I’ve been thinking abt one of my older oni colonies and decided to doodle my first three dupes in that save

#keese draws #oxygen not included #but yeah these guys were my main scientist digger and rancher respectively #this was one of my actual spaced out style saves so ofc I chose the cold asteroid still #it was painful opening this save again to look at their traits as it was basically my first longer attempt #let’s just say I had no idea what I was doing and ran out of power literally everywhere #might do a rescue attempt on this save tbh sounds like a fun challenge #but yeah I actually have characterizations for most of the dupes in this save in my head they’re like semi ocs to me #they’re the ones I like to imagine fumbling about post olivia entering sleep mode #cause there’d be such a harsh contrast in how they’d all react and move forwards #burt in particular would take it rly hard mostly because he’s the only scientist #so everyone ends up looking to him for answers and help and he just doesn’t know how to provide any of it #he had already spent so long feeling overworked and under appreciated so this wouldn’t help at all #quinn on the other hand is generally more optimistic as they have gone through a lot of rough shit and made it out on the other side #so they see this as an obstacle they’ll all overcome and grow stronger from #they’re also just very used to being suddenly forced to say goodbye to people for potentially forever #harold was almost relieved by the whole event because it lead to a lot less activity in the neural chip network #which is in fact a big source of panic for most of the dupes but harold pretty much exclusively goes to like 3 rooms so he’s not as effected #he also just doesn’t like the noise of the hundreds of commands that he can’t even follow #he just manages the plants and the pips and sometimes helps with the cooking #he honestly really likes the freedom of figuring out what to do without instruction #as the pip farm he manages is very. well let’s just say pips tend to starve in there a lot #yknow thankfully I did give these guys a bunch of phones so at least they’d be able to still know what’s up with eachother still #still an uncomfortable feeling loosing that connection that you’ve been relying on for years

i love my go to method to making a place look cluttered and Lived In in my illustrations is to have papers tacked on the wall or on corkboards and shit

#nothing screams This Is An Environment like sticky notes everywhere #in my experience #my next apprach is usually stacks of books with papers sticking out #im usually terrible at drawing nicknacks in spaces just cuz it looks cery Dead and uniform #i try to use my own space as a reference but frankly i have So much shit and its usually small and doesnt match the vibe of whatever im draw #drawing so its usually not very helpful #so papers on walls is usually my go to #anyways im impressed vy how this is looking tbh #the color and rendering is going to be a fucking nightmare #michi tag #i debated drawing a lamp but i think the presence of a lamp that isnt even on will detract from what im trying to say #anyways im not usually big on like backgrounds and environments so this is a really good exercise to flex those non existent muscles #i think what makes it easier is that its fairly zoomed in so i dont have to draw a giant background for a tiny character and also #i had a pretty clear idea of what i generally wanted if not the minute details like the plant i added yesterday #ao its like ok a person hunched over a desk. blinds for the prison bar look a wastepaper basket for the MANY scrapped letters. aers everywhr #everywhere. thats the general idea so i just add the major elements and then go ok how do i fill in this empty space and just start adding s #shit. looking up reference pics helps too cuz idk what people normally have on their desks #i fucking love talking abt my art process bc if someone asked me in real life i couldnt say anything but if im talking to myself i have so m #much to say. no one wver asks the right questions during critiques anyways

Kiri Modern AU

Alright our girl Kiri!

Everyone gets confused when she says she's Neteyam's sister because she looks nothing like him or the other Sully kids. It makes her a bit sad tbh though she tries to pretend it doesn't get to her. Meanwhile, Neteyam's proudly calling her his twin even though that's not actually possible and she's actually a few months younger than him. But it gets people to shut up a bit.

Spider is her best friend, obviously, and they hang out in any free time they have in common. He's literally her favorite person. But it takes her some time to realize the feelings she has for him hidden under those years of friendship. She only really starts to realize when she becomes friends with Tsireya and some other girls in high school who kind of force her to think about it either by one of the girls being into Spider and it making her uncomfortable (cause she jelly) or someone straight up is like so you like Spider right? And she denies it but then she can't stop thinking about it and she's like SHIT. Panic ensues. 

Probably makes her own jewelry, has like a whole set up in her room with beads and pressed flowers and stuff. Most of what she wears is handmade. 

