i know i've posted abt this before also but i did not have screenshots to demonstrate just HOW gently passive aggressive ingo is to volo when they talk. i have no idea if they intended it this way but he sounds so "sadly my strict standard of conduct will not let me tell you to fuck off for asking weirdly personal questions just so you can share your theories but with the subtext toolkit available to me i am VERY much shooing you out of the way so i can get back to what i was actually trying to do."

awweee hheellllzzz yeeeaaaaa 🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌 Here are some of my initial thoughts 👀👏👏👏👏👏

Norton:

-I feel like Norton wants to be perceived but NOT at the same time lol, he wants his MASK (what he is working so hard to portray) to be perceived not the REAL him or what he is really thinking. So there could be this underlying gnawing that people are seeing through cracks in his mask that he doesn't know about. Worried he isn't masking well enough. -I think he is insecure about his body and how lean it is. Knowing that he should be bulkier but not having enough food for his muscles to be as they should with how hard he works. But he can also use that to his advantage cause it makes it easier for people to underestimate him and his abilities. But it would still suck and not feel good to not be where he thinks he should. -Insecure about eating. He doesn't care about people watching and such, (poor looks his way just fuels his rage and he welcomes that) just insecure about not completely knowing which certain foods will make him sick, cause he might just have to find out the hard way what his body can handle and what it can't. To eat something he always wanted to try only to end up bent over a bucket later cause its such a shock to his system orz

Alice:

-To be perceived as insane. Those at the orphanage treated her poorly (understatement of the century) because of it, she can't risk that again. I wonder and worry that if she is described as 'insane' in earshot that she might go mute again for a short time involuntarily. I can see that as something she might have forgotten about or stopped worrying about for the most part, until she is reminded of it.

-And she probably doesn't want anyone to notice that she does have OCD and such. Since she tends to keep those tendencies limited to her things and her space. But her eyes might settle on something that is bothering her when she isn't on a mission that distracts her from all that. And maybe internally wincing when she realizes she let herself mentally slip.

Orpheus:

-I don't think Orpheus gives two cares about what people think and is pretty darn secure in what he is doing, EXCEPT for when it comes to Alice, I think. He might be worried that he won't ever find Alice again, and if he does, she won't recognize him or worse, won't remember him. That those precious moments were only precious to him. Him spending his entire life trying to get those precious memories back to reality only for him to be the only one that wants them. That would shatter him orz He claims everything he does is for Alice, so what happens when she doesn't care about everything he did for her. oooooh boi (he even tried to adopt her but was denied ah he was doing all he could this entire time ah)

Melly:

-Not having friends or many people in her life. She seems to have that desire and want, but is so jaded after everything that has happened in her life. She protects herself by not letting people see her or get to know her, but this self protection is also keeping her from that human connection that she would like.

-I can see her having some insecurity about her birthmark on her face, but I think she mostly doesn't want people to be able to read her.

-Then of course the given of doing all she can to dodge talking about her past. So that worry of any of that being talked about. Extremely insecure about who she was.

Frederick:

-Worried that he is unwanted, undesirable, by those he wants to care about him (so to protect himself he doesn't want people to care about him or let himself care about others). He has no trouble with ladies fawning over him but that isn't what he wants. He was abandoned and ignored. So if he ever runs into people that he would want to care about him, he might have that gnawing within him that they will abandon him one day, its inevitable.

-Concern that people can tell that he is troubled by thoughts and voices in his head (and worried that his secrets being perceivable in moments of weakness). He definitely wears a mask to seem untroubled and indifferent and simply passionate about music. But that passion is really being desperate to attain peace. And looking desperate isn't a good look. I think he did all he could to seem normal and not embarrass his family, so he has had plenty of practice creating an impressive mask for himself, only to be abandoned anyway (also adds to why I think he looks so exhausted all the time cause it is so draining to never be allowed to be yourself or rest from the voices. Constantly fighting to keep the mask from cracking uhg)

Ya bet she does. Actually, it's something I wanted to talk about for a pretty long time now, but sorta well... Never did xd.

