Glitch

Glitch is about an affair (someone else's playground) with an ex (sweat you out). It references a blood moon & a “2190 day love lock out”. Exile means to be barred or locked out. To me, “Exile” starts at the 2015 BBMAs. 2186 days later is the 2021 Brit’s, which they attended 8 weeks after speaking at the Grammys. That moon cycle had a blood moon. (2021 timeline)

It is yet to be a surprise song and Taylor has said little about it. Taylornation used it in promos for 1989 TV and Wildest Dreams TV during Red TV. It has a number of Haylor references. It has shares a Spotify Wildest Dreams visual.

This verse establishes that Taylor and this muse have a history, but are being 'just friends'. Although they don't live in the same part of town, Taylor mentions they see each other based on mood, situationship and intoxication. This sounds like casual hookups. Taylor and Harry have songs about 'just friendship' in:

In the first verse Taylor told how they are friends who contact each other occasionally, however there is a glitch and she's attached. This verse has Haylor references:

"I'm not even sorry" was the title Taylor joked about giving to Style to Rolling Stone “We should have just called it ‘I’m Not Even Sorry."

Finally blood moon lit. I think this interaction occurred under a blood moon. There’s only a handful of dates that could be, but I think it is May 25 2021. (Sorry blood moon album drop truthers, yes I know about red)

Taylor had intended to get over wanting her muse by sleeping with them but she still wants him

The someone else’s playground sounds as if Taylor and the muse are not single, which they weren’t. This is 2 months after the 2021 Grammys

“Love lockout” is similar to “Exile”/woman where Taylor sang about the 2015 BBMAs as the start of the exile/love lockout. 2186 days later was the 2021 Brits awards. They had started writing about each other. (Midnights was started after the Grammys, Harry’s house was completed 3 months later).

And in bejeweled MV she told us Exile was ending (MV was a year after the 21 Brit’s)

A brief interruption, a slight malfunction I'd go back to wanting dudes who give nothing I thought we had no chance And that's romance, let's dance

Taylor tells herself it’s a brief moment, she tells herself to go back to her BF who gives her nothing.

To me the brief interruption / slight malfunction could refer to the brief times they have indicated they saw each other (I did something bad/high infidelity and cruel summer/falling, these didn’t last.)

It ends on a note of temptation. she explores her disbelief that this muse wants her more in Snow on the Beach.

She lets herself enjoy the moment and dances, which is a dangerous thing for the same reasons in Cowboy Like Me

December 2020

Danny stared at the large glass building in front of him debating whether to enter or wait around for someone he vaguely knew to walk in with.

Like an answered prayer he heard a voice call out through the cold December air. “Mate, what are you doing out here still? It’s fucking freezing”.

Turning his attention to the now open door he saw his team mate for the next 2 years was standing in front of him.

Danny knew he was lucky to have Lando as a team mate. Not only was he a good driver, one of the best of the younger generation he’d seen in fact, but he was also immensely easy to get along with. He knew all he had to do was get the younger driver laughing and they’d be fast friends, although he doubted they’d be as close as he and Carlos were.

He walked towards Lando, shrugging his shoulders and flashing his signature smile at the Brit. He wasn’t going to admit he found himself nervous at the prospect of meeting all of his new team at such a major event.

Tonight was the Mclaren annual Christmas gala. All of the staff were gathered at MTC for food, drinks and socialsing. Everyone was decked out in their finest clothes and ready to spend the night drinking expensive champagne and toasting to an exciting new year in 2021 with their new driver lineup and promising new car.

Lando led Danny inside the building, the younger of the two immediately pointing out who everyone was and filling him in on who he should and shouldn’t bother speaking to tonight.

“That’s Linda from HR, you’ll want to avoid her, she can get a bit touchy feely once she’s had a drink or two, and over there by the bar is most of the engineers, come on, I’ll introduce you to them.”

The pair headed for the bar, stopping every few steps for the obligatory handshake and smile at the staff eager to meet the Aussie.

Danny breathed a sigh of relief as Lando pushed a drink into his hand, not really caring what it was he took a large gulp and turned himself to the curious eyes of his new engineer team.

