i am Extremely interested in the titles of every single one of your wips but i am actually begging you for details on 'Veega my beloved' because she is also my beloved <3 (🤝 our unity bullshit ❤❤)

I’ve had “something Leela/Veega” on my fic idea list since Time War 3 came out....but it’s your fault that this fic has skyrocketed to the top of my priorities now, thank you so much for jumping into this sandbox with me <33

Initially I wasn’t sure whose pov I wanted to write from – we know Leela, we know her baggage going into this world and this relationship, and exploring all those internal emotions could be really interesting? But at the same time we don’t know Veega very well and so *insert “It’s Free Real Estate” gif*

So the project evolved from “something Leela/Veega” to “Veega character study” because I realized if I was writing from her pov, I wanted/needed to know what baggage she’s carrying when she meets Leela, and that means this fic has to be about her life and her backstory. 

I keep thinking about Unity as the end-of-the-line, a place people end up when they have nowhere else to go (I feel like there’s actually a quote about this but I can’t find it right now so it’s possible I made that up?) So I see Veega’s backstory as one of running, of losing one home and building another and losing that one too. There’s tragedy throughout her life, but she keeps choosing to create a home as much as she can wherever she is, and keeps choosing to love even in this universe that’s tearing itself apart. 

And since Veega’s father was a soldier who died in battle (and she references the battle by name when she’s talking to Romana, as if Romana would have heard of it), I see her story as one of running from the Time War specifically – sometimes she’s ahead of it, sometimes it catches up to her and tears at her world.

The fic is going to be structured around that idea of loss and rebuilding – I’ve kind of split it up in my head into the different families she builds throughout her life? So starting off with the family she was born into – her parents, I’ve invented a younger sibling – and seeing where she grew up and what that world and that family was like (I’m thinking maybe she originally grew up on a farm, and so there’s a ‘coming full circle’ narrative with the farm on Unity, and also she’d have certain skills and memories to lean on when she’s starting the farm on Unity later in life?). And then how that world falls apart – the death of her father and something that forces her family to run/scatter in some way (still working on this bit).

For her second family (when she’s a young adult), I have vague ideas for this group of twentysomethings all on their own who become close friends as they’re all thrown into the same work environment or running in the same direction together.....again, a lot of the details of this fic are still tbd. But I think this part is likely to be quite spaceship-based? It’ll depend on what I decide for how she got separated from her mother and sibling and what kind of work she gets involved with (Veega’s work experience/background is something I’m still thinking about).....but if the first part and next part of the fic are very grounded on a particular planet, I like the idea of telling a story here about her finding a home while hopping from place to place – there's never the same ground under her feet, but there are the people she loves around her.

And then we hit Things Get Bad, Round 2. Also very nebulous right now? In general, I don’t want to just kill of or have her get separated from everyone she’s ever loved throughout her life, but she is definitely quite alone by the time she meets Leela so.....yeah it can’t really be a happy backstory?

But I think Rayo’s father is going to be one of the people in that friend group, so there’s some continuity-of-family there? And I can get into the backstory of that relationship, and then how they eventually ended up alone together on Unity. And this is the third family – the two of them setting up this life on the farm, and Veega getting pregnant, and them preparing for this kid who they’re so ready to love and do everything they can to shield from the war.

And then, not long after Rayo is born.....yeah. (This fic really is just me continually ripping the ground out from under Veega’s feet unfortunately, but also that cycle of loss is what I want to explore – particularly because it parallels how Leela keeps losing one home and finding another one, so by the time they meet they’ve both loved and lost so much - but they still choose to love again.)

So Rayo’s father dies, Veega’s alone with baby Rayo on the farm, things are very rough.....and then Leela shows up, injured and alone, running from the city and the slavers she recently escaped from. And I’m going to spend quite a bit of time on this family (of course). The early days: Veega taking Leela in and taking care of her, Leela protecting her and Rayo (if Leela’s way of dealing with grief is throwing herself into a fight, Veega’s is throwing herself into caring for others). Them learning to communicate (bc language barrier – I could handwave it and say the Trell, who must have given Leela the ability to speak the language on that planet in Mother Tongue, left her with that ability – but I want to try exploring the idea of not having a translator?). And the eventual shock of learning that Leela’s from Gallifrey, and processing that (honestly I could write a whole fic just on that, so I’ll probably just touch on it here?). Growing into being a family, falling in love (and I know it’s from Veega’s pov, but I’ll have to at least indirectly touch on Leela’s motherhood-related trauma and initial wariness around Rayo because of it, and Leela’s complicated emotions towards Romana and Narvin and how there isn’t any closure there so it’s hard to let go?)

