Okay so Clark! My beloved! For my current vore headcannons I’ve decided the whole shrinking people and keeping them safe inside thing is just a natural extension of his abilities. After all, if he can shoot lasers out of his eyes and fly in space then I think vore powers really aren’t that out of the question lol. He’s pretty much always known about them and has likely even used them on Ma and Pa Kent a few times, but he really and I mean REALLY doesn’t want anyone else to know he can eat people. Even once he’s working as Superman he keeps that side of himself under wraps because he’s honestly still figuring out how to use those powers and they’re….scary to say the least. 

Jimmy and Lois absolutely end up finding out after they learn about the whole Superman thing though. He still didn’t really want to show them but Lois was in danger, he panicked, and Jimmy saw the whole thing. 

Clark was genuinely certain Lois would hate him for it but honestly, she was more surprised than properly scared and once she’d processed what happened she instantly became SO curious. Just absolutely bombarded him with question after question while poking at the walls and oh he got SO red. Things only got ‘worse’ once Jimmy caught up and practically tackled Clark to try and talk to Lois inside, figure out what happened, and maybe get himself eaten too. 

Side tangent about Jimmy. I absolutely think he’d not only know what vore is, but low key be kind of fascinated by it too. It goes hand in hand with some of his conspiracy theories and I feel like he’d give anything to be eaten by like. Mothman or something. 

Anyways once his eating people abilities become something his friends know about Clark starts to loosen up about the whole thing. He’s still embarrassed about eating people of course, but he’s gradually begun to enjoy it as well. Lois and Jimmy have made so many little games out of it and slowly but surely have gotten Clark far more comfortable and even a bit silly when the situation calls for it. He always has a bowl of warm water and a toasty fluffy towel ready whenever he spits someone back up and there’s no way to stop him from doting on them for a solid half hour at least once they’re out lol. 

Clark also has a massive appetite and insane metabolism because I mean look at him, he has to. It’s not really something he’s thought a ton about I wager, but it means he’s got a pretty bit capacity and could genuinely fit quite a few people down if he had to. Not that he wants to test that theory of course. What it does mean though is, since the default size he’ll shrink his friends down to is maybe six inches at the most, he’s usually still a bit hungry after downing them. Lois picked up on that FAST and was the one who finally managed to persuade him to eat a little food with her every now and then. He’ll say he only does it for her, but he likes it too. 

More often than not now the group’s little movie nights or camping trips will end with Lois and Jimmy tucked away in Clark’s stomach, and as much as that embarrasses him, he also LOVES feeling so trusted and accepted. It means a lot to him that they still like him despite all the weirdness.

Warning! I might get some stuff wrong, and also I'm only covering the surface-level stuff.

Ok so once upon a time a planet blew up into three parts, so a bunch of misogynistic scientists made a big robot powered by Magical Mercury and sent it to space so it could learn how to fix their planet.

Meanwhile, inside the robot there was a massive civilisation of li'l guys, superheroes and old people. One little guy was a scientist who GLaDOS'd himself and accidentally made li'l guys sentient. One time a kaiju attacked the big li'l guy city, so the mayor summoned The Avengers to fight it, and they got to stick around for a bit, until most of them either died or went off to do their own things, leaving only Hoverboard Superman, Green Man and Murdery Ghost Lady. Green Man got mutated and turned into Green Crab Man because he fell in love with a sexy lizard he was training. Green Crab Man and his accomplice The Amazing One-Eyed Bear went back to the big city and decided to help the mayor (who was actually Satan in disguise as the actual mayor) take over the world or something. Hoverboard Superman, knowing that shit was about to get real, gave some magic rocks to six li'l guys (Angsty Blacksmith, Some Random Teacher, SCP Employee, Crash Test Himbo, Smug Carver and Astrology Twink) to turn them into the New Avengers. Also there are, like, Xenomorph Robocops I guess. After a quest to gather magic frisbees so Angsty Blacksmith could forge a face-mounted time-machine (during which it was revealed that Hoverboard Superman got turned into an old person), Satan decided to vore Green Crab Man, One-Eyed Bear and his pet bird, oneshotted Hoverboard Superman, and then got sealed in a glass bubble by the New Avengers.

