You know, don’t take this the wrong way, but I feel like you’ve become a lot more fun since I’ve known you.
And if I may return the compliment, I think you’ve become marginally less annoying.
Superstore S01E01 - Pilot
Superstore S02E07 - Election Day
can totally see rina paralleling this simmosa scene where after secretly dating for a couple episodes, they decide to announce to everyone that they’re dating and everyone is completely unfazed by the news because of how bad they were at hiding it 😭
i think it’s so fun that a core part of simmosa’s relationship coming to fruition is the cyclical nature of working at cloud 9. that jonah was always able to make days feel new for amy after she had spent so long being stuck in the rut of the same routine is such a driving force in their love for each other. so in the series finale, when superstore is ending IN MANY WAYS the same way that it began, intentionally working in all these parallels to the pilot, it’s proving something to the audience and AMY HERSELF. yes, while there may be days that look the same as days you endured before, you have the ability to make them memorable by imbuing them with moments that you alone find important.
i don’t know whether amy was actually noticing at the time that cloud 9’s last day was a lot like jonah’s first day, since realistically, those sorts of things only come in hindsight, but i like to think that she could. enough to nudge her in his direction and make her give a whole speech about it, at least. i like to think that amy looked at him while he was teaching her about their new scanners, glanced at him from the couch while they were watching the interview tapes, saw him picking up toilet paper and putting them back on the shelves, and she figured out she was RELIVING a day that she’d gone through before. but she didn’t think it was the same as it was back then. IT WAS CLEARLY SO DIFFERENT. since she was now in the position that he was on day one.
and that’s why amy went up to jonah and asked why he’d spent so long working there. why he’d stayed. even when she wasn’t reciprocating. even when she was just... gone. because although they’re going through the same motions they did all those years ago, she’s found it, those moments of beauty in all the similarities. and she has to tell him that she finally sees them before it’s too late.

On S02E07, Cheyenne says she can’t vote because she isn’t 18 yet, but in S02E05 Cole said he didn’t do anything illegal because he had waited until she was 18. That was just two episodes ago, how could they make that mistake.
