So one of my fav fic author, just wrote a non-power AU of GoYuu (gojo/yuji) & SukuFushi (sukuna/ fushiguro) and...... I don't know what to feel. Like, have you know someone who ship them (it's the first for me) ? The fic's not underage, yuji's and megumi's age had been aged up by the author, but still the age gap, the dynamics, right? Can you think the reasons to ship them? Well, creativity really knows no bound.....😂😶

Oooh I have actually come across both of these ships very often on ao3. The ItaJun tag has a bunch of them on top hehe. I actually used to ship Sukuna and Megumi a little back when the anime was first airing(not anymore though).

For Gojo/Yuuji I think the first episode scene where their faces are super duper close probably kickstarted it

(Gojo: tf is personal space??? what's thaaaat???) GoYuu has a very popular ship dynamic I've observed in many fandoms; Student x Teacher. There's always a kind of jaded, aloof and distant teacher-figure who's shipped with the cheery, open-minded and sunny student-figure. I've heard that dynamic is really popular in East Asian fandom spaces(it appears a lot in danmei novels I've read). GoYuu was apparently the most popular ship in Japan (it beat out SatoSugu). Gojo argued to keep Yuuji alive and gave him time, so that's probably a point of appeal too. Gojo usually has no serious reactions to anything, he could have easily killed Yuuji and been done with it but he wanted him to live(Megumi did but eh, technicalities). What made this distant and carefree person take interest in the well-being of this stranger? Why would he risk the world for this one boy? That's probably the start of it. And then in the development, it's probably about how Yuuji can break down Gojo's walls and make him be more honest in his emotions.

2. Sukuna/Megumi: I used to ship it because I thought Sukuna was interested in Megumi as a person, assumed he'd be someone who can give him a good fight or wanted him as an ally.

Right before this Sukuna's all giggling laughing asking Megumi to give him more(to fight against, but like, SukuFushi enjoyers probably enjoy taking that to mean something different). I think we all assumed he was interested in Megumi's evolution as a sorcerer. He takes joy in fighting and if anyone can catch his interest, it'd be someone who's struggling to get stronger and sees him as a rival.

It seems like he doesn't give a shit about anyone but Megumi. Like that one time he verbatiom said "Aside from him, I truly don't care". Also in Shibuya arc he heals Megumi and fights Mahoraga and everyone though it's because he cares about him(I was a fool).

On Megumi's end, okay idk what the current SukuFushi shippers expect but I personally wanted Megumi to kill Sukuna even when I was shipping them. Enemies to lovers except one of them is permanently in the enemies phase. As far as I've seen, there's always this non-con element to it? Like Megumi is extremely reluctant, Sukuna is unrelenting in pursuing him, and Megumi goes through a bit of a corruption arc and Sukuna.....well he isn't redeemed but he tones down because Megumi asks. A Beauty & The Beast situation.

I was talking about it to my bff and she was (rightfully) roasting me like we were joking around. Me: "Sukuna wants him for his body.....but like literally he wants to be inside him." My friend: "You mean possess him???" Me: "That's the word yes!"

The age-gap thing for SukuFushi feels more okay because I grew up on a bunch of fantasy shojo manga where a high school girl fell for an ancient spirit with a minimum age of 100. This isn't even an animanga thing, it's there in western media too(....Twilight). A lot of people just don't see the point of mulling over age gaps when the differences are centuries, even if the other half is a minor.

As for GoYuu, well I guess it's fiction, they're just lines on a page at the end of the day and it's less about the legalities of the gap and more about the dynamics it brings to the table that people can find interest in. The power difference, the difference in ways they view the world, the younger one is always more innocent, etc.

I personally don't find these to be my interests 99% of the time but I get why others would enjoy it (my few exceptions are Scum Villain and ErHa but if I start trying to explain THOSE messes we'd all lose it).

I guess people would be confused why I'm still hung up on ItaJun too huh? XDXD But as you said, fanon and creativity has no limits and people do as they like and enjoy.

I just watched The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and I have to rant about it real quick.

Spoilers under the cut for those who want to see it- I HIGHLY recommend the movie btw.

-So, first off THE MUSIC IS SPECTACULAR. The scene where Lucy Gray is covered in the snakes is *chef's kiss*. Apparently for every song, it was a live performance by Rachel Ziegler, and she fucking nailed it.

I've seen a couple people criticize some of the songs as taking melodies from other IRL folk songs- but honestly, I don't see this as a bad thing as a lot of those original songs have probably been forgotten as this is YEARS in the future. Music evolves, and certain chords and beats will stay long after words are forgotten.

-Her dress is gorgeous- all of the costumes are awesome. I think I made one comment on how the school uniform looks a bit weird, but I quickly got over it.

-Flickerman is actually really funny- I thought he would be annoying as a bit character- but he did get a couple laughs out of me. (Which makes me feel bad because people were dying in those scenes, but at the same time- I think that's a commentary for another time.)

-Arachne's death was absolutely deserved.

-Wovey's death was absolutely tragic

-The drones were *menaces* and I LOVED IT- it was so fucking funny to me to see them flying around and nailing people square in the chest- or knocking people tf over.

