Beyond Spectrum being a kabillion dollar conglomerate with just ok service and sky high pricing, we never dreamed the collections department would be calling us! Even more astrounding, the collections agent was calling for my father. When I told her, "You’re looking for my father not me." She said, “Will you give him a message for me?” I said, “Sure honey, we have séance’s every Friday night!” and she was like Huh?
I said, “Maam, he’s been gone for 7 years and probably hasn’t had cable TV for 8 years, so I am pretty sure you’re past the point of time for collections on his account!” to which she hung up. So clueless are they that they called every day for a week and I just told them the same thing until they stopped calling. My father was at times complicated and he would have gotten the biggest laugh out of them calling me. And in my world, that’s him saying hello from the world of spirit where there is no charge for cable and WiFi is a whisper.
This whole month is about Halloween, and clearing darker energies out of our way so that we can get the milk and honey part and aren’t we due for some good stuff? Yes, yes we are... and I am seeing you as my sweet momma would say “so richly blessed” as you read this now! When you least expect it, the odds of favor will be in your favor.

Beyond Spectrum being a kabillion dollar conglomerate with just ok service and sky high pricing, we never dreamed the collections department would be calling us! Even more astrounding, the collections agent was calling for my father. When I told her, "You’re looking for my father not me." She said, “Will you give him a message for me?” I said, “Sure honey, we have séance’s every Friday night!” and she was like Huh?
I said, “Maam, he’s been gone for 7 years and probably hasn’t had cable TV for 8 years, so I am pretty sure you’re past the point of time for collections on his account!” to which she hung up. So clueless are they that they called every day for a week and I just told them the same thing until they stopped calling. My father was at times complicated and he would have gotten the biggest laugh out of them calling me. And in my world, that’s him saying hello from the world of spirit where there is no charge for cable and WiFi is a whisper.
This whole month is about Halloween, and clearing darker energies out of our way so that we can get the milk and honey part and aren’t we due for some good stuff? Yes, yes we are... and I am seeing you as my sweet momma would say “so richly blessed” as you read this now! When you least expect it, the odds of favor will be in your favor.

People are obsessed with "good queer representation" but honestly what does that even mean? Like what is "good representation" other than doing your due diligence to not make your characters into caricatures of their demographics. (just ranting under the read more)
Like if it's not a kids' show and the character is not a caricature wtf does it mean to be "good queer representation". Like do you mean upstanding? Do you mean morally just? Do you mean good? Do you mean perfect? Do you mean """respectable"""? Cus that's the vibe that I get when people start chatting about "good queer representation" when they aren't talking about the character being a caricature/the writers "queerbaiting" (which is a whole nother topic).
I feel like this, specifically in terms of queer identity, is an argument that doesn't have a leg to stand on. Because it's (usually) not the same as representation of an ethnic culture or a historical time period, where the touchstones are specific and if you get them wrong it's through lack of research and ignorance. Like unless you're trying to represent a historied identity (ex: butchfemme) there's not really a precise or proper way to create a queer character (we are so varied), and expectation to make a character morally good and just and respectable does a disservice to the author (by limiting their expression), the audience (by assuming they cannot separate fiction from reality), and queer people as a whole (by disguisedly saying we must always be respectable to be seen or given spotlight). This has been said before and better by smarter people but this morning it's only lil ole me on the blog.
Anyway, this why I'm always saying queer artists/storytellers need to make more raw, beautiful, "perverse" art for other queer people so we can combat this popular opinion. Like bitch, people are always talking about "toxic yuri" and "enemies to lovers" but as soon as someone (usual a woman, oop-) is a little too vicious or horny, it's "bad representation" like DAMN can you enjoy the show without worrying if it could be shown to an American nuclear family?
