1 In the Eternal One I take refuge. How can you say to my soul, "Fly away, like a bird, to the mountains": 2 There is no easy escape from the inner attacks of darkness. The arrows of fear pierce my heart. 3 The foundation of my self-esteem is destroyed. How can I be upright, or do what I need to do? 4 Yet God is within my body, which is Her holy temple. She also dwells in the heavens and sees us, tests us all. 5 Though She lets those with integrity endure many trials, Her soul hates those who love violence. 6 She will send fire and brimstone and a scorching wind to destroy the despair that attacks me. 7 For God is loving and just, and always does what is right. Those who act with integrity shall surely behold Her face.
Psalm 11 (feminine translation from Swallow's Nest: A Feminine Reading of the Psalms by Marchiene Rienstra)
Possible uses of this psalm:
1. Pray against inner enemies like despair, fear, and a sense of worthlessness
2. Triumph over adversities
3. Righteous retribution against foes

Old houses
I love old houses. In fact, I’m on my third one.
There’s something about walking through one that’s been, well, let go. And letting your imagination run. To see in your mind’s eye what it used to be, and what it could be. Including things that the original builder never imagined.
And then to do it. To fix what’s broken. To repair what’s been let go. To make improvements, to modernize – but in a way that’s totally in character.
Not so it can be a museum, but so it can be lived in. So that it can be my home.
Like I said, I love old houses.
Not everybody sees old houses that way. For some people, they’re just dumps that have outlived their usefulness. Too far gone or too out of date to be worth the bother.
But for me, there’s a real joy in making an old house come to life again.
One that’s given me a better understanding of what St. Paul’s talking about in today’s epistle. About how the whole “you are the temple of God” thing really works.
Because being the temple of God isn’t about perfection. And it’s really not about anything that we do. It’s about each of us being the focus of God’s loving building and rebuilding.
No matter what we’ve done, or where we are in life, God doesn’t look at us and see dumps that have outlived their usefulness. People who are too far gone or too out of date to be worth the bother.
Because when God looks at you, He lets His imagination run wild.
He sees in His mind’s eye what you used to be, and what you could be. Including things that you never imagined.
And then – if you’ll let Him – His greatest joy will be to do it.
To fix what’s broken. To repair what’s been let go.
To build you into everything that you were meant to be.
To make your heart His home.

𝐐: 𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐢𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐨𝐝𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭?
𝐀: “…No one can come to Me, unless The Father who sent Me draws them to Me. And only those who accept Me as I truly am are of My body, for The Truth resides within them and is revealed by their works. Yes, even these stumble in their walk, for they are but flesh.
Yet I am He who searches the hearts and minds, I know My own; I know whose love is steadfast, whose faith is unmoving...
And this is the True Church My people long for, the remnant which now is and is yet to come...
For it is not found outwardly in the world, but inwardly, in the temple of God...
I am The Lord.”

We are not your own (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Both body and spirit must be aligned to His Word. Your body is His temple. As caretakers of His temple, we must not do obey the One who has rights over what belongs to Him. We see many believers acting in a way contrary to His Word when it comes to their bodies, to which Romans 8:9 says: “you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.” To allow the flesh to speak louder than His Word is an indication the person might not be in Christ, otherwise they would starve the flesh rather than deny what His Word tells us in regards to how to behave in our bodies. Jeremiah 10:23 makes it clear that your life belongs to Him, so how can you go against His wishes when it comes to His temple? You are His clay, to mold however He wishes (Romans 9:21). A created thing doesn’t get to talk back to their Maker (Isaiah 45:9). Those who truly belong to Christ will delight in living according to His Word and bringing glory to His name—in word and deed (Colossians 3:17). Honor the price paid to set you free from sin by bringing glory to God.

Athena, goddess of wisdom, and all-powerful, being the only person that Annabeth could call on for help; being so cruel that she would be complicit in her daughter's death just out of spite.
Percy, age 12, weak and dying, having told Annabeth they could never be friends; not only sacrifices himself to save Annabeth's life without a minute's thought, but does it without her having to ask for help.

Where Can God Be Found?
So where is God and/or the Kingdom of God, if God is not in physical temples, statues, pictures, paintings icons, or in famous people? Luke 17:20-21 As Jesus said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you” Romans 8:9 You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit…

Looking and Finding Him Right Here
Have you ever looked for something that was right in front of you all the time? I could be wearing my glasses, and be looking for my glasses. I could be looking for my keys and they could be right on the counter in front of me. We could be looking for the rain to stop and miss the rainbow God sent. We could be taken with the brilliance of the star and miss the baby in the manger. We could be…

Quote
At the point of death that same breath returns to God. (Ecclesiastes 12:7) As with our birth, the presence of breath is not only equated with biological life but that life is clearly attributed to the Author of Life, our sovereign creator God... That Biblical breath is the Holy Spirit. This is comforting. You have been breathing every day of your life and that very breath is symbolic of God’s spirit with you... Without your being fully conscious of the reality, God’s Spirit has been flowing through you... In the desire to see God’s Spiritual power in bold manifestations, let us not forget the simple, subtle, and profound way we can have the Spirit in the midst of every minute—literally every breath. The best part is, even when we are not aware of it, that powerful Spirit fills our lives in ways we may never fully know or appreciate... When we are least able to take the time to think of God and God’s presence, just like breathing, God is still right there... Imagine the power when we take the time to be deliberate and really give God’s Holy Spirit some serious thought!... Breathe deep. Fill your lungs with the breath that flows from the One who created you and called you Good. It’s worth every breath you take!

2023 NOVEMBER 16 Thursday
"Remember that the heart, not the head, is the temple of God. Spiritual and religious ideas are matters of the heart - not the head. If our hearts are filled with the presence of God, then our minds will also find enlightenment."

The two witnesses. When they arrive, everything will change
The Bible prophecies of two witnesses in the last days. In Revelation chapter eleven, we read of the two witnesses preaching repentance. When they arrive on the world stage, everything will change. Their ministry, or time of prophecy, will last three and a half years. I believe that timeline begins in the first half of the final seven years of Daniel’s seventy-seven’s prophecy. When they are…

Set Apart
1 Then he led me out into the outer court, toward the north, and he brought me to the chambers that were opposite the separate yard and opposite the building on the north. 2 The length of the building whose door faced north was a hundred cubits, and the breadth fifty cubits. 3 Facing the twenty cubits that belonged to the inner court, and facing the pavement that belonged to the outer court, was…
