Late-night portrait on the way to bed between rounds of examining the notion of card-connections under the framework of interconnection in mutual aid systems. Realized part of the issue is the assumption of the square with a center piece. Tried again with two other concepts of the center (one not shown as it contained one of my personal sigils). Then what does it look like with all the direct points between them. Took a break. Watched the opening episode for season 2 of Carnival Row and the Baelin’s Route NPC Adventure before it hit me - you are diving into the issue too big, and there isn’t space to see all the ways issues interact with each other, just the direct one. It focuses the perception of the adventurer and the move around them rather than noticing that there is no central issue and that which serves it. That is a toxic Western perspective that crafts a “that which is served” and “that which serves.” So, we take it smaller and slower, strip it to 3 cards, their 3 connections, and their whole of the 3. We look instead at the notion then of a linear system and start looking holistically. There is not a past card, then present, then future. It is owning that where we are in the future affects how we reflect on the past, or step out of linear time mythologies. We look not on the seen, the unseen, and the possibilities, but instead that they weave between each other. The three of us are together in this, not three entities taking turns serving each other. I’m really appreciating this chewing time. Prioritizing questions like “what assumptions are you making when you read” (like that there is a reader and a read-for, or that I have a habit of a topic or each card having a pre-stated value). Other great pieces from class, but this is some of tonight’s chewing. #SlowHollerTarot #InSearchOfTarot #TarotSpreads #TarotContemplation #BuildingSystems #TarotStudy @insearchoftarot https://www.instagram.com/p/Coy-mJfOx91/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

At the end of 2020 I was called to write down my readings because of how accurate they proved to be. I wanted to keep track of the messages I received from Spirit, my guides and Ancestors, to give me the ability to look back and find patterns 👁
It is important as a reader, and as the querent, to have an intimate understanding of how messages received translate to events that unfold. Writing readings down has allowed me see that translation more tangibly than ever before. I can now share readings with you that gave me reassurance of an outcome, well before the situation or problem was actually solved. This is profound to me.
Even as spiritualists, we can be skeptical. In my start with divination and cards, I was leery… after all, I started this path solely for herbs, stones, and spiritual knowledge, but I soon found out that both spiritual knowledge and indigenous herbalism include divination, so here we are.
𝐼𝑛 𝑚𝑦 𝑛𝑒𝑥𝑡 𝑝𝑜𝑠𝑡, I’ll be sharing pieces of a couple readings that really touched me 📨🔮✨
In the same way you learn letters and words to communicate, tarots are a language that you learn so your intuition can communicate with yourself and others in a more fluent way.
You aren’t fluent until you know the language well enough to speak it smoothly and in different situations.
It takes time to understand your tarots at a and give the best quality readings (and also to read them without using a book. It's ok if you do it, it's perfectly normal)
Tarots are a full system so...no card exists in isolation from the others, that's why you always have to try and read every card in relation to the other cards in the spread.
An easy exercise to understand the full system is to pick your deck and choose from 6 to 12 cards that gives you positive vibes and 6/12 that gives you negative/unease vibes.
‼️ without reading their meanings ‼️
Maybe work with minor arcana for this. Then search the symbols/colors/meanings they have in common. Notice the patterns and try to understand why you picked those cards as positives/negatives. Aaaaaand REPEAT.
Then change the attributes and instead of positive/negative try something more specific like love/hate or good/bad fortune etc.
The focus here is on being present during this eclipse season. Emotions can run high, and things can feel a bit chaotic, but if you remain grounded in the moment you’re in, you might find that things go smoother for you. The reading speaks a lot about grounding during change. This card is about the ability to notice the simple beauty in the world around you, to get out of your head and rooted to the earth.
What needs to shift?
The World - Reversed
What does completion mean to you? Are you constantly chasing the finish line, or are you able to take your time and remain in the moment? This bounces off the Ten of Cups so nicely. It’s about understanding that the end isn’t what’s important. When the world shows up reversed, it’s a reminder that we’re still in the midst of a situation we’d rather be finished with. Instead of looking towards the ending, can you be right where you are and see the lessons it’s bringing you as they unfold? If we’re so worried about where we’re going, we can miss so much along the way. It's the journey that has value, not necessarily the destination.
How can I evolve?
Eight of Cups
While this card is about leaving something behind it’s also about trust. When we move away from situations that we once loved it can be painful and bring up a lot of grief, and we may spend a lot of time worrying about the future and if we’ll ever have what we had in the past. Again we have a card pointing to the moment we are in instead of to the future. Every time we leave something behind, we learn, we grow, and we evolve. Can you trust your own decisions and choices and believe you’re moving towards something better, knowing that you likely will get no assurance that you’re moving in the right direction?

This reading took place just days after I was invited to visit the farm @gaiashideout. This was 2 whole months before I actually moved there in March 2021. In January was told that the owners wanted to build a community and host events. I was invited to join that community, which sounded like a total dream! So in this reading, I was asking my guides what would be my future with Gaia’s Hideout.
🃏𝙳𝚒𝚠𝚊𝚝𝚊/𝚃𝚎𝚖𝚙𝚎𝚛𝚊𝚗𝚌𝚎 the Diwata are our guides, ancestors, spirits of nature, they spoke of alignment, patience and waiting which were definite things I had to work through for those couple months before it aligned for me to move there. I worried, I felt distant because it was hard for me to get all the way down to Homestead to start building with this community, I got discouraged a few times. Patience was key.
🃏 𝙻𝚊𝚔𝚊𝚙𝚊𝚝𝚒, 𝚃𝚑𝚎 𝙴𝚖𝚙𝚛𝚎𝚜𝚜, is representative of Pachamama, Lakapati, Mother Nature — GAIA 💚🌱😭 this was the kicker for me… Gaia’s Hideout is a 10-acre exotic fruit farm with jackfruit groves, bananas, papayas, mangoes and so many exotic fruits I had never heard of. As many of you know, the community did come together and we truly experienced Gaia’s bounty. This card spoke of re-membering our belonging to nature, and living in connection + reception of her endless blessings.
🃏𝙳𝚊𝚕𝚊𝚠𝚊 𝚗𝚐 𝙱𝚊𝚕𝚊𝚝/𝟸 𝚘𝚏🍷 In this card Spirit expressed to me that a binding of beings to one another through spirit, a sacred union, was being uplifted. Giving me the awareness that…(continued in photos)
