#sumi got reincarnated
maigo-san · 2 years
Note
Hhmmm interesting. So Yoriichi met a Rengoku, and that kinda went on to Tanjiro meeting Kyojuro (and his family of course) and then the whole reincarnation thing.
So the sun and flame will always meet.
Hhhmmmm I see I see.
😉😉 CW spoilers
.
.
.
.
I love parallels and that is so true! At least, the Rengokus have been shown to be very loyal and supportive even until the end of yoriichi's journey so I can see why the denouement with 🐥🍑 is so satisfying. Also, I like to think that sumi got that athletic ability and stoic personality from yoriichi lmao so it's kinda like they're a mix of these two ships and I think that's so cute haha

hey! i follow u w bnha and i just enjoy ur kny posts and emotion, but could u explain the like "end all"? like I saw u say like theyre dead rn in this future and some ppl r married, but like whats the final group pic of them all? just like the last time were together or r demons like not a thing anymore lmfao i have no reference (ofc only if u feel like answerin! i can just look it up i just like to hear u talk abt the anime u like it is some relatable content my dude
hi !!! omg thank u for the sweet msg, talking about kny makes me so happy AAFKDSF!! u are so nice !!!! aa !!
but YEAH !! so the previous chapter (ch 204) pretty much ended the story for our main cast back in the taisho era (1912-1926 timeframe). at this point, the world is free of demons (except for one demon named yushiro !! he was the healer during the final battle and continues living to paint portraits of tamayo, his mentor. i think hes so funny) and the demon slayer corps officially retires/disbands.
so yeah !! the group pic you see at the end is of all the surviving members before they part ways for the last time!! :””) its so cute AA i love them all so much
Tumblr media
theres not a lot of narration about what happens to most of them (such as uzui and his wives, the ubuyashiki family, kiyo, sumi, naho, etc.) but we end the chapter with nezuko, tanjiro, inosuke, and zenitsu going home together and then fast forwarding like 100 years in the future to current day japan. its implied a few of the characters eventually got married and started families (tanjiro/kanao, inosuke/aoi, etc), so ch.205 introduces their descendants and gives us cute little shots of the og cast as reincarnated versions of themselves. the picture we see above seems to be passed down in the kamado household alongside the hanafuda earrings tanjiro wore AA ;_; i think zenitsu’s great grandson even has an autobiography of his time as a slayer SKSKF but his sister (?) refers to it as science fiction so im not sure if too many people recognize the demon-slayer history or what (or if its just a play on zenitsu’s fantastical character AHAH)
but its such a nice epilogue to end the story on ! like even though we went thru all that suffering and watched beloved characters die left and right, they’re finally allowed to live the happy little lives theyve yearned for. like obanai and mitsuri made a promise before they died to get married in another life and THEY DID !!!!!!!! AAAA they’re married now !! and own a shop together !! im so happy for them .. i love them so much, its what they deserve
Tumblr media Tumblr media
there are references to quite a few characters , but here are some of the most notable ones / my favorites :3c :
rengoku as sumihiko’s (tanjiro’s great grandson’s) school friend
Tumblr media
uzui as a popular gymnast
Tumblr media
makomo, sabito, and giyuu as friends !!!!!!!! WHICH !! KJDSNFKSD WARMS MY HEART !! i dont remember if makomo was apart of the same final selection that giyuu and sabito were, but they’re all linked through their mentor, urokodaki, and u can see that through the little objects theyre holding . im glad the three of them are together again aa :”(
Tumblr media
AND THEN SANEMI AND GENYA AS COPS KAJSKAKJAK they’re so fucking chaotic i love them
Tumblr media
there are a lot more that i havent touched on (i believe kiriya of the ubuyashiki family is the oldest living person @ this point- cool retribution for having their bloodline shortened for centuries. cameos of shinobu, kanae, etc !! woo !!) but its just so sweet and i love this chapter so much . its so silly and fun , i love seeing their faces again. it wouldve been so cool to see some of the demons reincarnated (as their human selves) but i figure maybe them going to hell prevents it or something. or gotouge just didnt have time or space SFSDFKSD
sry for making this longer than it had to be btu i love talking abt them so mcihUSHGSfss. but yeah u got it !! its the last pic the surviving group took together before they went their separate ways. they all lived their lives and then the chapter fast forwards like 100 yrs into the future where this story is just a distant memory 😔😔 th end

KnY ch. 205
So...The ending. Sumihiko and Kanata are Tanjirou’s great grandsons. I don’t know how I feel about Toko and Kanata being lovey-dovey, but it could be explained as favorite cousin -because the idea of incest, not cool with me. Now, either Tanjirou and Kanao did end up together, or their kids did. Kanae and Shinobu were reincarnated - obviously - as did the majority of the pillars, Makomo and Sabito included. Tojuro is definatelly Senjuro’s great-grandson. Murata, Kiyo, Sumi, Naho, Kotetsu, Kanamori, Gotou the Kakushi, Tenma, Haganezuka, Aoba - great-grandsons/daughters. Sanemi and Genya, might also be. Bet you Kiriya is the oldest living person in Japan. (Also, using their names from the Taishou era for those we don’t have their modern era names.)
