So I was at a 4th of July event... for the explosions, of course.
But I'm watching several children running free under minimal supervision, and caught sight of a younger couple lighting firecrackers and throwing them over the backside of the bleachers.
I hear other adults mention in amongst their groups on the bleachers that the couple is rude. But nobody collects the kids running in the area where Firecrackers are being set off. Nobody else asks them to stop either.
I give them a staredown, and they pick up on it. Dude passes the 'crackers to his lady. She lights one and throws it behind the bleachers. More peripheral complaining & a failure to do anything from anyone else.
I get up from my spot & wend my way over to them, and say calmly with a normal tone
"Hey guys, as a parent I would really appreciate it if you please wouldn't light the cherry bombs like that, as there's lots of kids running around nearby & I wouldn't want anyone to get injured on accident."
Dude replies nicely back, says they're not cherry bombs, and thanks me for asking them nicely, promises they won't light them again. They proceed not to light anymore that I could notice.
It shows all you have to do is ask nicely to establish a boundary. If that doesn't work, you can either escalate or leave.

LORD, Let Me Let YOU Lead Me!
LORD, Let Me Let YOU Lead Me!
I was typing yet another blog, when I looked at this mug that sits on my desk. It’s used as a pen and pencil holder. It’s in that spot all the time, but this morning, I saw it and received the message loud and clear. Once again, God was reminding me to let Him lead me. I purchased the mug a while ago as a reminder WHO is supposed to be leading in this “romance” and journey of faith between God…

You know I used to think "tumblr's absolute refusal to actually engage with the Trolley Problem in favor of insisting that there must be a third, morally pure option that doesn't require them to make a hard decision and anyone who asks them to make a binary choice is just a short-sighted idiot is really fucking annoying, but I guess it's not actually doing any harm".
Anyway that was before we asked tumblr at large to decide between "guy aiding a genocide but making progress elsewhere" and "guy who would actively and enthusiastically participate in a genocide and would also make everything else much, much worse for everyone elsewhere" and the response was that there must be a third, morally pure option that doesn't require them to make a hard decision and that anyone who asks them to make a binary choice is a short-sighted idiot.

I feel like I've complained about Tim's email situation in Gotham Knights before (edit: I have), but the truth of it is just so funny.
He's signed up for so many podcasts, video game streamers, and random news alerts; it's just a constant barrage of data going straight into his constantly whirring brain. Hell, he even floats the idea of the Batfamily having their own podcast as a way to correct misinformation about them (which Jason shoots down instantly), and it's made me realize something.
Timothy Drake would be a YouTuber.
In this universe specifically, Timothy Jackson Drake, the heir to Drake Industries and the foster son of the late Bruce Wayne would be a YouTuber.
Think about it. It'd be the perfect cover. Who would ever suspect that some 16-year-old nepo baby with a YouTube channel could ever be Red Robin? You'd have to be mad. I mean, look at him.
Red Robin just dropped out of literal thin air and garotted someone four times his size, and you expect anyone to believe that's the same kid who does 24-hour Minecraft charity streams and occasionally drops 6-hour video essays (his last one was on Lex Luthor's illegal bit mining operation on the moon)?
That kid?
You think that kid is Red Robin?
Ch'yah, okay, sure. And the Joker is funny 🤡.