-I love how Lucy Gray immediately called bull on Snow's "the third person I killed was my old self."

-THE OLD HOB WAS AWESOME!! The mood in the tavern was so cozy and joyful, and it is EXACTLY what I imagined the Hadestown speakeasy looks like when Persephone is singing "Our Lady of the Underground"

-That being said- I wish we got the scene where they burn it down for being the heart of rebellion.

-I didn't like the change they made to Jessup's rabies. He was supposed to get it while at the capital. That bite was supposed to be after their first night in the zoo, where they thought a rat bit him (later speculated to be a raccoon). I don't like how it was changed to a bat bite while on the train.

The whole point of it in the book was supposed to emphasize the propaganda that's even being forced onto capital citizens- not just district citizens- that the capital is utopian.

"There is no rabies in the capital anymore- we got rid of it within *our* borders. It must have come from those *filthy* districts. Look at how it turns him even more *animalistic.*"

But instead, they change the bite to be from a bat while they were on the train. To me, that seems too close to "the rabies came from the districts." (Even if it was a capital train.)

Like, at the start of the movie, we are treated to an absolute rollercoaster as they try to set up everything that was going wrong in the capital during the war in the span of 5 minutes. One of these being a dog who's foaming at the mouth. I entirely expected that bite to happen within the zoo with that kind of set up.

There could have even been really interesting pay-off for it too. Other students seeing the foaming, freaking out, and almost panicking because "rabies is back." (Hell, even have Flickerman seem spooked by it). SELL HOW DANGEROUS THIS DISEASE IS/ SEEMS TO THEM. Because they lived through it. Most people in the capital probably have a horror story involved with a rabies encounter, because of how rampant it apparently was in the capital.

-The same can also be said about Dill- I don't like how blaise they were about her constant cough, and possible tuberculosis. That shit kills- they would not be casual about being near her. (Though the absolutely would make jokes in her expense)

-Reaper could have been more of a dick. In book, he actually says "I'm sorry I'm going to have to kill you all." (In response Jessup spits in his face- which causes Reaper to ALSO contract rabies, but that's neither here nor there). He honestly isn't too threatening other than a quick jump scare when his mentor is first talking to him.

He's honestly more of a gentle giant? In a way? Like, he pairs with Dill and after she dies, collects all the bodies around the arena in a row and covers them. He isn't the same threat that he was in the books.

-I would have preferred if we went in the arena with a count of how many tributes were left. I think 22 were still alive? But it was really hard to keep track. I know in the book between the rough handling, the Arachne incident, and the bombing- both the mentor and tribute pool slimmed significantly before the games even started. But in the movie I think only 2 tributes actually died before the games.

-As far as that rollercoaster at the beginning- it throws a LOT of information at you all at once- and not all of it is mentioned again. Especially not the cannibalism- which I feel could have been changed a bit?

-We didn't get much about Snow's peers, which is a shame since he has SO MUCH that he thinks about each one of them and their backgrounds in the books.

-Clemensia's poisoning should have been more colorful, and could have been WAY more grotesque. I'm talking a rainbow of mottled skin spreading up her arm until her face swells shut. We also should have gotten confirmation on whether or not she died.

It would have been more satisfying if during Snow's hospitalization, he tried to see her, only to find those golden scales covering her body and turning her eyes yellow like in the book.

-I wish Maude Ivory was more of a character- she's one of the main reasons it's theorized The Hanging Tree and other songs by Lucy Gray are remembered.

-In the book, in that last conversation with the doctor, she tells Snow that she will never replay the footage of the 10th games. There's too much rebellion attached to it. I wish that line has been kept- that way his thoughts of "People will forget her" actually have a bit more weight.

-I wish we had seen more of Sejanus' mom- just to see what costumes would have done with her dresses.

-I wish we saw more of Tigris' designs, or heard more of her struggles with her boss- just a mention of what she had to do to keep the House of Snow on top.

I think that's it for now? I just watched it last night, so some things need a bit longer to be thought about, but in general I just want MORE.

This antagonistic rivalry would have to begin in childhood or adolescence. Like, during that sweet spot when Kakashi is a little rule-following asshole who loves being top dog and hasn't had the trauma that resulted in him joining ANBU or adopting Obito's personality yet.

Kakashi is bamboozled the first time he gets his ass handed to him by a peer. He...didn't think that was possible.

It doesn't help that this little girl is taunting him now, grinning in a way that makes him want to punch all her baby teeth out.

Minato thinks that Kakashi needs a challenge and doesn't particularly enjoy beating up his precocious child student all day anyway, so he speaks to whoever's been handling her to arrange some sparring.

Whenever Kakashi ekes out a win, he's convinced the tides are turning in his favor. The winds of change are upon them and she can get off her high horse for good, thank you.

Except for then she beats him into the dirt again the next time.

Over the years, Kakashi uses her as an outlet for all of his terrible, unspeakable rage. He doesn't mind if she sees the ugly feelings that just keep building up with every new death because he's always known she's like him in a way Gai is not.

He even makes time during his suicidal ANBU period to come get the shit beat out of him in a non-lethal setting.