You'd think this would deal with Satan forever, but then that sexy lizard and her husband (*canned audience gasping*) and also an army of spiders showed up and took over the city, and the former was, like, super hot for Satan, so she scraped a bit off his glass bubble and put it in her cleavage (I am only slightly exaggerating). The New Avengers came back to get all the li'l guys, but the spiders captured them and brought them to sexy lizard's house, where the spiders then turned them into furries. After the team met some scalies (who used to be Satan's own personal praetorian guard before he turned evil) and trekked all the way to Some Temple to meet The Key To Nongu (who can reverse mutations), Angsty Blacksmith turned evil and became the sexy lizard's catboy sub (again, only slightly exaggerating). He then turned good, the sexy lizard's husband was killed so hard that he canonically couldn't even go to the Dead Space nightmare space-station that functions as the Bonkle afterlife, and the New Avengers went to The Beach That Doesn't Make You Old and became old people the old-fashioned way; by sacrificing their power to wake up the li'l guys. But Satan was also freed...

Way-too-long later, everyone lived on a nice island. But there is... a prophecy. Namely, that 6 special superheroes will show up and kick Satan's ass. Angsty Blacksmith - who Has Visions™ - sends a weird kid (whose colours don't seem to match everyone else's) on a quest to summon the special superheroes. He does that, but loses his memory and goes on a fun adventure. Meanwhile, the special superheroes have shown up, and are fighting off Satan's possessed animals. They go to a cool temple thing and fight Satan, but then that weird kid wakes up some evil armadillos that start CLEANing IT ALL, so the special superheroes fight them, but after putting their queens in a cage, they get dunked into some Magical Mercury that turns them into super-special superheroes. But there is... another prophecy, namely that someone will become the seventh super-special superhero, so that weird kid goes on a quest with this guy and a giant crab, and surprise! Turns out that the weird kid - who I haven't linked an article about up until now because it would be a spoiler - is actually the Seventh Superhero! But boo hiss etc., Satan has sent his evil prawn-man underlings to attack the island, so Seventh Superhero beats Satan up by playing hockey at him, and everyone goes back to the big city.

A few months later, the special superheroes sail off into the west (actually the south), but no-one knows why, so six li'l guys (accompanied by Seventh Superhero) follow them and (with the exception of Seventh Superhero, who couldn't go all the way for Reasons™) they all end up on Frankenstein's Island, where Frankenstein tries to commit body-horror on them until they get saved by an insane li'l guy, who shoves them into tubes and sends them to Scary Island.

On Scary Island it was born to the collective of the dawn there are some messed-up shark dudes who have been pretending to be superheroes, but really they want The Macguffin for Reasons. Also one of them is extra messed-up, because he was split off the blue shark dude, and is chained to a giant spider in a cave. The six li'l guys (who are now Electric Superheroes because the Dead Space Space-Station Afterlife shot them with lightning) fight the shark dudes, fight the extra messed-up one and get The Macguffin, but then they go underwater and do some stuff down there (including meeting a li'l guy who turns into a duplicate of a prison warden who died millenia ago), and quite frankly I know very little about the story from 2007 to the end of 2008, so I'll just say that they get the Macguffin, but one of the six Electric Superheroes realises he needs to sacrifice himself to wake up God (no really). He does that, everyone goes back to the big city, and the six special superheroes (and the Seventh Superhero) go to some electric caves and get split up, with half of them fighting three vampire dudes and half of them fighting three bug mutants. They wake up God, but uh-oh, Satan takes over, puts God into the Macguffin, and shoots him out onto the broken up planet.

So anyway God incarnates, meets some guys, fights some guys, and takes control of a smaller giant robot, then kills Satan with the moon. A moon.

Anyway that's Bionicle, I'm going downstairs to watch Breaking Bad.

What would you say are the best stories featuring Booster?

I struggled with this for way too long (and forgot about it for a minute oops sorry) bc I am horrible at answering ‘what’s the best ___’ questions. I genuinely have been asking ‘does it have to be the best or can it just be my favorite’ since I was like nine.

In light of that, I just decided to list the comics that make my brain melt, that have the characterization and plot elements I yell about the most, or are just really solid stories I think everyone should read:

- Booster Gold volume 1 #2 (better than the growing pains of the first issue, and sets up a lot of the themes around performance and failure that have stayed Important)

- BG v1 #6-7 (first origin story and first Superman crossover!!! Lots of important stuff set-up here)

- BG v1 #25 (part of Millennium which isn’t good thought I enjoy boosters arc. But mostly it’s the wrap up of his first solo! Also: ted yells at booster to get his shit together and come home to the JLI for the first time and I scream every time that happens)

- Justice League #4 (the moment where booster clicked as a character for me)

- Justice League #8 (the first blue & gold story!)

- Secret Origins #35 (the perfect booster origin with the frame story of booster telling ted about his past. My two appearance blorbo Snake Eyes is from here.)