Yushiro painting Tamayo to keep her memory alive, holding Chachamaru in his arms, who needed a heart, right?
I don’t know how I feel about this, really. I mean, Inosuke had a family and they didn’t keep in touch with them, so Aoba doesn’t even know they exist. If Toko and Kanata are dating, then Tanjirou’s and Nezuko’s families drifted apart the moment they got married and I can’t see that happening.
On the other hand, I get how even if you wanted, your children being friends with your friend’s children is hard, even more so if you live relatively far away. And that friendship passing on to the next three generations? Yeah. Hard is an understatement. So, yeah, easily explainable why so many of Tanjirou’s friends’ descendants are not friendly with his great-grandsons.
But the Kamados and the Agatsumas are blood relatives, so I am a little confused over the dynamics here? Then again, I am comparing with Greece’s culture (is this the right word? views? tradition?) when it comes to families, using mine as a point of reference, so... (If someone knows more about this drop me an info dump in the ask, please.)
Most of the chapter is literally following Sumihiko parkourunning to school, with a brief look on the Agatsuma siblings, running into descendants and reincarnations. Pretty abrupt, it is. Like a quickly put together filler. And it’s the ending of the series. So, yeah. I liked the detail of the photo, next to the framed earings over Tanjirou’s sword, as a homege.
At least now I can focus on my AU completely. (I said like a liar.)

Made a new OC
How this came to be is a friend of mine had this idea of making some sort of isekai story as a joke, but we suddenly got too into it. We had the idea of three main characters in the story
Amai:
The one character that started it all, this was actually by accident a friend and I combined our ideas and made a random character that soon became the main character of our series (we also had to redesign her a bit)
Arthur:
He’s my creation I did 100%, after designing his character, I got way too attached to his design
Sumi:
A third character, my friend 100% made
How it goes is that it’s a girl named Amai gets isekied to a world where every living creature is a hybrid, all of the humans are a mix of a specific animal. Amai is summoned by a god who chose her to have a second chance in this new world, the god sent her to a village in the mountain region where she is reincarnated as a Human-bird hybrid (her animal is a Dove).
Arthur is the second character Amai meets in her journey
The human-animal hybrids actually vary from appearance meaning some of them will have more animal-like traits than the other (think of it as a genetic thing), the less amount of animal-like traits a person can get is just the ears and tail and the most amount of traits they can get is what I can describe is, they have more animal-like features from having fur or feathers on some parts of the body, having body parts of animals (Ex. Arthur’s deer legs and antlers), and they will still have their human appearance (mostly the face and body). Animals in that world, on the other hand, all of the animals are also hybrids but some of the creatures are also a mix of monsters (those are mostly the hostile type).

Hewwo! So when you paired me with Hiroki (btw I absolutely ADORE HIM) you mentioned that there was another guy you were gonna pair me with, who are they? I need to know!!!! Hope you have a wonderful day!!!
Ahhh, I’m glad you like him~!! He’s a new boy and oh. Gosh. I can’t wait to write more things with Ryuu, him, and all the talks of the past they can have. :3c OCs!!!! I love making too many!!!
OKAY, as for the other guy! I felt it a shame that Okami didn’t touch up even further on mythology/Shinto, but I guess this is largely in part to the fact I’ve enjoyed every aspect of their mythology. The kitsune are wonderful, the idea behind lingering spirits like the yuki-onna or gashadokuro are incredible, and I find it really neat that there’s a society built on “if this creature/item lives long enough, it will become sentient, so not only must we treat our animal/item with care, but we must also do away with it quickly.” (Which is absolutely awful in animal terms, as a major pet-lover, but still just...super interesting to me.)
