you don't press the issue again.
//-//
It's Christmas again, and you don't go home.
This year Hogwarts is much emptier than it usually is, and you know that it's because of the dementors.
The vast majority of the families, even those who usually leave their children at Hogwarts, have asked the students to return home. Your father briefly mentioned in his last letter how there were many requests for shift changes during the holiday period.
Tony also stayed in the castle, you knew he was planning to enter the forbidden section of the library, and he had told you to mind your own business when you asked if you could help.
Surprisingly, Gamora and Nebula returned home. It was very unusual because Thanos didn't like parties, but they promised to write to you. Mantis always returned home, so you just handed over your present before hugging her goodbye. Quill and the Maximoffs stayed with you.
"You know you're losing right?" you remarked with amusement as you were spending time with your friends in the Gryffindor communal room, a wizard chessboard in front of you. Quill let out an annoyed groan.
"That game is harder than it looks." He grumbled looking at the pieces. " Knight move to E3 please."
The piece moved, cursing softly that Quill was making a stupid move, and you laughed.
"Can't you see her bisbe right there you idiot? "Squinted the black item, and Quill sighed in irritation.
"You want to play by yourself, do you?" He retorted, and Pietro and Wanda who were watching you two, giggled.
"Are you talking to the game, Quill?" Pietro teased as if the boy in front of him was crazy.
After you beat Peter, it was your turn to face Pietro. He was a much better player, but he still made a lot of thoughtless moves.
Someone walked past the door, and you heard noises of footsteps, and then there was a girl joining you all.
"Hey, Monica!" Pietro greeted the girl cheerfully as soon as he saw her. The girl smiled at him. "Guys, this is Monica Rambeau, she is..."
"Professor Rambeau's daughter." Quill completes as if it is obvious. And you and Wanda smile at the girl. "Everybody knows Monica, man."
"What are you guys doing?" The girl asks curiously.
"Playing chess."
"Losing at chess, you mean right?" you tease with a smile. Pietro and Quill laugh in agreement, Wanda is distracted by the book in her hands.
"Do you want to hang out with us?" Pietro asks.
"Actually, I'm going to go outside." Monica says excitedly. "I just went in to get a coat. Darcy and I are going to make a snowman. Why don't you guys join us?"
You exchange glances with your friends. They all seem to think the same thing. And that's how you end up in the outside yards, in a snowball war.
" Back off, Pietro, I'm on your team!" You yell at the older Maximoff who has just hit you with an icy snowball to the chest. Pietro laughs.
"In war it's every man for himself!" He shouts running toward you. You laugh as you run away from him, preparing to hit Quill who is in the opposite direction.
"Hey, get down!" You heard someone shout and you turned around, obeying the order as soon as you noticed Darcy's raised arm toward you. She threw a snowball at someone behind you, and you laughed when Pietro let out an exclamation. Running toward the girl, you thanked her with a wave of your hand before running back.
After hitting Monica and Quill twice, you ran out of Pietro's reach when he appeared at your side, laughing. Stumbling, you ended up miscalculating your speed, and knocked Wanda down next.
"That's a foul." Joked Pietro as he watched you two fall, laughing along with both of you. Before he could throw a snowball at you, Quill was back and he ran. You helped Wanda up as you apologized for knocking her down.
"One point each." She says holding the snowball at chest height. You smile, and wait for her to throw the snow at you. She laughs when she has done so gently, pushing the ball against your shoulder, the icy liquid running down your blouse making you shiver slightly.
You pick up a snowball from the ground next, but when you look at Wanda, her face flushed with cold, and emerald eyes sparkling with amusement, you don't have the heart, and just smile wryly, making her look at you curiously.
"What is it?" she asks confused by the way you are just looking, making no mention of throwing the snow at her.
But the moment was broken next, when you all heard an animalistic noise nearby, and turned your heads with curiosity.
A few meters away was the guardian of the lands, Drax, leading a line of winged horses through the snow. You and your friends let out a chorus of excitement.
