This is Madness

Lewis Hamilton to Ferrari is huge. Few things;

First, poor Carlos, having to announce his own departure is brutal.

Second, if Toto really only did find out yesterday, why? Was Lewis afraid he would change his mind? Guilt? Is the W15 a disaster?

Third, Ferrari was the only other option. There was very little chance he would wind up at Redbull. Max is first driver, Christian Horner has admitted to not seeing a future with him.

Fourth, BONO?! He signed an extension contract. So the question is does he have an out clause as well? Will Lewis buy him out? Can he? Will Bono even choose Lewis?

Fifth, Team Loyalty is a big deal in modern F1, but that's the key, it's modern. F1 drivers used to change teams more frequently. We've seen it even now. Alonso has been on six teams total, with separate stints at different times for Renault and McLaren. Kimi drove for five teams. Seb drove for five teams. Checo, five, and so on. Hamilton's stint with Mercedes is unprecedented. 17 years total. Not something to scoff at, but unprecedented. It shouldn't be treated as some ultimate betrayal. He was the exception to the rule.

Sixth, I think Lewis implicitly trusts Fred Vasseur. Do I? No. Do I think that the rumors going around about poaching Red Bull staff and the fact that we don't know about Bono or Andrew could mean that Lewis's side of the garage is stacked exactly how he wants it.

Seventh, Charles is not going to be second driver, not really. Yes, you don't bring a driver like Lewis in to make him second fiddle, but I think that the hope is that Charles will learn what he's been missing, and I love Charles but there are definitely moments that demonstrated room for growth. Lewis has always talked about how much the sport has changed, and even though it is his complaints that make headlines, his positive enforcement of some of these changes is a good attitude to bring. Charles is the 'Il Predestinato' they just want to make sure that he's the best version of it they can get.

Eighth, The Mercedes garage is going to spin this season. Their PR team is going to work like never before. They're going to spin the narrative to George, they're going to isolate Lewis. He can't be in the future development meetings anymore, he's the competition. His colleagues of a decade can no longer trust him and that is sure to be lonely. They're not going to let that be the story. I think we might even be seeing some of it already. The question as to whether or not Toto knew in advance, coming out against the fact that allegedly Sainz and LeClerc have known for at least a couple weeks, is interesting and I'm intrigued at the level of truth.

Ninth, Whether you like Lewis or not, there were moments last season that the team shafted him. Prioritizing his teammate when he was in a better position, abandoning him on podium, etc. Lewis was so supportive of Susie and Toto, George didn't even bother to do anything other than repost the official statement. Lewis was Jack's hero, now all of a sudden, George is the one on vacations, and teaching him carting. The relationship has been slowly fracturing since Abu Dhabi 2021. Whether or not Lewis leaves on a good note at the end of the season will depend on if Mercedes will even give him the time of day. This could very well be Daniel Ricciardo at McLaren.

Finally, I don't think Lewis Hamilton has ever been the type to pull the rug out from someone without cause. He's always been a huge target in the F1 community and I think he's been ready for a change for a while. It's hard to make a change, especially when you're leaving something that once treated you so well. If it is true that he gave Mercedes no proper warning then hopefully he apologizes and explains. We're not entitled to know, but they are.

So toby revealed this cut chapter 3 track in the newsletter, from a stealth section that didn't make it into the final version, and it's fucking. A noir-esque Lost Girl remix. Which, aside from the fact that it's amazing, is throwing me for a loop because like, Noelle isn't even in this chapter, probably??? And every other time this theme has appeared its been DECIDEDLY noelle-or-dess related. i mean im probably reading into it and toby probably just thought it worked well for a funny stealth remix, but I can't help but be like 'stealth like HIDDEN like HIDING like FIND HER--' about it because im brained poisoned.

Here's a silly idea I just thought of: wouldn't it be funny if in Deltarune, Susie learned a "provoke"-type skill, where she could divert enemy attacks towards her - ostensibly as an extension of her "tough bully" persona, but actually because she wants to protect her friends in the best way she can.

And then Kris develops a "cover" mechanic so that, instead of Susie taking all the hits, they keep jumping in front of her, so they can protect her while she tries to protect them.

And then they start bickering mid-fight while Ralsei looks on in bewilderment, frantically leafing through his Big Book on Friendship(TM) and muttering "no no, this can't be right..."

The player would get absolutely no control over this by the way.

Do you guys think we are going to see Kris’s eyes in the future chapters? Not just the glowing red or the allusion to their eyes but like, their whole face not covered by their bangs.

I was drawing them earlier, and it came to mind that their covered face is kinda reminiscent of Susie’s in chapter 1.

She hid behind her bangs and the only glimpse we had of her eyes has when she was threatening someone, when she is confused or when she is angry.

Reminds you of someone?

You only get to see her face when she became more comfortable with Kris and their friendship, and if you think about it, she is not the only one.

Ralsei also hides his face in the beginning, only taking out his hat when he feels some measure of closeness with both Kris and Susie.

So why is that Kris won’t show their face? Well there is someone they are still not comfortable with… us.

Do you think they keep wanting to enjoy this adventure and new friendships, but not being able to bring themselves to lower their walls because of us? Can we reach a point in the game where we can befriend them?

Or will they only be able to show their face when we finally leave?

I at least hope that when everything reaches its conclusion, they will be comfortable enough to not hide anymore…

Susie moved away from her friends (and 2nd family) in Hometown, had a hard time making friends in her new town, finally found a friend online then the friend suddenly stopped replying to her (and she’d meet them in the worst way possible and wouldn’t even know it was them) and her parents are usually working and aren’t home most of the time.

So…the scene where Lancer had to keep the lightners in the dungeon would go as well or even “better” than the og scene…

I doubt Susie would constantly hit Lancer like the original Susie did (it seems VERY out of character for her) but I wouldn’t be shocked if she did attempt to hurt him out of frustration. But because she didn’t have a good hold of her powers at the time, she’d probably hurt herself in the process. (Ralsei would probably heal her in the elevator).

#yk bit of a random thought but i think people see Lancer as relatively surface-level character-wise #they see all these other characters like Noelle & Spamton & Ralsei etc #characters who CLEARLY have more to them you would need to be blind to miss it #Noelle is one of the main characters as of Chapter 2 & has obvious struggles #<- notably her father likely passing away later on & her interest in Susie (not a struggle but yk) #Spamton is a secret boss & has a lot of intrigue & mystique to him #<- plus he already has connections to characters like Swatch & the Addisons #Ralsei well yk how it is with him he's literally one of THE main characters #<- & we still don't know much about him & some people likely still think he could be evil as i'm typing this #<- that's how mysterious he is #but Lancer? he rly just seems like the comedic relief yk #<- the goofy sidekick #but no! Lancer is SO MUCH MORE than that! & it sucks that most people don't see it! #Lancer hs SO MUCH potential man i rly RLY hope he has a major role to play later on #<- not just in Chapter 1 #he's canonically part of the Fun Gang too ain't no way Toby Fox has this be canon #<- & completely tosses Lancer aside in later chapters #i have faith in Toby i think he can & will give Lancer justice in later chapters #just my endless tag ramble #maybe i should make this its own post and go more in-depth #yk what fuck it this is getting a deltarune tag on edit #ask #deltarune
