rui kamishiro, a name you were familiar with. you two never really spoke, but were familiar with each other. you occasionally heard his names while walking in the halls of kamiyama. he earned a reputation for being 'weird', and for being an 'inventor' hearing this, you were shocked. you were an inventor yourself, and you've seen some of his inventions in person.

you were jealous, yes. you wanted to make an invention that would be one day be better than one of his own. but, you had competition. so, when you had the chance, you would always try to invent something that would be better than one of his own. you never really talked to him properly, but you already didn't like him for no reason.

rui kamishiro, who took note of this, would watch you do this, with a smile planted on his face. he had an idea, of which he'd put a note in your locker and meet with you. you didn't know of this, so when the day came and you opened up your locker, you were surprised to see a neatly folded note fall down. opening it, you read line through line.

running over to the rooftop, in hopes to see the stranger that asked you to meet them.

you were shocked to see someone you've heard of.

"you wanted to meet me?" you ask, walking over to him. he nods and smiles. "so i've heard, you're also an inventor, no?" he states while looking down at you. you nod hesitantly. "may i see an invention of yours?" he asks while looking towards your bag. holding your bag, you slowly take out an invention. he hums in amusement as he gently holds it. handing it to you, he raises an eyebrow. "why do you want to be better than me? you know, you're already good yourself." he says.

you look at him wide-eyed. were you really obvious? "my apologies, don't take that the wrong way. it was merely a compliment." you sigh in relief as you look down embarrassment. he was a nice guy, and you don't even know why you hated him. "say, y/n, would you like to be my friend?" you look at him shocked, and blush. "yeah, sure whatever.." you say with faint pink dusted on your face.

tsukasa tenma !

tsukasa tenma, that's the name of your best friend's brother. you both were nice to each other, but were a teensy bit jealous of each other. saki would always talk about you to tsukasa, which he didn't like to admit, got him jealous everytime. but on the other hand, saki would always talk about tsukasa when she's talking to you. so, you both had a playful-rivalry.

you always denied your crush about tsukasa, as he did the same thing to you.

you knocked on the tenma's household door eagerly to see your best friend. when the doorknob started twisting, you were excited to see saki. but, you were shocked to see tsukasa instead. "y/n?" you walk in and look around. "where's saki?" you ask, tugging at his arm. "she's out with her other friends, she'll be back soon though-"

you sigh and sit down on the couch. "what are you doing?" he asks, sitting down beside you. "waiting for saki to come." you reply, yawning. he sighs and scratches his neck. "you know, saki's always talking about you." he says, trying to start a conversation.

"oh really? she always talks about you all the time.. it make's me so jealous,," you say, but the last part more quiet. he looks shocked, and chuckles. saki wasn't here, and tsukasa doesn't get the chance to talk to you much. he thought, that now would be a good time to tell you his feelings, right? coughing abruptly, he mumbles, "i don't like admitting this, but i like you." you turn your head at him and look at him wide-eyed. he liked you? you both look at each other in silence.

you kiss his cheek quickly, and turn away. "i like you too, okay? let's not talk about this to saki, you hear me?"

toya aoyagi !

toya aoyagi, a boy you knew. you considered him a 'friendly rival', but you had a crush on him. how is that even possible, you thought. he's a really good singer, and you two both reached to be better than you ever were. that's what you both had a small rivalry on.

you walked around the city, looking at the moonlight illuminating upon you. smiling, you stop yourself. you go towards the sound of the familiar voice singing on the street. you see the person singing, the familiar boy, toya aoyagi. he was singing alone?

you don't even realize it, but you seem to be getting drawn to his singing. forgetting about your surroundings, and only focusing on him. he looks towards your direction and winks, before singing again. you feel yourself blush,

what was this feeling? no way, no way this is happening, you thought.

you don't realize that he's done, and he walks over to you. "you came to listen to me? i remember you saying that you didn't have time to listen to a person like me." he teased. you blush and huff. "whatever, i just happened to pass by." you say while crossing your arms.

he smiles and looks around, checking if anyone is looking. "i like you y/n, even though you may not feel the same way." he whispers into your ear as he gently kisses your cheek. you look at him with a flustered face, and smile. "i like you too, but just don't tell anyone okay? i'm still making it clear you're my rival,," you mumble while following behind him.

he chuckles, "i'm looking forward to that, y/n"

akito shinonome, a known street singer. you both wanted to surpass rad weekend, but he misunderstood you. he thought that someone like you, wouldn't surpass rad weekend. as you thought the same about him. making you guys rivals. scoffing at each other every time you saw each other.