As they grow up and mature and remove the respective sticks from their asses that got them to "insane child genius" in the first place, they find that...well, they don't really mind hanging out without the violence.

Things progress very slowly to a friendship. They progress even more slowly to something in a more romantic light. Much of it is at the behest of our overpowered girl who does not have time for Kakashi's crises. Just choose something good for once, you rat bastard!

Kakashi has a chat with Dead Obito at the memorial stone in order to let him know of these developments and share that he's finally willing to take the next step. He imagines that Obito would have loved this; as children, Obito was her self-appointed cheerleader because he's a fan of anyone who can beat up Kakashi.

Except for Dead Obito is not so dead and has a habit of lurking about the area.

And the problem is, Obito doesn't really think that Kakashi deserves this newfound happiness.

If it's any consolation, Obito takes no pleasure in murdering Kakashi's lady love. He really was fond of her as a child. It's a pity that she made such a bad choice.

but a more serious question is: why would the zenin fuck around & traumatize the adopted kid of the strongest, the ten shadows user, when they know it will come with consequences? do they think that there higher ups will put a leash on gojo or some shit like when they was younger? or did they do this out of some sick way of showing their care for megumi bc like they’re trying to show him that gojo is making him weak (which is so not true idc) & they decided to push his limits to showcase his weakness? like as a big fuck you to gojo & an eye opener to megumi?

it's basically canon to me that he is. Kamo was straight up trying to have this big climactic confession with Megumi where he bared his heart and soul and told them they were the same and should find allies in the other and megumi was like "the hell we are" and had to say it twice so he would have no doubt. meanwhile his internal monologue was "why the hell is this guy acting like we're friends or something" megumi you have canonically known him for three years now. he's baring his soul to you. oh my god he wants to be your friend.

in actuality, Kamo is very lonely and isolated in his clan and sees Megumi as, canonically, the same as him. They were both born outside of their clan. Both clans brought them in (or tried to in the Zenin's case) because of their inherited techniques. they both have family that doesn't fit in with the rest of their clan. Kamo is constantly pressured to perform as the perfect heir and sees megumi as the only person in the world who has a chance of understanding him.

The Zenin:

Honestly it was a huge amount of entitlement and the fact that they just were not at all smart and never actually thought they'd face consequences for their actions.

First off, they never thought of Gojo as Megumi's adoptive father who loved him. They were the ones who loved Megumi. Gojo did this as a power play, and to keep the Ten Shadows from reaching his full potential. In their mind, he never loved Megumi as his son and didn't warrant the same levels of concern. They weren't going to exactly erect a billboard about his mistreatment, but they weren't all that worried either. They didn't think Gojo would do what he did and cut them off completely--they were more worried with Gojo trying to use it to make them lose leverage when they were getting a better custody deal. It was absolutely obvious to them that gojo was not doing this out of love and didn't actually care what happened to megumi.

They also didn't personally view what they were doing to megumi as abuse.

Most of the time that they beat him, it was during "training," which he did for a ludicrous amount of time during the day. He needed to be trained in combat. In zenin training, that includes feeling the pain of the blow according to Maki. He needed to learn how to handle pain. that meant hitting him for real.

Except his training was run by an insecure psychopath obsessed with his dead dad and a revolving cast of lunatics obsessed with megumi's progress because that was meant to herald the return of the zenin clan to its former glory. they went way too far way too many times.

The rest was just what Naoya called Zenin-typical discipline, but dialed up because he's fucking crazy. Like. The Zenin weren't strangers to corporal punishment, but naoya always liked hitting megumi. he looked for excuses to do it.

It's the Zenin way, at the end of the day. They all went through the same and turned out just fine. And they wanted Megumi to be raised Zenin.

They also just didn't think of him as, you know. a person.

He was their hopes and dreams personified. They'd waited centuries for him to return to them. Only for him to be tainted by their greatest enemy and taken from them.

So much of Megumi wasn't real to them. It was all just--Gojo's corruption and mockery. Wanting to wear his own clothes? spiting their traditional dress with the ways of the non-jujutsu world. Obviously Gojo's doing. Wanting to be called his own name? It's an honor to be the ten shadows. They waited five hundred years for him. Gojo would not be allowed to diminish that.

The entire clan was not aware that Megumi was being beaten. Only a very, very select few were given time with him, and they usually hit him behind closed doors. Which is what Maki remembers--she can't remember why, but she felt bad for him, and it was hard to figure out why, because he was the ten shadows and was supposed to be beloved. And then she realized that it was because he never had any time to play. And she always saw him being lugged unconscious from the training room.

She didn't see the bits leading up to it. how bad it got. she only got a glimpse, that most of the clan was more than happy to explain away. the ten shadows was training to grow strong for them, after all.

The people abusing him were entitled assholes who just thought they were above consequences. There's an old world mindset around kids in the jujutsu world--they're basically the property of their clan. There's no CPS. No one's doing a wellness check here. They normally would have been allowed to do whatever the fuck they wanted to megumi with impunity--the fact that Gojo's breathing down their neck is a slap in the face and a continued humiliation. They weren't going to add insult to injury and just. tiptoe around how they trained their ten shadows in the privacy of their own compound based on what gojo satoru might think. Megumi would be raised as Zenin are raised when they had him, and Gojo satoru wouldn't have a say in it.