One thing I haven’t completely decided is the exact relationship backstory I’m going with for Leela and Romana and Narvin in this fic – it’s not something the fic will get into too much, but I’d like to know in my head? But there is a good chance I’ll end up making this fic What We Choose compliant. I want my post-Time War fic to be a WWC ‘verse fic and I want to get into Leela’s grief for Veega in that fic, so it is all nice and convenient if all the fics can co-exist in the same universe, even if the Veega fic won’t formally be part of that series? And I like the idea of there being an overtly romantic backstory there, because then I can explore how not ever ending things with or being able to talk with Romana and Narvin affects Leela re: getting into a relationship with Veega.

I would actually want to explore a different relationship backstory for those three for the Everyone Escapes Unity AU.....but that’s not an active project/as likely to actually get written, so I probably won’t let that factor into things. 

And back from that tangent: so eventually, we once again hit the Things Go Wrong times – the raids keep getting worse and worse. The shadow of the Time War is looming.

Veega gets sick.

I wasn’t sure if I wanted this fic to go right up until her death but I think it will – because I want to touch on Romana and Narvin showing up, and how Veega resents them for crashing into her life but also is glad that they’re hear because maybe Leela will have people to lean on after Veega is gone. Maybe, if they get the TARDIS, Leela and Rayo can run when they need to and continue to keep away from the war as long as they can.

Stylistically, this fic’s gonna be along the lines of knock the ice from my bones or leaned in and let it hurt, with shorter scenes spanning a (in this case very) long range of time. It’s in vague outline stage right now – I’ve got this general structure, but I’m in the process of figuring out what scenes I actually want and making actual proper backstory decisions. It has the potential to end up quite long, but I also don’t want to go overboard – there’s a lot of coloring in the lines I could do in future fics, this one is meant to sort of sketch an outline of her life? So I want to make sure I’m being selective with how many and which scenes I’m including, and if they’re each contributing to the thematic through-lines.

So this fic is gonna take a little while, but most definitely watch this space :)