After a lot of introductions, bantering back and forth and numerous shots bought for him by the team he started to feel more at ease.

He found himself thrown into conversation with Lando and one of the engineers, Adam, who he had learned quickly was one of Lando’s friends on the team. The pair were discussing how they needed to meet up for a game of Top Golf before the new season started.

“How’s Matilda doing with her new job by the way? I know you said she was super busy, I’m surprised you didn’t bring her along with you” Lando asked his friend.

Adam chuckled, clearly Lando didn’t know Matilda all that well. This event would be her worst nightmare, too many people, too much noise.

“Yeah good mate, she’s smashing it actually, got loads of clients and making a name for herself, I’m so fucking proud of her. But nah she’s not here, not really her scene, I reckon I might be able to convince her to pick me up later though so I don’t have to pay for an Uber”.

Adam and Lando laughed, nodding their heads in agreement at the ridiculous prince an Uber from Woking to London would cost.

“Is that your girlfriend? Matilda?” Danny asked curiously. The question earned a laugh from the Brits in response.

“He wishes” Lando exclaimed as Adam shook his head at the comment “nah mate, she’s my best friend, been that way since we were kids.”

“She’s proper fit though Danny. Adam get your phone out and show him before I do” Lando slurred towards the Aussie, his eyes lighting up as he quipped at his friend.

Adam’s hand came out quickly, jokingly pushing his friend in response to the comment.

“She actually thinks Danny is pretty hot if I’m honest, so you’ve got some competition Lando” Adam bantered back at him.

Danny felt his face flush, feeling immediately grateful for the low lighting covering the light blush gracing the top of his cheeks. He should have been used to this by now. He was no stranger to females finding him attractive, and some not being shy about it, but it didn’t make it any less flattering when it did happen.

Lando pulled his phone out of his blazer pocket and opened up Instagram, quickly finding the profile he was looking for. Danny’s eyes adjusted as he looked at the screen in front of him.

Lando was right, she was fit. More than that, she was beautiful. He wasn’t sure if he’d ever actually seen anyone that pretty before. Her beauty felt classic, understated. It was when he heard Lando snort he realised he’d been staring for a little too long at the phone screen before him. He quickly averted his eyes, making a mental note of the username on the screen.

“Yeah she’s pretty” he spoke the words slowly, attempting to downplay how struck he had been by this girl, not wanting to annoy her best friend, his new engineer.

Luckily Adam was quite used to his male friends reminding him of how gorgeous his best friend was. In all honesty he found Danny’s attraction to his best friend amusing, knowing that if when he got home he told her of it, she’d never believe him in a million years.

Adam sensed the Aussie’s nervousness and decided to change the subject.

“Shots anyone?”

Mattie really didn’t mind living with Adam. The pair had lived together from the minute they’d finished college and gone off to university together, opting to share a flat off campus instead of paying for student accommodation.

Once they had finished higher education they once again made the decision to move to the outskirts of London together. Neither wishing to attempt to afford London rent on their own.

She didn’t care that he was sometimes messy. She didn’t moan when he sometimes left the toilet seat up. She barely even noticed when he would neglect to hoover the floor properly when he offered to tidy up the flat.

She did, however, care when he came home at 3AM drunk as hell making as much noise as a bull in a china shop. This was the exact scenario she found herself in.

She heard the front door swing open and slam against the radiator a quiet “fuck” echoing out into the quiet flat as he realised how noisy he had been.

She heard him enter the kitchen and start banging various different pans around, that had once been neatly stacked in the drawer below the stove. She then heard the fridge door swing open and hushed laughter as the sounds of items hitting the tiled floor echoed round the flat.

Mattie waited patiently through 10 minutes of banging and crashing for the noise to stop. She soon realised it would not be ending any time soon. With a groan she forced herself out of bed and slid her feet into the slippers that were neatly placed by her dresser.

Swinging the door open she found herself stomping down the hallway and into the open plan kitchen and living room.

“Adam, what the actual fuck are you doing? It’s 3AM and I have a meeting in 5 hours! You promised you’d be quiet when you came home! You’re such a-” the girl stopped dead in her tracks.

