I get that you hated tftaws and you've got valid reasons but don't you think people should be allowed to like it? What's so wrong with loving tfatws?

Hi, anon. Okay, I know it probably seems like it, but I didn’t hate the show completely lol. I enjoyed episode one, minus a couple of things, and thought parts of ep 5 and ep 6 were fine. I was also glad we got to see Isaiah and Eli, and Carl Lumbly acted the hell out of his role. However, I maintain that Spellman and Co couldn’t possibly like or respect Sam, and I think they did not have the range to tackle racism.

Now, there’s nothing wrong with people loving TFATWS. If you notice, when someone makes a post praising the show, I don’t generally hop on it and reblog it adding my own opinions or tags that shit all over the show; instead, I usually make my own posts talking about how I feel about it. Anyone can like any show they want… just like I can have negative opinions about any show I want. I have mutuals who enjoyed the show, and we’re cool lol, but that doesn’t mean I’m not going to point out the things I didn’t like about it.

(I will admit though, that when people see absolutely nothing wrong with the show, I give them the side eye… I can’t help it lol, but I acknowledge that there’s a big difference between just liking the show and thinking there’s nothing wrong with the show at all…)

Listen, I like plenty of stuff that people don’t, so I get it… I’m just kind of sensitive about Sam I suppose lol. My intentions aren’t to come off mean or anything though

Sharon being the Power Broker is not sexist because she's female and a villain. It's sexist because she is canonically a HERO. In the comics she's AGENT 13. They took the most important female character in the entire Captain America mythos and made her some b-grade villain. They rewrote her whole fucking backstory, robbed her of her character traits, achievements, and love interest, even her fucking screentime, and gave it to other people. Then when they didn't know what to do with her because the stole all she had, they made her a villain. THAT'S sexist.

Sam:  So after you know, I decided to step up and be Captain America.  I decided to send my thanks to Wakanda, for the outfit, and they have you know...just really honoured me by calling me over for a ceremony to celebrate my new mantle. 

I’m a little worried about Bucky though.  I’ll be honest.  I mean they’ve kind of adopted him, which is cool.  But they also haze him relentlessly.  Last time I went to an event like this, they kept in different groups telling him he had to wear a shirt, or not wear a shirt, and that the other side were lying to him.  In like an endless loop with them getting really fake angry and impatient.  Ended up with the announcer during, mentioning everyone had to be sensitive to Bucky’s cultural need to be shirtless...You know that look a puppy gives you, when you fake throwing a ball and they realise?  That was his face man.

For a little while I thought only Bucky would fall for that kind of thing but apparently they got NICK FURY to wear Panther ears to honour Bast.  Man, they were cat ears from Claire’s that Shuri picked up.  They had glitter on them.  Glitter!  Of course I didn’t say anything because Nick is terrifying, and also it was funny.

Yeah, they jokesters around here.  Not with me though.  Not with me, I’d don’t get got.  I get other people.  And they know that.  They even were kind enough to translate the speech I have to give to Xhosa, their national language.  All I have to do is read it from the prompter.

*Sam approaches podium and as reading from the prompter, announces to everyone what he thinks is a speech about his respect and love for Wakanda.  He actually spends 20 minutes telling them all about what a pretty little birdie he is*
