I think I liked the first episode better but things are moving and I would have gladly watched another episode right away. So far it feels more like an extended movie being piecemealed than a traditional tv show but I’m guessing that’s exactly the point.

John Walker was less assholish than I expected. He was actually remarkably not assholish for a good chunk. However, there is no way that he isn’t juiced. Maybe he doesn’t know, but he must be enhanced. I can’t believe they’d give him the name and the shield without some powers to keep up. Making the public believe the All-American War Hero is all natural is however on brand.

The social commentary seems above average for a mainstream production. Isaiah Bradley. “Black” Falcon. The bank scene last ep and the cops this ep. Maybe it isn’t subtle but why should it be?

Isaiah Bradley (the “Black” Captain America), in retrospect, seems like an obvious choice to bring into the proceedings, yet I don’t think we were expecting him? Maybe I just managed not to be spoiled on this one. Yay!

Bucky doesn’t get it yet and that’s great. He’s a guy from the 1940s who’s been busy dealing with his own problems after decades of not owning his own mind, it would feel unrealistic if he did. He will. Being angry at Sam because he’s afraid Steve made a mistake giving him a chance was great characterization, I thought.

The FlagSmashers are either not the villains or they need to start villaining soon. One world, one people? What’s wrong with that?

The two arguably more comedic scenes - the staring contest in front of the therapist and the discussion about the big three - fell a little flat from having been fully spoiled by the trailers. I need to remember not to watch previews for shows I’m gonna watch regardless.

Sharon was mentioned but still MIA. If she doesn’t show up next ep, I will complain obnoxiously.

Bitches can literally watch a show where a black man was immediately replaced by a white dude, and actually thanked and told “it was the right decision” and also a scene where a black man with superstrength was imprisoned, experimented on, and treated like a lab rat for THIRTY years vs the white supersoldier who became a national hero and still go “Sam is SO stupid. Why would he give up the shield and not just take on the mantle right away? What could have POSSIBLY stopped him?”

that scene was in ep 2 and bucky didn't respond with the "god i hate you" line. did they cut it? was that specific bromance scene for the trailers only? why are we not getting that i hate you back from bucky?
