Hey, hi, hello, thank you so much 💜💜💜 It's absolutely cool to ask about my creative process. Here ya go, babes.

For the whole HRFH series, it comes around because of my headcanons. In a lot of fandoms I've been in, I naturally develop many headcanons, and for the most part I like to stick to what's possible in canon and rooted in that universe's world. This time, I wanted to justify to myself how on earth Simon would ever agree to join the monarchy to fulfill my hopeless romantic self, and thus the first story was born.

From then on, my mind worked overtime. It came up with headcanons for the littlest things, and I felt the need to have it written down by parts. When I wrote the pre-wedding one, my mind already knew how some of the proposal would pan out, even if I only posted the proposal over a year later (checked the dates for this and omfg wtf do u mean a year). It all fits together because my mind likes to have one Main True Headcanon™ to fixate on.

I was not planning on an Easter proposal though hahahaha. My mind just decided that they would be engaged for fourteen months and would get married in the royal wedding date in June, so yeah, the math points to an engagement in April, but I didn't connect the dots until I sat down to write it and was like - what if... omg what if it's literally over Easter? And omfgggg Easter is about resurrection and rebirth and shit and that's kind of so meaningful for this, holy shit???? I started it in January, with no intention of waiting till Easter, but then my thesis happened and I only finished it in March, so I decided to make it *extra* and wait till April. The funny thing is that the baby fic I mentioned has been half-written since I wrote the wedding, because my mind has the headcanons down in stone and I just have to make them work in real life.

I have a few scattered one-shots in the YR universe that are scenes that wouldn't leave my head when I watched/rewatched the show, and those are pretty much spur-of-the-moment fics without much preparation. The creative process is get this idea out of my head.

Lastly for this, in the YR universe, my beloved Simon gets injured fic (I literally get whiplash every time I see the stats on that, because holy fuck, but ANYWAY). This one got inspired by real life. I rarely ever weave my medical background into fics because it mostly feels forced, but I just had dozens of bruised brains around me at work when Wilmon invaded my thoughts and I found a way to make two of my passions coexist. It's not about one single case, but more like a few of my patients put together like puzzle pieces, with an extra dash of drama for the story's sake. I want to finish the sequel to get it out there because I feel like it touches on the subject of recovery from something like that - how a situation in a random moment can snowball into a condition that you'll likely have for the rest of your life. I see many people with post-traumatic epilepsy - many young ones, my age, younger than me - and their story deserves to be told. I might just borrow Simon for that.

my advice: the block feature is your friend!!! a lot of people don't even realize this exists, but in the top right corner of an ask message (click the three dots) you'll see an option to block the user, even if they're on anon. it will IP restrict whoever is sending the anon messages. they can keep sending them but you will never see them - that's my #1 tip. and don't be afraid to turn off anon if it gets to be too much 💜

keep doing what you're doing and remember nothing on the internet is as ~important~ as it can seem - whether that's in a good way or a bad way, you know? we're all just here to escape for a bit and have a silly fun time. and thank you for the kind words on my writing!! 🫶
