the canadian online art book project is a free digital library of art historical texts on various canadian artists / artistic scenes ... you can download the books or just read them on their site and the art canada institute’s site as a whole is really fun to poke around like they have a glossary of canadian art history :0 the biographies all kinda follow the same format but i still really enjoy reading them ... some of my faves have been on annie pootoogook, françoise sullivan, and oviloo tunnillie

my brother’s parents were seriously injured when they were hit, on their motorcycle, by a 20-year-old woman who ran a stop light while on her phone. they are both going to be in the hospital, and then rehab, for a long, long time. they are self-employed and since his dad won’t be able to walk for at least 6 months, they are scared they will lose their business & home.

wish you all could have been with me today … i am in the process of helping a prof at my uni install his exhibition .. he makes digital & hand-made collages & they are so, so cool .. the digital ones are so layered & complex but also heavily referential w/ identifiable iconographies .. some of them really felt like a love letter to online & blogging culture … i felt seen looking at them it was kinda crazy ngl