She wears Grace's necklace (obviously) and crochets her own clothes. The only things she doesn't make herself are some sweatpants that are way too big for her that she stole from her dad or like some basic things like tshirts and tank tops that she embellished herself. 

Kiri's bedroom is a fairy girl's DREAM! She's got plants literally everywhere, hanging from her ceiling, by her windows, on shelves. Her room is bursting with greenery and it's always flourishing. The plants are her babies. She's got crystals and candles hanging everywhere, some giant mushroom plushies (courtesy of Spider), and because I think she would, her bed is a mattress on the floor covered in comfy blankets and plant-themed pillows. Girl's probably got a mini-fridge in her room so she doesn't have to venture into her chaotic household when she's studying or busy, but it's also there for Spider (she leaves food in it for him because she's always worried the McCoskers don't feed him and they don't really). 

Kiri's pretty organized except for her yarn collection which is just an overflowing basket of different weighted and colored yarns. 

She cuts her own hair and likes the kind of choppy, wild look. She thinks her mother would be proud. 

She has all of Grace's published and unpublished work on a shelf or nook dedicated to her with what few pictures of her there are (so newspaper or magazine clippings, some Jake took of her with her trying to block the camera, etc). 

Kiri and Lo'ak still bicker all the time but her and Neteyam are really close, like actual twins though he still treats her like she's his baby sister. 

She wears bucket hats she embroiders her own designs on. 

She has a friendship bracelet on her wrist that Spider made her years ago that she refuses to take off. He made an adjustable tie for her so her growing doesn't become an issue. 

She's pretty smart too but also works hard. She likes getting good grades, it makes her feel accomplished. Her favorite subject is biology but she really wants to go into botany like her mom or just ecological studies in general. 

Spider is constantly secretly in her room cause he can scale the side of the house like a monkey and come in through her window. They watch movies together or sometimes he'll make jewelry with her for fun. She likes to fool around with his hair a lot and experiments with hairstyles. It's honestly their uninterrupted cuddle time and they also have some serious emotional talks as well. She's gotten pretty good at hiding him over the years, especially when he accidentally falls asleep and Neytiri comes to wake her up in the morning. 

She's probably super into environmental activism and is president of a school club dedicated to that. She doesn't do many sports aside from archery, which is a must for all the Sully kids anyway. I think she probably plays soccer with her brothers leisurely. And hide-and-seek tag with Tuk.

The type to be friends with her teachers because she can learn a lot from them obviously. She's let into the teacher's lounge because of that to just sit and chat tbh. Another reason she's not super popular with kids her age though. 

Starts watching Tsireya's swim practice when they become friends because she's a good friend like that. Can't stand Aonung though. 

Lowkey pretends she doesn't know Lo'ak at school cause he's kind of a class clown. Likes to make fun of how he drools whenever Tsireya is nearby though. Thinks Tsireya could do better but is secretly rooting for him.

Sapheans! Yippee! Ok so. Basically I kinda rip-offed Homestuck trolls lol sue me.

So-

These motherffuckers live on a really huge and damn dangerous planet with two suns and mostly hostile creatures. There's a lot of wild and different types of climates. The water is acidic, the clouds are extremely dense, and plants are also very dangerous. Yet though, these ffuckers seem to be the only sentient bitches on the whole damn orb.

There's a lot of racism ffucking obviously but it's coming from all sides. But there's also a lot of love. Their societies range from spiraling nauseatingly tall clusters of buildings to two dudes on an island and everywhere in between.

General design notes, mostly coloration wise y'know-

Their blood can be ANY color, but shades are specific to different type. And blood color determines hair(or feather) color, eye color, fins, marking color, and antenna and whatnot. I just used red and blue and green for examples it is not limited.

Pointy parts for. Well. Protection.

The parts colored as black act as kinda like an exoskeleton, though in general their skin is pretty tough, especially the face, and especially the face fangs.

Can generally have any shape horns, they come in all shapes and sizes.

Pretty much every single one has different markings.

Clothes. Are... A thing. Yes. They wear clothes actually lol.

More joints in their legs than humans have.

Yes they can dye their hair and paint their markings different colors.

There are ghosts! This species exists in a world with magics and supernatural elements and whatnot.

Ok so. Shit I have for them at the current moment.

Land-

Majority.

Their blood is generally mid-tone, skin grey, darker in warmer areas, lighter in colder.

