Thinking about how far I've come over the past 9 years of writing as a commitment.

Long post.

My dad died October 24th 2014 from cancer, and my mum around December time told me to start writing again, to do what I love but take it seriously because I was old enough (luckily my dad died like 2 months after I finished college so I didn't have to worry about college)

I went to the library on the 1st March 2015 and started planning and writing the original plans for Terraclaw. That year was me trying to find where I stood with writing, and I enjoyed every second of it.

Terraclaw went through a lot - in total, I have about 3 or 4 notebooks full to the brim with rewrites, outlines and the lot. All of that scrapped, but I'm keeping it for the memories.

In 2018 I had a health problem and ended up in hospital. The end of October to end of 2019 was spent recovering and teaching myself how to write again because I was that ill I'd forgotten how to, and a few other things too. I picked Terraclaw back up again, my baby. I was home.

Terraclaw at this point had gone through at least 6 or 7 rewrites, and more were to follow. I got rid of most of the rewrites out of shame of not being good enough. Because it wasn't perfect like I'd hoped it would be

2020 was when my life exploded. I found my niche in Angels,Demons, Gods and Reaper supernatural fantasy fiction and I haven't looked back since. The ideas haven't stopped coming, I have so many ideas and I've gone back to Handwriting because I love the wips I do and Handwriting is easier for me.

Today it isn't just Terraclaw's anniversary, but my anniversary of taking Writing seriously. I wouldn't change this for the world. I love my job (yes i consider writing my fulltime job, even though twchnically im unemployed and cant work for disability reasons. You get the picture), I love my life and who I am. Writing is a part of me, you can't take it away from me because then I wouldn't be me.

And I'm glad I've met all of you. So thank you, each and every one of you.

I'm so proud of who i am, how far I've come and I'm so proud of YOU GUYS for loving what I do so much and interacting and all that jazz.

Hi hon! How are you and how's things going? Been writing?

Things are going alright! I have been writing! I have to write about 3k in a project for a client I'm trying to wrap up and I am d r e a d i n g it.

But I know I'm going to feel so much better once it's finally finished on monday! Then I only have a couple smaller projects to work on and I can focus more fully on my own book ;o;.

Well, it's probably VERY late for this...

But here's the August / Writeblr roundup and overview?

Through this writeblr, I have managed to reach 1000 posts!! (half of them being reblogs, but that's no matter LOL)

I have managed to reach 74 followers, and I am glad that I captivated a lot of people with my world, the Melodiverse!!

MY FAVORITE MUTUALS THAT I'VE MADE THROUGH WRITEBLR, a list:

@impaledlotus - We met through me liking his many WIPs (for example, The Chronicles of Lathsbury or TCoL for short! I'm planning to make an appreciation post for that WIP later today hehe)

@athenixrose - I met Athena through being utterly captivated by the "ARBU", or the Athena Rose Book Universe, and the many WIPs that exist inside it!! (looking at Terraclaw, and Wildlands, specifically!)

@carefulpyro - I met lovely Cassius through this single message in my Tumblr DMs (hope he doesn't mind me sharing a screenshot of this message):

And little did I know that this first message, would bring me to discover Chronicles of Avalon (the chosen one WIP mentioned in Cass's first message), and fall in love with the many characters, like: Castien, Jami, Kit, and Tallesin thus far!)

4. That brings us to Natsume, or @365runesofpassion! A lovely positive person, with a wonderfully weaved world, called the Storyverse!

5. @blind-the-winds - Also known as Jax, I first met him through discovering The Nameless Song, a fantasy WIP whose vibes are that of: Final Fantasy, Dungeons & Dragons and Art Nouveau! It was through his writeblr blog that I discovered a thing he calls "Witching Hours" where he spends exactly 2 hours on Tumblr answering any asks and posting things in his queue, that's what I've been told anyway LOL

6. @circa-specturgia - I discovered their blog through their amazingly described dark fantasy WIP, Circa Specturgia!

7. @mel-writes-with-her-dragons - I discovered her blog through the absolutely adorable URL and was instantly intrigued by many of her WIPs!

8. And finally, the amazing Locke (@lockejhaven!) - I discovered his blog through the North Haven Discord Server (which is a discord server where people can set up "realms" by subscribing to different categories on the server!)

