if i had a nickel for every time an anthropomorphic wolf made a comic about the system term "host"...

we previously thought we were hostless because we all fronted fairly equally. we realized this was just because we, personally, were in a toxic environment/mindset that had us under constant distress. when we tried to work through this more, we found that one of us, me, does front majority of the time, now that things are better.

our old host comic is still very important to us, regardless of whether or not we are a "hostless" system. it still resonated with many and brought some attention to a lesser-known experience in systems. for that reason, we are still very glad we shared it.

just a reminder that all the bg3 companions are in fact bi or pan- i see a lot of people headcanoning karlach as lesbian, which- yes i get that sexuality is complicated and you’re allowed to have headcanons, but if your only reasoning for that headcanon is “well just look at her” or something along the lines of “stereotypical butch lesbian”, you’re gonna need to ask yourself why you’re basing sexuality off of stereotypes

i’ve seen the same thing with astarion- people headcanon him as gay with their only reason being “stereotypical flamboyant gay man” despite him a, not actually being that flamboyant in the first place- his flamboyancy is a mask he uses- and b, able to have sexual and romantic relationships with women in game.

stereotypes are not all sexuality is, stop trying to make it into that

a fylter (pronounced filter) us an alter with a role similar to gatekeeper, but cannot control access to memories. they only control who is fronting, who is dormant, and can oftentimes manipulate the innerworld. usually this alters abilities stem from their abilities in source but not always

I’ve never understood the people who are all “fictives should change their name if it doesn’t match the bodies ethnicity” as if we have any control over who we split?? Our Aussie-Italian host didn’t, at the ripe old age of like 7, go “I’m going to deliberately split an ancient Egyptian”. I just,,, appeared because that’s what was needed at the time. And for a long time the only thing I knew was my name, Ahkmenrah. (Which by the way, isn’t a real pharaoh I was made up for the NATM series). Obviously I’m aware of the body I front in, where I live and what privileges I do and don’t have in this body. I’m not stupid.

For a lot of us our names are a massive part of our identities, you can’t just ask us to change that. (Also I’m from an ancient dead culture there’s no one walking around with the name Ahkmenrah nowadays). While fictives are separate from their source to a point, they are still a fictive and still carry the memories and feelings from their source. If someone wants to change their name that’s fine, but you can’t expect others to follow suit. We don’t control how or who we split as, and asking us to take away our names is stripping us of a big part of our identities.

Idk just a thought, because I remembered when this discourse was a thing going around and I honestly can’t believe it was even up for debate.

you experience psychosis or some psychotic disorder

you're heavy in one or more alter roles

you have alters with no roles or who dot know what their roles are

you still live with people who caused you trauma

you're still in relationships with people who hurt you

you struggle with taking care of the body

you have nonhuman alters

you have invisible disabilities

you have physical disabilities

you and your system are valid. no matter your situation or trauma you are valid and we're proud of you for making it this far and doing your best each day. we wholeheartedly wish the best for you all

no one person let alone any system is meant to fit in a box, whether you do or not match up to the "standard" system description youre still valid. youre still loved. youre still amazing.