So, with me rambling my head off!! My side muse from @painterofthe-sun...
Tumblr media
Great God Izanagi!(Complete with a more modern FC, to fit the ever-shifting times Amaterasu is in.)
Izanagi was technically already included in Okami, under Nagi, the great warrior of the past who bested True Orochi with help from Shiranui (who was Amaterasu, reincarnated and in wolf form). However, it was also confirmed by Ishaku in a scroll you can find- Land of the Gods- that has him write this:
[...]One day, I was visited by a man who wove for me a strange tale.He said unto me, "The Celestial Plain has met its end".[...]The gods’ spirits, rendered homeless, still inhabit the earth.I try not to think such thoughts when I gaze up at the sky.
And so... Izanagi’s form- relevant to the world of Okami- came to being, with the idea his spirit had become Nagi of the past, but when the Celestial Plain was restored by Amaterasu, so was his true form as a kami.
With all that explained! Now onto the details.
If you want to feel protected and loved...no better than one of the first deities to do so, right? He’s still a little weird about interacting with humans- he tends to be a tad high and mighty over mortal lives- but with a bit of persistent kindness, you’ll get through to him in no time! Especially since you do fit a lot of what he looks for in a partner.
You wanna be a princess? He’s gonna spoil you like one, that’s for sure. You’re gonna have a lot of fine kimonos and/or furisodes in your closet now, made of only the finest material on the Celestial Plain and with the designs you like best...along with a few of his own personal additions. (For things like luck.)
In fact. Being on the Plain would make you feel like royalty enough!! A sprawling estate that is his and his many, many other childrens’ home (from Amaterasu, her brothers, their in-and-out family...and the brush gods themselves) with not only a lavish setting, but also an elegantly crafted garden complete with a rather large pond. A small bridge, so one can stand over it and admire the glittering, ethereal koi. Maybe you two can brew up some tea, get him to help you make lunch (he’s not great, but will try his best!), and have a picnic out there!
Oh, and you like history? This man has been around since the beginning of time...sometimes a little before. (You can’t tell if he’s serious or joking. He never admits to his intentions, either, making it all the more confusing.) There’s a vast library on the Celestial Plain, that has a LOT of recorded history. It’s mostly for Japan and in the ever shifting language- along with regional keynotes- but there’s definitely more that involves other continents. He knows it best, so if you ever want to read about something specific, he’d be more than happy to help you out.
You rambling is also...rather nice to him. Izanagi has had a lot of time doing nothing, since his daughter took up the leadership role from him. So getting to lay around and listen to whatever interests you... It’s nice. Makes him happy. Sing for him? He’ll surely be lulled off to sleep....and won’t mind a bit if you draw him. Will definitely ask to see it, though. He likes admiring your work and giving tips; he’s not much of an artist, himself, but living around so many for so long gave him the eye of what to help you with. (You probably become friends with Amaterasu over this, who knows art far better than her father does. Prepare to learn ukiyo-e...and sumi-e, if you’re up for it!)
While he can be a jerk to others and sometimes say some...rather callous things in the misguided attempt of “best interests”, either bringing it up to him and explaining it or saying that you’re having a bad time will immediately shut this man up. He’s...still a flawed being. Making mistakes and missing the guidance of someone else; he was at his best when with Izanami, and without her, he’s become quite lost and distant from others. This is a change back into old ways and he’s....nervous, but trusts you.      So when you’re falling apart and feel horrible, he’ll be there. He wants to be there- almost desperately- because he’s got his own issues and he’ll be damned if he keeps making them.
If he can bring you up out of that dark place, if he can live up to the redemption his daughter has always wanted from him, and if you could stay with him... Then maybe he could understand why gods so often fall for mortals, despite the large distance in lifespan between them.