"Wow, look at the size of those horses." Pietro commented looking in the same direction.
"They're not horses, people!" Monica exclaimed excitedly. "They're unicorns! Mom said we were going to study them next class don't you remember?"
Only when Monica said this did you squeeze your eyes shut to get a better look, and you could see the white horns in the distance. Drax waved at you from a distance when he noticed that you all were looking. He led the horses to the area where the class on Magical Creatures was usually held, and you saw that Professor Rambeau was waiting for him.
After that, it seemed to get colder. And you all decided to go inside and have some hot chocolate, as you took your friends into the kitchens. The elves were happy to serve you sweet breads and cakes, even outside of dinner time.
//-//
On Christmas morning, all of your friends, including Tony and Natasha who was Tony's only friend to stay at Hogwarts, gathered at the same table in the main hall for the gift exchange.
"Stop fussing, boy, you'll mess up the presents!" You heard Darcy complain to Quill. She and Monica were also with you because Pietro invited them. Neither of you guys minded, because they were very nice.
"I'm just trying to get a peek." Retorted Peter raising the gift package in the air out of Darcy's reach.
"It's not your gift, so you can't look!"
You laughed at the interaction, finishing opening the package in front of you. Natasha had given you a new collection of wand care products and you loved it.
"You do need to take better care of your wand indeed." Teased Tony when he saw the gift. You laughed while waving a middle finger at him, and stood up to hug Nat in appreciation.
Most of the gifts were clothes, and candy. You bought a collection of exploding snap cards for Quill, and he was very pleased, already throwing the cards on the table to play with everyone. Pietro and Monica eventually agreed to participate, while Darcy watched them.
"That's mine right there." You said shyly to Wanda as she picked up one of the packages from the stack. "I hope you like it."
Wanda bit her lower lip in anticipation as she opened the package. And when the red scarf became visible, she fell silent, and it was your turn to be nervous.
"I know you're from Slytherin and all, but I've noticed that you really like red." You hasten to justify. "And then I saw this scarf in Hogsmeade and I remembered that day after charms class that you forgot your scarf and Pietro lent you his and so I thought it would be a good idea and..."
"I loved it." She interrupts looking at you. Her cheeks redden and a tender smile on her lips. You relax with relief immediately.
"Oh, right." You say. "Good, then."
You think you've been looking into Wanda's eyes too long, because your face is starting to heat up. But Peter gives a celebratory shout for getting the card move right, and you and Wanda look away quickly. She puts on her scarf next, and you look down at your lap to hide the silly smile that insists on escaping your lips.

When classes at Hogwarts return, the Dementors leave.
Apparently there was a big commotion in the Ministry of Magic. You hear many students commenting on this during the class break. And then there is a story in the Daily Prophet saying that Korvac was killed in combat with aurors in London, but there are also many people saying that this is a lie, and that he has run away again and the Ministry of Magic doesn't want to assume to the public.
Anyway, Headmistress Harkness removes the dementors from the castle and the atmosphere in the school improves considerably.
Nebula has a large purple mark on her left eye when she returns. Gamora tells everyone that she fell off her broomstick. You choke when she tells only you that it was Thanos who did this after he caught her snooping in his office.
"You can't tell anyone about this, okay?" She asks tearfully and you nod frantically, hugging her to calm her down. "I've never seen our father like that."
"It's okay now, Gamora." You say tightening in your embrace. "I will help you."
When you write to your father, asking what to do in a situation where the dangers are indoors, he says that Stark Mansion is big enough to accommodate your friends.
When you come home for the vacations after doing very well on your final exams, Gamora and Nebula are with you.

Part 12
Request: Yes or No
I'm sorry this feels short
~
You smiled, ending the call with Bucky. Over the past year, you basically called Bucky every week. Sometimes you went a few days without talking because he was busy or because you had a mission but you two always tried to talk at least once a week. You had gotten to know him better. He told you stories about him and Steve, how it was like growing up bisexual and having to hide it, joining the army. Some things were hard for him to talk about so you didn't push him.
