pooh’s book club: el túnel {5/10 books READ!}

i believe this is the first 1st-person narrative i have read in spanish, and i truly wonder if anything else will ever top it. i had zero expectations going into it, and was completely thrown for a loop as the plot was revealed. if a book can make me visibly and physically uncomfortable enough to exclaim my displeasure aloud, then that’s a good read for me.

a quick intro: hi my name is maxine, i just started my senior year of high school, and im based in the philippines! after a long time literally years of lurking on the studyblr community, ive finally decided to make my own blog! im an ib diploma candidate in year two (wahoooo!) and im hoping to go to college in california next fall~

Am i starting this challenge 5 days late? Maybe 💀

What series/movie has been sitting on your watchlist forever? And what is it that keeps pushing it back from being enjoyed?

technically one piece, I’ll watch it every so often and make some progress but I don’t consistently watch it and it’s really annoying bskjfkd i’ve been in the sky island arc for SO long but i wanna make more progress to see more of like ,, doflamingo but hHHHH it’s not even that i’m bored i just don’t watch shows sm anymore :(

Day 9 - What is the worst thing about studyblr in your opinion?

Classism. Popular blogs are the ones with $$$ (fancy pens + fancy tech + enough time to make pretty notes etc) which isn’t v sexy and sends a detrimental message to the younger members, as well as unintentionally pushing students to make pretty notes which could be an ineffective method and essentially a waste of time. 

Day 10 - What is one thing you wished you could change about studyblr?

Wish people would give more rep to studyblr’s that aren’t traditionally aesthetic 

Day 11 - What is something that you have learnt from studyblr?

How to chill out a little (does that i mean i chill out tho? no)

Day 2 If you’ve chosen a major, why did you decide on it? If you’re in any other grade , what field/major interests you the most?

I chose it because I always enjoyed working with animals (specifically horses) and decided that I may as well choose the hardest option for that field. Turns out surgery is mad fun as well as like ,,, the whole figuring out what’s wrong w an animal so u know

Day 3 Have you done a challenge before? If so, how was it? If not, what are you expecting to get out of this experience?

I have a couple times! It pushed me to post more often but I always ended up forgetting or something, I’m trying to not do that w this one but I ... already forgot to post day 2 :/

Day One Introduce yourself! What’s some basic info you’d like to share about yourself? Also! What are you studying? (If you’re in college, what’s your major? which semester are you in?)

Hiya, I’m Hal!! I’m studying vet med at uni (first year, second semester), and I gotta say, starting uni during a perpendicular is not the best move but it’s also not the worst, so I’ll take it.

Um, fun facts about me? I almost cried over wandavision on friday, and I still need to watch the new aot ep from yesterday so 😀 I also need to catch up to jjk, I Might Read The Manga once i’m caught up in the anime, AND i need to catch up to the bnha manga (which I’m not excited for bc one of my friends goes thru regular meltdowns over the weekly chapters and it’s ! so stressful!)