Previous years: 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016 It is again time for the annual roundup! It feels this was not a particularly good animanga year in terms of amount of series consumed, but when it comes to enthusiasm Attack on Titan has single handedly offered more excitement than anything else in the past... I dunno, 3 or 4 years. Attack on Titan
Tumblr media
Finally ended up giving this a proper chance, mostly by accident, and I'm still in that hole. I'd say that a sizeable amount of my appreciation for this manga comes from how it stands out from all the other action shounen I've read in terms of how it deals with common shounen characters, themes and tropes, but as of late I've learnt to appreciate more how it stands on its own as well. Also as upset as I am that I'm so late to the party at least catching up to happened at a relatively good spot, since I found it was easier for me to get into the new arc without the main cast when I just had gotten some 50 chapters worth of material with my favourites. And with the new developments the wait was definitely worth it, even if I'm as thirsty as everyone else for the rest of the main cast's new designs.
Awards given: Best manga, Best boy (Eren), Best OP that I didn't actually see (didn't watch the anime outside listening to some music), Best friendship (Eren and Historia), Best mentor (Levi)
Made in Abyss
Tumblr media
Heard this got a lot of praise so I decided to check it out too, knowing only that it's supposedly pretty grim. At first it seemed like just a "plucky kids go on an adventure" kind of show, even if the darker elements were always there (like how the main characters embarked on their journey fully aware that they won't be coming back). The upper layers of the titular Abyss felt pretty easy for their rumoured danger level, but when things finally went south they did so spectacularly. Very bad things happen to children in this show! Overall I really liked the Abyss as a location, the characters were great and especially the female characters were way above average (as in, pretty much got treated equally with the dudes).
Awards given: Best anime, Best OP I actually saw
Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid
Tumblr media
This one I watched just because it looked cute. Which it was I guess, KyoAni's animation is always a pleasure to watch, but I got little else out of it. Kanna teeters between actually cute and manipulative-and-kinda-disgusting.
Awards given: Best cute animation, Best side boy (Fafnir)
Spirit Circle
Tumblr media
Finally bothered to get into another manga from one of my favourite authors, and it was definitely worth it. The story revolving around the two protagonists reincarnating in different periods and often ending up killing one another was definitely something more unique than usual, the plot was well thought out, and the character work was just as great as I had learned to expect from the author (plus the female characters don't suck). On top of it all there is the strange calm and positive atmosphere despite sometimes grim subject matter that Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer also had. The art still isn't that amazing and sometimes the space-time talk gets way over my head but otherwise an excellent read.
Awards given: Best girl (Kouko (and iterations)), Best laughs, Best romance
One Piece
Tumblr media
Not sure if it's because of the quality of the manga itself or because Attack on Titan dethroned One Piece from the top spot, but my interest in OP has waned a little in the past year. I haven't been able to get into Sanji's family drama, and the stuff with Big Mom has raised some good expectations but so far hasn't quite managed to live up to them. However my interest has only decreased in relation to the series itself, and compared to everything else I've consumed OP still stands tall, and Best Bunny Carrot even got to do something so I'm good I guess?
Awards given: Best side girl (Carrot)
The magical girl corner:
Doki Doki! Precure
Tumblr media
I thought this was from last year but apparently no. So here it is, my least favourite magical girl series of all time! Might also be the least favourite anime in general (judgement pending)! Those interested can find a long rant here, but the tl;dr is that the show revolves around glorifying the main character who has no flaws, has no character development since she's amazing from the start, gets all the other characters' personal storylines be about her too, gets the story to bend so that she's always right in the end, and so on. Ugh! Though I must say that at least that in a way the series was interesting in how blindly and confidently it assumes everyone in the audience has the default assumption that the main character is the most amazing thing to ever grace this earth with her presence.
Awards given: Worst anime, Worst girl (Mana), Worst “romance"(whatever it is when everyone proclaims their 'love' for Mana), Worst friendship (Mana being the center of everyone's universe)
Kira Kira Precure a la Mode
Tumblr media
Tried watching an ongoing Precure series this time, and while I'm still some episodes behind it could be a lot worse. Overall a really lackluster season and suffers from the same problems as the other Precure seasons I've seen: generic, unambitious, noncommittal, repetitive... There's very little going on with the plot, and while I do like some of the characters it's hard to care when the show is so adamant at doing nothing interesting with them. However it's still the best out of the Precure seasons I've seen so far properly, which probably says more about the other two's (HapiCha and DokiDoki) quality. And I do have to commend KiraKira for sticking to the sweets theme; at least it's clearly about something.