"Done talking to your boyfriend?" Cooper asked, entering the room. You grinned, rolling your eyes and patting the spot infront of you. Cooper took a seat on the bed, sitting criss cross.
"Is Wanda still in Scotland?" He asked.
"Yeah, she is." You smiled, watching your little brother. Cooper hummed, toying with the strings of his hoodie. You watched him curiously.
"What's on your mind?" You asked softly. Cooper bit his bottom lip, tugging on the strings a bit.
"Are you gonna leave to visit that guy too?" He asked quietly. Your gaze softened, reaching forward and gently pulling him closer. You wrapped your arms around him.
"Coop, even if I did leave frequently or moved out, I would come visit everyday. I'd call you all the time." You told him gently, giving his arm a squeeze.
"I wouldn't forget about you, Lila, and Nate." You smiled softly. You turned your head, hearing the burner phone. You frowned, picking it up and looking at the message.
Steve Rogers
We need to get everyone together. We're gonna pick you up in ten.
Cooper watched you, head tilting. You licked your lips, sighing softly and looking at him.
"I've got a mission, bud. Could you go tell mom and dad while I get dressed?" You asked him, tossing the phone on the bed and going to your closet. Cooper nodded, getting up and leaving the room. You got out the outfit Clint had gotten you, changing into it. You opened your drawer, sliding the pistol into its holder. After what had happened with everyone, Clint decided to teach you hand to hand combat and how to use weapons.
"What happened?" Clint asked as he entered the room. You looked at him, licking your lips.
"Something serious. Steve wants everyone to group up." You told him. Clint frowned, nodding.
"Stay safe, alert, and-"
"Come back in one piece." You finished for him, smiling softly. You gave him a hug, moving onto Laura before heading down the steps. You could hear the aircraft landing outside.
"You're leaving?" Lila asked with a pout. You nodded, crouching down and hugging her. You gave Cooper and Nathaniel a hug, assuring them you'd be back.
"Be good." You called, leaving the house and jogging over to the aircraft. Natasha and Steve greeted you with smiles. You noticed their new looks.
"I didn't know you could grow facial hair." You said as the back close. Natasha laughed softly, giving you a hug. Steve shook his head with an amused smile as he made the aircraft rise. Sam gave you a wide smile.
"So, where is Wanda?" He asked.
"Edinburgh with.. Vision." You told them, watching Natasha set the course.
"And why is she there with him?"
"She's not giving or getting information. They're.. A couple." You shrugged lightly. Natasha and Sam shared a surprise look.
"How's Bucky?" Steve asked, keeping his gaze forward. You flushed, unaware that Steve knew about you and Bucky being in contact.
"He's.. Uh, he's fine." You said, scratching the side of your neck and avoiding their teasing gazes.
"So, what's up? What happened?" You asked, looking over them. Natasha pulled up a video. New York being destroyed with a hovering circle in the sky that disappeared into space.
"Banner called and told us about everything. Aliens are invading Earth for some infinity stones. Vision has the Mind Stone." Steve explained.
"Aliens?" You furrowed your brows, looking at her. Natasha nodded. You groaned softly, looking forward.
"Yeah, I won't be home in time for dinner." You sighed. You and the other reached Edinburgh by night time, noticing one of the streets being partially destroyed.
"(Y/N), take care of the fire." Steve ordered. You nodded, standing up and dropping down when the aircraft opened its back. You hopped down, the wind taking you down towards the truck on fire. You moved your hand, spreading your fingers. The fire moved towards you as you absorbed it. You followed the destruction to a subway station, humming.
"They're in here, Cap." You called. Natasha landed the jet as the others hopped down. You crashed through the glass ceiling, using wind to throw one of the two aliens into the air. Sam flew in, punching the alien and sending him flying across the station. Steve and Natasha fought with the other alien before Sam kicked her towards the other one. You made fire balls, keeping them ready in case they fought back.