Good hands, feet, and tail for grabbing things.

Two horns. One set of horns. However you put it. They use them bitches for navigation and farming and electricity. And of course murder.

Sea-

Second most uncommon.

No noses we don't do that in the ocean.

Bitches be in acidic ffucking water.

Their blood is generally bright and neon, skin can range anywhere from super light grey to super dark grey depending on how deep they are.

One horn, generally. Used for controlling the water. And of course murder.

Webbed hands and feet and a second set of eyelids.

Deeper you get, the freakier they can be TBH.

Underground-

Second most common.

Smaller eyes than average DUH. They ain't using them for much.

Antennas! ANTENNAS.

Two pronged horns. Or even rarer, two sets of horns. Used for searching out minerals and rare rocks and and lava and entrances and exits to caves. And of course murder.

Hands and feet good for digging through dirt or the toughest of rock.

Feelers on the face and a long slender tail good for reaching into cracks and crevices.

Blood is pale and dull like their skin.

Sky-

Uncommon.

Feathers, not hair.

Big ol wings.

Less leg joints than the others, makes them less bulky.

Big ol eyes for absorbing all the sunlight they get.

Thinner and longer fingers and toes than others, again, to be less bulky.

Horns used to control the weather. And of course murder.

Skin is dark, cuz of the sun. Blood is dark too.

Possible mutations-

Pictured is a land dweller with bat-like wings. It is a rare trait to have, but also they can actually fly.

Blood shade that doesn't match the type.

Abnormal amount of horns for type, including no horns at all.

Two different blood colors in one guy. They do not blend. This affects eyes and hair and markings.

Pupils.

Black or white blood? Nah that's just a myth. Right? Lmao.

Various other tidbits of mixings and matchings of traits, like gills on a land dweller or antenna on a sky dweller.

Lifeweaver Headcanons Part Two: Electric Boogaloo

❧ Is a ENFP-T(The Campaigner) on the Myers Brigg Type Indicator ❧ Has ADD/Inattentive Type ADHD. Has a very hard time with long mental tasks or even staying on task unless it's something that keeps him interested in it enough to focus on it. Tends to get easily sidetracked and is generally just, very disorganized and somewhat forgetful, not further helped by the fact he has a penchant for sometimes careless mistakes and losing/misplacing things often. Kinda sometimes looks like he's not paying attention at all when people talk to him when in reality, he's actually listening to almost everything. TLDR, he was hell to deal with as a kid for the overly organized system he grew up and was raised in, namely due to a very thick mixture of a lack of understanding/accommodation for it and understimulation.

❧ Smells very heavily like a mixture of lotuses and frangipani incense layered very thickly over the smell of petrichor/wet plant soil. Doesn’t matter where he is, this specific scent follows him everywhere. ❧His love languages is mainly Physical Touch, thickly mixed spending Quality Time with his loved ones, and is overall very physically affectionate and hug happy with almost everyone he has a platonic relationship with, unless they express they’re not fond of it otherwise. But his favourite way of expressing love and an interest in someone is via trying to bond with them/getting to personally know them/learn about their interests as much as possible so he can form a more intimate connection with them. ❧He’s a Buddhist who follows Theravada Buddhism in particular, which emphasises attaining self-liberation through one's own efforts. Namely out of personal choice, it’s unknown as of current if his family follows Buddhism/the same subsect of Buddhism though.  ❧He’s Vegetarian and follows a Buddhism based diet in that regard. Usually grows a majority of what he eats when he’s back at the Atlantic Arcology. ❧His favourite drink is Nom Yen(Thai Pink Milk) and his comfort food is Khao Niaow Ma Muang(Thai Mango Sticky Rice). Also has a fondness for Grass Jelly Tea and Matcha drinks wise, and Thai Pumpkin Curry food wise. ❧Fond of listening to music and podcasts while he works, and knows about Lucío and his music through this since he pretty much listens to nearly everything. But is especially fond of Thai and International folk music, Psychedelic Pop, lofi and generally highly experimental artists music wise. Among his favourites, he has a fondness for Kishi Bashi. ❧He likes doodling/drawing the people he meets down, especially when he likes them. He finds it not only a nice way to preserve the memory of said meeting but also a nice way to remember names and faces. He’s also fond of doodling down plant and animal life as well as the different places he goes to and things he finds amusing and pretty much every notebook of his has at least one dried flower sandwiched between the pages somewhere, if not, glued to a page and surrounded with said plant’s information.