Why the fuck was Daniel Ricciardo standing in her living room smiling at her?

“Hi there, I’m Danny” the Aussie said with a grin on his face, his hand extending out towards her to shake.

Danny took this moment to get a good look at the girl who’s picture had been running around in his mind for the last 6 hours.

There she stood, long brown hair clumsily pulled up into a bun on top of her head, an oversized sweater on her body and short cycling shorts barely covering her legs, a pair of fuzzy slippers on her feet. Not an inch of any makeup on her face, just a frown which was quickly turning into a look of confusion the longer she stared at him.

“Yep” he thought “definitely pretty”.

Dumbstruck, Mattie extended her hand towards the man in front of her. Was she dreaming? She wasn’t sure. The moment their hands touched Mattie knew this was not a dream.

His large warm hand engulfed her much smaller, colder one. His firm grip sent shockwaves up her arm and straight to her heart. She felt as if she had been set on fire. Pulling back her hand quickly she tucked her hands into the pouch of her sweater.

“I’m Mattie, sorry for shouting, that was really rude of me, I just-” the girl rambled as she searched for the right words to make the situation any less embarrassing.

“Oh no, no, don’t apologise. Adam didn’t mention he had a roommate, otherwise I would have offered we go back to mine instead of his. We got a cab home together from the gala and we fancied a late night snack, didn’t mean to be so loud and wake you up. I’m really sorry, I feel awful” the Aussie replied.

“It’s ok, not your fault, it’s typical Adam, he goes a bit dumb once he’s had a couple drinks… speaking of, where is he?” Mattie questioned, her eyes darting around the room looking for her friend.

“He was about to start making a sandwich, and I won’t lie, I think he heard you coming and ran to hide in his bedroom… look I’ll head out, I don’t want to cause any more of an issue and I feel bad for waking you up” Danny stated looking round the room for his jacket and shoes that had been clumsily discarded once they’d entered the flat.

“Don’t be silly, it’s so late, or early, whatever you wanna call it. You can crash on the sofa if you like? It’s not exactly the 5 star you might be used to, but it’s comfy enough” the girl offered, grabbing some of the pillows and blankets she had around the room for when she needed to curl up and get comfy. She placed them on the sofa beside them, gesturing for him to make himself at home.

“Only if you’re sure babe, I don’t want to make you feel uncomfortable”. The word slipped off his tongue before he could stop himself. Internally cursing himself he hoped she didn’t notice. A beat of silence passed around the room. Judging from the blush now scattered across her cheeks, she definitely did.

“Oh urm, yeah, of course it’s fine, anyway, I need to get to sleep. If you see Adam tell him he owes me a muffin from the bakery across the street when he wakes up from his drunken stupor” Mattie joked, growing nervous at the nickname the man before her had used so easily.

Mattie gave a parting wave and headed back to the sanctuary of her bedroom. Once the door had closed she released the breath she felt she had been holding for the last few minutes.

Crawling back into bed she felt the anxiety creep in. Mentally replaying the interaction she had just had with Danny in her head over and over again.

She was going to kill Adam in the morning.

summary: in which H and Y/n met for the first time since the break up.

A/n: Y/n is mean in this one, but I swear, I tuned down from what originally was supposed to be. I know a few of you guys asked me to tag you, but in the spirit of fairness, I would ask who want to be tagged to send me a Ask, is easier for me to see you there than in the comments. As some of you may know, I already choose Y/n’s New Man, and he’ll already show up in the next Extra. Some of you asked if there is a chance os reconciliation, the answer is: I don’t think so, but… read and tell me what you think.

2021, April 08.

She had chosen a light pink Zimmerman oversized dress from the 2020 collection, it had been a gift from Gemma and Anne for her birthday that year, it made her look soft and accentuated her belly with grace, she paired it with white Gucci Mule Princetown shoes, and a straw bag 'a la' Jane Birkin. Her hair was loose and brushed in beach waves. Rings covering her delicate fingers, and nails are painted a delicate shade of pink, and a large sunglasses by Dolce and Gabbana protecting her eyes.

Y/n looked very soft and motherly.

