Fic title: "You stepped and you jumped and you went right over"

I'd write a Star Wars fic about a young, impulsive Jedi - probably Ahsoka tbh - losing her way or making a very big mistake, motivated by good intentions. I think I'd start with an older, wiser character - if I'm writing the story with Ahsoka, then probably Obi-Wan - telling a personal story of making the same type of mistake that comes into play later on, and Ahsoka feeling that she has learned from it. But of course, she'd face the same circumstances and do the exact same thing, and it would end without a neat resolution.

Like Obi-Wan getting fooled into helping some poor orphan children who are actually in a criminal ring, and it turns out he's been played by some pretty awful people and inadvertently helped them hurt a whole bunch of innocents, with the moral of his story being that compassion is always the right choice, but it's not an absolute guarantee that you won't cause pain around you. Ahsoka would remember that story as something pretty sad that couldn't happen to her, and then (probably during the early days of the Empire) she'd repeat that same scenario.

It wouldn't end too depressingly but it wouldn't be very happy either. I think the end would just be heavy and thoughtful, with the real challenge being accepting responsibility but without self-recrimination.

Or if she is even free at all, or if she only found another set of duties and expectations in Middle-Earth instead

Look I just have a lot of Feels about Eärendil choosing the fate of the elves for love, for Elwing's sake, despite feeling closer kinship to men. I just. I just can't see this as being about anything else

"What kind of flowers bloom in that paradise?" - I'm sorry this has a lot of very interesting vibes but my brain's just drawing a blank anyway

"What should I, in my weakness, loathe? Ah, now I finally know" - somehow this sounds very Garak. I think some kind of character study fic of Garak figuring out his feelings about, like, everything about living on DS9 but especially regarding a certain Doctor Julian Bashir...

"As we sing of the time of the cherry blossoms" - this has A Vibe, and makes me think of how cherry blossoms in japanese culture symbolize the briefness life, but again idk what characters or fandom it would be, sorry ':D

"The people who wandered in the dark" - makes me think of the dúnedain of the North for some reason. Maybe a fic set around the fall of the Arthedain, when the dúnedain of the north became rangers

"The fire of your soul that burned so red" - this has Merlin vibes somehow. Maybe a post-canon Merlin & immortal!Leon fic where Merlin never returns to Camelot after Arthur's death, but Leon finds him years later, still blaming himself for Arthur's death, barely a shadow of who he once was

"Dress me all in flowers white so no mortal eye can see" - this is a story about someone sacrificing themself. Idk why but it is. Maybe about Glorfindel during the Fall of Gondolin, fighting the balrog to save those who escaped the city. And maybe continuing on to his existence in the Halls of Mandos, afterwards. And maybe even onward to him returning to life and being tasked with going back to Middle-Earth.

31. Of the characters you write for, which is your favorite? Has that choice been swayed at all by your followers/readers’ reactions to certain ones?

currently it's got to be zargothrax of gloryhammer fame. the more time i spent thinking about him the more complex he became in my brain so it's less my readers swaying it (although positive feedback on how i write him is my bread and butter) and more me rotating him until i got him just right

I just can't not write. There are so many many ideas in my head and I just need to get them out or else I won't be able to think of anything else for a long time. Sometimes it helps if I just write down notes to at least get the gist out (you don't want to see my private channel on discord or the amount of papers i have lying around)

Hmmm ... is it though? ^^" As in, if that "you" is in relation to me. I'm normally just writing for fandoms if someone says they wish to see a specific idea come to life and I vibe with that idea. If others also like it, all the better! Hence, since I only wish that one person who wanted it likes it, I don't think my personal writing is important for the fandom 😅

"It's time who guides us" - I think this would be a Galadriel-centric fic, for some reason, following her growth from the rebellious young woman looking for a land of her own to rule, through the years of hardship and all the horrors she sees, into the woman we meet in LOTR

"Let me find my way home, feel alive again" - Elrond fic. Probably about going to the West, and all the reunions there, kind of a metaphorical idea of home as being with your loved ones, you know?

"Life goes by, towards time and space" - Old Garashir. Reflecting on their past, but at peace with it, just fluff and calm, you know?

"Today, the memory of you is a bird, beating its wings against me" - hmm. I mean it would be angsty as fuck, that's for certain. Maybe post-canon immortal Merlin fic, about him missing Lancelot?

"Without an ounce of fear" - I mean, this could apply to basically any of my fandoms. I think, bc I'm the asshole who likes angst too much :P that this would be some kind of a self-sacrifice/facing what looks like certain death type fic (though not necessarily actually ending in death), with the character consciously, fearlessly, making that choice, going forward into what they're certain will kill them

"Hope seems like a summer's bird" - ok this is a Julian at the internment camp fic. Trying and failing to hold onto hope that anyone would notice or come rescue him

Currently obsessed with: my new haircut xD I more or less spontaneously decided to get a pixie cut again, which I had 7-8 years ago before I grew it out again. I mostly had shoulder-length hair for the last years, but it was the best decision ever to cut it short again, I'm really happy and can't stop smiling when I look into the mirror