❧ Is also fond of doing sculpting and anatomy/figure studies as a hobby, and likes sharing his work in that regard as a hobbyist. He also likes to paint with either watercolours or homemade watercolour pigments he made via experimenting with his plants just for the pure full blown curiosity of it to see if/how they’d show up on paper. He has a hobby out of making/attempting to make his own paper too. ❧Fond of kids and likes to play with them and sit down with them to teach them little things they find interesting together. Is 100% that uncle who'd take the kids out on hikes, camping trips and outings to the butterfly garden just to teach them cool stuff about nature. But in regards to having them? Is highly unsure/hesitant about the idea to even touch it, much less consider it(tbh doesn't really think about it at all). Namely due to him personally thinking he wouldn't make that great of a parent to begin with, on top of wanting to stick to his independence and not wanting his status and lifestyle as a fugitive to affect anyone who'd have any degree of dependence on him. ❧ Is likewise also fond of animals, and has befriended or attempted to befriend almost all the animals in the nearest vicinity. It's to where whenever he travels certain places he used to frequent in India, he has his own posse of stray dogs that follows him EVERYWHERE, due to them just immediately imprinting on the man from him regularly feeding them and giving them attention. And India ain't the only place that's like that for him.

shsjshs idek where to start with Dola ;w; thank u for giving me an outlet for talking about her LND incarnation omg I hope you know what you’re getting into when you asked this…

so like!! in general she’s my OC that I use everywhere bc I just like her too much to even care about making other OCs because to me she’s like… the ultimate cool doll >.> she tends to retain a lot of her traits each time + I try to keep as much of her original conflicted artist background as possible while still making it make sense with the lore of the universe I’m putting her in

So in LND as MC, she still has Caleb + Josephine, is a Hunter, and ofc has the aether core in her heart but strays from canon in that:

Art has a huge place in her life because her parents were renowned artists and she was primed to follow in their footsteps. She ends up dropping it sometime after she was orphaned though, and only picks it up around high school age and in secret

Gets dreams of fragments of her past lives with Rafayel, but she can never recall the face of the man that’s always in her dreams once she wakes up. Trying to sketch out the man’s face is her main reason for getting into art again, and it snowballs into her making art inspired by her dreams in general

She knows a lot about Lemurian myth and history because she dreams about the place + this one Lemurian so much that she had to look into it, and by extension is fascinated by the sea

Which also means that she did actually attend Rafayel’s lectures at her university when he became a visiting professor there. They kind of only have one proper conversation throughout that entire year though.

Her heart issues affect her more than they affect MC in canon, so the UNICORNS treat her a little differently to work around it. Largely that means she doesn’t go on as many missions as MC seems to? And is often deployed a support/the human radar bc of her Evol rather than a frontline fighter.

Doesn’t feel that strongly about being a Hunter once she actually is one? Tbh I think she kinda hates a majority of the work and commitment that comes with it but feels she can’t just quit after spending so much time working towards becoming one. Xavier and their training sessions together are kind of the main things keeping her there (+ she has fun killing Wanderers)

She’s not as bubbly or cheerful or bratty as the canon MC is. Her personality is a lot more reserved and introverted and she LOVES studying + learning, but there’s still a bit of playfulness there. There’s actually so many parts of the main story, Tender Moments, and Bond/Memoria that I’m changing or outright excluding because they just don’t work out for her the same way they do with canon MC sigh >.>;;

LOVES plants and flowers. In every iteration I have of her she’s at least half covered in floral tattoos and her home is always full of them! Very into flower language to an extent that I’m not ahdjsjs she makes me research a lot of things…

Kind of obsessed with death (mostly because she believes herself to be on a short timer) and is a little fucked up? Will join Rafayel in his quest for vengeance and will believe his murders are all justified if she finds out about them tbh.

^Okay I feel like that’s a lot ahdjshsja >.> in LND I wrote her with Rafayel in mind as the endgame >.> Zayne’s more of a bestie/brother/secret third thing, and Xavier… I guess to her he’s a friend but he definitely is in love with her? And Dola eventually becomes aware of that and isn’t quite sure what to do about it.