She had agreed to meet Harry at Full Stop Management's office in early April, even though Jeff told Lia that lawyers weren't needed, still, the manager knew better than to take his word for it, the woman, who had managed Y/n's career for the past ten years, categorically stated that Jeff and Harry would have a full team in the room, publicist, lawyers, the whole circus, it was after much insistence that the singer agreed to Camilla's presence at the meeting. Now Camilla might look harmless in her ultra-feminine clothes and flashy Louboutin heels, but the woman was a shark, not just any kind, in court she was reputed to be a cannibal, a shark that devours other sharks.

Y/n really hoped there was a team waiting for them, she didn't want to be seen as the person who was going for the attack. So far all her actions have been carefully planned to not be seen as aggressive.

The singer was accompanied by her manager, her personal assistant, and Niall —who had been staying at her house since she returned to LA, Zayn and Gigi had also been seen in town with their friend, a rare sighting in the case of the Bradford bad boy—, two bodyguards went together to make the security of the two Brits in case of the presence of paparazzi and fans.

It's safe to say that Y/n was surrounding herself with friends with all the publicity that now surrounded her breakup.

Whenever the singer was seen in public, she was accompanied by friends, and loyal friends at that, who quickly surrounded her to protect her from the paparazzi lens and the harassment of fans. Kendall had shielded her friend with her coat and glared at the paparazzi when the two were photographed in Santa Monica; Justin had asked for respect and for them to back off as he guided Y/n to the car with Hailey just behind on the exit from Nobu; Dakota wasn't afraid to show the middle finger when the paparazzi screamed for them as they left a little café in Malibu; hidden between Florence Welch and Mark being led away from the crowd, while Lady Gaga chatted with fans; she was snapped by fans shopping for children's items with Taylor Swift and Blake Lively in a nice little boutique in Manhattan in late March; and she was caught casually strolling through the Farmers Market in Brooklyn accompanied by actors Pedro Pascal and Oscar Issac, with Elvira and the couple's two children a few days later.

Her friends were showing support both publicly and privately.

People she hadn't been close with before, because of Harry's insecurity, had gotten bigger roles in her life. She was finally allowing herself to have male friends who weren't mutual friends.

The Lincoln Navigator pulled up in front of the building, quickly being surrounded by paparazzi and fans, easily a crowd of a hundred people. Y/n looked at Niall as he swore.

The security guards got out of the car first, and only when they managed to clear some space between the paparazzi did the Irishman open the door, getting out first and helping his friend out. The cameras were on them the second her feet touched the ground.

They clearly had been tipped that there would be a meeting that day.

Y/n held her head high, eyes hidden by dark shades while walking behind her longtime friend, hand gripping the crook of his elbow. Niall led the way, leading the group of women into the building.

As the paparazzi took pictures they didn't throw too many invasive questions at her. There were also fans around, Y/n noticed, she smiled faintly and waved at some who were shouting her name in support and even accepted the flowers they offered her. In the court of public opinion Y/n was the victim, this was crystal clear, a young woman who had loved a men too much and had been cheated on and left for a new lover, a modern more Hollywood and glamorous version of what Lady Di had been.

The singer had gained five million and a half new followers on Instagram since the Grammys, and a few thousand more after her interview with Hailey.

“Jeff must be shitting bricks,” Lia smiled a little when they were safely in the lobby. “His golden boy is not so golden anymore.”

The group found Camilla already waiting in the lobby, the lawyer greeted everyone cordially, and Y/n affectionately. They headed for the elevator, the way from the ground floor to the office floor taking place in silence. When the door slid open an assistant, whom Y/n recognized by sight, but couldn't remember the name, was waiting for them, the girl smiled at them, greeted them politely and guided them to the conference room.

For the first time since December, Harry and Y/n were in the same room. His emerald eyes following her as she moved around the room.

Her ex was sitting between Jeffrey and an older man in a suit. His side of the table was filled with older men in suits, and a stern-looking woman that Y/n recognized as Karen, leader of the PR team.

"I thought we weren't going to involve lawyers, Jeff." Lia said in a sarcastic tone as she greeted the man.

At least Jeffrey had the decency to blush.