Of course, this was a classic case of fuck around and find out. They didn't think gojo would care; they were wrong and he cut them off from megumi entirely. They never once thought about megumi's autonomous desires and boundaries; now they are cut off permanently from him. They were stupid and felt entitled to do with Megumi as they pleased, and they lost him as a result.

I don’t know what or why you made this guy jealous BUT YOU NEVER SHOULD :) Even though he’s never straight up verbally told you what he likes and doesn’t like you doing you already were always able to tell from how he “exasperatingly” states things he hates to slightly purring or cutely laughing, nuzzling your neck in the process because he likes what you may have done. SO WHY DID YOU DO IT???

-Che’nya was already aware that you had a friendship with that savanaclaw nobody for a very long time however could tell they wanted more than when what they already had. Of course he didn’t mind for some time since he knew you were his and that you were in a relationship with him but there were a few times that he wished to mess with him.

-He notices every little detail from them, the way they say that they had “leftovers” from their lunch they’d give, touching your hand when they drop their pencil, it’s been awhile since he’s been THIS PISSED OFF. Of course he won’t put is anger upon you because not only does he consider that stupid since it’s not your fault but from seeing what his friend Riddle, being locked away at a young age, feeling like it was his fault, he doesn’t want to jump such drastic measure for such a tiny problem without communication.

-Che’nya may be a fun loving boyfriend but whenever he’s serious it scares tf outa you. These were a rather one of these cases. He will straight up tell you why you’re staying with that nobody or to rather limit the amount of times you meet up with them because HE HATES being invisible, watching your conversation with them, and seeing his boyfriend’s face slightly scrunch up with how uncomfortable you are with them. Makes him want to pull their hair out honesty.

-If you say that you want to keep that relationship with your “friend” because you want to keep it that way and want things to go back he’ll slightly groan and mope around a big BUT HE WILL HELP! Your clothes, pens, books, ANYTHING YOU USE FOR SCHOOL AND TOUCH WILL BE COVERED IN HIS SCENT! Your boyfriend would roll over the bedsheets to cover it with his scent, rub all over your body, AND EVEN WANT TO LICK YOUR HAIR! I‘M NOT KIDDING! He may jokingly say that but if you let him he actually will! He’s always a man of his word, whether he’s joking or not! 

-If they STILL don’t get the point of what you and Che’nya are doing, making a visible move on you, EXPECT CHE’NYA TO OBVIOUSLY BE THERE!

As they forcefully push you to a wall, performing a kabedon on you, the look on their face expressing both anger and jealousy. “You always smell nice like flowers, SO HOW COME YOU SMELL LIKE A CAT!” As they slam on the wall, making you flinch. “Hey that’s not so nice saying that! You should know I keep a good hygiene!” Che’nya smiles widely, walking to the right side of you as he appears. “Maybe I should teach you a few manners before preying on my boyfriend, mutt.” His expression stays the same however you can feel a sense of all that anger had from them, shown through his voice. This could end very badly.

-OBVIOUSLY IT DOES! Your friend obviously gets his ass beat to the point he broke AN ARM and Che’nya almost get’s caught from being in a different school, hurting a student from your school! However luckily your friend realizes his mistake of even trying to pursue you and you still get to stay friends! Che’nya is of course still pissed off with them and will STILL  try to cover your clothes with his scent and give you hickeys (if you don’t mind) on you! He wants to completely make it clear that you’re off limits!

Yeah, of course! Quick warning, I have not played Legend of Zelda in around 11 years, give or take, so this might not be overly good, but I did my best!

Honestly though, I feel like Zelda fits the personality that Twisted Wonderland gave the MC to a certain extent

But I also feel like she would have wayyyyy better judgement

Like, she's a princess??? Crowley better buckle TF up because this is one battle he is loosing

In the first three months, she managed to get certified therapists for students in order to prevent more overblots

And personally started to fix Leona's relationship with his family

Ace, Deuce, and Grim? They are not breaking any rules, skipping classes or failing anything

Like, the shady-ass bird-man best find some way to return Zelda to Hyrule or she will rebuild Night Raven college entirely

So, Link is just as confused as Zelda if he's the MC

Out of everyone there, I feel like he'd get along best with Silver (due to how - in the games I've played a bit of - he's generally depicted as being sleepy/lazy in a way)

But at the same time, he beats the sense back into the OB gang pretty damn fast

He can figure out his opponents weaknesses pretty quickly after all

(Azul def wants Link as an ally, I mean, do you know how many more students he can take advantage of help with Link on his side?)