Gosh anyway!! Thank you for being interested ahdjshsjs she’s been my baby and muse for like… 3-4 years at this point? I have so many thoughts about her like you wouldn’t believe ;-;

Idk I don’t think you’re giving the other links enough credit when it comes to preparedness. You’re kinda implying that they could just wandering into town whenever to restock but that’s not really true. I’d actually argue Wild had the easiest time because he could just teleport to ten different villages to buy whatever he needed at any given time (that’s how I played him in BOTW lol. I’d just clear out the stalls every few days tbh I’m too lazy to farm stuff myself sometimes). Plus he has a Hyrule that is full to the brim with natural recourses. Most of the other Links had much harsher worlds.

Time spent several weeks (months?) trapped in the future post-apocalypse where the only civilization to survive was a single village in the far corner of Hyrule. Every other town or place was destroyed or cursed or frozen.

Legend was a wanted criminal so he couldn’t just wander into town and buy a loaf of bread.

Twilight was trapped as a wolf for a long while and was actively chased away.

Sky was stuck on the ground without any civilization aside from an old lady and Groose.

Hyrule didn’t even have towns to go to during his first adventure.

Wind spent weeks at sea, which he couldn’t even fish in because there are no fish in the Great Sea. Plus he couldn’t get water easily. Arguably I’d say he had the hardest time with that because the life of a sailor is dang hard because of the lack of resources.

So I’d argue that the other are actually way more prepared to deal with the food situation than Wild, who’s literally never had to ration because he ran into food everywhere he went. Seriously it’s basically impossible to go ten feet in BOTW without seeing a mushroom. Even in the desert there’s stuff it pick. (It’s actually a problem for me when playing lol I get so distracted picking up each and every berry)

Warriors especially would be good at monitoring food levels because he was a Captain of a large army. If I know anything about war conditions in the pre-modern world it’s that food and starvation was a huge factor in winning wars. Fun fact - most strongholds and castles fell because people were starved out, not because the doors were bashed down. That’s why modern armies are so big on logistics now. So Warriors would be on top of that with details and numbers on how much an active man eats in a day and what foods keep and what’s the best way to transport it. There’s no way he’d not be deeply involved in something so important. So I doubt he doesn’t know the challenges of keeping a small army fed while on the road.

I respect your opinion and I get what you're saying, but you're missing the major thing that generally, the others can't cook. While that just may not be a mechanic in any of their games, it doesn't matter.

Like obviously the others aren't completely useless and I get why that pisses people off that Wild may be good at something that the others may not be.

It's not unreasonable to assume that the worlds of the other Link's are just as bounteous when it comes to wild plants and animals that can be hunted but the fact is that they NEVER needed to resort to foraging or hunting for their food. A lot of them healed up by killing monsters and picking up their hearts that popped out, which idk how that would translate to reality but whatever.

Wild was born with nothing to his name but a weird little iPad, he was forced to pick up everything along the way so he wouldn't starve. He couldn't even properly cook until he left the great plateau.

Not everyone plays the game like you do, it's honestly crazy to me that you waste your rupees on food that you can literally pick up off of the ground. I only buy things that can't be harvested like sugar and goron spice and milk.

You can have whatever headcanons you want but don't come to me acting like I'm wrong for not having the same ones.

When he can’t fight someone, he’ll go to you and Naruto and start flinging his hands everywhere and ranting.

You have probably eaten a bug once. Or maybe twice. Or maybe whenever you’re dared to. Which is often. Too often, it’s a little out of hand actually. Kakashi has seen you throw up more than 8 separate times trying to eating a wasp. Yeah good luck with that one Kakashi.

When Sasuke left the village, you probably went with him because he needs emotional support tbh. And that’s how you ended up with the Akatsuki and created that dumbass trio.

(Hidan, Deidara and you)

It’s a little strange how you three came together as one trio, seeing as you all don’t have that much in common. You’re like the glue for you three, and also the one with the braincell. Although it’s not often, you do get to be the one out of control from time to time. But mostly because you want to steal and Hidan and Deidara are just…not very good at it.

Hidan has tried to sacrifice Deidara at least 5 times the first week all of you were hanging out.

Every time Deidara remembers this, he puts little bombs in inconvenient places to blow up on Hidan. Just to be a nuisance.

