I'm most excited to finish The Sign, there's just something magical about that show. I don't know if I told you but you had reblogged a gifset of that series with an underwater dragon looking thing maybe it was a naga but it looked like a dragon and I am kind of obsessed with dragons so that is what started me looking for it and I love it, it's so well done.

Having The Sign (and Pit Babe) on the roster was one helluva way to ring in the new year and I'm happy that you were able to watch it a bit while it was still airing. I long for more overtly queer, fantasy/supernatural media *deep sigh* but I will say that the covert/censored queer, fantasy media we DO have (The Untamed, Word Honor, Guardian, and The Yin-Yang Master: Dream of Eternity) are top tier. Fingers crossed that we get more shows like The Sign in the future. By the way, the dragon thing was a naga which I'm sure you've figured out by now lol

What did you think of Even Sun and Last Twilight? I dropped Even Sun after the first ep, but I always wanted to give it another chance because of Boun and Prem. And Last Twilight is on my list, but I've put off watching it because of the quite a few people were disappointed with the way things went towards the end.

You’ve set yourselves up on a small area of the sand, beach towels laid out and parasols erected to protect you from the blazing sun. Hilda, Dr Cee, Sabrina and Ambrose all sit in a circle on their respective towels, eating ice cream and chatting animatedly. You and Zelda lounge a little apart from them, hands entwined, and you can just make out Zelda's eyes gazing at you from behind her oversized sunglasses.

You sit up, sliding your sunglasses onto your head, and grin when Zelda does the same, eyes roving your body in your bright red bikini. “You need to put sun cream on Zelds. You'll burn within minutes in this heat.”

Zelda feigns annoyance, rolling her eyes, but she smiles at you affectionately. “Fine. But you're putting it on me.” Her brow raises, smile widening to a cheeky grin.

The redhead is clad in a black bikini herself, and you can’t help but practically salivate at the sight. Her pale skin looks flawlessly perfect against the deep black, and she almost seems to glow in the sun, her red hair bright and blazing. You take out the bottle of sun cream, and she hums as you begin to rub it on her shoulders, the alabaster expanse of her back, her slender arms. Her head tilts back and her eyes close when you fix your attentions on her chest, glancing at the others before sneakily hooking your finger beneath the cup of her bikini, swiping at her nipple, and she gasps.

“Naughty.” But she doesn’t protest when you do it again, arches her back slightly into your touch. She shudders when you slather her stomach with the cream, biting her lip to hold back a laugh. She is delightfully ticklish at times, and you graze your fingers up her sides, making her squirm. “Y/N.” She warns sharply, and you laugh, moving to her legs and beginning to rub cream into her calves, and her legs part slightly as you reach her thighs, kneading at the soft flesh firmly as you massage it in, and Zelda barely bites back a groan, releasing a soft strangled whine.

An inflatable beach ball suddenly hits your head, and both of your heads snap round to see that everyone's attention is now on you, and you blush. “Guys! Get a room!” Sabrina shouts, laughing as you launch the ball back at her.

“I'm only making sure your poor Aunt doesn’t burn to a crisp!” You chide, grinning and Sabrina rolls her eyes.

“Yes, I’m sure her inner thighs were at extreme risk of burning.” Ambrose jokes, standing up. “How about we all go for a swim and give the lovebirds some time alone?”

Dr Cee pulls Hilda to her feet. “Sounds marvellous. I’m bloody boiling.” Hilda grumbles, and you watch them all walk away, Sabrina and Ambrose tossing the ball to each other as they go.

“Mmm, peace and quiet.” Zelda murmurs, and she cups your cheeks and kisses you softly, pulling you to lay on the towel with her, and you laugh against her lips as she squeezes your ass.

Later, as it's getting dark, the others decide to wander to a nearby restaurant for a late dinner, and Zelda suggests that the two of you stay on the beach, and you're suspicious of the glint in her eye. The beach has cleared out now as the air has grown colder with the setting of the sun, and only a few far away shadows remain, some way in the distance on the other side of the beach. You are blissfully alone, and Zelda grins mischievously as she steps closer to you, hands stroking up your back and pulling you against her. With one swift movement, she pulls your bikini top undone, and you gasp as it falls to the sand.

“Zelda!” You look around anxiously, covering yourself although nobody is around. Zelda just chuckles, and undoes her own, letting it fall with yours.

“How about we have our swim now, hmm?” Zelda's eyebrows raise, and she licks her lips as she gently pulls your arms to your sides and cups your breasts, grazing her thumbs over your nipples, and you sigh, arching slightly into her touch. Her eyes stay fixed on yours as she slowly pushes her underwear down her legs, and you smirk, biting your lip.

Zelda laughs and pulls you to her, and you let yourself float, and wrap your legs around her waist. The redhead kisses your chest, whispers against it, and a warmth spreads through you, and you groan.