I've also watched some Go! Princess Precure which blows the other three Precure I've seen out of the water, but I haven't made very far. Hopefully I'll be able to finish it next year.
Yuuki Yuuna is a Hero: Washio Sumi chapter / Hero chapter
Tumblr media
Why is it always the dark magical girl shows that try anything new and interesting!? I find that the new YuYuYu stuff has had some really clunky and awkward direction, stock characters, limited animation and ham-fisted drama, but I still appreciate what it's doing with its plot. Also gotta love the veteran magical girl's reaction to the new magic system which allows them to trade defence barriers for +1000% power: "lol back in my day we didn't have any shields in the first place!"
Awards given: Best magical girl outfits
Also finished Flip Flappers (final verdict: cool premise and looks interesting, execution a little uneven but still worth watching), Punchline (an uneven but still interesting little thing with great character designs), Uta Kata (a slow moving dark magical girl show with some nice ideas, good outfit designs, poor animation and awkward fanservice) and Pop in Q (mostly forgettable upbeat magical girl thing; though it did manage to hold interest for its short length).
Awards given: Biggest WTF (Uta Kata's poorly implemented fanservice), Best character designs (Punchline)
I also watched the second season of Hibike Euphonium, but I can't remember if it was at the end of 2016 but either way I don't have a lot to say about it.
Animal Crossing Pocket Camp

Good old Animal Crossing in mobile form, there's not much else to it and there's very little to do, but I'm a sucker for collecting and the leisurely and friendly atmosphere is worth it. Seeing Tom Nook ask for real money this time was definitely the highlight even if I'd never pay for a mobile game myself.
Awards given: Biggest Time-Waster (but I still keep playing it)
I've also kept playing Pokemon Go but there's not a lot to say about it, like can you add some new gameplay stuff to it please? Also did not get Ultra Sun/Moon. I didn't care too much for Alola and most of the new content seems to be about the Ultra stuff which is unlikable to me by default; I've never been into the legendary/mythical/ultra/save the world from apocalypse aspect of the games, like just let me train my pets to become the very best like no on ever was.
Not a lot of negative awards this year it seems. The bad stuff I read was just forgettable instead of bad in a funny way or so bad it's fun to hate it.
Plans for 2018:
Finally watch the Attack on Titan anime to catch up with the rest of the fandom and prepare for my favourite arc getting adapted
Finish with the mostly disappointing Digimon Adventure Tri.
Watch the newest Precure as it airs, finish Go! Princess and at least one of the earlier seasons
More magical girls! Maybe finally check out Cardcaptor Sakura Clear Card arc, finish Matoi the Sacred Slayer (which has been on my list since 2016...), Pretear, series where the magical girl is a side character (Concrete Revoutio, Samurai Flamenco, re:Creators, Invaders of the Rokujyoma!?)
Finally watch Neon Genesis Evangelion (been working on it since 2005) and finish Gurren Lagann
Finish reading Neuro
Read Sengoku Youko, NaruTaru and Rozen Maiden
maybe get a Switch and the new Zelda and Mario games for it
Maybe I'll get to at least a fourth of these...?

Adventures in Literary Criticism (2014)
Posted by Nacchi on behalf of young Cody. Ostensibly.
Ohayo gozaimatsu guys, Cody Uzumaki Kurosaki here with some literary criticism (yeah I'm a nerd xD)! The shady person who emails me sometimes asked me for my address, and when I told them I got a FREE book with a note saying I should review it. How cool is that! I should give people my address more often. So, here goes! I will ganbarimasu!
Let's start with the cover. It's so sugoi (cool for you amerika-hitos)
Tumblr media
There are like two katanas. I think more books should have katanas on the cover, like if Kokoro or Snow Country or No Longer Human had rad katanas maybe I would have read more than the first five pages. Spring Snow didn't even have a katana, and I heard its author was a samurai irl (plus it sucked, I read a whole chapter and there were no sword fights so I gave up. Worst samurai evar lol) Japanese "classic" books in general are dumb though, you've gotta read the good stuff like Sword Art Online. Anyway, back to this book.
Here, I'll "hit" you with the summary:
Reincarnated samurai Rileigh Martin may have just graduated high school, but she feels like there isn’t much to celebrate. Her boyfriend Kim doesn’t remember who she is, her past-life enemy Whitley has returned, and her future is unclear.