you were walking with an in kamiyama, and bumped shoulders with someone. taken aback, you apologize to the boy. muttering a short 'sorry' before talking back to an, without giving it a second thought. "ah, akito!" an shouts at the boy. akito? that name sounded familiar.

an grabs your arm and pushes you towards the boy. "have you met y/n before?" she asks, looking up at the slightly taller boy. he raises an eyebrow and looks at you, and goes wide-eyed. "we've met before, right?" he says, calming down.

you look at him, and study him. akito? oh. akito. your rival.

you scoff and look away at him. "i suppose." akito groans and puts his hands in his pockets. "isn't y/n the one you're always talk-" an starts, but akito quickly hushes her. "shut it, shirashi" akito threatens with slight red cheeks. "whatever" you mumble. "what? you guys rivals or something? akito sure describes you differently" an says with a curious tone. you look towards akito and question him, "what's she mean?" akito looks away.

"no clue" he says. an scoffs and continues walking ahead, with you both following behind. "you talk about me, shinonome? what, bad things?" you scoff teasingly and punch his shoulder. in which, he just stays silent. "of course i do, how could i not? i mean you're a decent-" he catches himself, and stops. "what was that, hm?" you say with a playful tone. "nothing, be quiet." you smile slyly, maybe he wasn't so bad.

"you're cool, i guess." he whispers to you. you smirk, "you're not too bad yourself." you reply, putting your hand up for a high five. he looks at you and smiles, before slapping your hand and holding slightly. you both don't seem to notice, but slightly start touching hands.

but, you both didn't seem to realize that you both liked each other just yet.

you have nations and former gods at your feet, desperate for forgiveness and approval, and yet, much to everyone’s chagrin, your gaze always returns to a certain pink-haired girl and white cat. they don’t even worship you! they’re blasphemously casual with you, treating you like a fellow human instead of the god you are. maybe they could have the excuse of arriving from another world, but even in that one, you are a deity! yet they are the ones who you reach to, the ones who get to stay by your side above all of your acolytes.

the worst part is that they’re kind. they don’t flaunt their relationship with the creator, even though anybody would kill to be in their place. they don’t try to monopolize your time, happily stepping away to let your followers spend time with you if they ask peacefully (not that they have anything to worry about. everybody knows that you’ll always return to them).

on the other hand… nikki and momo are polite (well, nikki is, at least), but very protective. it’s rare that they’re not with you, but if you do have to be separated for whatever reason, nikki reminds you that you have your designer’s reflections ready to help you with anything you might need, while momo promises to bring you the best snacks he can find.

when they are with you, it’s as if you have two bodyguards. if somebody tries to push the edge of your boundaries, they’re suddenly met with nikki’s stern face, planting herself in between you and the offender with her usually soft, warm eyes turning hard. an unspoken warning not to get any closer. momo scolds the offender with all the indignation in his chubby little body, paws flying around as he yowls “is this how you treat your creator? so rude! so thoughtless!”

they’re a bit more forgiving if somebody makes you flinch, whether it’s by their mere presence or some movement that was too fast or too close. and by “forgiving,” i mean they’re not openly confrontational. nikki pulls you away under the guise of needing some advice on her latest design (“there’s nothing better for inspiration than new scenery!” she says as she pulls out her journal and pencil). momo is quick to perch in your arms, curling up and purring as loud as he can - if you call him a cat, he’ll scowl, but won’t argue for once, just purring louder.

the message is clear: if you want to get near the creator, you need the approval of their companions. it’s not the hardest thing to do - nikki is, by nature, soft and gentle, and momo is easily swayed by food - but it’s just as easy to lose that trust. they would never take any chances when it came to their friends, especially a friend as dear as you.

(ough nikki designing clothing and asking you for help…. after all, you made such a pretty world, and she knows how wonderful you are at styling already!)

perhaps it was the post-midterm restlessness. perhaps it was the fact that it was a friday evening and there weren’t any more exams to study for next week. or perhaps it was because the ever-responsible, ever-diligent class president iida had matters outside of school to attend to, that led to this – half the class being banned from using their quirk for three days for participating in a water fight in the dorms.

and with your weather-based quirk that soaked everyone to the bone with a fridge-sized rain cloud you summoned up, you were definitely not exempted from this punishment, leaving you with a sticky and unsightly quirk-nullifying patch slapped onto your arm by aizawa-sensei and an order to stay in your rooms for the next three days.

well, you guess it could be worse. your patch, about the size of a bottle cap and patterned with pastel blue and yellow stripes, was certainly easier on the eyes than bakugou’s hot pink patch dotted with sleeping kittens. (you expect aizawa-sensei plays favourites, not that you care – seeing bakugou get mad at a little hot pink sticker on his arm was pretty darn funny.)