Her main hobbies are learning transfiguration spells, listening to music and making attempts at trying to solve conflicts and issues of other people. But I think she also likes going for walk and reading cheesy novels from time to time although I wouldn't call those her hobbies :"D

But I kinda wanna touch on why she loves transfiguration so much.

I always imagined Melly as someone who had fascination with magic. Especially from a technical approach. As in, she finds it super interesting how magic is produced in the first place and how it's capable of doing the things it does. Even though she was familiar with magic throughout her whole life, unlike many of her peers, this very thing she's used to since she was little is exactly what's most interesting to her. Girl can read through spell books for ages, just to learn how to do certain spells(without actually casting them tho).

So, as of late, I figured that given how she's really interested in nature of magic and it's technicality, the branch of magic she would love most would be transfigurations, the more "scientific" form of magic.

"Haha cuz she's metamorphmagus". Yeah exactly! She was always fascinated by how, unlike me many other people, she was able to transform parts of her body, having an ability to pretty much be able to even camouflage or take on appearance of someone else, which is something she had always practiced and loved doing since she was little. But she also wanted to do the same for other objects too: changing molecular structure of an object and transform an object into something completely different or even into something with life? Holy shit, that's so awesome!

But thing is, transfigurations are notoriously not the easiest to master and Melly, who never says no to a chance to practice them, knows that better than anyone, especially given her terrible luck: does she backfire constantly? Oh fuck yeahyeah. Did it backfire so much to the point she had injured herself and ended up at Hospital Wing? Ya bet! But she never gives up. She will redo the same spell all over again, even if it often goes wrong, even if it takes her days, not until she'll learn or even master it. So her efficiency in them comes from her hard work and constant practice. And well, her enjoyment of it, of course. Same can't be said for subjects she doesn't like //cough/ DADA //cough/

❤️ - What is one of your OC’s best memories?

First thing that comes to my mind is probably her receiving a letter from Hogwarts and well, arriving at it for the first time.

But I also feel like it would be worth mentioning her memories about spending time with her family during Christmas holidays. As much as her relationship with her parents wasn't the best, the moments she spent with them, the family dinners, drinking (at that time) non alcoholic butterbeer, the presents, the shopping around the city centre, it's all just magical.

But unfortunately these memories don't bring her the same amount of joy, despite being arguably her happiest/best ones.

3. Which SMP do you find is the most fun to work with?

ough. I had so much fun working in the dsmp universe that I gotta say that.. it was just so intense and I loved inventing pasts for characters (namely punz)

HOWEVER. I love how versatile the life series smps are, how you can go super serious or incredibly playful, so life smps

i don't know a lot about okami personally, but from the first boss fight i've seen of him, he seems pretty in-line with the kinda dudes that i like. i think his tall sandals are very fun for his design. so like, out of 10? probably a 7. i don't know him that well yet though.

So quick question, seeing as you had a mini timeskip between chapters 5 and 6 to jump past the moment. What exactly was Melli’s reaction both properly meeting the young twins for the first time, to finding out the “ghosts” he encountered were Ingo’s kids? I imagine he had a mini freak-out upon seeing them following Ingo thinking he got haunted/possessed, followed by a moment of bewilderment upon being introduced. (Ask part 1/2)

yeah that character limit will sneak up on yeah, wish there was something I could do to make it longer for people. also IngoYawnAndHeSuddenlyGone, don't know why that just makes me smile, maybe I'm still tired. ^^ rolls off the tongue nicely.

so I did write what happened afterwards, it was just in a scrapped chapter.

basically after the whole meeting in the cave, like you said saw the two following Warden Ingo around and had a mini-freak out thinking that Ingo was basically Haunted/ Possessed/ Curse what have you. so he races off to the Diamond Clan Settlement with "News" that the Pearl Clan were allowing a Cursed/Haunted/Possessed Warden to tend to one of their Nobles and something needed to be done about it.

but by the time he got their and started telling everyone, the twins had already been to Jubilife Village and met Mai (who had stopped into the village to pick up a few things) and Arezu (who works there).

so Melli is there just openly talking about the two ghost kids he saw with their creepy candle in Wayward Cave, and how they were now following the old Warden and that the area needed to be cleansed to remove the ghosts; and that the Great Melli would pick up the slack until a new Warden could be found.

until Arezu and Mai roll up and are like. "were they two ten years old's with silver hair and eyes, look exactly alike?"

