So I’ve been debating whether or not to ask this question to anyone in the fandom because of how protective people are of him but you seem to be a mature and almost an academic in Beatles history and the psychology of the boys. So I pose this question to you: do you think Paul had a of personality disorder of some kind ? And I really don’t mean this in a negative way I’m just genuinely curious what you think. Paul’s general behavior to me is strange, the way he handles relationships (platonic and sexual) , his grieving process ( i understand that people have a different way of grieving), and just his way of dealing with problems. He’s just so avoidant and almost cold towards things that you would think would break someone.

First of all, I'm not any kind of mental health professional, so this is *all* armchair psychology.

Second: I'd be amazed if Paul is not some kind of (diagnosable level of) neurodivergent.

Third: this is a perfect chance for me to talk about something I've been thinking about *a lot*. You see Paul is extremely successful in many many ways, not least personally. His kids seem to be mostly pretty happy, He's done a lot of drugs but never (as far as I know) needed rehab, never publicly gone off the rails. He had one acrimonious divorce and once called David Blaine a name, but otherwise he's been a picture of stability in the face of unprecedented fame.

My point is: as much as we on tumblr like to analyse his behaviour and slag him off for his avoidance, whatever he's got going on seems to be working for him? Yes avoiding your feelings can have detrimental effects on your relationships (tell people that you love them!). But also, maybe letting yourself be ok with things you can't change is good?

Paul is certainly _weird_ (about grieving, about answering questions, about John), but the concept of disorders exists to help us help people who are struggling. Most of the definitions even include phrases like "to the point where it's causing issues in your life". He's weird, but is it a problem for him? For those around him?

The other thing that's worth keeping in mind is that the Paul we get to see is not the whole of him. He's quite private, despite having been sort of public property for 3/4 of his life. I'd be willing to bet that he's a lot more direct, open, and loose with his loved ones than he is on TV. And probably weirder too.

For me, what it came down to was: what choice would my Aloy have made? I play Aloy as a pragmatist, and I think she would have seen Yarra's plan as the safest for the clan. Sure, Drakka could take over--and be in the exact same position Yarra is in, with added "well. I didn't think I would get this far!" Overall, I saw what Yarra's actions, though secretive and clandestine, as necessary safeguard for the Desert Clan while the issue was investigated.

That's not to say she was completely right, though. The paranoia, the anger/control. And I do love how Aloy pushes back against her, no matter your choice. Both Yarra and Drakka's sides were flawed in different ways, and I saw Yarra's as the clearer way to a good outcome to the water issue.

On a better day perhaps they would have shared a conversation and learned something about themselves. This isn’t a better day.

The knight has a bullet in his shoulder and is losing blood faster than he should be, given his armour. Which means whoever this is is both working with the bats and using live ammo with high-powered armour piercing rounds. He puts two and two together and comes up with Rage.

Red Hood has just spent all night locked in a gruelling cat and mouse with clay face. He immediately clocks this is not a look alike. It is himself who would have killed Andy on a whim. It inspires a self hatred that ignites into fury. He doesn’t care how or why or what differences set them apart. Normally anger sharpens him, makes him smarter, but today he is sleep deprived.

Its a messy fight, and just a little janky because both keep thinking they recognise the other’s gear and moves, only to be slightly off.

Neither is in great condition but snarling and ruthless enough to make up for it. Hood immediately wishes he hadn’t closed range and instead just shot him again, because the Knight is carrying more lethal weaponry than him.

The Knight has incorrectly assumed he’s fighting a Jason who never had a falling out with Bruce and doesn’t know what suffering is. He’s trying to get under his skin about his perfect little life. Being Bruce’s loyal soldier will get him killed.

The mockery doesn’t land.

The Knight’s knife does. Red Hood headbutts him hard enough to make the Knight’s helmet short out entirely.

The Deus Ex Machina Dimension Magic whisks the Knight away a microsecond before he can pull the pin on an incendiary grenade.

Agreed! I can't imagine Carlos saying that about his and TK's relationship. It truly wouldn't make sense.

But he's currently thinking that Iris is missing because of him asking for a divorce and TK pressing the issue. He's dealing with a situation that maybe would never have happened if he just would have dealt with ending this marriage ("let go of a bad relationship") a long time ago.

Then he never would have had to get TK involved at all and it would have saved them a lot of pain. He's upset here, but I genuinely think his anger at TK was short-lived and quickly turned into anger at himself. TK is fearful enough of being abandoned that he's still assuming Carlos' frustration is with him. I really don't think it is at this point. Carlos is scared and self-blaming and wants to fix this all by himself because it's his mess to clean up. He just doesn't know how to reassure TK in the meantime. He doesn't have the bandwidth to see the insecurities in TK right now and find Iris. So everything just comes out wrong.

I mean, what we haven't discussed in all this is that Carlos is terrible when he FEELS blindsided.

I'm not saying he was actually blindsided. TK was the one who was blindsided, BUT TK handles being blindsided better. His parents have been doing it to him his whole life (like moving out when he's not going to be home) and he comes home to find his life altered. Carlos actually aproaching him with the Iris rather than TK stumbling upon it (see season 2 TK asking to meet Carlos's parents several times until they stumbled upon them in 2.04 and everyone was blindsided with awkwarness) and TK handled being blindsided with Iris (because that's still what this was) with grace.

Carlos being "blindsided" with TK visiting Iris (and there was legit not a lot of time for TK to tell Carlos because their conversation got cut off by Iris going missing) during an investigation with a detective, and like...here's the real thing.

Talking to police is never a good idea. 911 Lone Star has a fantasy idea of what policing is (As do all procedurals) but there is no way to talk yourself out of being a suspect in a murder investigation, but there is definitely a way to talk your way into it. And the husband and the fiance of the husband of a missing woman who served her with divorce papers before she went missing and then visited her begging her to sign them is NOT GOOD. Like, that's NOT a good look. They were suspects even though that was a casual conversation in their home, and that's a typical tactic to get people to talk is doing a casual interview rather than a formal arrest if they don't have enough to hold you, because they don't have to Mirandaize you but you are still allowed to keep your fifth amendment right to remain silent. Offering up these details only makes them more suspicious from time to time, especially elaborating. So there's that factor of surprise/upset that could have cropped up in Carlos that moment and caused him to want to get the detective out there and not talk about it anymore. Especially as he and TK aren't married, they can be asked to testify against each other.

Additionally, Carlos was already blaming himself for missing signs, feeling like he handled this poorly and sent TK after Iris because he knows how much TK wants to be married (none of us will ever forget that impassioned proposal) - and if he'd just handled it in time...well...maybe none of this would have happened.

There's so many interpretations, but Carlos has never felt wrong about his relationship with TK. In fact, Carlos has always pretended he could let TK go every time, but it was always a lie. TK has never felt like a bad decision, even when Carlos wanted to talk himself into believing maybe he was.