"Y/n...How are you?" The singer looked at Harry, his hoarse voice sounded almost breathless.

He looked fine, at least physically, definitely not dressed for an important meeting, his hair was cut short in a retro haircut—was probably already filming My Policeman—, and he looked tired, with bag under his eyes, she could see the guilty and sadness in his eyes. Good.

Bella had sent her the tabloid piece reporting Harry and Olivia's breakup, with pictures of the woman moving out of his rented house and all, the older woman looked miserable and sloppy —and Y/n would deny it until the end, because you never push another woman down to build yourself up, but she felt a little bit of satisfaction reading the comments about how Olivia was a downgrade compared to ‘Goddess’ looking Y/n, those are probably left by her fans, and how he had probably just settled for Olivia after the breakup—.

The young woman sat in the chair Niall pulled out for her, her hands protectively over her stomach, in an involuntary gesture.

“I am doing better now.” It was the only answer she gave, and it was already more than he deserved from her.

Harry leaned slightly across the table. "Can we please talk?" He looked at the people around them. "In private." His people seemed ready to get up and leave the room as soon as he gave the cue, but the four people accompanying Y/n looked at her, making it clear that they wouldn't move without her saying something.

Y/n sighed, taking the sunglasses off her face and laying them on the table, she looked at the man she once loved more than life itself with cold eyes. To Harry, she looked more goddess than woman, and he swallowed hard, deeply regretting all the bad choices he'd made that had led to him losing the love of his existence.

"The time for private conversations is over Harry." The woman had her eyes fixed on her ex-fiancé. "Now we're here to discuss how to go forward and move on, and leave all that happened where it belongs, in the past." They both knew she meant not just the suffering and pain he had caused her.

She meant him, and the years they'd spent together. The good and the bad. He was now only a piece of her past. He had no place in the next Act of the show that was her life. If before he had been one of the protagonists of her life story, now he had been relegated to a minor supporting character.

"I miss you, Love, everyday and every hour, I know…" There was desperation in his voice, Y/n could hear it clearly, but she came to the shocking conclusion that she didn't care.

"You have no right to miss me." She interrupted him without mercy. "That was your choice Harry, you chose this, you knew what your decisions would cause, you knew the pain you would inflict on me, and you did it anyway."

He looked at her stunned, he got so used to his sweet Y/n that he forgot she had a bite in her.

"Babe, it was a huge mistake, we could..." He tried, more desperate than ever, he wasn’t used to the coldness in her eyes being directed at him.

"We could," she agreed, some aggressiveness in her eyes, "We could have gotten over what you did, we could, I loved you enough to try, but you broke up with me and started dating her like I was nothing in your life, as if the eight years we spent together didn't matter, as if we weren't planning a wedding." The woman was looking down at him, like a queen to a dirt peasant. "So when you miss me, remember, when you had me I wasn't good enough."

Niall squeezed his friend's hand on the table in support.

Everyone around them stayed in silence, just watching the heated interaction between the former couple. It was almost pitiful too watch.

At this point there was nothing Harry could say to make her forgive him. After what he'd put her through, after how he'd made her feel… She didn't even want to talk to him, there was nothing he could say to make all his mistakes go away.

Lia cleared her throat, looking from her client to her ex cautiously.

"Okay…We are here to resolve the division of jointly acquired assets, I think it's best if we stick with that for now." Lia interrupted before either Harry or Y/n could say something else.

Jeff nodded, he's never been much for confrontations, he looked at Harry once more, the younger man looked absolutely miserable with his hand buried in his hair, but nodded in agreement to move on, his emerald eyes never leaving the woman he had shared his life with for the past eight years. Harry's manager took the folder offered by one of the lawyers.

He looked at the client one last time before his eyes focused on Y/n's face. He'd almost forgotten how gorgeous Harry's ex-fiancee was in the months since he'd last seen her. The singer had a kind of neutralizing beauty, and the pregnancy glow only seemed to accentuate it more.