- JLI annual #2 (first of the heroes-for-hire blue & gold stories and also includes the best ending of any JLI issue. Chef’s kiss.)

- Justice League International #25 (my favorite jli issue for yeeeears. Others have overtaken it as faves but still so good)

- Conglomerate arc, especially JLA #37 & Justice League Quarterly #1 (the best booster arc I’ll accept no slander implying otherwise. the (in)famous Club JLI story is the set-up for this arc)

- JLA #51 (return to blue & gold hijinx after the conglomerate arc)

- JL Quarterly #10 (sequel to boosters origin that is so important. Should be mandatory reading even if it doesn’t get the attention it deserves. Quarterly has various good booster stories, but 1 & 10 are the most important reads imo)

- JLA #70 (I’m not huge on boosters characterization from the jurgens jla run, but this issue is good)

- all of Dan Vado’s JLA but especially the Judgment Day crossover that ends it

- Extreme Justice #6 (sequel to BG vol 1. booster gets back what dirk davis took from him. Hell yeah.)

- I’m uncomfortable calling the magically fixed disability arc “the best” but I stand by Robert Washington being an unsung great of booster characterization, and the way he set up booster for future stories at the end of EJ was so exciting, even if it all got wiped away by:

- Superman #124 (does this immediately get rid of my darling Armor X costume? Yea. Is it still good enough to warrant its place on this list? Also yea.)

- Adventures in the DCU #8 (just cute blue & gold hijinx during a period where we didn’t get a lot of those!)

- Okay so listen. I know there are good stories in the v2 era. But I think they’re the exception, and because of that, I don’t reread that era as often as I should and don’t want to recommend stories based on ‘I remember liking this one I think?’ alongside comics like Secret Origins #35 or JL #4 which I’ve read so often I could redraw panels from memory.

- BG v2 #39 (this one’s good though & I reread it recently. I actually like most of the giffen & dematties run that led up to this (rani’s from this run!!!!) but smack in the middle of stories I really like is the fucking femdom space pirate vore plot so we’ll just go with recommending this one issue which doesn’t have all that)

- Justice League Unlimited #43 (giffen makes me want to throw things at him often, but when he’s good, he’s the best. Just a really solid blue & gold issue setting them up in the JLU universe in a way that combines boosters jlu deal with their comic selves really well.)

- Booster Gold/The Flintstones (best modern booster story.)

- Booster Shot from Actions Comics (okay I just reread this bc I’ve been meaning to & I wanted to be able to recommend something else modern other than the fucking flinstones crossover and while it has its flaws, I think it was a good set up for booster in the contemporary era that has yet to be built on successfully)

Some superheroes are forever stuck in the void

Robin and co canonically murder Batman's parents and superman's planet

Robin and co are so absorbed in their intro song that they don't notice the villain that they're singing to literally walking away, stealing, and the justice league defeating him.

Dream sequence where the heroes are literally eating grass.

Teen titans go 2nd movie:

Teen titans start saying the whole thing is clearly a trap and that they have to become allies to defeat the villain. Teen titans go completely ignore that in favor of trying to win

Teen titans go beast boy turns into an ultra cute kitten in order to convince his enemies not to battle him

Teen titans and teen titans go roast each others' shows

Teen titans go go and very efficiently raid Santa's place. It is extremely obvious that they've done it before. Oh and teen titans and teen titans go fight santa.

Previously answered here. They all have what would be considered superhuman strength, stamina, speed, etc. NOT in the same capacity as Superman or the Flash, etc, but just significantly above average.

[comic & movie review] superman/batman: apocalypse

it was pretty novel this early in the dc universe original movies line to get a direct sequel! in fact i think this might be the first one? so that was pretty cool!

there were a lot of moments that worked really well in isolation but it felt kind of like there were more moments that were infuriating in isolation, and on the whole it just doesn’t cohere as something nearly as good as public enemies. but still, batman gets vored (briefly), and goth kara can absolutely step on me.

the movie is also exceptionally faithful to the source material, so that’s pretty cool! although, i was kind of hoping i’d like the comic better than the movie since i liked the first comic so much, but seeing as it turned out the movie was basically a panel for shot remake of the comic, i had many of the same problems with the comic that i did with the movie.

worse, instead of helping like it did with the first story, bruce and clark’s narration actually emphasized further that this story wasn’t really about kara, it was about clark. and i just think that’s such a waste. i know that’s kind of this series’ whole deal, but taking that into account they probably should have reintroduced her to the dc canon in a different title. c-rank