"We don't want to kill you, but we will." Natasha said. The alien looked at her, scoffing.
"You'll never get the chance again." She replied, placing a hand in her companion. A blue light flashed on them and they were quickly lifted up to a ship. You closed your fists, the fire balls disappearing. You quickly jogged over to Wanda and Vision, the others following.
"Are you okay?" You asked softly. Wanda nodded, wincing as you gently touched the cut above her brow. The root around your wirst reached out, touching the cut and slowly rottening while Wanda's cut healed. She gave you a thankful smile.
"I don't know if I'll be able to heal you, Vis." You told him, helping him up. Sam put one of his arms around his shoulder while you went on his other side.
"Thank you." Vision breathed out.
"Let's get you on the jet." Steve said, turning and leading everyone to the jet. When you entered, you gently helped Vision sit. Natasha closed the back door.
"I thought we had a deal. Stay close, check in, don't take any chances." Natasha turned towards Wanda, cocking a brow. Wanda swallowed.
"I'm sorry." Wanda apologized quietly. Natasha shifted her gaze onto you.
"Nobody likes to snitch on their friends but-"
"I know." You sighed, taking a seat besides Wanda and Vision. Sam piloted the jet to the Avengers tower. You were uneasy, not feeling like getting arrested while Earth got invaded.
"How have you been, (Y/N)?" Vision asked as Wanda tried taking care of his injury.
"I've been good." You smiled. Wanda gave a small smile, looking at you.
"Talking to Bucky as always."
"Barnes?" Vision looked at you in surprise. You gave a small nod, cheeks flushing lightly. You and Bucky were still friends but you felt like there was something more though you didn't want to ask and get rejected. Sam landed the jet at the Avengers facility, the back opening. You and Sam helped Vision up, heading inside. You followed Steve and Natasha to the lab, noticing Secretary Ross hologram. You clenched your jaw, wishing he was there so you could punch him. Rhodes made the holograms disappear, giving Steve a smile and shaking his hand.
"Great seeing you, Cap." He said, giving Natasha a hug.
"You guys look like crap." Rhodes chuckled, looking over you and your friends.
"Surprised Ross didn't arrest you at Bartons place." Rhodes said, motioning to you.
"Clint doesn't mind lying to old assholes." You replied, chuckling softly. Your gaze went over to Bruce. It had been about a year or two since you had last seen him.
"Yeah, I'm- I'm back." Bruce said, nervously looking over everyone. Natasha's gaze and voice softened.
"Hi, Bruce." She greeted. Bruce gave a nod, silence filling the room.
"This is awkward." Sam said quietly. You snorted softly, following Rhodes to an office. You rolled your shoulders, walking to the mini kitchen and getting an apple.
"Where's Clint?" Bruce asked, turning to look at Natasha after being caught up.
"He and Scott took a deal to have their families on house arrest. I'm assuming he lied and said (Y/N) was with Steve and Sam." Natasha said, glancing back at you. You confirmed it with a nod.
"Who's Scott?"
"Ant-Man." Steve answered. Bruce blinked, brows furrowing.
"There's an Ant-Man and a Spider-Man?" He asked, head tilting. You chuckled softly, taking a seat.
"Okay, look. Thanos has the biggest army in the universe and he is not gonna stop until he.. He gets.. Visions' stone." Bruce said. You turned your head, looking at the Mind Stone.
"We have to protect it."
"We have to destroy it." Vision corrected, looking at everyone.
"I've been giving it a great deal of thought about this entity in my head.. It's nature and also its composition." Vision turned to look at Wanda, gaze soft as he approached her.
"I think if it were exposed to a sufficiently high energy source similar to its own signature then perhaps... It's integrity could fail." Vision said softly, placing a hand on Wandas' arm. Wanda shook her head lightly.
