Book Review for The Write Way for Love
Tumblr media
To say I love this book would be far too easy. To say I am head over hills for Sam and Anita would feel repetitive. Instead, I will say I have never read a book where I feel like I could step into the pages. The Write Way For Love engulfs you, pulling you into the small town of Moonshine, Australia. From the hijinks of the townspeople, to the bromance of Reece and Sam, to the magic that is Anita and the circus, you will grow to know, love, and figuratively stand beside them, experiencing all the feels that only an exceptional writer can provide.
In a literary world dominated by female authors, a crafty pseudonym has allowed Samuel Harthrup to make his way in and disturb the status quo. Posing as Sammie Hart (and doing everything in his power to keep his true identity a secret), Samuel couldn’t ask for anything more. With a bestselling, record-breaking romance and a growing fan base demanding a sequel, Samuel’s editorial team is beside itself waiting to get a glimpse at his latest manuscript. Sounds wonderful except the next “epic romance” is turning into an epic fail. Taking advice from his doctor and best friend Reece, Samuel decides to denounce his hermit lifestyle for a night, rejoining the living by heading out to the circus that has come into town. Looking for motivation in the form of liquid courage, Sam suddenly finds himself falling, quite literally, for a gorgeous curvy palm reader. Pulling him from the game bin that he just fell into, Anita Fortuna finds herself drawn to Sam. A kindred spirit in the arts, Anita asks to read Sam’s palms and gets more than she bargains for when he passes out of her (what is with this guy and gravity?!) Enjoying the nuisances of small town hospitality (and hoping for a decent meal for once), Anita ends up playing babysitter in Sam’s apartment. While waiting for Sam to regain consciousness, she discovers a manuscript that must be a comedy because it is either that hilarious or that awful! Not one to bite her tongue, she quickly shares with hungover Sam all the ways he has gone wrong with his romance – creating the missing spark Sam needs to get back on track. Together, can these two pull off the impossible and create the sequel the fans demand without writing a love story of their own?
I have had the pleasure of reading a lot of Indie authors and Brooklyn is definitely one to watch. I don’t know if she did it intentionally but she has set this book up perfectly for at least two more in the series (hint…hint). I would love to read Reece’s entire story and Adam’s. The town of Moonshine has stolen my heart and I can’t wait to see what other magic it has up its sleeve.
Check out the spoiler free review in the Facebook Group - The Romantic Comedy Book Club or read the entire review on the main website: https://romcombc.com/book/the-write-way-for-love
Thank you Brooklyn Dean - Author for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Imaginary Friend - Summer read 2
Imaginary Friend is a novel written by Stephen Chbosky that delves into the realms of horror, mystery, and psychological thriller. Chbosky takes a sharp turn in this book to explore a different genre with a compelling and chilling narrative.
The story revolves around Kate Reese and her young son, Christopher, who are trying to escape an abusive past by relocating to the seemingly idyllic town of Mill Grove. However, their new beginning takes a dark turn when Christopher goes missing in the woods for six days. When he returns, he appears unharmed but with a mysterious and intense urge to build a treehouse in the woods, as instructed by an eerie voice only he can hear.
As the plot unfolds, Chbosky masterfully weaves elements of psychological horror, supernatural occurrences, and the complexities of human relationships. The town of Mill Grove itself becomes a character in the story, with its secrets, history, and inhabitants adding layers of intrigue and tension.
The pacing of "Imaginary Friends" is both its strength and weakness. Chbosky excels at building suspense and keeping readers on the edge of their seats, but the book's length can make the pacing uneven at times. The shifts between past and present events, as well as the multiple perspectives, contribute to the intricate web of the story but may also occasionally lead to confusion.
Chbosky's writing style is vivid and descriptive, creating a deeply atmospheric setting that immerses the reader into the unsettling world of the novel. The characters are multi-dimensional and realistic, with their struggles and vulnerabilities adding depth to the narrative. The dynamics between the characters, especially Christopher and his mother Kate, are poignant and emotionally resonant.
While "Imaginary Friends" is a horror novel, it also explores themes of trauma, resilience, and the power of imagination. The book poses questions about the nature of belief, the fine line between reality and imagination, and the lengths to which a person will go to protect their loved ones.
In conclusion, "Imaginary Friends" is a gripping and ambitious exploration of horror and psychological suspense. With its intricate plot, well-developed characters, and chilling atmosphere, the novel is a roller-coaster ride of emotions and terror. While it may be a departure from Chbosky's previous work, it showcases his versatility as a writer. Fans of horror and psychological thrillers will likely find this book to be a compelling and haunting read.

