Let’s Begin: TCR Birthday Bash

Heya folks, it’s time to start thinking about the TCR Birthday Bash! 

I know it’s super early, but I reckon we could all do with something to look forward to, so I’m getting the ball rolling! :D 

The TCR Birthday Bash is a week-long fandom event, where each day is linked to a prompt that fans can then create content for (be it fanfic, fanart, headcanons, etc) that happens during the week of July 20th, the day TCR was originally released.

What this means at the moment is we need prompts! So if you have any ideas you’d like to see be a prompt for this year’s Birthday Bash, send them my way. When we hit around 20 prompts, I’ll close the prompts and open the voting. The six most popular prompts will be used for the Birthday Bash. 

(You can check out the full list of the submitted prompts for last year’s event here. Generally the prompts tend to be fairly open-ended, enabling folks to go in all sorts of directions with their creations.)

TCR Birthday Bash 2022!

Welcome back, folks, to another year of TCR Birthday Bash!

Did you miss us? Did you dream of us? Did you want to kiss us in the pale moonlight of a summer’s eve?

… Just me? Okay, yeah, valid, fair, understandable, cool cool cool.

@catsafarithewriter and I are deciding to get ahead of the world’s craziness before anything can stop us this year around, so we’re getting prepped about a month and a half early! Official dates are still being decided (as the calendar year always fucks up which week we officially want to choose), but they, along with prompts, will be announced Monday morning!

For now, we’re going to be opening up suggestions for prompts!

To those new to the event: Right now, Cat and I are just gathering prompts. Send in your suggestions, but keep them open! One word suggestions are best! Once we have about 20 to 30, we’ll compare our lists, and Monday morning put forth voting!

From the list we have, we’ll narrow it down to 6 prompts (with “Happy Birthday” always rounding it up to 7!), and post an official post about which days coincide with which prompt!

You’ll have about a month to prepare whatever you want to make/write/share, and once the time comes, we’ll all share and celebrate our creations!

So start getting excited folks! For now, over the course of this weekend (4/15/22 through to 4/17/2022), send your prompts to either me, Shelby, or to Cat! Private message or asks work best, but make sure we see it or it might not get added to the grand list!

Birthday Bash Prompt Submissions Still Open!

Hello folks, we are still accepting prompts for this year’s birthday bash, so please send them my way, either through ask, PM, or discord! Once we hit 20ish prompts, I will close the submission window and we can start voting on which ones will make it to the birthday bash!

If there's still room for prompts left, what about companion pieces to another fandom writer's works? Of course, if any of those writers are uncomfortable with that, they can opt their stories out

Sure! I think we’re pretty much there with the prompts, so I’ll add this and I’ll be closing the prompt submissions soon :)