When Kim suddenly regains his memories, Rileigh is overjoyed—until she realizes that Sumi, a powerful, reincarnated ninja, has also regained her memories. In the aftermath of Sumi’s attack, Rileigh’s ki powers are draining away and the Network unexpectedly starts hunting her. With time running out, Rileigh must track down Sumi before her powers completely vanish and she’s forever seen as the enemy.
I think this is probably the best book I've ever read. I mean, it's a katana novel! I really like how the author makes it about samurais, but also manages to make the protagonist white and in modern america so I can relate. I like alot of Japanese stuff but the main character is usually Asian and it's like what about me? I'm a white student and it's not fair that I don't get representation! I tried to protest this once outside my local Sakura Hibachi and Sushi hoping that a mangaka would see me and realize my point, but they asked me to leave.
At first I thought it kind of sucked that the main character was a girl because as a boy I didn't think I could understand her, but in retrospect it's okay because the female characters are totally hot. I'm kind of progressive so I think girls with katanas are sexy. I don't know how Rileigh is holding her katana on the cover, but I think it's part of her ki.
I love the plotline about Rileigh's ki power draining. I don't know what I would do if my ki drained. I wouldn't be able to execute my strongest moves. So, I felt bad for Rileigh. I've never read a story with amnesia in it either, and I think it's really cool and unique. The author is also really clever because I looked it up and Sumi means ink, so it's like Ink the dark black ninja. I'm going to use that as symbolism in the manga I'm drawing at some point, so arigato Gibsen-san!!1 :P
As someone whose read the entirety of Naruto and Bleach, I think it's fair to say I know a ton about books. So I'll rate this book from 1-10, 1 being something gay like The Great Gatsby (more like the gay gatsby lol! I'm not homophobic though, I love yaoi) and 10 being Attack on Titan (sooooo gooooood :) ). I will rate this book, Shinobi, 10/10 Golden Nekos! And give it the Cody Uzumaki Kurosaki Platinum Writing Jutsu Award! I hope you enjoyed this book review. I would like to tell my fans: Stay cool and believe it! And with that, I'm signing out. Sayonara shimasu!

i realize that being a woman is a lot                                             like being a planet—i can’t decide                                      what my gravity attracts. i am as helpless                                            as i am powerful. i am very powerful.
born in tokyo, yukiko grew up known as a fiery daughter unconventional to the standards placed upon the typical japanese/korean family. though her mother and birth father were korean, her mother left the man before giving birth, instead moving to tokyo (a place of which she always dreamed of moving). it was there that her mother met  katsuo, a man willing to provide and ready to be a father unlike the previous man.
what differentiated her from conventional daughters was nothing short of compiled qualities that her parents doted on her for despite the disapproval of strangers. she was loud and bounced around like a ball of light, cheeks round with enthusiasm.
growing up, her personality only blossomed from there. by the age of five they’d welcomed a healthy baby sister which took the name of mei, a sibling for her to admire in the light that poured from window sills. she swore in those moments growing with her baby sister that she’d never been happier – she couldn’t be happier.
years when by as she flourished into a teenager, getting along with her parents without much trouble and maintaining a decent home life. her family was the perfect balance of a mix of adoring qualities, and she was content. until her mother got pregnant again.
of course it didn’t seem so bad aside from the age gap. the pregnancy was an accident, yukiko already of the age of fourteen while her mei was the age of nine, but the two remained both ecstatic yet skeptical. welcoming a baby sister so late in their lives was not only riveting, but nerve-wracking, the family unaware of the issues to surface.
her mother went into labor nine months later, kiko ready to welcome her new baby sister natsumi into the world. while the delivery went over well, adjusting at home felt different this pregnancy.
her mother had begun experiencing questionable syndromes, yet she insisted that the nurses ensured her that prenatal sickness was common ( and her mother was a strong woman, never wanting to appear as if she was overreacting to mere cold symptoms ) so she insisted that a hospital visit wasn’t necessary. within mere days however, the sudden and excessive bleeding accompanied by a high fever and shivers that left her unable to communicate, it was clear to her family that there was something wrong.
after rushing her to the hospital, they’d discovered that she was entering a drastic drop in blood pressure and heart rate, something of which eventually spiraled into septic shock. it was only a matter of time before multiple organs started to fail, and her mother passed away.