WHAT'S UP NEXT FOR THIS WRITEBLR BLOG?

Well, since school is starting up for me on Tuesday next week, just a warning that I may NOT be as active as I was during summer. But other than that, in the background, I'll try to work as much as I can on whichever WIP strikes my fancy on that day!

Hi Athena! Thank you for asking!

Not a lot of writing unfortunately, but I did read the entirety of Ella Enchanted yesterday in one sitting and it was very satisfying. Prince Charmont leaves real men in the dust. That boy is such a romantic.

And I’ve been developing my characters from that Archetype story I’ve been working on and I made a picrew of The Outlaw:

I think her name is going to be Casandra, Cadenza, Cassia, or Camira. I haven’t decided yet. But I do know she has been framed for a crime she did not commit and is consequently on trial for the crimes she did commit, mostly piracy and the like.

How’s the writing for you? Any progress on Terraclaw?

I feel bad for Dorothea in Terraclaw because she finds out her husband is cheating on her and has been for years and the mistress and her husband have a son together and she just doesn't get angry... she just accepts it and tells Valentinus to look after the king.

(This is my wip. I love them)

Oh damn, that sucks for her! I love that she doesn’t get angry, though. She has every right to be, so it says a lot about her that she isn’t!

Hi there bud, hows things going? What part of your wip are you most proud of at the moment?

Hi!! Things are going well, mostly! We had a huge storm in my area yesterday that rocked our shit for a few hours, but my internet and power are back on and I'm happy about that :D

As for my WIP, right now, I'm mostly proud to be so close to the end 😅 it's been 10 years since the concept peeked it's little head up and about one and a half since I really figured out how the series would go, and now I'm six months into drafting the second book and I'm almost done!! Which would've been absolutely impossible for me before!!!

So yeah, super proud about that :D what about you?? How are things, what parts are you proud of or excited for in Terraclaw and Wildlands??

Who is your favourite character in the paramour cast Which wip is your favourite Why is it your favourite How many wips are you actively working on?

aww 💛 as a blanket statement you can always ask me about literally anything wips or otherwise ur my Faveeee

hya is my favorite character in paramour absolutely ngl. if paramour was a piece of media that i was presented with (that i didn’t make) i would absolutely be batshit insane over this man he checks every one of my fucking boxes 😭😭😭 like i literally made a character i would simp for as a mc i’m not joking. if you look at the two main blorbos from media that i really like (hanzo from overwatch and geralt from the witcher) like hya is. them. It’s Just Him. with less of a good bone in his body he’s way less noble than those two PFF. but yeah i’m not even ashamed to admit that i’m just in LoVe with this terrible man.

so in general paramour and tcol are my favorite wips. i love all of my wips in some way shape or form but these two are currently my favorites! i love the worldbuilding for tcol and the characters so much (like how you’ve had terraclaw for a long time i’ve had tcol since i was like ??? 12-13 years old? so like at least a decade and some change LMAO) and it’s so great finally getting to create the world it always deserved but i was too young to really make. and paramour just scratches my Itch for particular character dynamics and situations so i’m just constantly frothing at the mouth over it.

HAHA so tbh i would say all of my wips i am actively working on just some more actively than others. it’s only bc my brain doesn’t have that amazing focus that you have to genuinely work on stuff i’m constantly all over the place. when i get into certain moods i’ll work on one thing then another (or in moods like the past few days i just whine and work on Nothing) lol.

in total i think i have… 15 wips i’m “actively working on” (to varying degrees) and then i have 9 wips that are currently just chilling in idea land. once i get a gist of the plot or a character fully thought out that’s when i consider a wip being “actively worked on”

I got myself a pair of comfort shoes since A has moved away and I landed on a new pair of trail running-shoes. Went out and gave them a try and I liked them. 

Did some easy intervals 

1 min run  90 seconds fast walk 

and repeated for a total of 20 minutes. 

It was a nice, easy workout for this Monday, and I got lucky because as soon as I came back home it started pouring rain.