Deidara was probably the first one to hang out with you, Hidan following after because…well let’s be honest. He loves chaos and will do anything to cause it or be apart of it.

After becoming friends, Hidan has subtly tried to make you and Deidara convert because he wants you guys to also worship Jashin to become immortal. I mean it probably worked? You’re still alive by the time Hidan was buried, and the by the time Deidara had that fight with Sasuke.

Speaking of Sasuke, Deidara was definitely not jealous of the fact that you and Sasuke also hung out. A lot. Like a lot, a lot. He also sees you hang around Itachi to tell him about all the trouble you, Sasuke and Naruto got into. He wants to get into that kind of trouble too. But you’re all criminals so technically you can’t.

Ok. Same people, different time but Madara is the one with the braincell most of the time. You could take one look at the three of you and point out which one was the brains.

To be honest, you’re all dumbasses but in varying levels. You being the chaos, everything is on fire dumbass, Hashirama being the heart of gold dumbass, and Madara being I want to kill people dumbass.

When you three met and didn’t kill each other. Holy shit. The sign of relief you let you when it didn’t happen. Doesn’t matter which clan you’re apart of, you did not want to be in the middle of that.

You three got into some trouble as kids and as adults. Different kinds of trouble, though. Kids being kids and pulling pranks, running around in villages and knocking people over. Trouble as adults being… you and Madara set a market place on fire. Completely on accident. 100%. No- no other reason.

You and Hashirama can’t do math well. It’s very hard and Tobirama is the one to help out most of the time.

You and Madara have definitely set other things on fire. When his father was being incredibly horrible, you and him would set his bed on fire so he’d have to sleep on the ground.

You have definitely punched their dads in the face at least…twice. You never apologized for it and you never will.

When the Uzumaki priestess came around, Madara and Hashirama began to drift apart. They both wanted what was best for their clans but the Uchiha had it rigged against them from the start and the Senju bloodline was dwindling. That’s a lot of responsibility.

It was your death that sent them careening apart. You spent more time with Hashirama and saw his struggles more often and because of this, Madara blamed Hashirama for your death. Seeing as you spent so much time together.

We all know how this story ends.

rain of blood - another one where its vibes, but specifically post chapter 20. i dont want to spoil what happens but a BIG thing happens for the mcs character development and their view on murder. more like post chapter 25 because i have a few filler chapters planned.

DEATHBODY - this ones a song that makes me think of the mc, specifically surrounding their obsession with dying and being killed that gets kind of worse after an incident sometimes after chapter 25. i have it planned out but not written LOL oops. some lyrics i especially like are “icicles of a medial at unease, please just pull me together and repair me. old thoughts floating above a new horizon. something i’ll never doubt; i know im rotten.” and “all this time, i felt that my time would arrive. that it can’t last forever; i’ve been decaying. moldy scaffolding, ritual strangling. no matter what i try, i seem to stay alive.”

alpha desperation march - this one is definitely early kaon and was added to the playlist when i was writing the early chapters! specifically the lyrics “im coming in. try and stop me. push furniture in front the door. it only gives me something to push against.” and “see im perfectly aware. of where our love stands. but the plain fact is that you owe me eight grand.” make me think of him. especially push furniture in front of the door one because hes always pushing and pushing, whether it be boundaries or literal doors. theres no stopping him when theres something he wants.

hello, i love you - OKAY THIS ONES FUNNY. while this would usually be considered a kaon song because of the obsessive and sugary sweet lyrics and the general i will literally never leave you alone ever-ness of it, i associate it more with vos for reasons unknown. vos, at specifically, his most down bad. he has enough control over himself to not act like this but he is just as stubborn as kaon and is more likely to lock you in a room with him until you talk to him if he really wants your attention. whereas kaon would probably go sulk somewhere. vos is pushy and very intense.

fruiting bodies - another mc song! more specifically a post chapter 20 mc song. theres a lot of imagery with a seed being planted and its roots filling them from the inside out. which is kind of fungal.