what wasn’t funny was the alarming text you got from shouto as you were getting ready for bed. as you were reaching over your nightstand to switch off your lamp, your phone pings with a distinct text tone – a light, tinkling sound that your boyfriend picked out himself. and you’re almost embarrassed at the way you dived for your phone at the foot of your bed.

you’ve spoilt me – i can’t sleep without a goodnight kiss. what should i do? reads the text. you smile at the simplicity and sincerity embedded in the message.

but your initial excitement was quickly overcome with guilt; because it’s true – you have spoilt him with goodnight hugs and kisses, and it’s your own foolishness that will have shouto staying up late tonight. and given how you probably won’t be able to sleep without having your own share of goodnight kisses too, you suppose you won’t be falling asleep anytime soon.

but what can you do? blow him a kiss over the phone and ask for one back? send him some smiley, kissy emojis and call it a day? hit record and send over a video? (the thought of it makes you cringe. sure, you loved shouto dearly, but you would rather eat a sock.)

another loud ping breaks your train of thought.

with ochako’s help, you manage to float onto shouto’s balcony, gripping the edge as tightly as you can to stop yourself from floating away into the next hemisphere. a thumbs up lets ochako know to let you down, and you find yourself flopping clumsily onto the floor of his balcony.

as promised, shouto’s gone to sleep: the light under his curtains has gone out. but you knock anyway and pray that he’ll respond.

a moment passes before you hear the shhhhhhick of his screen door sliding open. enter: one sleepy shouto rubbing his eyes, confused, while the hair at the back of his head sticks up adorably.

“how did you get up here? and what are you doing here, love?”

“i’m here to give you your goodnight kiss, of course.”

so with adrenaline flooding your veins and the cool night air kissing your heated skin, you pull him in and meet his lips. shouto melts into you immediately, love-struck and relieved to have you in his arms one last time before the day ends. a cold hand – must be his right one – slips behind your head to massage at your neck, and all the leftover stress from midterms dissipates immediately.

the kiss is relatively chaste and sweet, the two of you simply content with being near each other. eventually, shouto pulls away to look at you, thumb swiping over your bottom lip as an amused smile stretches across his pink lips. “you know, we’d be dead if someone catches us up here.”

The internet is an amazing thing. It’s a modern library of Alexandria, an endless source of information and knowledge from every corner of the world. It allows people separated by miles and miles of land and ocean to communicate with each other, to reach out and touch the lives of others in a way that would have been unfathomable even a few decades ago. 

It allowed Kim Taehyung, when he was young and isolated and lonely, to reach out a shaking hand, to try and find someone who was reaching back. Weird, the other kids called him, alien, freak, each whispered word another needle into his pin cushion of a heart, causing him to fold in on himself, awkward and shy and sad. But on the internet, no one knew he was—no one could make jokes about the curve of his ears, too big for his soft, child’s face. No one could hear the way he spoke, words slurred into each other, speech messy in his excitement. No one could join in with the jeers and jibes that surrounded him, leaving him hurt, just because he was himself.

And he’d found you. Someone else his age, reaching out a hand, the two of you excited about the same things—hastily typed messages in the chatbox of an anime site, screeched enthusiasm about flash games and music and more besides, two kids finding friendship when everything else in their lives was so empty, so lonely.

Kim Taehyung has grown into his ears, his face, personality morphing from stilting clumsiness into something far more charismatic; he’s always been himself, unashamed and unabashed in his openness, but with age comes maturity, and he knows how to carry himself now. Knows, too, how to ignore the raised eyebrows and side glances from people who refuse to understand him and who he is.

But before all this, before he’d learned how to ignore those silent daggers, before he’d found friends who love him and care for him—you had been the only one who listened. And you still listen, too, always always always; days turned into weeks into months into years, keeping in touch as time passes, moving with each other from messenger to messenger, Skype and KKT and Line, his oldest and dearest friend. It was so natural. (And it still is.)

He knows that people find it weird. Peculiar. It’s been so, so long, and the two of you know each other intimately, late night talks spelling out the mutual depths of your loneliness and despair (being a teenager is so, so difficult, so much harder than people realise or care to remember)—Taehyung doesn’t shy away from opening his heart, spelling out his emotions, but there’s a level of history the two of you share that he’ll never find with someone else.