"Yes."

"Those aren't ghost their Warden Ingo's kids."

so Melli suffered a little bit of a blow to the ego. finally get back to the Highlands and Ingo is able to take him down to meet the boys. (he'd been trying for a while but Melli had avoiding him)

it is a controlled but strained conversation of pleasantries, as Poor Melli tries to play it cool. luckily Ingo is none the wise to the tales he's been telling and has no idea that the Great Melli got scared of two kids standing in the dark.

Young Ingo was very Polite (as always) he didn't really get a good look at Melli in the first place, poor kid was basically asleep on his feet.

Young Emmet on the other hand very Bluntly says "Your the guy from the cave. Who ran off screaming."

Ingo looks at Emmet to ask what he means, looks back at Melli and the other Warden has stormed off.

BUT LETS START THIS THING WITH NORTON: I think Norton would be a weapon and be absolutely fed up with it and desire to go his own way and be free. Like, he just gets used and tossed to the next person to work with, and that just repeating over and over and over and hating each and every person who has wielded him. There comes the point that he starts killing those who are wielding him wrong/mistreating him. So he gets black listed and hidden away deep in the mines (since he is a wild looking fool's gold-ie like pick axe) until Orpheus pulls him out of the depths~

So Orpheus would make a deal with Norton that if he works with him this one last time then he will help Norton go off and find freedom. So Norton agrees cause anything is better than being stuck in the dark mines.

Its with his partnership with Orpheus that he meets Melly and Frederick. I see Frederick as the wielder and Melly as the weapon cause of Frederick's talent with a gun and the fact that Norton will only listen to another weapon. So, for Melly to successfully persuade Norton she needs to be a weapon lol

But I can see Melly letting Alice wield her in an effort to protect Alice from Orpheus and Norton (but I dunno where Frederick went. hmmmm, retired? lol)

But one thing leads to another and Alice then has to wield Norton because he tells her to so they can go against Orpheus and his twisted nightmare weapon that shares his consciousness (I am breaking the anime lore with this one probably LOL) and she is like "uuuhhh????????"

Anyways that is the short rough draft of my thoughts on this LOL I have been P O N D E R I N G about it HA

Ngl I was hoping someone would actually ask me that :"DD

Ok so I'll start of by saying that when it comes to the creation of fan characters, I usually create them by making "what if" question or by thinking of a character I think would work for the story/the story lacks.

In case of Melly/Willow(real real name btw), it was two "what if questions":

1. " What if there was a character who would befriend Cassandra and help her become warmer and less arrogant, pretty much help her redeem herself, even if only a bit. Especially Hufflepuff character, because Cass is ashamed of the fact her parents are Hufflepuff so it'll be a very sweet irony"

"...Only for that said character to be not as innocent as they appear to be/not who they seem"

You know, stuff I mentioned in a post with her character exploration drawings! :"D (I might reblog it later)

2. "What if there was a metamorpmagus character who hated themselves so much to the point they'd rather live as somebody else rather than themselves?"

I first created Melly (concept wise) solely based on first what if question and her backstory was different, as well as some parts of her personality. Idr if she had a different name at one point but her name was Melissa (or Mellisa) Anscombe pretty early on, although it originally served as a placeholder.

The second "what if" question, however, had been born from a concept I really wanted to explore within my original setting/story (the Yerning Souls/Almas Anhelantes one) , that being the idea of, quite literally, pretending to be somebody else out of self hatred or a desire to be a different person or perhaps someone believing themselves to be someone else entirely. Basically not being who they really are kinda thing. As much as I believe these themes could still be explored, after all the setting in question has a lot of "mini plots" revolving around struggles of several people, I really wanted to make it like a shape shifter sort of situation, "becoming a mask" thing. Which is impossible to happen in of story lore wise. But it wasn't for HP)))

So I ended up fusing the two ideas and I created an absolute mess that is known as Melly :"DDD

Tl;dr: what inspired Melly were my desires for Cassandra's redemption arc and to explore a certain theme.