❝ EARTH DRAGON SLAYER FORBIDDEN ART ! ❞

Twyla Redfox doesn’t remember much about her life before she was taken in by the earth dragon, Terraclaw, but the brunette supposes that she had to have had a normal family. Not that it really matter, she looked at the earth dragon whom raised her for till she was roughly six as though she was her mother. Which is why it was utterly heartbreaking when the dragon went missing. Twyla was left alone for so long and cried for her dragon for even longer. But, ten years later, the girl finds herself at home once again with a family unlike any other. She has three rowdy adopted brother as well as a sweet adopted little sister. All of whom are dragon slayers just like her. A sort of magic that is seemingly rare, even in time period full of magic and magic guilds. Twyla is finally at spot where she feels like nothing could ruin her life, but, that sentiment is quickly eased when she is swallowed up by a mysterious storm that is unlike anything that she has every scene in her life…

@cirianne - well, just in general, I LOVE YOU AND ALL YOUR WORK SO MUCH!! I don’t know how I can articulate this any more than I have done. I mean, your Street Magic universe is definitely my favourite (MARISSA, LILLY. AND. ALICIA. ARE. AMAZING!), and then there’s the (admittedly highly self indulgent) crossover we did with your Alicia and my Anjelika (as well as all our other RP’s). You’re just in general a good bean and ily so much. I am also loving Blackborn right now, so I highly recommend everyone checks it out! ANOTHER THING - THANK YOU FOR HOSTING @yourocsbackstory EVENTS! They were such an amazing help in my preparation for NaNo, thank you so much!

@dove-actually - I don’t know how to say this, but before I came across Knight Errant, I wasn’t really into stories about knights and stuff, but I just LOVE Lady Sarra so so SOOOOO much! She’s an amazing character and I love all your pieces with her! She’s so fascinating to read about. (also I keep thinking about your lovely comments from my Blameless piece, they give me life ily so much)

@ardawyn - as you’re very aware, I recently went on something of a crusade through all your work, and I cannot express enough how much I am in love with your work! The Dawnbringer is just so amazing, and the characters you’ve created are so deep and amazing and I look forward to reading more from you!! (this one is my favourite for sure but you already knew that).

@pens-swords-stuff - first of all, THANK YOU FOR HOSTING THIS POSITIVITY EVENT! It feels nice to spread the love for all these amazing talented people. SO THANK YOU! Secondly, Project Vestige is just so intriguing! The entire concept is such an interesting setup, and it makes me very hopeful that your NaNo project is a success, because I truly want more out of it!

@quilloftheclouds - so once again someone that hosts such nice things for everyone to partake in - Storyteller Saturday! - it’s a lot of fun to find out things about not just yours, but other people’s writing! Thank you for this! But easily my favourite thing is the world of One Siren’s Soul - you’ve got such a wonderful world there, and the treasure hunting aspect is amazing! Also those chapter titles you said were your favourites from that STS a few weeks ago?? So punchy and SO GOOD!

@halrose - so I only found your work recently, but from what little I have seen from Terraclaw, I am so fascinated and I eagerly anticipate more! I hope you find your way out of your writers block soon, it sucks being in that situation!

@writerlina - so your as-of-yet-unnamed-WIP that is set in the UK with magic powers, I am in love with all of it. Just all of it. The Agency is formidable. A young woman referred to as a Phoenix with such unmatched superpowers????? YES????? (also your tag of ass-kicking-lesbians gets me excited to see this ok)

@ratracechronicler - MOONSHINE. IS. AMAZING. End of story. Honestly I don’t know what it is about the Rival’s pieces from the backstory event but yours??? Is so good??? The sass and confidence is just AWESOME! I haven’t read nearly as much as I would like from Williams’ story but I am excited for more!!

@bookenders - you have such a collection of amazing WIP’s (Heart to Heart????) but my FAVOURITE has to be Fish Food! It’s so unique and I can’t complain when mermaids are involved, but I think the humour balances well with the much darker material you have for it. It works so well and you do it so, so MASTERFULLY!!

@mvcreates - what can I say beyond you’re such a talented writer and artist! You’ve got such an amazing cast of characters with variety and such charm, I love them! I am really looking forward to more from The Blue Jay (prohibition murder mystery hell yes???). The representation is so good and I don’t know what else to say beyond how much I love all of them!

I’m so sorry for such a long post, but I really just wanted to spread my love for all you amazing talented people out there. Thank you all for sharing your stories with the world! I do have lots of your posts sitting in my drafts that I intend to reblog but then I procrastinate, so I’m sorry for never actually getting around to it. But please! I love you all!