And yet for all this closeness, there’s still a level of removal, anonymity. You’d made a pact, right at the beginning, years and years and years ago, to never share your faces—to only judge each other on the contents of your personality, your heart and soul, not to have it coloured by anything else. He’s heard your voice, and you’ve heard his. His phone is full of photos you’ve sent him, sunrises and flowers and cute dogs you’ve seen on the street. Taehyung knows all of your deepest secrets, things you’ve never told anyone but him—but he doesn’t know the colour of your eyes, your hair, how your lips curve when you smile, how your hands move when you talk. He knows your name, holds your heart in his hands, cradles every story you’ve ever told him in the curve of his palms—but he could pass you in the street and be none the wiser.

But he loves you. He knows he loves you. It’s impossible not to, not to fall hard and deep for this person who cares for him so much, who’s always been there for him, even when no one else had been.

He knows he’s handsome and good-looking now, is reminded of it constantly, from the looks that people give him, the words they send his way, confessions of ardour and wide-eyed compliments—but he’ll never forget how people looked at him before all this. It’s all fake emotion, based on something skin-shallow, and Taehyung doesn’t like it. Doesn’t like that people are only nice to him because of his pretty face. You, though, love him regardless, are kind and soft and sweet because of everything inside him. Not the things that other people see. Not the things outside of his control.

So when this message comes through—a shaky, tentative thing, so unlike every other word you pen to him—his heart leaps into his throat, almost choking him, so strong and aching for you.

I’m moving to Seoul, you say. You don’t have to, but I was wondering if you’d like to meet?

Yes, yes, a thousand times yes. 

Jimin startles and Jungkook raises his eyebrows when Taehyung makes a noise of delight, lifting his phone aloft as he spins in an exuberant circle before collapsing to the ground, overcome and overwhelmed with the weight of affection and tenderness he holds for you.

You agree on a date, a time, a place. Taehyung’s thumbs shake as he types his replies, asking how he’ll know it’s you.

I’ll be wearing a flower crown, you decide, and Taehyung could yell with how cute it is, how cute you are. He doesn’t know what you look like but he knows how cute you are. He always has.

I’m going to hug you when I see you, he says, and you reply with a torrent of laughing emojis and hearts.

I wouldn’t expect anything less, you reply.

And when the day finally comes, years and years culminating in this moment, Taehyung is nervous. He’s a tumble of excitement and anticipation and nerves, staring at himself in the mirror, fiddling with his collar, the ends of his sleeves, even if Jimin slaps his hand and tells him that he’s fine. But even though Taehyung knows that you love him, and he loves you—you both say it often enough, your friendship steeped in tenderness and glowing affection—he’s worried that he’s not good enough. That you’ll take one look at him and see past everything, see the child he used to be, weird and stupid and lonely, and realise that you’re too good for him, have always been too good for him.

I can’t wait to see you, comes the message, just at the right time, like it always does. Because even with everything that separates you, you’ve always known Taehyung—have weaved this level of connection with him, these unseen threads that tie you together. It soothes his trembling fingers and smooths the crooked line of his mouth, twisted with discomfort as it was.

And when he finally sees you—he knows that everything is going to be okay.

You’re beautiful. Of course you are. Pink roses and cherry blossoms and daisies circle your head, a pretty halo that’s set on the softness of your hair, drawing Taehyung’s eyes like a moth to a flame. He has to stop in his tracks and stare at you, take in every detail he’s imagined over the years, turned into something physical and real and even more amazing than anything his mind could conjure—because it’s you.

And when your eyes lock, Taehyung falls, falls, falls. You notice the flowers pinned to his chest, the boutonniere he said he’d wear to match yours—and then your face lifts into the brightest smile he’s ever seen, golden and shimmering, an aurora of happiness that’s there because of him.

“Taehyung?”

Oh, his name sounds so sweet in your mouth, without the filter of the phone or computer, crystal clear and shining.

“Y/n,” he says, and then he’s hugging you.

You fit into his arms so perfectly. You cling to each other tight-tight-tight, unwilling to let go, his boutonniere crushed and your crown sliding askew as you hold onto him and let yourself be held. There’s no more distance between you, now, not a single space between your body and his as you rock against each other, swaying on your feet.

“Hi,” Taehyung murmurs, petals of your flowers trembling against his breath. “Hi, hi, hi.”

“Hi,” you laugh, warm in the hollow of his neck. “Hi, Taehyung. Hi.”

“Me too,” you say, making no moves to pull away, making no moves to slide out of the circle of his arms. “Me too.”

And though he doesn’t say those three words—that secret that you both know, both feel, don’t put a voice to, not with the depth of emotion you both feel, not yet—they curl around you, between you, settling in every part of your bodies, curling up the edges of your lips as you both smile, softening the corners of your eyes at you stare at each other, solid and present and right there.

