“If I do this, if I sever our connection, will I still be your true love?”

“Why would you care?” Jacks’s lips thinned as if he couldn’t wait to be rid of her, but the look in his eyes said he wanted to devour her. “I imagine after today you won’t be kissing me again.”

“Just answer the question, Jacks.”

In a flash, he wrapped his cool hand around her shaking one and dragged the dagger lower, creating a line of pink skin as he moved it to the center of his chest. “I don’t know if you’re my true love, Donatella. All I know is that I want you to be.”

His hands left the dagger and slid around her waist. For a moment she couldn’t move. His fingers were colder than they had ever been, creating chills that went deep beneath her skin.

“I know what I did was wrong. But if you’re looking for a sad story where I justify what I’ve done, you’re not going to find it. I’m the villain, even in my own story. But you were supposed to play a different role.”

Misery filled his eyes. “You were supposed to be my true love. You were supposed to want me, not him. You were supposed to be as obsessed with me as I am with you.” He gripped her even tighter, the dagger threatening to pierce his skin, as he leaned his cool forehead against hers.

“If you’re holding back from ending this because you think I’ll kill you or hurt you once our connection is severed, that thought could not be further from the truth. When I told Legend I’d kill you if he didn’t give me the power I needed, I didn’t mean it—I wouldn’t have done it. A part of me even hoped he’d say no, so that you would walk away from him and choose me. I’m selfish, and I want you, but I would never harm you.”

“You already have,” Tella said. And then she slashed his chest with the dagger.

OKAY SO I just read all of the Once Upon a Broken Heart books and OH FUCKING BOY DID I LOVE THEM, I can't stop thinking about Eva and Jacks, man and it's ruining my life. :')

Anyway, yes, I read them all and loved them all so god damn much, but there were a few questions and wants that I had by the end of the book.

First of all- wasn't Jacks supposed to become human if he fell in-love with a human??? Wasn't that LITERALLY THE POINT OF TELLA AND DANTE/LEGEND'S STORY IN LEGENDAY/FINALE?? Someone please answer this for me because I have no-clue why Jacks wasn't immortal anymore by the end of A Curse for True Love.

Second- justice for Luc! Damn, I wanted to see more of this boy!! And not just because he was a side character that didn't get enough time in-story, but because it would have been really nice and fun to have seen a little more of him and it would have made sense! Like, out of all of the side characters, I would have loved more of him in the second book. It would have been so funny to see him hanging around in the the Magnificent North still after all that went down with him in the first book. I also think that he could have helped Eva re-jog some of her memories and we could have seen them become truly good friends. Not only that, but I think it'd reflect so much growth from both Eva and Luc from who and what they were at the beginning of the book and I think that would have been a really nice way to tie up their story (but I get it, it's about Eva and Jacks, which I don't mind. Just wanted to see them grow enough to become friends through everything that they had both gone through)

Thirdly- the last book was so much shorter than I anticipated it would be and for that I was a little sad, but it was still a fine book and I loved the ending!

All and all, no book is perfect, but these were near perfect books for me and I still loved them and will for sure be reading them again soon! :)

It’s mostly just notes at the moment but I’m very excited about it!

I guess it’s set after? they kill god? So Billy and Tella take Tatiana after it all over and move?? to the southern states of america probably, i think that fits with billy’s whole cowboy thing? from what I know about that kinda thing? and open a ranch down there, there’s plenty of space to run around in for tatiana and she can explore and just generally be a kid

They have horses obviously and i like to imagine Billy teaching Tella how to ride them bc I can imagine him being nervous about it but ends up having fun, i imagine Tatiana can also ride and becomes Tella’s biggest cheerleader when he starts learning.

They have a dog, who nobody knows when they got or how they got but this dog has adopted them now and loves to hand out on their front porch or come with Billy when he’s tending the horses. So naturally they get him a friend.

The chicken’s are Tella’s favourite idk he just seems like a bird guy, he loves the chickens and plus it means he can get fresh eggs to make breakfast before He and Billy work on the ranch and Tatiana goes to school. Billy and Tatiana use the eggs when they bake too and cooking becomes a whole family affair which i think would be so sweet.

Tatiana’s favourites are the cows because “Mr Billy? did you know cows have best friends??”

And every one from the union comes and visits a lot, Andy and Fuuko are forever staying over because even though Tatiana’s made new friends at school Fuuko will always be her best friend, Shen and Mui bc I like to think Tella and Mui bonded over being personal assistant adjacent and also being very in love with their boss.

They do a big meet up with everyone every summer bc Billy and Tella have the space and that means that they can catch up with everyone, Phil and his mum come and I guess he and Tatiana would act like cousins, and mico when she arrives. It’s a lot of fun and everyone gets to be happy and be like the big found family they are !

Genuinely very excited to write this, I think it’ll be a lot of fun!!
