i'm sorry but every person of the male species i have ever met who 'likes doctor who' does not understand it. they don't get the trauma. they don't understand how important the season 1-4 progression is in terms of the doctor's own character development. they cannot process how complicated the doctor's friendship was with martha or donna's insecurities, and how deeply they shaped her run on the show. they don't get rose tyler. they don't think the doctor loved her. men will say 'yeah haha rose liked the doctor'....... and that's it??? sir did you not watch the impossible planet or satan's pit?? did you skip when the doctor literally said she's his religion? did your ears stop working when he told martha "we were together" or when he told donna that rose was his family???? i'm sorry but season 1-4 doctor who is for the girls and the gays only. men ruin everything then make a 2 hour youtube commentary video on why tentoo is a "clone" I AM GOING INSANE

gentle reminder for the fandom, since i've been noticing it in comments of decked out videos: backseat gaming typically isn't appreciated. telling the hermit to go to compass school is kind of annoying and not particularly constructive. telling the hermits to go check the underwater chest or the spider's den or whatever is spoilers, tango has directly asked you not to, you wouldn't want to make tango sad, would you? being like "lol how do you not know that yet" is rude, because the hermits aren't actually supposed to have watched any of the decked out development we have, and almost certainly haven't watched all the other hermits playing like we have.

even offering what you feel like is useful advice is normally going to be repetitive and unwanted instead of useful. yes, even if you've figured out a game meta the hermits don't seem to realize. yes, even if they're doing something really wrong or have the really wrong idea for how the game works. yes i KNOW the urge to explain the mechanic they're misunderstanding is strong. 99% of the time you should not do it.

if the hermit asks a question directly go ahead and answer the question! but if you weren't asked, don't say anything. don't be a backseat gamer.

what i like about ten is how genuinely unfit he is as the doctor. his tragedy is that he's too mortal to be immortal. he's immediately set to crash and burn the minute he spawned in. he's like an outlier and an outsider in basically every way and tbh it's wild that he became one of the most known incarnations of the character + some later incarnations have taken after him bc his whole thing to me feels very "i wish i wasn't who i am but i am terrified to be any other way". twelve on the other hand feels so much more definitive. like this is what i feel like the doctor would be like on a regular basis and more incarnations (in this era of nuwho at least) would realistically be more like him. this is the doctor at their core when they're not actively trying to disguise themself as something else. they are ancient and tired and angry and it shows clear as day