“Thank you. I was fucking freezing!” You laugh, and Zelda chuckles against your chest. Your laugh is cut short when Zelda tugs on your nipple with her teeth, and you tangle your wet hands in her hair. She hums against you, sucks on the sensitive pink bud hard, and you tug on her hair, moaning. “Ze-Zelda.” You sigh, and you pull her head away from your chest, your lips meeting hers in a bruising kiss, a clash of teeth and tongues. The moon is full, the bright white glow reflecting on the water, and as you both stand, waves lapping at your stomachs, you kiss Zelda tenderly, leaning into her.

Far off, at the top of the beach, the others are strolling back to find you both, and they can just make out the silhouettes of your forms in the water, pressed close together in the luminous glow of the moon.

“Aww, look at those two. So in love!” Hilda grins, clasping her hands together.

“They better not be naked.” Sabrina mutters, grimacing slightly.

“They are most definitely naked. Why do you think Auntie Zee wanted to be rid of us?” Ambrose smirks in amusement. “They've been getting each other all worked up all day.”

“Shouldn't we um, not disturb them, then?” Hilda asks, eyes wide.

Yup the linetv version was indeed worse. I found it interesting how Fighter stopped because of Tutor’s words and not because he was pushed away. Apart from the whole bed scene which I hated and I will talk about it more in a different post, I also disliked A LOT how Fighter doesn’t apologize. He cries sure, but he’s crying about the breakup, he doesn’t seem to regret or realize how bad what he just did is.

now that deleted scene makes more sense, it explains a bit more why fighter would completely lose it when tutor uses that kid to make him jealous. tutor's plan and the whole scene following it was bullshit but series add some random shit for drama all the time so why am i even surprised. at least he stopped, they talked and tutor told him off. still don't get why it was necessary. him just breaking down in front of tutor would have been enough.

I know many people are talking about Part 1 as they should for obvious reasons but let's also talk about Part 2 because that was FighterTutor I know and love. Plus Saint was acting so cute like a cat it was adorable and all the little touches between them I just want them to be happy.

I... hated that scene I’m so sorry to disappoint. It felt so out of place after part 1, it made zero sense to have Tutor act that way after what he had said to Fighter and what had just happened. I’ve noticed that fevers tend to be used a lot in bls to show the sick character that this other person is sweet and caring and it’s just so out of the blue and a clear plot device to get Tutor to rethink... It honestly was so unnecessary considering that Zon talks to him after and I’d like to believe that’s what convinces Tutor to maybe fight some more for his happiness. Idk I found the whole chest rub insanely uncomfortable after everything that happened, Tutor was sick and feverish, idk. Also the joke at the start of that scene about Fighter taking advantage of him was AWFUL. WHAT THE FUCK.

the texts say something along the lines of “How are you? I saw you were very sick. I thought about P’Fight’s father. Can I suggest something? I say talk to Fight about his father. There should be a better soultion” (provided by google translate)

Ok, I’ve read chapters 1-11 of The Secret Commonwealth and this is my set of impressions so far. I’m using the audiobook, which is wonderful and I recommend it! Under the cut for spoilery reasons:

First and foremost, the audiobook: Michael Sheen is A-MA-ZING! And because he did La Belle Sauvage too, lots of voices are recognisable and I love it. Pan sounds a lot like young Malcolm, but less sweet and more sharp and snappish and it’s beautiful. Marcel has hints of Bonneville = Papadimitriou aka disgustingly smooth but scholary and witty. Lyra sounds amazing; Alice and Hannah have the same voices as they did in LBS (i love you michael for this). Malcolm has a mix of Coram’s voice and Asriel’s voice, he sounds worldly and sexy scholarly at the same time, I love it! Olivier sounds like a lil bitch.

I love the part where Lyra is telling Miriam about her origin story and it’s added that she wasn’t sure about the horse, but she liked it. She won’t give up on the romantic vibes of Asriel saving her, first the swordfight, now a horse lmao;

“I saw someone being mudered” Pantalaimon no chills lmao I love this adult Pan, he is so special to me, but then again I always loved him and his grumpy mood.

The Hyperchorasmians: this was such a wild moment, I laughed out loud and was like “is this a self meta?” but someone did brought to my attention it may be a self parody, I love it regardless.

Pantalaimon saying "I do exist (...) we exist” and so on, was really powerful, because it feels like a horrible existential crisis and I get his anger with Lyra and I feel his entitled to it. Right now, they’re struggling with their sense of self, yet they are one, and while Lyra finds that concept interesting, Pan is afraid because the same concept suggests he ain’t even real. In our world, our existential crisis consists of asking “do i exist or not?” but in Lyra’s world, is like asking if only a part of you is real and that’s bloody horrible to even think about.

I love how smoothly Pullman retconned Alice’s age, in “Lyra now thought she wasn’t as old as she first thought” like yeah my man, nice try, but I see through the lies of the jedi your retcon, yet I love it all the same lmao I’m glad she’s alive and well.

I love that remark of Lyra having learned how to charm people and manipulate information out of them with her wits and small talk. That’s such a Marisa trait, at least as I always perceived her and it really made be bubbly and cheerful as I noticed that.