Also, one of his greatest strengths is how caring he is

So he, Ace, Deuce and Grim? 100% attached at the hip, may as well move Adeuce into Ramshackle - they're all his now

(Riddle is at the end of his rope with these kids and their rule-breaking, Jamil avoids them, and Ruggie is entertained)

Also, he ends up in the pop music club after Kalim found out he;s good with instruments

Did not even give him a choice, just dragged him straight there

"Come on, Link! it'll be fun! Besides, you could be here for a really long time, anyways"

All in all, these two fix everything while they're in Twst

(Warning this is super long I'm so sorry) Absolutely mcfreaking reeling from that charged backfist of a chapter. I have no words. Yang what. What is wrong with you. He really slaughtered five schools' worth of students and masters, killed his adoptive father, orchestrated the murder of his little sister, secretly went back and raised said little sister from the dead, decided to let her wake up ALONE IN A POOL OF HER OWN BLOOD SURROUNDED BY THE BODIES OF HER FAMILY, left her to fend for herself at the ripe age of 11, and then fucked off to the mountains to be a super-doctor. BROTHER. Like yes Yang, it was really cold of Sifu to not let you save your family with the talisman, and your feelings of heartbreak and betrayal are absolutely valid (I would even excuse the attempted theft of the talisman honestly, he was just trying to save them!) especially when he saw you as a son, BUT HOLY SHIT YOUR RESPONSE WAS TO BECOME A MASS-MURDERER! That said, I think you're probably the first person I've seen who's gotten this angry at Yang (aside from a few other characters in the fic)! 😂 Game-wise, him reviving Yin in the prologue made the most sense to me out of all the other theories (not that there are a lot imo), and it also works with the implications of the post-credits scene, so I was more than ready to add it to the fic with maximum angst! XDD

Of course, this all means Yang is an even bigger douche than before 😅 There were a million other ways he could've gone about stealing the talismans without ruining Yin's life, but ah well, I had to stick to that part of canon for this fic 😂 I personally think he didn't have this mindset eight years ago; like, how much of his current thinking is actually him and how much is part of the talisman's influence? But even then, it was still a horrible move to make, especially where Yin was concerned (hence why I came up with the Dawn!AU where she lives! hehe). And his entire arc overall was one of my struggling points while writing, because how DO you come back from this? How do you have the happy ending with all the fluffy rainbow and unicorn feels?? Would a happy ending for this even be happy for Yin and Yang's relationship after all he's done to her? So that was quite interesting and tricky to work with XDD

Decided to add some headcannons which were requested by some people! It’s rather long and messy so bear with me lol. Do these even make sense? <3 also no ship hate or any of that, leave if you want to be a problematic person.

• Consider Ochako giving Shoto hand-to-hand combat lessons after he requested her when he saw her beat the shit out of some students; he’s nothing to scoff at but god, Ochako can tell he definitely needs some more practice.

• And Shoto is panicking because wow she’s so adorable and pretty even when she’s about to throw him off his feet like wow, and he’s not good at hiding a dreamy smile which is honestly making Ochako flustered—

• Them sparring in the night after classes because Shoto is not a morning person but eventually Ochako says that early morning is far better since they would also have time to study.

• She is used to dragging him out of bed to eat something or simply hang out and socialize, of course if only he’s comfortable (and he says yes because he likes hanging out with her) but then whole class is there and he wants to cry now.

• Lo and behold, they go to the gym and meet our gremlin, Katsuki who grins and proceeds to ‘join’ in the lesson too, it’s basically just him trying to kick Shoto’s ass without actually explaining anything, it’s paying off but nonetheless Ochako is both paranoid and impressed—

• Que Katsuki cackling and taunting Shoto; Ochako is scolding him and cheering for Shoto- the commotion can definitely be heard outside and sounds of insults, blasts and attacks can be heard, it’s thrilling and entertaining, not to mention Shoto is actually getting better. And he’s a piece of shit towards Katsuki too.

• Que Momo entering the gym because she wanted to ask for some tips from Bakugo and next thing y’know she’s getting hyped tf up and ofc she feels as if she’s intruding but none of them are about to let her leave, in the end all of them are are exhausted and burned out. Ochako smiles apologetically because she practically slammed Momo but hey she’s learning and gets a smile in return.

• Ochako taking care of Momo and Shoto- who’s not used to being taken care of after training but it’s nice, Katsuki yelling at their mistakes and indirectly inviting them the next morning too, pointedly telling Momo that she better stop hesitating because he will be the one next time sparing with her and he will be damned if she gives him half of her effort.

• Y’all just know that Shoto and Katsuki would be the one sharing a brain cell, they are both stubborn and rather argumentative- just in a different sense, and ofc Ochako is not gonna miss up a chance to annoy the shit out of him and Momo would be commenting too but in a more mature manner— it’s amusing to watch the three argue ngl.

• Ochako dragging all of them for breakfast- especially Shoto who’s somehow still sleepy and was about to get his ass on bed but no he’s eating whether he likes it or not, and in Katsuki’s words miss ponytail gotta recharge her quirk so ‘sit yo ass down’.

• Him making them all a nutritional and a delicious meal, complaining about their unhealthy lifestyle like we all are growing heroes— your supposed to recharge and get some more meat— pretty much he’s referring to Momo who’s undoubtedly insecure about her body sometimes and Shoto skips breakfast to get his sleep. until Ochako drags him out.

• Ochako helping Katsuki to make food and Momo makes some of her tea to relax their nerves and Shoto pisses his ‘bestie’ off by reviewing everything he’s doing, he mostly cleans any mess and helps with the dishes- none of them like any mess and it irritates them, except Ochako and definitely the human Pomeranian is not going to cook for a useless bastard who can’t even clean to help.