run rabbit run - VOS SONG. just a straight up vos song, it reminds me a lot of him. there are a lot of things that make me think of vos, foxes being one of them. is it a little worrying a fox betraying and hunting a rabbit is a vos song? maybe. dont worry about it too much. if he hunts the mc i can promise theyre both a little too into it LMFAO

call me little sunshine - okay so this is a kaon AND vos song. little sunshine is supposed to be lucifer because lucifer means light bringer. basically you will never be alone because you have the two most down bad murderers obsessed with you who will come to your every beck and call (within reason) amen

bridezilla - this ones a mc song and their weird little view on what a wedding with kaon and vos would be like. theyre just as absolutely odd as those two. casey would literally black out if he went to their wedding and they tongue kissed the priest. shelby would record it.

saccharine- another vos song. he doesnt want to get so obsessed with the mc but he absolutely does. the similarities between the mc and vos have been touched upon from kaons early pov chapter, but vos sees them as a weaker version of himself. he doesnt want to hurt them (too badly), which is new for him because most people he meets he cant wait to tear them apart. there are a few exceptions to that rule, and the fact a sweet little human is one of them confounds him.

against pollution - a chapter 20 mc song thats all i will say

west country dream - another early chapters kaon song. it was added to the playlist when i first started writing and my qpp read the first few chapter and said. this song makes me think of them. i agreed and the rest is history! onto the playlist it went

Favorite author: It's a tie between J.R.R. Tolkien, Paul Scott, and Dorothy Dunnett. They are my holy trinity ♡

A popular book I've never read and never intend to read: Hm, probably one of the YA ones floating around, with the courts and roses in the titles? Or the book with Gideon and Harrow. Those just don't appeal to me, particularly in terms of writing style ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (idk specifics, sorry y'all, I don't really keep up with literature past like. mid-ish 20th c, and even that's super late for me. It's 18th/19th c. gothic all the way for me XD)

A popular book I thought was just meh: Mmm, again, I don't really know what's popular tbh despite working in a library lmao; if it doesn't concern The Hyperfixations, it literally does not register in my brain XD. So probably some assigned reading in school, like Catcher in the Rye or The Great Gastby. I was an extremely unimpressed teen/young adult with most of the 20th c. American literature we were given to read.

Longest book I own: Of the ones in my apartment at the moment, just doing a quick visual scan, it looks like it's The Dictionary of Mythology; though tbh, I suspect my BHS probably has significantly more pages, despite it looking so tiny in comparison. But I'm too lazy to actually go look XD

Longest series I own all the books to: Depends on what we mean by "series." If it's strictly linear plot, then I think it's The Lymond Chronicles, by Dorothy Dunnett. If it's just same universe/same characters, it's definitely Agatha Christie's novels. If we're including comics as part of books? It's Lucky Luke, sitting at 82 issues yes I have all of them XD

Prettiest book I own: A New Treasury of Poetry, it has a beautiful cover and includes really lovely plates interspersed throughout the collection.

A book or series I wish more people knew about: Ahaha, none! I used to have one series, but then; well. Let's just say that, while I am firmly against gatekeeping, I can't help but notice that popularity sometimes does spoil some things ^^;

Book I'm reading now: Re-reading The Silmarillion, and making my way through History of Middle-Earth and Nature of Middle-Earth.

Book that's been on my TBR list for a while but I still haven't got around to it: The recently published Fall of Numenor is next in line for me to read.

Do you have any books in a language other than English: Yup, plenty in Greek, some in Spanish, and a handful in biblical Hebrew.

And lastly, paperback, hardcover or ebook? Oh, paperback for sure. I can't stand ebooks for my own personal use -- it's a great concept and I love the accessibility it provides, but it's just not for me; unless I'm reading fanfic, I require a physical item in my hands in order to be happy. Hardcovers are gorgeous, but I primarily read lying down on my back and they are very cumbersome in that respect. Paperback is cheaper, lighter, and there's far less guilt attached if you're a messy reader like me (pen/pencil notes, folded pages, reading in the bathtub/on the beach/while eating lunch or dinner, art/craft projects involving glue and paint everywhere in the apartment, keeping tons of plants on the bookshelves, etc.).

We usually talk about Tony not being fond of animals but... then there's Gerald and the chickens and god knows what else we see in Endgame. So I think that actually Tony would be the kind of person that would be like "I don't like animals, we're not getting a cat" and then you get a cat and now he and the cat are besties.

