Twitter Account Suspension PSA!

Over the past few weeks, there have been reports of random accounts being terminated. Twitter wrongfully terminated these accounts on the justification of "evading a suspension", even though many of the account owners never did anything to warrant a suspension.

I suggest reading this thread by Silver (Crazy4Material) on what's going on.

I was actually shocked by how thin on the ground the 40k side of the Adepticon preview turned out to be. Chaos Space Marines as the next codex isn't really that much of a surprise, but my money had been on Votann since they've had a bunch of stuff queued up for some time.

Turns out they were in the next Kill Team box, along with the return of Genestealer Cult Brood Brothers using the new Cadian Shock Troopers. Not a bad value for its contents, even if it does recycle the original Deathwatch: Overkill cult leaders.

I like that the Hernkyn Yaegirs demonstrate a bit of design continuity with the Pioneer grav-bike. The heavy overcoat look is striking, but I don't feel that it gelled well with the rest of the army even with the same underlying voidsuit detailing - but between these and the Ironhead Squat Prospectors, there's a diverse enough range to really convey the sense of multiple guilds, unions and professional associations allied under a single league.

And who doesn't love a bit more terrain?

Therapy // finishing card for my therapist

Dear T

I have no idea where to start putting into words what everything we have done together over the last 11 years has meant to me. When I first started therapy, I had absolutely not the first idea what it was going to look like. That was probably a good thing! I did not know that it was possible to have a relationship that could be as healing for me as ours has been. In fact, I did not know that I even needed all that healing. Remember, I was just going to have a couple of sessions so you could give me a plan of how to fix myself then off I would go and do it.

What you have given me instead is far more precious. You made sense of my life for me by helping me work out how it had been felt and experienced by me rather than all the stories I had told or been told about myself. You gave me compassion for my past self, comfort for my present self and courage for my future self. I will carry you and your words inside me for the rest of my life and that is a gift I will always treasure.

I’ve put off writing this card till the last minute because I wanted to make sure what I wrote was perfect. But a thing you taught me is that things can just be good enough and that messy but authentic can mean more than perfection. I’m sure I will think of things afterwards that I will wish I had written, but I will trust that your heart will hear them anyway.

So thankyou for meeting me in the mess where I was 11 years ago and for staying, guiding and journeying along with me since then and never giving up even when things were tough. You found me, and then you helped me find myself. You really have changed my life. Can I write that I love you? Because I do.

Update

I finally heard from dA staff.

The reason behind terminating my account was based on multiple reports of harassment and hate speech. The proof of this hate speech? The journals of mine that were meant as PSAs for theft.

They claim that, especially in regards to my first PSA back when Shanna was being harassed over a TDA model's attire, leading to myself being harassed for standing up for her. Due to the way things were worded, dA staff agreed that it was grounds for harassment and bullying.

Their second example was the PSA made during the entire LyraLaney debacle. Due to the amount of screenshots that disclosed personal information linked to the victims of Lyra, such as Paypal receipts and such, that was agreed to also be grounds for harassment and bullying, but doxxing was also considered due to said personal information (despite me doing my best to ensure that was either struck out or not shown at all).

The third was in regards to my account getting multiple reports for, again, harassment and bullying, with hate speech included in a couple of said reports. This comes not that long after my models were stolen for a third time, so I can only think that MEGACollector may have mass flagged my account as a final petty move for getting their own account taken down. It may not be related, but in my opinion its pretty fishy that the timeframe between their account being terminated and my own being terminated is too close to be a coincidence.

The deviantART staff concluded that, after taking a look at the types of journals I had posted over the years (and more recently, the PSA journals and status updates), my account met the criteria for breaking their guidelines on multiple occasions. I tried to argue with this claim, but again the proof they used were the PSAs and the multiple reports my account had supposedly gotten. It was also noted that "ban evading" was considered, but "gracefully" not thrown in as I was forthcoming with the fact that I had used incognito mode to check whether my content had been deleted from MEGACollector's gallery prior to their own termination.

They were firm on their stance and I will NOT be getting my account back. As frustrating as this is, there isn't much else that I can do to appeal their decision. As such, below is again the link to my alt account that will now ultimately become my new main account. I'm going to start uploading what I could save of my work (between tumblr, instagram, etc) now so that the gallery is not empty and I can get restarted.

I was told one of the most chilling recollections yesterday and I felt the need to share it.

My friend was part of the massive lay-offs at Toys-R-Us back in 2008. He was part of 23 people who were fired because of petty reasons but also because he had been working longer and making more money. Toys-R-Us would go on to fire several of their higher wage workers and hire lower wage workers to save money. They would then go bankrupt shortly after that. This is not about Toys-R-Us though. This is just to set the background.

P, my friend and current coworker, was in the office as he was being let go for something minor. The manager was firing several people that day. His coworker had just gotten fired before him. His manager was with another manager when, for some reason, the topic of clocks came up conversationally before P was fired.

She mentioned she collected clocks and had them hanging on her walls. Just loads of clocks. She loved them.

P mentioned that they must make a lot of noise. You know, all that ticking.

She said, and it seemed from his telling of how she said it that it was very matter-of-fact and calm, "Oh, I don't turn any of them on."

P said that it was probably one of the most horrifying things he'd ever heard.

And, maybe, if you're thinking at first that perhaps it sounds innocuous think about it a little deeper because that shit is SCARY.

What kind of person professes a love of clocks and goes out of her way to collect clocks and then just...leaves them dead and nonworking on her walls?

Yes, some clocks are decorative. Some people would have a clock for the history and not leave them working because they didn't come to them working. But to love specifically clocks and just have a bunch of nonworking dials just...staring at you silently? Taking an object with a purpose and just turning that purpose off? Can you imagine the silence of all of those faces? Can you imagine the stillness of all of those pendulums? It's loud. Louder than ticking. It's a haunting visage, at least in my mind.

And to know that at any point she had the power to actually let them be clocks instead of pieces of motionless artwork? These weren't broken clocks, friends. These were working clocks not allowed to work. She just didn't like the NOISE.

It's chilling. It's uncomfortable.

It's horrific.

Oh, and then he was fired.