I also noticed how Lyra refers to Asriel either by his name or as Lord Asriel, and she still refers to Marisa as Mrs. Coulter, although she acknowledges them as father and mother when other people refer to them that way. I’m a little sad she doesn’t refer to them as mom and dad, but then again i feel like they never earned that treatment from her and I get it.

Pan suggesting Malcolm and Alice may be lovers and Lyra stares at him then ignores him because the mere thought of it it’s inconceivable LMAO

Lyra remembering Asriel’s moonlight walk with her was too much for me, that’s as emotional as I’m gonna get. It really made me sad that Asriel was living hand to mouth and that he left her nothing; to think that his most recent luxury was his house arrest on Svalbard is, well, sad.

On a happier note, Dr Carne supporting Lyra is my favourite thing. He cared enough about her to actually give her a home and support, and I think people should respect him more. This guy is the father Lyra had, however quirky the entire situation was and I have an immense love for this character.

Oh my God, I cannot believe they kept Lyra in the dark for so long. She is so fucking clueless about everything! What is wrong with those people? Tell the girl everything for fuck’s sake! The moment she snapped I snapped too; for fuck’s sake, she should have known about that stuff the moment she came back from the other worlds. Also, the fact she does not know about Asriel and Marisa is infuriating, but that one I can forgive because they kinda did threw themselves into a fucking void and didn’t wanr anyone about it, so...

HOW THE FUCK IS THE MAGISTERIUM STILL STRONG???? I am so fucking angry! I can understand why it takes a long time for them to dissolve entirely, but they are still strong and influential and Asriel’s war was for absolutely nothing. He and Marisa died for nothing, everyone that died there died for nothing and I am so angry because I hate theocracies with every fiber of my fucking being and I AM SO FUCKING SMAD;

Lyra does mention “the witches of the north” and that got me thinking that there may be more types of witches around the world and that not all of them have split daemons. But I don’t know, just a thought.

I only read 11 chapters, but so far I am 95% percent sure Lyra and Olivier are going to end up together by the end of the third book. I will not elaborate on this now since I have very little to go on with, but I will speak more as I read more. I do not approve of this, but I fear this may be the route Sir Phil is going for. I hope I am wrong.

Malcolm’s description of his feelings for Lyra are creepy and cringe. If he only, I don’t know, “discovered” his feelings for her recently, I could overlook it with a certain frown, but he’s been having those weird ass feelings since she was his student and a minor and that’s creepy, to say the least. I know he acknowledges that what he felt wrong was wrong and weird, and wow, thank god, but the fact he indulges himself on those feelings now that she’s older is weird. I feel like Pullman is deceiving us, I’m just not sure. I love Malcolm, I do, and I am slightly attracted to him now lmaoooo but no, you see? No. Not okay, but as I said before, I don’t think they’re ending up together. I hope I am right.

Also the way Pullman describes it lmaoooo “Malcolm Polstead, age 31, was in love with Lyra” or something like that. It was so funny, I felt like I was read a very well-written fanfiction that suddenly the author had a stroke and wrote as if they’re 12 and in love. It was very cringe, I don’t know, I was embarassed on Malcolm’s behalf.

I really love that Oakley Street is still going strong, sort of lol and that Malcolm is now a member and I hope we get to see more of them. I love spies and I love Oakley Street and I’m sad Nugent is dead.

Makepeace referring to Pan as “my boy” warms my heart because it shows the daemons’ treatment we should see and treat them: they are people and they have feelings and they exist and should be acknowledged. I just cherish the whole conflict between Lyra and Pan because this is what it feels so far: the struggle of being who they are and the pain that comes with it.

I have an unpopular opinion here, but I love the relationship between Pan and Lyra; I love their banter, their fight, their anger with each other. It feels right, although I am sad that they are fighting a lot because of the existence business, I think Lyra is really being inconsiderate with Pan. But, I think their constant disagreement is in-character; they always disagreed with each other, they always were very different from each other, so I love that they struggle with that, it’s just sad that they’re bordering on self-loathing and they need to work on that. I want them to find the spark of love they had, but not to the point where they are clingy again; they’re people and they’re different and they are the same person, so they need to come to terms with that. It really hurt me when Pan had to yell that he exists, that hit so close to home and I don’t know, I felt speechless for a moment.

Pan saying: “You are in a world full of colour, and you wanna see it in black and white” was a powerful. I really appreciate how that argument was handled. It’s beautiful and sad and painful to listen, there’s so much emotion in Lyra.

Back to Malcolm, I think that Pullman is going for a weird route here, not gonna lie. But so far I think that Malcolm’s awareness of its weirdness is alright, I think and as long as he never acts on his feelings, we’re gonna be fine. I want Lyra to end her story alone and with a healthy relationship with Pantalaimon, because that’s what really matters in life.

Now, more Oakley Street: I’m sorry but Glenys Godwin is awesome and I am so happy that a woman is the head of my favourite spy organisation, thank you sir phil for this gift.