Celebrate 4th July with a free e-book
Less than an hour later, the burgers were sizzling on the grill, Maddy and Lori were bringing salads and relishes out from the kitchen, Becky was contentedly watching TV and the four band members were all catching up with each other, as they sprawled across the sun deck. Rich had taken charge of the BBQ, ordering Jake to stay clear of the smoke. Happy to relinquish the cooking duties, Jake had…

The Curio Chronicles is a contemporary modern slice of life story, based on the life of Uni student Abigail Watson. She is a book nerd looking to find her way into a modern hip and funky publisher, who has a passion and love for all things gothic.
Born and raised in the rural village of Wotton Dursley, a conservative village in southern England, she finds her first year at uni has changed her, and she is well aware that no one at home will approve of her new look. Accompanied by her room mate, and best friend in the world, Jemima Dixon, she has to head home for the Summer, and is terrified. Birch is a wild, liberated, wiccan, naturist, who just happens to be doing her doctorate in sexual dysfunction, and relationships. She is loving, and quite bonkers, and tells it as it is, which can only mean trouble in the village.
The Curio Chronicles follows Abigail’s life, as she arrives home with Birch, and the trouble starts on her arrival, and it chronicles Abby and her small group of friends as they progress through life in a village that shames and bullies them. It is wild, liberated, very funny, sexual at times, and irreverent. The characters will jump off the page they are so believable, and you will find yourself, laughing and giggling as they live their chaotic life together, in opposition to the traditional ways of the villagers. Brilliant and inspiring story, that holds a mirror up to a great deal of modern society today, by Robin John Morgan
The Curio Chronicles craziness continues, in Part Four, this Autumn. The Curio Chronicles, a series of sex and body positivity, contemporary modern tales, by Robin John Morgan. Available to download or purchase in digital and print formats, once published.
The whole of the complete series of Heirs to the Kingdom, Rise of the Raven, Han’s Cottage, and the Curio Chronicles by Robin John Morgan are also available from Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and all online book retailers.