• It mostly ends up with Katsuki listening to the other three talk— sometimes to Momo talking about her goals she wants to reach this year, Ochako talking about almost everything and Shoto giving short responses. until he points out something to Katsuki, irking him and then it’s all chaos when the others come down.

• It’s a strange scene; Shoto giving a teasing smirk while almost getting blown off, Ochako is laughing her ass off and Momo is trying to calm all of them down, she does not want to use her quirk to make dishes and no Shoto do not use your ice to make some— that’s not how it works, and it’s also completely impractical. Ochako might use her quirk to make them both float and cause less damage, or she just wants to mess with them tbh, she’s no less than them.

• They head to class together, Katsuki a bit further because he’s not friends with them dammit, although he does give his opinions to Momo’s rants about the lessons, and Ochako is a ball of sunshine who is the only thing helping a sleepy Shoto, he probably talks with her about what else he would like to learn from her.

• They are loud and that’s a fact, Ochako takes any chance she can get to get under Katsuki’s skin because it’s fun and Shoto does the same. When Mina and Kirishima join them, it’s all downhill from there. Mina, Shoto and Ochako tease the fuck out of Katsuki— who’s about to explode anytime soon. Momo is the quite one of the group as long as Katsuki doesn’t try to rile her up that is. Kirishima is the peacemaker, but man it’s fun.

• study sessions, let’s just say it helps Ochako a lot with her problems, since the other three are the smartest students in the class and all of them exchange their thoughts, mostly Momo and Katsuki in his own way. Shoto prefers studying alone but relents at the last moment, again it can turn into an informative extensive debate but they all came here for a reason and Momo won’t have any of it atm.

• It ends with Momo and Bakugo discussing about some strategies, Shoto is almost nodding off if not for the tea which Momo made for them and Ochako is doing and comparing her homework with the others— she’s panicking about the exams and Shoto is the one calming her down about it, he’s used to being anxious over such stuff before so he knows how she feels about it.

• Katsuki dragging Momo away from learning more- like get some sleep and stop overwhelming yourself, we have training to do tomorrow. Shoto does the same with Ochako, picking up her stuff and even opting to explain her some stuff again if that would help her.

• And yes he falls asleep on her shoulder; he’s not used to their new schedule so it’s understandable that he would feel sleepy and tired, in the end he goes to his dorm with an encouraging smile towards her and our homegirl is blushing hard af. She looks over his neat notes and the other’s too, feeling better about herself.

• They are all intelligent and determinative to do their best, attentive and caring about each other. And it shows that they are developing and growing more confident.

• Ochako brings them snacks when she can, telling them that it’s okay and the others take it because they don’t want her to feel bad, and ofc Momo takes them to expensive restaurants to show her gratitude towards their friends, Katsuki helping them with getting a good fashion sense and nutrition, which Shoto ends up paying for btw because fuck him that’s why.

• Their favorite is simply hanging around the campus or the city; whether it’s to a cafe or a mall, it’s just them enjoying themselves. Shoto slyly buys stuff for Ochako because she deserves the best and Katsuki might spoil Momo with his fashion sense as mentioned before, they end up going to an arcade and then heading back to the dorms. Sure the others might join too but they just hang out without actually informing anyone if it’s not needed.

• They know each other is going through some issues and since they all are brutally honest at times, they can have conversations about anything although ofc it takes a bit time to open up, which is okay, they can still hang out and just be there for each other.

• Also combining their quirks, they have great ideas what to do with them, sometimes though it will definitely get them in trouble but as I said three of them actually share a single brain cell, sometimes Momo might join in too— so it’s upto Aizawa to be aware of their bullshit before they blow the place up.

• Momo and Shoto looking upto Ochako and her great fighting skills, Katsuki making sure they are doing their best and not wasting his time. Momo giving straight opinions about their actions and abilities, she’s great at observing someone’s errors which is helpful at the end.

• Honestly to others, they are a mystery since none of them say much about just how any of them got together so close in the first place, and not to mention amusing to watch. It’s either them watching Momo chastising the fuck out of Katsuki or Ochako arguing with him or Shoto once again about to get blown off. It’s unpredictable and hilarious.

• Momo getting insecure about herself so Ochako, helps her with it. She has had such insecurities too, about chubbiness and other’s opinions so they both have some girl time and talk to each other about it, it’s not fun only being seen as a sexualized person or a chubby soft girl and always getting put down.

• God forbid if Katsuki catches wind of it— he’s going straight to her room and complimenting her in his own way, he’s bringing some food and she better eat it because she deserves it for always working so hard, she’s smarter than him and how he always looks forward for her opinions and rantings, basically he’s gonna beat the shit out of anyone who wants beef with her. And the same goes with Ochako, she’s a smart girl and she better understand that. he tries not to get emotional and leaves shortly after but would think about it the whole night.

• Shoto might help in his own ways, albeit he’s a bit awkward, he compliments her intelligent speculations and almost confesses her feelings to Ochako lmao. but he tries his best to help them with their insecurities, opting to sparing with Momo with his quirk and buying her and Ochako some snacks because they are beautiful just the way they are and can get whatever they want to without judgment. he’s a gentleman and leaves to give them both space if he’s sure they want some.