"Harry has decided to give up his share of joint estate in favor of Y/n." Jeff said looking at his client's ex-fiancée, he opened a leather folder he had in front of him, reading the summary. "The £15 million Hampstead mansion in London, the $5 million Tribecca apartment in NYC, the Lake Como Villa, and the $9 million Sunset house in Los Angeles, other minor properties are also listed in the folder." The manager exhibited the portfolio with the properties and documentation already draw in the woman’s name.

Y/n scoffed, it wasn't like she needed it, her bank account was bigger than his, but Harry was so predictable in his guilt, she knew this was him trying to minimize her anger, to buy her forgiveness, letting her keep the houses she had carefully made into homes for them during the last few years. As if in eight years he hadn't known her well enough to know she didn't care for material things.

But she knew, it was also about the babies, even if they haven’t gone there yet.

Jeff slides the folder into Lia’s direction.

"You just need to sign." The lawyer sitting next to Harry said offering her a pen.

Lia passed the folder for Camilla to read.

Y/n looked at Harry, she was still wearing her mask of coldness. "Are you sure this is what you want?"

"It's the least I can do," He said with a barely perceptible smile, "I know how much you love these houses, and how much you've put into making them a home, it wouldn't be right..."

It wouldn't feel right for him to continue living in them, or to take someone to live with him. That was a line he never crossed, he never tried to take Olivia to one of the houses he had acquired with Y/n.

"A house is just a building Harry, that was never what I really cared about." Y/n said, but signed the papers when Camilla gave her the OK, the singer took the pen and signed the sheets on the marked dotted lines.

"It's not like I'll be able to live in any of them now, anyway, too many memories..."

"Sell it, have it demolished, set it on fire, they're yours to do with what you want," the man said running a hand through his hair in despair. "This is me trying, Y/n/n, but I don't know what to do to get your forgiveness, what gesture, what to say..."

Y/n glanced in Camilla's direction briefly, and the lawyer simply picked up the folder she had brought with her and pushed it towards Harry's lawyer.

The pregnant woman watched the lawyer read the document with a stoic expression, looking from Camilla to Y/n from moment to moment, the man wiped the sweat from his forehead before leaning towards Harry and Jeff, and explaining in a whisper what the document was about.

“Y/n…” Harry stared at her with questioning eyes, hurt written all over his face.

"That's it H, that's the way to my forgiveness, it won't happen now, but eventually..." She shrugged and said in an emotionless tone, looking at him with a bored expression.

"This is basically me giving up my unborn children." Harry said swinging the folder over the table.

"That's you giving me control." Y/n said calmly. "That's you respecting my choices and decisions, this is you trusting me like I always used to trust you."

“Are you this bitter and heartless?”

“Oh, you didn't go there...” She said with a bitter laugh, shaking her head and briefly looking at the table before looking up and facing Harry. "I had a heart, it was kind, soft, big, and trusted blindly, but I gave it to the wrong person, and that person was careless with it, and now I have a broken heart." Every word she uttered was like an insult to the man in front of her. "This, right here, is the result of your carelessness, I used to think you were the best man among men, now I realize that you're not that bloody great." The calm with which she spoke, made it even worse. "I'd rather be heartless than have my heart broken by someone who doesn’t deserve it."

Silence hung over the conference room until it was interrupted by one of Harry's lawyers.

"We can fight for custody in court..."

Y/n turned his head towards the lawyer like a snake ready to attack.

"You do it, I dare you." The pregnant woman smiled predatorily. "I'm not someone that can be threatened, or put into a corner, I have the financial means to drag out a legal battle for years, and I want to see you find a judge here or in England who would take away custody of my children in Harry’s favor." She turned to Jeff. "And in the meantime, H is going to be convicted in the court of public opinion, his career is going to suffer, because if you guys try to come against me, this was just the beginning, the EP, the interview... I'll do worse, you never saw me being mean, I'm going to turn it into an album, I'm going to Oprah, I'm going to drag his and her name through the proverbial mud."

She never looked more like the lioness Louis joked she was than at that moment.

It was already an unspoken rule around haute couture dress-rooms: if designers wanted to see their pieces showcased by Y/n and her friends, Olivia was persona non grata. It wasn't something Y/n started, but Kendall and Bella were petty enough in her name.

