Also it’s been said before, but I’m going to say it again:
Buck’s actions are the exact same type of thing that people condemn cops for. There was a firefighter who was dirty, and instead of being happy that the truth was out there and that the dirty firefighter was caught, he was angry about it.
The LAFD literally wanted “to control the narrative” and not let people know that they hired a psychopath who murdered multiple people and put countless others at risk.
Buck was more interested in protecting a dirty firefighter than he was in protecting people or helping people or making sure that the truth was out there.
Now replace the word “firefighter” with the word “cop” every time I said it and see if you’re so willing to forgive him instead of condemn him for his actions.
Apparently the “thin [blue/red] line” is not only something that cops do. Buck will do anything to protect a dirty firefighter, even going so far as to dump his girlfriend for doing her job, because “he’s one of us”.
And he still has fans after this?

Someone with this in his bio just liked me on a dating app.
Tumblr media
Should I match with him and ask if he’s seen Goncharov (1973)

You ever have that moment where you've got a Favorite Character, but then somebody else decides that the fave is also their Favorite Character, but the character is their fave for all the wrong reasons, and now you're having a hard time enjoying your Favorite Character anymore because now it's sullied by somebody doing it wrong?

Okay but can we talk about the way Athena was looking at Bobby in that scene in the hospital?
And the way she grabbed ahold of his suspender?
She loves him SO much and needed to be grabbing hold of him because even if she was barely in the episode she DEFINITELY was worried sick and to get him back and alive and (mostly) uninjured was just everything to her and she just needed to be touching him.
I love them ❤️

This is literally so fucking misogynistic, and it’s extremely telling how many people in this fandom are celebrating.
If they were going to break up BT they could have done it at any point along the way. They could have promoted her out of state. Or it could have been when buck cheated, lied to her, and trapped her before telling the truth.
But no. It couldn’t be the pretty white boy’s fault. It had to be the fault of the evil woman. Because women, by default, are bad. Obviously. And anything bad that happens has to be their fault. Even though literally the only thing Taylor did was her job!!!

Okay but can we talk about Bobby’s complicated relationship with fatherhood?
After he lost Bobby Jr. and Brook and felt that he was responsible for it, he genuinely believed he didn’t deserve to be a father. He loves May and Harry with everything he’s got, but a part of him so fully and completely believes in how little he deserves to be a father again that he can’t believe they would see him, or even want him, as their dad.
But not only do May and Harry see him as their dad, they truly want him to be their dad. And especially now that Michael is out of the picture, they also NEED him to be their dad.
He was never unworthy of it and he always deserved it, regardless of his past, and I love SO MUCH that he’s slowly starting to realize it

I’m still SCREAMING over that promo for the finale!!!
They’ve been building this up all season long and FINALLY Bobby is going to get the focus he deserves - likely leading into 6a belonging to him in the same way 5a belonged to Athena - and I am READY!!!
But also NOT ready
Because this is going to DESTROY ME!!!

So according to buck stans It’s okay to:
1) Cheat on your girlfriend
2) Lie to your girlfriend
3) Trap your girlfriend before telling her the truth
4) Try to control every aspect of your girlfriend’s job
5) Thinking that “controlling the narrative” about a psychopath who murdered people and put others at risk is the right thing to do instead of presenting the truth the way it is
But it’s not okay to:
1) Do your job

No but I’m still trying to figure out how Bobby’s broken back fits into the whole honeymoon cruise thing.
Like I could see Bobby using that as an argument to convince Athena to do go. “I’m on medical leave anyway, so why don’t we take advantage of that?” type of thing.
But what I can’t figure out is how that cruise is going to fit into him getting a post-injury arc, regardless of whether it’s a relapse arc or not. I can’t imagine him and Athena coming back from their caribbean cruise all sun-kissed and relaxed only to dive into a post-injury arc.
So I feel like one of three things is going to happen:
1) Something happens while they’re on that cruise and because of his back Bobby feels absolutely helpless to do anything or to protect Athena, which then causes him to lose the battle with his struggle not to fall back into that dark place he was in the last time he broke his back
2) The trip is him trying to distract himself, and it doesn’t really succeed
3) There is some sort of complication with his back after the trip (because of the trip?  👀) that just makes everything worse

You know it says something that some people’s reaction to being given a goddamn inch is to only increase how much they harass and bully people, increase their blatant misogyny (and even delight in it), and increase their cruelty.
It’s almost as if if you give a bully anything, it’ll only make them worse.

Guys I am sick with covid and want to binge something but I just finished my nostalgic Western binge and I also watched the latest episodes of Leverage: Redemption so that's also off my to-watch list and now I need suggestions on what to binge.
HMU, what should I watch?

Okay but in season 6 I expect there to constantly be a giant bouquet of flowers constantly just... in the break room of dispatch. A new one every week.
And we just see them in the background in just about every episode, but it’s not really given a bunch of attention.
And then 4-5 episodes in I want to see Carson delivering Josh’s weekly bouquet of flowers. And Josh just gets this big dopey grin on his face before displaying them lovingly in the breakroom so that everybody can see what an amazing boyfriend he has!

Seriously the more I think about this Jonah plot the more... annoyed I get with it.
Are you seriously telling me that Bobby agonized over those resumes, and yet didn’t see the obvious red flag of Jonah moving from state to state to state? He didn’t question why?
And even the thing with Hen. It was explicitly implied that she treated everybody who came into that position the way she treated Jonah. She literally called him Monday because “there’s a new one of you every week”. It might have sat better with me if she had even begged Bobby to bring in somebody else she’d liked better instead of framing it herself as “why fill this position? Chim is coming back!”
Like the actual events of it were legitimately really really really good, but those elements of the setup were... sub-standard at best.

Okay but also???
Josh and Maddie getting lunch together and Josh talking about Carson and how he thinks he’s genuinely falling in love with him. Maddie getting a kind of a sad look on her face as she thinks about Chimney.
Maddie meeting Carson and immediately loving him so much because he’s so sweet and kind and funny and just perfect for Josh.
Maddie inviting all of her best boys (Josh with Carson, Buck with Taylor, and Chim) over for dinner. Maddie watching Haysso and BuckTaylor being so in love and shares a Look with Chimney.
Maddie and Chimney finding their way back to each other and Josh immediately inviting them on a double date because “You have no idea how annoying it’s been to finally have someone to go on a double date with you with and now you were the one without a date to come with!!”
Haysso and Madney being double date besties and somehow always roping BuckTaylor into babysitting Jee-Yun while they go out.
