something so heartbreaking is that beardo literally has a personality and nuance. in his audition tape he tells us a lot abt himself

he is very shy!! and cant open up easily!!

he acknowledges that his habit of beatboxing is quote "bothersome"

he wanted to make friends and hoped that his team would respect him :-(

why would they give so much detail to a filler character. beardo deserved like at least 2 extra episodes. and an actual friendship with someone (sky leonard or ella i think)

Honestly, I always thought that if the Pahkitew cast teammates could be friendly and be friends with each, you fix like 70% of the season. You could have made it a free for all and all the relationships would end up basically the same because most of them there wouldnt hang out with each other willingly, except like Ella.

But no, we couldn't watch Dave slowly becoming friends with people he thought were weird, we couldn't have a scene with Topher helping Rodney try to woo women and failing, we weren't allowed to see Scarlett, Sugar, and Amy be evil together, we didnt get Ella, Leonard, and Beardo going on a lord of the rings quest for a challenge.

I just think friendship could have saved the day. Ella was right.

I think 70% of the issues with Total Drama in general could be solved if we just wacked these people with the friendship stick. It's free character developpement and drama! win win!

While i probably won't be able to insert some of these into my rewrite (mostly because im not super invested in Rodney's character, oops) these are some GREAT ideas for interactions in general! Especially that last one. It's adorable!