And one day he just shows up with his alpaca Gerald. And you're like "what is that? I send you to the farmer's market just for some apples and pumpkins, what the heck?". And he's like "uh... his name is Gerald. He was horribly abused and needs a loving home and look, he's so sweet 🥺🥺🥺 I couldn't leave him there, honey 🥺🥺🥺"

And now everytime you send Tony outside to weed your plants you catch him and Gerald munching on some veggies or fruits from the plants you have around the house 😌 we even wakes up early to go feed the chickens (and he's named some of them and everything). He's built like a dozen bird houses and loves watching them birdies. And once he showed up with a kitten inside his pocket and came in pulling it out of his pocket like "LOOK WHAT I FOUND!!! It's stinky and has fleas tho, we gotta clean him up 😬 can we name him Kenobi?"

And again, it’s not necessarily that he hates animals, he’s just unsure of them and nervous around most of them. But he does have a heart! And definitely a different outlook on all aspects of life in general, so that would play a part. Plus, it gives him something to do, and maybe somehow its more meaningful even than what he did?

And he’ll be so happy when like, the plants he watered and stuff actually live because back when he was much busier he tried to have plants and just couldn’t seem to keep them alive bc he would always forget to water them probably 🥺

all i want to think about is this apartment!! it's becoming maladaptve daydreaming the way it's distracting me from my papers lol (though tbh with the way my focus level works the sun going down just absolutely nerfs my ability to be productive, which in other cirumstances is fine but for finals season kinda sucks).

but anyway this APARTMENT I cannot begin to describe the relief that washes over me when I think about having my own place where I am only managing my own mess, my own germs, my own schedule; to be free to sing again, to not have to apologize when someone comes over because it's impossible to get the place to stay presentable for more than a few hours at a time.

to have a working FREEZER my god I'm going to be able to eat normally - cook with an OVEN, not have to store my food around rotting leftovers that I'm too stubborn to throw out because i've been doing it for months, to have a pantry that isn't half forgotten about with spices thrown about everywhere; i'm trying not to let myself start thinking that anything but the work I put in is going to fix me, but damn being able to feel confident about the space where my food is prepared would be an amazing start, wouldn't it?

i've also started extrapolating this out to different areas - wow without having to spend like a solid hour a day cleaning up after someone else thanks to my new dishwasher, or being able to do laundry and not have to orient my day around that in fear of inconveniencing someone, frees up so much time for me to dedicate to other avenues of myself! i'm sometimes at a loss with what to do with free time at nick's because there is nothing that needs attending to; being in his space (by virtue of both who he is as a person and also the luxuries of dishwasher + in unit laundry) is not an action but a state. this feels worth the cost to me; and if it can give me a better jumping off point at which to restore my health, that's worth literally my entire life savings let alone this increased rent payment.

i'm going to try to be practical tomorrow; I will take measurements and test out all the things that need testing and be realistic if there is a problem. I will also state my boundary with February being the earliest I an move in; it seems like this place has been open since November with no interest so I'd like to think I have some wiggle room, but also I am so immensely overjoyed thinking about living here that I'm not sure I would even be willing to wait until March. a part of me is piping up and going 'and think, if it works you won't need to take your SSRIs' which I guess, in the most general sense, if true; if moving in here gives you the mental space to dedicate yourself to the process of getting better, that will in fact render the prescription null. but I can't let it become more causal than that.

this got sad and it was supposed to be exciting. and i am still very much excited, but do need to make sure i am not being manic about this or placing too much faith in something that will absolutely not save me.

but why not indulge? imagine having everything you own stored neatly away in this house, available for you to access and not secured away to prevent contamination. imagine having caro over for baking and movie nights with your projector and painting on the kitchen table and spa night. imagine having albright over for horror movies and dinner! imagine nick being able to sleep over at yours for once (not that I actually even want that that often, but to have the option is nice). imagine having all your pagan activities finally an option for you as you will have genuine solitude. imagine sleepovers with nestor in a normal sized bed again lol. imagine even hosting someone to stay over, like xiu or natalie! imagine decorating exactly how I want to, keeping my plants healthy and luscious. imagine taking care of your beauty in that luxurious bathroom that doesn't have cracks in the ceiling and walls. to slip back into an unhealthy pattern of thinking, imagine how impressed everyone will be when they come over and see how beautifully you live. imagine how they'll understand why you've been so reclusive and how much happier you are now. imagine the superiority you'll get to feel when it really hasn't been your doing this whole time.