#BookReview It Happened One Summer (Bellinger Sisters #1) by Tessa Bailey ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 #ItHappenedOneSummer is amazing, entertaining, very hot and sexy romance that follows LA socialite, Piper, being sent to a small fisherman’s town, Westport, as a punishment to learn responsibility by running her late father’s dive bar but unexpectedly she finds herself getting connected to her roots and falling for not just the town but grumpy bearded sea captain. The story is about self-discovery, connecting with roots, belongingness, trust, faith, and love. I didn’t exactly like Piper in first few chapters but as story progressed we see many layers in her character and then it’s hard not to love her. What I loved most is it’s not just Piper who developed in this story but also Braden. Supporting characters are also amazing. Hanna and Fox are my favorite. I also loved the sibling relationship. Romance is super sexy, hot, and swoon-worthy and so so perfect. It is well balanced with rest of the story. It’s not just sexy scenes that are in abundance but also emotions, hilarious moments, lovely and romantic moments, and many surprises not like twist and turns but more like characters surprising me. Overall, this is delightful, fun, touching, and swoon-worthy romance with lots of emotions and hot sexy scenes. Swipe to read highlights QOTD - Which is your favorite small town summer romance? . . . . ..... #booksteacupandreviews #BellingerSisters #TessaBailey #Avonbooks #Romance #adultromance #summerread #summerromance #smalltownromance #GrumpySunshinetrope #Indianbookblogger #bookbloggerofinstagram #swoonworthyromance #romancestagram #bookandcandle #openbooks #bookgram #bookaesthetics #bookishphoto #bookphotography #readersofig #bookishflatlay #bookishfeed #booksarelife #bookishlove #readmore #readmorebooks https://www.instagram.com/p/CgPDJt0LdCN/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Book Review: Julieta and the Romeos
Title: Julieta and The Romeos
Author: Maria E. Andreu
Genres:  Contemporary/Romance
Pages: 400
Publisher: Balzer + Bray
Review Copy: ARC by publisher
Availability: Available now
Summary: Julieta isn't looking for her Romeo--but she is writing about love. When her summer writing teacher encourages the class to publish their work online, the last thing she's expecting is to get a notification that her rom-com has a mysterious new contributor, Happily Ever Drafter. Julieta knows that happily ever afters aren't real. (Case in point: her parents' imploding marriage.) But then again, could this be her very own meet-cute?
As things start to heat up in her fiction, Julieta can't help but notice three boys in her real life: her best friend's brother (aka her nemesis), the boy next door (well, to her abuela), and her oldest friend (who is suddenly looking . . . hot?). Could one of them be her mysterious collaborator? But even if Julieta finds her Romeo, she'll have to remember that life is full of plot twists. . . .
Review: I read Julieta and the Romeos the same time as I was reading a heavy tome for work and it was the perfect brain break. The story was engaging and fun, with a little mystery, and a whole lot of “will they/won’t they” thrown in. Maria Andreau wove a number of romantic tropes together that made me question which boy was really going to be endgame. I absolutely loved this aspect of the story because it made me be in the moment with Julieta as she tried to figure out which boy was Happily Ever Drafter and which one to really date.
Julieta’s confusion, no indecision, about which boy she wanted to be with made her somewhat of an unreliable narrator but not in the annoying sense. It was because she was so convinced that one of the “suitors” was the mysterious Happily Ever Drafter that each interaction with her “Romeos” was experienced from that lens. Sometimes this made for hilarious interactions and sometimes I was just frustrated with her character, especially when it was revealed who the mysterious writer was. But then again, Julieta is a teenager and they are often unreliable narrators for their own stories.
On the flip side of the story, Julieta was really using this mystery as a distraction from all the other drama in her life. Her parent’s restaurant survived COVID, but was on the brink of closing and she was taken up their stress. Julieta idolized her parents and their marriage, so to see both struggling really challenged her world view so to compensate she threw herself into the mystery of the writer and which “Romeo” it could be. I felt that for Julieta as sometimes when life is challenging, it’s the fun little quests that don’t mean much in the end that helps us get through.
Lastly, this was the first book, for me, that really dealt with our lives during COVID and the after effects we are still experiencing. Julieta’s abuela doesn’t outright state that Julieta’s grandfather died of COVID, just regrets that her last words to him were something silly over the phone from a nurse holding the phone to him. That one line was a gut punch and really grounded the story in the here and now for me. Julieta references the “zoom year” many times and how her parents really struggled to keep their store open during the lockdown. The tone that Andreu used towards COVID was beautiful in that she acknowledged this trauma event that the world experienced and how our lives have been forever altered.
Julieta and the Romeos was a perfect summer read that had a lot of heart, fun, and romance. It balanced a number of deeper issues skillfully while having a soft sense of whimsy at summer love.

PREY FOR THE DEAD
The sand is soft beneath my feet. I’m sure I’ve found a pleasant treat. A metal door swipes across the sky, removing the sun from the blue sky. Trapped in a replica of my town, I watch the sand become dark brown. My longed-for peace won’t be won since I’ve trusted the wrong one. PREY FOR THE DEAD https://amzn.to/2F1IiI2 http://bit.ly/2XCDuD7

NEW FOR AUTUMN, ANOTHER CURIO ADVENTURE. As VCP go to work with a new book to follow in the footsteps of Rise of the Raven, I will shortly begin the final edit for yet another Curio Adventure to follow on from Curio’s Christmas. The fourth book in the series will see Abigail reach twenty eight years old, and she is maturing, and her life is really starting to change, as is all of the Curio’s lives. Abby is Abby, and getting on with life, although, she feels a challenge is coming from a trusted source, and it could spell very big trouble indeed.