"I don't want you in my life, it still hurts to look at your face." The singer sighed and said more calmly, this time looking at Harry. "And I can't say that I'll forgive you, or that one day I'll be ok with co-parenting with you, but I have no intention of banning Anne and Gemma's access to the twins, and that's the best I can offer right now."

Harry sighed in agreement with a sad smile, he had tears in his eyes and ran his hands over his face before picking up the pen from the table and pulling the papers towards him.

He stared at the dotted line for a few minutes before scribbling his signature.

taylor makes all these moves look so easy (“i play them like a violin and i make it look oh so easy” indeed) that it makes you think that you can do them and is sooo inspiring. like i know this move to go directly to amc and rejecting all streaming must have gained her respect but also made some enemies and no way it was easy or stress-free, but she never ever stops from taking chances. and i love that she usually wins and the company/the other person has to come to her.

it just makes me think back on all the speeches she’s given recently - the brits speech 2021, the woman of the decade speech 2019, the iheartradio awards speech 2023, her nyc commencement speech, or even going back to grammys 2016 - like the message of keep trying even if you fail, get back up, and if you make people mad that means you’re doing something right and different. like these are not just empty words but things she actually believes. her perseverance and resilience are just mind-boggling.

i can’t explain it but there are two categories of taylor’s makeup looks: soft (EMAs, 2021 Grammys, 2021 brits, eras premiere) and cunty (2022 & 2023 VMAs, tiff, golden globes, 2023 grammys, renaissance premiere, 2022 AMAs). i don’t know what separates the two but there’s a clear distinction.

29 January - Harry shoots the watermelon sugar MV in Malibu. The director later says “The production process was fast! We shot in a location in Malibu. It was a private beach at this amazing house. Harry actually owns a watermelon farm in a secret location that we can’t disclose. So the day before the shoot we went with our whole crew, make-up artists, set decorators, focus pullers you name it! Masterpost on taylor and olivia's relationship (but taylor is at fault)

it's an ugly theory for taylor.. so if you can't handle criticism for her please don't read!

I'd like to start by saying I'm not an olivia stan, I've been a taylor stan for 10 years but this is the theory I found to be logical.

Firstly , let's look at this blind item posted on may 22/2023 because it's the spark for this theory

AA is taylor, AB is Matty healy, AC is olivia.

AD could be beyonce or Ariana but it is irrelevant

AE is deja vu and AF is hayley william

AG is good 4 u

So anyways now that we have layed the ground for the theory let's discuss

From olivia's dawn of time to April 2021:

Olivia has always talked over and over how she's the biggest swiftie on earth.. and in January 2021 taylor commented the famous "I say that's my baby and I'm really proud" and she was also sending Olivia gifts.

And then Fearless TV is announced, and the also famous reel of Olivia and Conan on White Horse TV

Also note that taylor sent olivia the Red ring and olivia talked about it which was in march 2021

So far everyone is everyone's bestie right and they're both in each other's business?

And it continues, and they meet in 11 May 2021 in the BRITs awards where they photographed together and it's all very cute

Now before we move on to the sour release let's talk about olivia for a little:

She was just 18 at the time, she was resembling to taylor's style in many ways:

She wrote about her personal life and had drama around her with her ex and how he cheated

She wrote all her songs and her style is close to Taylor which is fast songwriting and just gets the idea and write about it.

BUT also she differed from Taylor in the following and I'm here talking about late taylor pop album Lover because folklore isn't in the same category:

She made her album very short which helped in the streams

She chose the best singles for her album

She got viraled on tiktok with most of her tracks

Now keep in mind that lover technically flopped (IN TAYLOR'S EYES ONLY), and while folklore has just won AOTY, fearless TV also wasn't that huge of a success (which might be okay as i don't think she thought that the rerecords would make that much of a hit) and ofc evermore also flopped in her eyes (I just know that the willow flop incident is still hunting her), and as a Taylor fan we all know how crazy she gets when her albums aren't breaking all records left and right, and how especially in the lover era she was talking about how she's never gonna get more famous, but then ofc folklore happened, and she started gaining some new fans this time and also the rerecording thing boosted her, but in her head she had about 3 out of 4 albums that weren't up to her standard.