"And you with it." She stared at him with a small frown. "We're not having this conversation."
"That's too high a price." Wanda said quietly. You watched them, frowning as Wanda turned and walked away from him, eyes watering.
"Thanos needs to be stopped. One life cannot stand in the way of defeating him." Vision said, staring at his lover with a sadden gaze.
"We don't trade lives, Vision." Steve said, looking up at Vision. Vision turned to face him, walking towards him.
"You lied down your life to save millions of people. Tell me, why is this any different?" Vision asked. Steve face him, sighing softly.
"Because you might have a choice." Bruce said, looking at Vision.
"Your mind is made out of a complex system. Ultron, Tony, me, the stone.. All of them mixed together and learning from each other." Bruce said. Wanda turned, sniffling softly and tilting her head at his words.
"You're saying Vision isn't just the stone?"
"I'm saying, if we take out the stone, there's still a whole lot of Vision left. Perhaps the best parts." Bruce said. Natasha licked her lips, gaze flickering between Bruce and Vision.
"Can you do that?" Natasha asked softly. Bruce frowned, shaking his head. Steve turned his head to look at you.
"I know somewhere." He said. You stared at him before a wide smile spread across your face.
"Wakanda."

The Truth About Jason Biggs' Warm Apple Pie Scene
by Thanos – onin Marvel Cinematic Universe
In the annals of "teenage sex comedies," few have been quite as successful, or well-remembered, as American Pie. Released in 1999, the film followed the hilarious, often utterly embarrassing journey of four high school pals (Jason Biggs, Chris Klein, Thomas Ian Nicholas, and Eddie Kaye Thomas) who make a pact to lose their virginity by Prom night. Flying mostly under radar before its release, the film hit theaters in the summer of 1999, and ended up becoming one of the year's biggest, and most unexpected hits. Sharply scripted and lovingly rendered, American Pie also made stars of its talented young cast. It also made infamous the concept of "warm apple pie." For those who haven't seen the film, "warm apple pie" is how one of the pals in question crassly describes third base to his sex-crazed comrades. If you aren't aware of that little nugget, you probably aren't aware that kooky notion inspires one of the boys to take deeply indecent liberties with a fresh baked pie in the comfort of his family's kitchen.
Captured with surprisingly vivid frankness, and acted with laugh-out-loud hilarity by Jason Biggs and Eugene Levy, the so-called "pie f***ing scene" in American Pie has lived both in comedic infamy and reverence in the more than two decades since the film first shocked the movie-going public. And in that time, all sorts of behind-the-scenes tales have come out about the making of American Pie's most talked about moment. The New York Times even revisited the scene for a revelatory exposé celebrating the film's 20th anniversary. Here's a few things we now know about Jason Biggs' warm apple pie scene in American Pie.
The infamous Pie scene wasn't in the original American Pie script
Even if you didn't see American Pie when it was released, it's all but certain you were aware of the pie scene, because it became an instant entry into the cultural zeitgeist of the time. And if you're among the millions who did see American Pie in its theatrical run, you know it's all but impossible to imagine the movie without it. But as it happens, American Pie screenwriter Adam Herz claims in that NYT piece that the scene wasn't originally in his script.  "[The pie scene] wasn't in my original draft. There was this line somewhere early in the first act where the kids are talking about rounding the bases of sex." Per Herz, the line which inspired the pie humping was actually intended to "show Jim's naïveté but also show, do the other guys know what they're talking about either? I wrote this line 'What does third base feel like?' And Chris Klein was like, 'Warm apple pie, dude,' and he does this gesture. That line always stuck with me."The line apparently stuck enough that Herz and company felt the need to show Biggs' character taking the idea to a wholly unexpected extreme. And Herz goes on to claim the scene became such a seminal part of the narrative it led to the film being renamed.  "If you talk to Chris [Weitz] and Paul [Weitz], or any of the producers, nobody seems to take credit for coming up with American Pie. But I remember at the time thinking [the name] was awful, because I was a huge Don McLean fan. I don't know how Don McLean feels about it, but it worked."
