because theres a whole franchise around oz and the world of oz that doesnt have an allusion already in the show that could have been used for these whacky shenanigans, esp considering that the conflict between *OZ* and Salem the *WICKED WITCH* is the central conflict, it at least would have had the set dressing of being tied to the plot (esp considering that we still dont have a dorothy??? i know theodore is supposed to be dorothy/toto but boo they havent even tried)

i mean i deffo know more about alice and wonderland stuff considering it has been a special interest of mine several times throughout my life so im sure someone else who knows more about Ozian stuff could go in depth with how rwby and jaune could have been following dorothys path or another characters story but yeah. why wonderland when they could have done oz

Honestly Pilot Bro is probably the saddest death of the series because there was no reason for him to die besides Weiss Wasn’t Good Enough. 

It’s harsh, but believable...but it’s also so rare in media. 

THe hero is supposed to SAVE that aside character. Or they’re supposed to be one of those “oh here is the Hero’s True Love, a Perfect Match, here is a--oh they’re dead now Angst and Tragedy and a reminder that the Hero can Never Settle Down.” These side characters? They need to live.

But Weiss was still only Level 9, and didn’t hit the buttons fast enough, and as a result, she lost the character. He wasn’t a guaranteed death, but he also wasn’t a Game Over if he died. 

RIP Pilot Bro. Future side characters will live on because Weiss will protect them...