• Same goes with the boys; it’s a bit harder with them but eventually they have some talks about mostly in private and not to all of them at once, Katsuki will probably talk with Ochako if she ever asks him about Izuku or if Shoto does, mostly with Momo tho, because she isn’t that close with Izuku so it’s less awkward. yet tense as she tells him to sort things out immediately. it’s needed to be heard tbh and he knows. He doesn’t open about his insecurities openly but all of them know it’s being hinted at.

• Oof Shoto has already unpacked a lot of things to Ochako. he feels guilty af although he knows she’s glad to hear whatever is going on with him, Katsuki bluntly gives his thoughts which he appreciates, he isn’t Ochako to carefully and softly mention the subject but both of them give their true opinions. Momo might relate with the pressure part, her parents are sweetheart and she loves them dearly but they can be rather strict. he’s not insecure about himself but he’s gotta practice with his fire more whether he likes it or not. — Katsuki is definitely gonna push him harder with that.

• You will find them doing some dumb shit or getting dragged to do one thing or another, nonetheless they are there for each other when it’s needed and have the potential to make a great team (they are tbh) they might have some disagreements but the other help solve it out. None of them hide their feelings or take any shit from the other after a while. They would probably keep doing this after graduation fr.

- "How did you become a Gun simp?" EASY. THAT MAN'S TOO FINE YOUR HONOR. Just kidding! I've answered a question similar to this before so I apologize if it may seem like I'm repeating myself! So once upon a time, there was a time where Gun wasn't my favorite character - nor was he my second or third. My favorites used to be Zack and Goo (and honestly? You can throw in Vasco as well because that dude is too good-natured). I loved Zack because of the character development he went through (I used to Hate him because of how mean he used to be to Daniel but with the power of HUMBLING and wanting to become a better person, Zack became such a likeable person). Dude's got such a big heart and he's so kind, like I love his relationship with Mira and Johan or I guess the people he cares about in general because no matter who he's up against, Zack always stands up and fights for his friends (like this guy stood up to Gun and was the only person to step up and defend Johan, like Zack is that ride or die friend that everyone needs).

Then we got someone who's the opposite of Zack and that person is THE Goo Kim. I loved Goo and the way he's so chaotic and an absolute money hungry scoundrel he is. I've always found him to be such a fun character and he made such a strong impression on me when he was first introduced! At first, we thought that Goo was just sadist that loved money but then ptj pulled a fast one by making us think that he was going to beat tf out of Vasco and Cicada's bullies for free out of the goodness of his heart but no this mfer was really like 'oh, so you hurt these kids for no reason? Perfect. Now I have a reason to beat the shit out of you and not get in too much trouble for it'.

- "How did drawing become a hobby to you?" So I actually grew up watching anime (I miss the days when they used to play sailor moon and bleach on tv). I've always loved Sailor moon's art style or Arina Tanemura's art and so when I was younger, I started to practice drawing by redrawing their art! However, after some time later, i ended up dropping art because I was unsatisfied with my art. I've always had trouble figuring out or finding my art style - which is why I'm always in awe at everyone's on here because it's like, you see their art style and you instantly know its their art. it wasn't until I joined the lookism fandom on here and became inspired to start drawing again! I'll try not to make a too long post about this because like, whatever, but the thing that has me the most upset about the Witcher s3 is actually the way the writing treats the physical space these characters inhabit because this is supposed to be a big fantasy story! This is a big continent in which different countries are at war with each other! Nilfgaard trying to take over the rest of the contintent is a big deal because it would make the empire MASSIVE. But you don't get that feeling from the show because because their writing just chaotically flip flops between character constellations and places to hit as many plot beats from the books as it can until the world has collapsed so that everyone somehow lives in an area that doesn't feel bigger than a large metropolitan area.

Take the sene where Ciri is chased by the Wild Hunt for example. That scene is lifted fromt he books, but it doesn't have the same context as the book and so it's free of any internal logic. In the books Ciri and Yen are in Gors Velen, Ciri and Yen fight, the whole bath scene yada yada but Ciri learns that Geralt is nearby on a farm so she runs away to Geralt, gets overtaken by the hunt and Geralt sensing with his Witcher sense that something is wrong in the area goes to check it out and finds (and rescues) Ciri. In the show we don't actually know where exactly Geralt is. Is he close? Is he far away? Where even is that castle, how long was he traveling with Teryn, where do Anika and Otto live? Doesn't matter. Geralt is going to Ciri and Ciri ran away vaguely towards Geralt so somehow they run into each other in the middle of nowhere in the woods right when the Hunt dramatically reaches her. Yay father daughter reunion, we can now move onto our next plot point. (And yes I get that this was also supposed to resemble their meeting in S1 but like, that at least made sense because we are told they are in the same area and also looking for each other and also fate intervened a little bit...but you're telling me destiny somehow gave them a magic father daughter radar?)