The scene apparently took hours to shoot
In Biggs' comments to the Times, it seems shooting the pie scene was every bit as absurd as you'd expect too. "We did it once where I straddled the counter and the pie on that island in the kitchen. Then we did it a second way where I was doing it standing up. I believe the latter was the version that was in the theaters, and then the former was where I was on top of the counter." Just FYI, the "Unrated" DVD release of American Pie features the counter top version of the scene, and yes, it's even funnier than the original.
The actor goes on to detail that shooting the scene was not only logistically difficult but also time consuming. "Each time it was very tricky. I'll never forget J.B. [American Pie first assistant director J.B. Rogers] would be coming in and would be adjusting my pants ever so slightly [...] It was probably like six hours of doing it from all different angles and all different versions of it."For Biggs' co-star Eugene Levy, it seems the day's work was far less intricate however. "For me it was more anti-climactic than one might think. I walked into the kitchen and I was only looking at a piece of tape marked on a light stand where my son would have been humping the pie. So, I had to react to a piece of tape." It's perhaps a testament to Levy's legendary comedic acumen that even in responding to a piece of tape, he delivers one of cinema's greatest reaction shots. Jason Biggs was understandably quite nervous about shooting the scene
Eugene Levy might've gotten off easy in the moment, but the pie scene was one that legitimately tested the nerve of then-unknown Jason Biggs. The actor admitted as much in the NYT  piece, claiming he almost didn't go through with it, remembering that he was thinking, "Could this come back and just totally haunt me? Am I about to ruin my career before it even starts?' I called my manager, and I was like, 'Man, I am about to go film that scene, and I'm kind of having a bit of a moment. Should I be freaked out?' He was like, 'Jason, you go and [have sex with] that pie with all you got, man.'"
Biggs obviously approached the difficult scene with the laudable verve of a true professional, which is why it continues to earn laughs decades later. Biggs goes on to claim, however, another actor almost performed the act instead."I remember reading the American Pie script. I would've been happy if I had gotten any part. It was like nothing I had read. It was brutal because the feedback I had gotten was that I was the director's first choice, but the studio was still potentially holding out for a name in the role. The name that was I hearing the most at the time was Jonathan Taylor Thomas, who was at the height of Home Improvement fame."It's safe to say that as impossible as it is to imagine American Pie without Jason Biggs or the pie-humping scene, it feels just as impossible to imagine Jonathan Taylor Thomas doing the warm apple pie deed.
Biggs and Eugene Levy are still receiving free apple pie when dining out
In spite of the fact that Biggs' Jim has endured far more egregious humiliations throughout his tenure in the American Pie franchise (see that unsettling Nadia scene, the unfortunate super glue incident, a gross-out beard-trimmer moment, and countless others), the pie-humping scene is the one which as followed the actor most frequently throughout his career. As Biggs told The New York Times, it's also kept him in free pie for the better part of a couple of decades. "For a long time after, and still occasionally, I'll get sent an apple pie at a restaurant. It's definitely not as intense as it was when the movie first came out. That I think is just always going to happen. I've resigned myself to that. I got a lot of pies sent to me."
Perhaps not surprisingly, Biggs' co-star in the scene, Eugene Levy (for whom the movie was a legitimate breakout moment), has seen his share of free apple pie as well. "I still have people stopping me on the street and talking to me about American Pie. To this day, people love the movie. I've had more apple pies put in front of me in restaurants with waiters and waitresses giggling as they set it down."
Luckily, the legacy of the American Pie's warm apple pie scene is one both actors are perfectly willing to embrace. It helps, of course, that so many people still relate to the film on a deeply human level as well. And it seems that much remains true even more than two decades after American Pie first made pie-humping a thing. Seriously though, pie-humping didn't really become a thing, right?