Panic in swift city:

Sour release May 21

Sour is released, olivia is breaking every record left and right and taylor's records, and her spotlight, and her fans because everyone saw that they were friends so they were double stanning. And ofc, miss swift who wrote nothing new would start to feel threatened right? She did.

Sour dropped and taylor had "non collaborative credit" on a song, which is "1 step forward, 3 steps back" that was sampled from new year's day, now of course Olivia got approval for this her and Taylor are besties, and when the album dropped taylor had credits for this one song, and knowing taylor which is also miss "get a good lawyer" she wouldn't let Olivia not write her credits on only one song if there was another..

Now let's talk about the first thing that could be shady:

May 28 2021: evermore vinyls release

So after 1 week of sour, taylor finally drops the evermore vinyls. Like imagine if the situation has been reversed and another huge artist drops something 1 week after taylor's album release? Girl would have eaten them alive. BUT ALSO, she could have scheduled it from early. But also also, she could have postponed it for 1 week. I can't really tell but it just seem weird to release them when Olivia is your baby right?

Which btw resulted in Taylor of course dethroning Olivia the next week. Yes it is weird.

July 9th 2021

Taylor and Jack got writing credit for deja vu which was a mega successful hit, which is weird.. why now? And they say it's because "cruel summer" influenced deja vu, which if you ask me doesn't make sense if you listen to the songs, but anyways it happened suddenly?

My theory is, taylor saw how sour preformed, and how big deja vu was and of course olivia has told her that cruel summer inspired that, and probably asked her if she was okay with it, and taylor said yes. But then she changed her mind with how well sour got and wanted a piece of the pie, so maybe she threatened a lawsuit? Maybe she just said she'd unleash the angry swifties? Maybe olivia just wanted to be polite? Who knows

After that and for most of the year, they stopped mentioning each other and it was radio silence.

December 6 2021:

Grammys change their rules, which meant that taylor wouldn't be getting a grammy for sour.. which of course made taylor even more mad because we all know how much she loves getting a grammy. Now ofc red tv was released and she was getting more loved by everyone and she was everywhere. But nothing is ever enough for taylor on a famous level, or a grammy level.

April 4,2022:

Taylor and Olivia are at the Grammy, supposedly they're still friends, taylor should be supporting olivia for her album with 2 taylor influence right? no. They don't interact all night and sour wins 3 awards and does a 2009 Fearless Taylor moment, while Taylor gets 1 award which is still huge, but Taylor gets jealous of Olivia being in the spotlight for 1 year, and wining all those awards and most of all, being compared to her all the time.

Keep in mind that swifties were dragging olivia left and right and they kept saying she was benefiting off taylor and she was a fake because they claim olivia betrayed taylor for some reason, olivia was (and still) gets hate everywhere and even snake emojis. Which is something taylor could stop with a tweet/story mentioning Olivia in any good way which will result in swifties stopping acting like assholes.

After and until now, olivia never mentions taylor, only Conan Grey who is olivia's bestie and also a diehard swiftie as he used to claim said that he didn't get a chance to listen to midnights which fueled swifties.

Now there could be 3 things:

1. Taylor was really jealous and threatened by Olivia so she cut her off and took the credit out of jealousy and probably in a not nice way in july 2021.

2. Olivia wanted to separate herself from Taylor because swifties were saying she's using taylor for clout (that's the most popular narrative)

3. Olivia is the shady one and didn't want to give taylor credit (highly unlikely because she was just debuting and she's a huge fan of Taylor)

Personally i do not think olivia or her team would let her be stupid enough to start a feud with taylor, we all know how this ends. And especially when Taylor is a role model to her. So why would she fight with taylor and risk her getting angry and get endless hate from her army that holds grudges till the end of time against anyone that comes near taylor? Additionally, I think even if there was a little tension, olivia still wouldn't cut Taylor off because she's useful to everyone who's her friend as i said swifties hold grudges but they also worship anyone who's her friend. So my guess is taylor is the one who started this thing, and regarding the second possibility, maybe olivia wanted not to be in the shadow but Taylor got hurt over this.
