why are y'all all up on ayo's neck? genuinely, how would you feel? no like fr. you trusted this man who's AN OUTSIDER with your technology, knowledge and a relationship with your country just for him to free the man who killed your king! you know that the dora milaje have the utmost loyalty to their nation and their king. their responsibilities revolve around that i.e. "would you really kill me, my love?" "for wakanda? without question." bucky is no wakandan. he is not their soldier. he is just a person with trust. they even gave him a nickname (idk what to call it so that's what im calling it) and he can't even call? tell them his plans and make a deal to hand him over to wakanda when he's finish? to go behind their back like that was foul and bucky should know that. i hope he learns from this.

TFATWS SPOILERS
I was watching this episode with my mom and with that opening scene she shakes her head and goes, “now that’s a broken white boy”.
I was dying laughing, cause it was so off the cuff, based purely on the force that is Sebastian Stan. I had to remind her of when Shuri said that exact thing in BP. Like the woman watched BP solely to support the black superhero movie, and then is now doing it again for TFATWS. She was in literal awe and was stuck watching that scene. That moment with Bucky and Ayo was so real and raw—that pain, relief, guilt, all of the above—no context was needed to see it or to feel it.
I was crying the whole scene, honestly. Bucky expressing his trauma makes me want to express mine and really, ack my heart. By the time it ended, I was trying to keep myself from boo hoo crying and my mom took me smooth out with that line. Shout out to her, may she never find this account. Anyways, go watch episode 4 of TFATWS and ball your eyes out like I did afterwards.

I’m still not over the fact that in ep04 Zemo was like “my associate is just up ahead” and the guys all thought it would be some mysterious dude and it was the little girl that he bribed with turkish delight.

I understand completely that Ayo had a mission to complete in terms of finding Zemo and I don’t think Bucky really should have attempted to physically stand in her way and intervene but man did he look really violated and hurt when his arm got removed :(

Sarah Wilson after she stops her kids from eating cheerios and has a second to think about her phone conversation with Sam:

Wait help. I have a lot of feelings about Sharon's comment to Bucky about him being all for 'stars and stripes' and being 'Cap's friend'.
Tumblr media
[ID: gif from the falcon and the winter soldier, in which Sharon Carter is speaking to Zemo, Sam, and Bucky in her upscale house. It is captioned "Please. You buy into all that stars and stripes bullshit." End ID.]
Tumblr media
[ID: gif from the falcon and the winter soldier, in which Sharon Carter is sitting next to Bucky on the couch, a teasing, taunting look on her face. It is captioned "You were Mr. America! Cap's best friend." End ID.]
This not a critic on Sharon in any way. I just think her words bring up interesting points, and probably dictate how a lot of people see Steve and Bucky's history—especially in relation to Zemo's earlier points about putting super soldiers on pedestals and idolizing them.
From those two scenes it is clear that pretty much nobody on the planet, besides Bucky and Sam, will every really understand who Steve was, besides being Captain America.
Sharon is (justifiably) angry right now. (I think there is more than meets the eye for her, but I'm taking her words at face value right now.) And she is disillusioned with the pomp and flair around Captain America. (And also I think she is teasing just a little bit, she was talking about Walker after all, who does buy into the stars and stripes.)
But she is wrong to think that Bucky (or Sam and Steve for that matter) ever bought into any of that. And I think it is really interesting that she says 'Cap's friend', because we know that is never what Bucky was.
Bucky was this:
Tumblr media
ID: three screenshots of Bucky and Steve from Captain America: The First Avenger. They are sitting in a bar and talking. Steve says: "You ready to follow Captain America into the jaws of death?" And Bucky responds: "Hell no. The little guy from Brooklyn who was too dumb to run away from a fight. I'm following him." End ID.]
This is important. No matter what the propaganda around Steve became, and how the government and military tried to use Captain America, Bucky was following Steve.
And it just makes me a little bit sad to think that Sam and Bucky are probably the only people who actually know Steve.
Walker sure doesn't, and the shield and Captain America makes it hard for anyone else to see anything else.
(Actually, Walker is pretty much exactly the kind of person both Sharon and Zemo allude to, and Sharon has got to know that Steve and Walker are very different, but I think she is misguided in her assumptions around Bucky's relationship with Steve and Captain America.)

Okay, idk of anyone has talked about this yet cuz I've had tfatws filtered till I could watch the 3rd ep, but...
What would you do if you're Sarah, and you call your brother cuz you're worried about your finances, and your last plan didn't go so well, and you really need to come up with something soon, and you know he has a lot on his plate right now, but you call him anyways.
And it takes him a sec to pick up, and you're worried you might hit voicemail, but he finally picks up on the last ring, and for some reason he can't even figure out why your calling??
And then he starts talking aggressively about banks and money laundering for some reason? And he threatens to kill the banker, and then maybe buy the bank?
And then he hangs up?
Like? What??
What would you do???

In response to your request for positive elements of tfatws - Even though I want more (we all do) I've been impressed with the amount of emotional and physiological attention that has been paid to Bucky and Sam. For a mainstream buddy cop/manly man/superhero story it's more then I expected. The scenes with Zemo and Bucky were nicely done, nuanced and layered. I know we want more. Fingers crossed they continue down that path.
Hi love! Thanks for your contribution ❤️ I’m so so glad to hear that you feel this way, that’s very encouraging! And to think we’re only halfway through! Hopefully they’ll keep building on that and keep doing these complex characters justice. Thanks again!! <3