Guys in Godhead, as you are reading this, officially by September 7, 2017, our most beloved executive minister, Nathaniel Manalo, had been given authorization by Godhead (Matthew 16-20) to extend final redemption and deliverance to all Empire churches, preachers and yokebearers as we have declared them emancipated from the Empire last month. That means that Godhead is formally approving (2 Timothy 2) our actions last month, and as per what we said that this could lead to another Empire branch to follow up the Diocletianites, Godhead Said to Ka Angel that it shall not be the case with us; rather we are now allowed to keep the new inductees with those who are outright Commondominion quarters. Ka Angel asked me to be these inductees' steward under what we said earlier as the clause of the Northern Kingdom and the half-brothers of the Biblical Patriarchs (Genesis 49, Deuteronomy 33). Godhead Said to Ka Angel that it is already enough for the Empire (Jeremiah 23, Ezekiel 13) to contain 4 branches; inasmuch as #GodBigDay could not wait any longer to commence. This undeserving grace rather further enjoins us not to anymore take this grace for granted as the Empire did. Ka Angel further received Word from Godhead that this shall be further confirmed by a sign that we here, 'are not asking for.' (Isaiah 7,55,60) The sign came out to be a vision of the yokebearer Hough family (Julianne and Derek). Godhead understands perhaps (1 Kings 19, Isaiah 40,49) what we here have to deal with (Isaiah 63,65-66) some of you (Numbers 11,14). It really aches my heart guys that some of you have their loyalties effectually dissected by Empire away from proper concentration and consecration (Romans 1, Hebrews 12). Now this is really what we are talking about, the Empire effectually infiltrating us and arresting our onward march as one Commondominion towards our goals for the Godhead (2 Peter 1, John 15, Ezekiel 19,16, Psalm 73, Revelation 14, 1 Corinthians 15). We hate to say that you're near being Diocletianites, nor we can't take those Diocletianites back here with us. (Galatians 2, Hebrews 10, Romans 6, Ephesians 2) We never expected, nor intended this (2 Samuel 24), when we did the decision to open our floodgates to some Empire churches and to all Empire yokebearers last month. Perhaps we are paying the consequences now for that decision, as we need to, just like what the Diocletianites were already doing to us before we knew it (Deuteronomy 32). In the vision given to Ka Angel this September 7th, Godhead Said that we here could save 'whatever' we want 'as long as it is aligned with the Desires of Our Heart', Said the Godhead, as we here 'already know and make known', whether these inductees 'like it or not.' (James 5, Luke 10) Remember that we deemed the Abolish Human Abortion organization as an organization out of all other agencies professing hostility against abortion (some borne by churches that thankfully some belong to us, some are not churches at all), even if this certain organization denies that they are indeed an organization (Job 42), because the Orthodox Presbyterian Church had already condemned them (Romans 12, 1 Peter 4), hence simply we had mercy. The OPC and AHA are both here (Luke 10, 2 Corinthians 3), and has hence to deal with the same fiery misunderstanding some of our messengers and co-shatterers here have with each other (Judges 14,16), but we decided in the Central Administration to honestly plunge right into these certain contradictions not only because we need to set our house first in order before September 9, and we indeed fear being late of necessary actions when we have just let it in past days (1 Corinthians 5, Ezekiel 18, Matthew 3,11,17, Ecclesiastes, Ephesians 5, 2 Peter 3, 2 Corinthians 12-13, James 1, Acts 17, Romans 2) but also that we need to all the more guard ourselves from anything Empire would hurdle in the way of our strides towards that day especially that we have included Empire people in our jurisdiction (Hebrews 3-4, 1 Corinthians 6). Not of course that we are giving in to the Empire in our battle against abortion, but that of course we fear that desperate as we are to win this fight as in all other endeavors we address here, we are already calling to other gods, and that of course Empire gods, because there can never be more than one God here (2 Chronicles 24-26, Galatians 4), just to make ourselves look presentable to people (Colossians 3, Isaiah 51, Galatians 1, 1 Thessalonians 4). As we have told you the OPC had condemned their brethren here. In turn the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches, who also belongs here, had endorsed the ecumenist Graham family. (That's why we ask you to stay guard where we fail to do it and tell us what our branch churches are doing so that we may hold them accountable as necessary.) Perhaps the Papist #FranklinGrahamis so glidingly happy now with all the #attention he gets from some of our brethren who professes to be pro-unborn, anti-Muslim, pro-biblical marriage, and even co-shatterers with expertise in prophecy (Matthew 7). Some of our street preachers would preach the Godhead that Franklin Graham and his Vatican allies are teaching, hence sending the wrong signal (Galatians 1-2, Matthew 5-7,15, 2 Corinthians 11, 2 John 1, 1 Corinthians 8). Some of the professed anti-abortion guys (AHA excluded), who identify themselves to be Empire-affiliated, rather turn to the saints of the post-1965 Vatican for help, the very saints that some of our street preachers would back and forth love and abhor (Hosea 11, Hebrews 10). Some of the anti-abortion guys who identifies themselves with us, AHA included, seems to now try playing fire with Empire agenda such as black supremacy. It seems that we have to see yet more aggressive actions from them (Psalm 41), that we now enjoin them and these Franklin