Or take the Radskier meeting in Loxia: How tf did Radovid know where Jaskier was? I get that Loxia is a settlement by Thanedd, the students are also lodging there while the guests occupy their rooms, but like, when they show the house it looks like it's in the middle of the woods. If it had been a townhouse, then yeah sure this makes perfect sense. Radovid learns Jaskier's in town, decides to stop by. But no he goes out the middle of nowhere where this house seems to stand, then sneaks about when he runs into the forcefield, not even waiting for the door to open, to get a fun "Jaskier thinks there's an intruder but actually it's his boy Radovid" sequence which...aesthetically fun but WHERE is the narrative logic to any of that?

Cahir is shown in some fancy castle in Nilfgaard in one scene, then the next have him and several other riders carrying a lot of goods to the elves who are somewhere in the North, potentially up in Kaedwin where their last marked location was, maybe closer to the border in Lyria or Temeria or somewhere. How did he get there? Did the whole convoy step through a portal? Did he portal to the nearest post and form the convoy there? We can imagine the possibilities but it would have been so much better to show it just to give the distances weight and meaning.

And don't even get me started on Mistle in Gors Velen...like great that she and Ciri had that interaction, the moment itself was fun, but like...do you know how far Gors Velen is from Gheso? How little sense it makes for her to be there and then later be elsewhere? That there are several books worth of plot because Ciri stepped through a portal that lands her in the middle of the Nilfgaardian Empire where she is alone and has to somehow survive while her parents travel leagues to find and save her?? And so having Mistle meet her in Gors Velen only to later hang out with the Rats in Gheso two weeks later makes it feel like Ciri stepped through a portal in New York to land in New Jersey? When it should be more like stepping into a portal in New York and ending up in Texas?

Thanedd and the political plot are sooo central this season but because everyone immediately reaches everyone else and characters even on horseback travel long distances so fast it feel like they're squabbling about who gets to rule which burrough of New York or something, not countries on a continent. Like look at the map:

It doesn't feel like these characters exist on this map, and that just throws off the whole vibe. Like yeah some of the writing decisions are stupid, some of the decisions characters make have no internal logic, and the costuming is mostly bad. But I feel like all that would be much better if it all felt more consequential because there was something behind it all. But instead only the places the characters are in right now matter and they get there because they have to for plot and they keep going back and forth because it's more fun if they split up but also they need to reunite but also they need to split up again and so we keep riding around in the same part of the woods.

Idk where I wanted to go with this, maybe I'm just nitpicky. Maybe I'm too autistic and got worked up about the wrong thing, but it's just so frustrating that it feels like they did not consider why plot point A leads to point B in the books and so just haphazardly throw shit together because they think it looks fun in the show. And the problems with the physical space just exemplify that.

part three of Uprooted thoughts:

I have a feeling the book is being 100% dead serious when it dips into action around chapters 4 and 5 but it's also silly as hell, the horror of Jerzy being turned into some corrupted Wood-zombie is offset by the absurdity of the wolves that come right tf out of nowhere to chase Agnieszka and Kasia. also: Mr. Dragon showing up out of nowhere to save Agnieszka was pretty funny but I'm not sure it was supposed to be

the Wood is less omg terrifying and more silly pot of plot contrivances so far

the tonal whiplash continues to drive me nuts. this book can be dead serious for a few pages but instantly snaps back to being lighthearted bullshit. idk how to feel about this. it doesn't make me feel good tho

I can't get over the extremely detailed descriptions of the gowns Agnieszka is magicking onto herself. even in abject misery and horror she finds the time to tell the audience what material she's wearing, what color it is, accents, accessories, etc. methinks there was a page or word count quota that Novik was required to fill (or she just really likes describing clothes and just wanted to write about that--fine, but does it need to happen this often and in the middle of Agnieszka being in danger of rape or in the middle of crying???). reminds one of My Immortal in a way

on page 86 Mr. Dragon verbally berates Agnieszka after saving him and all I could think was that she needs to beat this man into submission. I fucking hate him so far lmao and I would say well maybe the narrative wants you to dislike him except it also goes out of its way to show him as your garden variety anti-social dumbass a la Mr. Darcy. oh he just doesn't know how to express himself teehee! girl that's because he's in need of a good humbling. it ain't cute, especially not since he's over a century old. this shit needed to die decades ago

I have a trillion and one things to say about this central pairing but I will reserve that for later, the dynamic changed a fraction during chapter 6 but ehhhh. Mr. Dragon still acts like a toddler and I'm not a huge fan. maybe I will begrudgingly like him by the end of this, who can say. some of my favorite characters are unrepentant assholes with a hidden heart of gold. I just don't think they work well as love interests to characters like Agnieszka. I'm sure she's strong-willed (ahem ahem only because she had four brothers and is a tomboy of course uwu) but that's not the impression she gives in the first couple of chapters lmao

and lastly a general complaint: I wish the first chapter had spent more time establishing Agnieszka's life in Dvernik before she got whisked away to be Mr. Dragon's servant/student/whatever. there is no mystique to him and her return to her hometown feels a little weak. as a reader you can tell the Dragon's Not Really a Bad Guy within the first couple pages and the twee tone pretending that he's big bad and evil is pretty grating. just typical "self-aware fairy tale inspired book" nonsense and I ain't a fan