When you meet him in the living room he’s already at the speakers and scrolling through his phone to find a song

You’re both getting in position to slow dance and you’re just like

“This is the cheesiest you have ever been today,,,, are you sick?”

The familiar first guitar strings of “Photograph” start playing and he softly smiles at you

You’re both looking at each other so fondly and you barely notice how he lifts you back up bc you’re both leaning in

One arm is holding your waist up, and the other is caressing your cheek as your lips meet

His soft kiss has you weak in the knees despite how you should be used to them by now but he always takes away your breath every time

You break away, your foreheads touching

Hihihi!!! What brushes do you use in fire alpaca??  i dont do much in firealpaca (esp not lately lol) but when i did use it a lot i just used the fill bucket and the standard/default brush to fill in gaps n such lol! i dont really draw in it, i used flash/adobe animate for the lineart and just fill in color in firealpaca :3

when did you start animating?   uhh when i was around 11 or 12 when i started digital art i guess? i just used photoshop for the longest time then got flash when i was like 15 or so

 How did you get flash?  i got the creative cloud dealie, its technically required for my school :—-0

 how many fps do you use for your wiggly animations? i work at 24 fps in flash on twos but just end up using photoshop’s 0 second frame delay/ “no delay”?

i really like your art style gosh darn!!! everythings so fluid and stylized and nice aaa (also ur animations are goals) do u have any tips for someone still developing their artstyle????  WAH TYSM!!!!! compile art you already like and incorporate aspects from their styles into yours, BUT dont limit urself to one style! if u like something then try it out! do straight up copies (as PRACTICE, DONT CLAIM IT as your own ofc) of stuff you like to see how they work and what you’re clicking with. spending time on fundamentals is MEGA helpful so keep going back to that too! USE REFERENCES!!! draw …from ur soul…what makes u ..FEEL good

 how do you make that burn effect on your lineart? it makes it your pieces look sharper and even more interesting, it’s super cool!!  when i used to use flash for lineart and firealpaca for coloring a lot, setting the lineart layer on BURN with the coloring layer seeping a lil past the lineart would get this effect automatically 

(like on the whiskers. u can see it gets a brighter brown(?) and the warmer yellow on the ears)

but since then i’ve been using sai+photoshop more so i just do it manually! i’ll use this funny pic of me and my cat as an example lol

^i select the lineart/everything i want the funky color around

^slam that INCREMENT button a couple times

^make a new layer under the lineart

^fill that puppo with ur preferred color! something brighter works best, or even straight up white

that’ll give you something like this

then i open it in photoshop

and i mess with the pink line layer’s blending mode..color burn usually does the trick but depending on the Look you’re going for, saturation, multiply and overlay have some similar effects that look cool. 

i also usually get rid of the outermost edge of pink line that’s visible around the lineart, just so it looks a little cleaner? to do that you just select around your lineart, increment/expand selection, and delete/erase in the selection of the pink line layer

uhh yeah! lmk if anyone needs clarification on this, i have some other #TIPS on makin ur art look crusty and funky so…lemme know if you’re interested :—3

What do you use to animate? And, a more specific question, how do you make transparent animated gifs? adobe animate 2017! (previously flash) i export my animation from flash as a png sequence then open it in photoshop, where the background will be transparent and save it as a gif from there nyaaa

 Hello!! Ur art is rlly pretty and so inspirational and nice to look at!! 💗💗 I was wonderin’ if ya had any tips on choosing shapes for characters? Like, when you draw shapes for a certain character, it looks rlly like it fits with the character’s personality n stuff!! ( e.g: Your Love Live! drawings!! The characters look so good in your style.) I’ve always admired how u did that n was hoping for some tips maybe?? Anyways, have a good day!!💛💖💟💜💝💞💖 HOOGA!! TYSM!!! and YEA you basically guessed it, i mainly just think about the character’s personality and translate that into a shape or Pheeling… 

especially for anime characters i look at the Very Subtle differences in the character’s original design..or possibly canon implications…for example kotori has slightly different eyes (it also says on her wiki page she has soft droopy eyes!) so i make sure to incorporate that Detãile

 anime wiki pages that have details like that is nice, for love live they have cute lil “charm points” which is really cool n helpful! listening to how a character is described in their world can give clues to what differentiates them which you can make more clear in your design

taking into account each characters context is good too, what they do/hobby/personality and how that could affect their appearance/posture/attitude

 YEAH its really fun to figure out certain characteristics and make it evident in their appearance! or. idk thats just what i do lol. hopefully this helps!