Graham- orientated, purported 'street preachers' to join our more faithful and outspoken street preachers, in storming more than ever before each and every Empire public event of any nature or genre, most especially any Empire event that includes over-mis-dis-abuse and unjust claim of yokebearers. Maybe perhaps these 'street preachers' would care to storm any Franklin Graham and friends event to expose their Popish agenda, or not? These pretentious, rather, these Diocletianites, must recall what their fellow Neronians had declared way back the turn of the past decade, that the Empire by that time, 'has already been able to accomplish the Great Commission, given its grip across the world, has already been able to make the Gospel known to each and every person in the planet.' So why hence the need to further fool and lure people with a 'godhead' Franklin Graham introduces which is not really the Godhead that the Bible teaches? Now Franklin Roosevelt, I mean Graham (Roosevelts are Empire people by the way, one of our men even compared them to Belshazzar), would perhaps tell me back, 'how about the Commondominion receiving priests who subscribe and adhere to her purposes? How about Joseph always quoting Empire papers to assert his wright to preach?' (Genesis 27) Franklin, the ways and ends we do things here is not definitely your causes. (Isaiah 55, Psalm 103) We don't lure people here; in fact, priests find their way here not because we told them to, or even perhaps somebody approached them or infiltrate them like you would always do to any Commondominion challenge against Vatican over history, but because simply (Judges 5) Godhead had put it in these priests' hearts to understand (Ephesians 3) their need for us (Isaiah 60-61,66, Jeremiah 29-33). In other words, we're not begging here for allies (Galatians 4) like you would, they in fact are begging to join us ;). And who are we to refuse them? Because they see that we're not going to stab them in the back or fool them like the Magisterium would (John 13,3). We further are quoting Empire to show the people who you fool that you endorse us by the way. In fact, we are already been endorsing you through our double connotations. In this teaching clause we endeavor to meet any Empire claim against us, as well as guard ourselves against abuse through check and balance, and to plunge people into depth of Scriptures insight that you would not honor them as you want to fool them and make them stuck in your thoughts. In double connotations we denote that one negative or positive mention in Scripture could be both applied to (Matthew 5) us here and to you there (Luke 16). We're not asking you favor, even though Empire has already said that we must (1 Corinthians 9). We're just simply loving our enemies, as you invoke (Isaiah 47-48,37, Daniel 1-2,12, Matthew 3,5,11,13,15,17). As Lindsey said, the best way to shatter the Empire is to start deep within it, not outside. (2 Corinthians 10, 2 Timothy 2, Romans 8, Galatians 4, 2 Samuel 20, Judges 9, Proverbs 18, Joshua 2,6) Now we would like to expose why Franklin Graham is bent to usurp our newfound unity here together in the Commondominion of Christ (Psalm 133, Romans 16, Philippians 1)- he is doing it just to offer something to his gods on the occasion of his father's birth centennial on November 7. Mere reason not weighty to give into. Take note this- he's offering this up to Ed Sheeran, the Constantinian demigod. Remember his album is entitled #Divide, and he's going to be here in Manila on November 7 itself, while he's going to be in our very own Singapore on November 11, anniversary of Ka Sykes' album. You could see hence the Abomination of Desolation against our institutions. Hence, there's nothing we should thank for this crisis but you, o Franklin Graham, son of the devil, enemy of everything that is Godhead's (Matthew 21, Acts 8,13-14,16,18-24). To quote one of your friends, Mr. Crouch, 'devil, you're not going to win, you have to lose this war in Jesus' Name.' Yea, Franklin, you better off take your hands away from us because you're going to be in a situation worst than the #GreatTribulation (Revelation 2-3, Isaiah 24, Ezekiel 32) very, very soon, even this very month. You're not going to take our brethren with you and your friends to hell. We're going to take them away from you because (Job 37,42) you unjustly treat them as spiritual retards when in fact they deserve better than you, and that better is us, because Godhead Said so. What you do, Franklin and friends, is as bad as abortion, Jihadism, sodomy, black supremacy and mocking prophecy combined. As for all of you brethren, please, refuse to be Diocletianites. Stay away from all these ecumenists of the Empire and fight them with all Divine Might (Titus 3). Remember that we had all gathered here not for the sake of the Vatican, but rather to be saved from their lies and to clearly set line between who's of Godhead and who's of mere demoniacal mortals. Please, we don’t want you to suffer the fate of Diocletianites who fell out of Godhead's Protection after refusing to honor people with the full truth just like what the Empire does (Revelation 2-3, Jeremiah 16, Romans 9-11). We had already been divided apart from the Empire (1 Kings 11-12); let's not further divide ourselves apart from each other and the Godhead now #morethanever that our salvation is just hours away in definitive timelines (Romans 12-13, Galatians 5-6, 1 Corinthians 5-6, Exodus 20, Joshua 21-24). Let's prove to be worthy of the Divine Grace that we receive continually here, and let's stay all with each other (Micah 4, Zechariah 3, Isaiah 2, 1 Samuel 30) as we here at your Central Administration pledge that we shall never depart from your sake. We have nowhere more to go guys but here alone (John 6,15, Psalm 73, 1 Corinthians 8,12). We love you so much guys.