her death was something that shocked yukiko’s family immensely, her father entering depression as her bubbly personality dropped. she was bitter at the world, a more importantly, shifted the blame undeservingly to her younger sister, sumi. at such a young age, she couldn’t understand why her and mei’s births had been fine, yet sumi’s came at the cost of her mothers life.
she began to act out, rebelling into the age of fifteen to try and feel something opposed to the emptiness that encompassed her chest. her actions, however, only stirred tensions in the household, their verbal fights nothing short of ugly and uncalled for as he quickly grew fed up of her actions and shipped her off to st. augustine, florida to live with her uncle.
yukiko was miserable. only sixteen, she was abandoned in a city unkind to those with no direction. significantly smaller than the comforts of a bustling tokyo, she became a foreigner stranded in unfamiliarity, her uncle a strict cop who was determined to set her back in line.
the move only upset her more, only encouraging her to act out even more. she took advantage of the soft bone that he’d never admit to having for his niece, her uncle often getting her out of the trouble that she found herself in (i.e. getting her out of parking tickets, keeping her from the day long cell holds she was dancing towards ). it was as if she wanted to get arrested because the thrill of getting caught – the thrill of being shown that someone cared enough to let her take the punishments she was warranting instead of weaseling her out of them.
she was frustrated – a broken girl with clipped wings that knew english but refused to speak it in florida just to piss people off. a loud nineteen year old despite the fact that her actions did more talking than her words. she searched for the happiness in the empty mouths of strangers, angry at the world until she was offered a ticket to busan. it was a move her family had made in the years between lost contact, a chance to see the people that had so willingly tossed her away ( though that wasn’t the point. they had tried to keep in contact with her, but she refused. they hadn’t spoken in 4 years ).
so she took it. showed up with cold eyes in another unfamiliar city that somehow felt like home. mei felt distant and sumi had grown to be five, an unfamiliar face that shied away at her tense gaze. she could barely bring herself to meet her fathers gaze.
after establishing that her uncle couldn’t deal with her ( unless he wanted to be fired for how many times he saved her ass ), she was sent to korea to move back in with her family, another unwarranted move that left her distressed. she felt like she was fending for herself with people that’d grown to be strangers. luckily she was never home, out with unfamiliar faces that brought her comfort. she kept up acting out until one night where she was caught up with the wrong people at the wrong time.
thought she hadn’t done anything, the people flipped the script on her and got her taken away in police custody. thrown into a cell for a day or two was enough to terrify her and snap her back into reality. with her father bitter with having to pay a bail amount for her, she realized that with 20 years old fastly approaching, she had to cope with what had happened in her past instead of internalizing it into inexcusable actions.
she seeked help of a therapist that helped her get her life back on the right track, and yukiko with time began to grow out of her rebellion and back into her own skin. taking some time to rediscover who she is, she began to redevelop her relationships with her siblings and father before years later deciding to apply for college in seoul. with an interest in journalism and aspiring to become a documentary producer, she livin her best days in her little apartments now years later in seoul !!

Red Thread - P. SH AU
pairing(s): seonghwa/oc
genre: social media au, fluff, angst, strangers to lovers au, college au, fantasty elements, past life/ reincarnation au, fated lovers au, playboy!seonghwa, hwa is a bit of a dick at first, sumi is still a nervous baby like in the sk8terboy au, lots of pinning on hwa’s end later on bc i’m soft
summary: Park Seonghwa—business major, son of the CEO to Park Corp. and an overall cold-hearted playboy dickhead—has to help his father’s company by finding a new graphic designer, after firing the last one, for the company’s upcoming project he’s tasked to work on in order prepare him for the future (and maybe highkey work on his people skills). So when Yeosang mentions a particular graphic design student in mind, he wasn’t expecting his world to turn upside down by a red thread.
author’s note: rip, Yusung’s part got cut off by accident, basically he said “You’re talking to an indie game developer ya know lmao” sorry. This is obviously the next day, but I’ll do a bonus extra to give detail into how Seonghwa survived after he yeeted into the back room from the last chapter. Also next chapter might be another fully written chapter.
side note: should I make a taglist for Red Thread? I have someone asking and if there’s anyone interested just send in an ask and I’ll add it
