INTRODUCTORY POST! (long post ahead but please do give it a read)
I'm a third year med student from India who's also planning to start step 1 prep(have been for a while😶) I will be posting (hopefully) daily snippets of my study sessions and student life..
The inspiration to start a blog struck a few years ago, while I was watching the movie Julie and Julia.
I had started a studyblr soon after but I have been unable to post there anymore because I have recently come to the realisation that one of my close friends did not respect my wishes for privacy was keeping tabs of my blog without my knowledge.. I'm not sure since how long, but once I found out, I just completely lost interest in posting there..
To me, tumblr was a place to just be myself and get to know you wonderful people and a time to be away from my usual circle.. I'm an introvert myself and so having a space that I called my mine meant a great deal to me, and to know that it was violated by someone close really got to me..
So this is a fresh start, and it was a difficult decision, because that was a blog I really held close to my heart but I suppose all good things come to an end..
Few of my favorite studyblrs who have always inspired me to do better - @myhoneststudyblr @a-young-doctors-journey @ontrackmind @medemedemed @medicineinside @starrystvdy @studyblr @eintsein @lee-sarahh @emmastudies @medcury @studyquill @studylustre @studydiaryofamedstudent @academedical @academiix @galina @usmlestar

Here is my daily study routine.
How to find the perfect study routine?@studyblr @studydiaryofamedstudent @somisi @dangguu
I set a goal to study (at least) 10 pages per day. By studying, I mean I go through the book, outline the information in notes, and memorize the essential concepts, ideas, and details so I can use them.
I take one hour to do this. Some people study 10 pages in less time. Others take more time. On average I use about 1 hour for 10 pages. This time includes reading, note-taking, and understanding and memorizing.
Here’s my routine:
✍️I outline the chapter at the start of a new chapter. This rough outline will be used during the rest of the time I study this chapter. Usually, this takes about 5 to 10 minutes for 50 pages.
✍️I read each page (or section, depending on the length of it).
✍️Important information is added to my outline AFTER I read the page
✍️When I need more information, google that, re-read the page, or use other sources of information. I add that to the outline as well. This way I create notes that can be used independently of the book.
✍️I do this for all 10 pages.
✍️At the end of the session, I use the information, re-think it, or write about it to make it stick more. I can also take this time to simply memorize so I have it available even without my notes.
So here’s what I would like you to do next…
Actions to take to create your study routine
Remember that a study routine is something that helps you when studying. It removes doubt about what to do. It helps you to methodically dissect a book🙂
✍️Take the basic study routine above and use it.
✍️Fine-tune the routine to help you the most (mix things up if that is better for you)
✍️When you have any questions about how to use it in your own study sessions, let me know.
Using a study routine takes the guesswork from your study sessions. You can focus on your book again. This removes stress from at least one part of your studying.
Also, you will make much better use of the sparse study time you have. You will focus easier and faster when you study.
I think all of this will help you to become a much more efficient student. Start using a study routine, and become a smart adult learner!

new studyblr
HI! I’m Hanna, and this is my studyblr!!. I plan to be really active in this blog, therefore I can’t wait to look forward to be in this community. Here is some info about me :)
Major: American Degree Program (currently) | Sociology (in degree)
Goal: To be as productive as possible. Ace all my subjects and got into a prestigious school in the States.
A bit about me: I’m from Malaysia, I’m 17 (turning 18 next month!) I love creating creative makeup looks in my meantime. I want to learn music and producing in the future. This maybe seems a little bit dreamy, but I would like to run a vlog-Youtube channel and be a song producer (hehe)
Fun facts: I got a green-blue belt in Taekwondo. I actually wanted to study in Korea, more specifically in Ewha Womans University or Yonsei University, and also got TOPIK level 2 (since they separate TOPIK 1 and TOPIK 2). I initially wanted to take TOPIK II this year, but I got offered a sponsorship by a major company in my country to study Sociology in USA. Given my interest in social sciences and society, I accepted the offer. Now I’m preparing for my university application.
Studyblrs I look up to: um... this is hard. But I remember vividly when I used to run an old studyblr before, I really like @studyblr, @emmastudies, @studyign and @studydiaryofamedstudent. I look forward to see and meet more studyblrs in the future!! :))
I guess, that is all from me. Thank you for reading, see you guys soon!! :)

Hi! I’m Hajar. I’ve been here for 2 years but have been inactive for over a year so I thought I’d reintroduce myself (: !
About me:
My parents are from Morocco
I live in Amsterdam
I’m a senior this year
I tutor two children 6x a week! Quite intense but I love tutoring.
I’m 17 years old
I speak Moroccan, Arabic, Dutch, English, and a little bit of German, Spanish and French!
What I love:
Definitely Netflix: I’m currently obsessed with Friends and Lucifer!
Traveling, I love going to new countries and discovering wonderful places. Last year I’ve been to Croatia, Italy, Hungary, and Austria!
Make-up has a big place in my heart. I enjoy buying luxury make-up and taking the time to take care of myself.
I’m a huge foodie! Love trying new food and cuisines. I spend way too much money on food.
I love listening to R&B music. The playlist Are&Be on Spotify is my fav.
Goals:
This year is my final year and at this moment my average grade is a 7,0! I’m really happy with that and would love to maintain that or get an even higher average.
I want to study International Business Law at Leiden University combined with another study! I’m crossing my fingers that there is a possibility to do this.
I just want to stay motivated and get through this year! Around October I hit a really rough patch and lost all my motivation and let my grades slip.
I mainly want to post about self-care and studying!
Classes I’m taking:
Dutch
English
Spanish
Math
Economics
Philosophy
Geography
History
Studyblrs that inspired me and I love :
@studyblr / @emmastudies / @studyign / @studyquill/ @rhubarbstudies / @academiix / @intellectys / @tbhstudying / @studylustre / @estudiear / @obliviatestudies / @sprouht-studies / @studydiaryofamedstudent
Follow me if you like and you’re an active studyblr! I’m always looking for other great blogs and people (:

I have a really bad habit of procrastinating everything. I feel like its gonna be the death of me, how do I stop procrastination? what kind of motivation is the best?
Hi! Boy, I’ve been there - here’s a list of resources that may help you beat that procrastination:
Apps that will help you get your shit done
Staying motivated
Anti procrastination masterpost by @elkstudies
How to stop procrastinating by @studydiaryofamedstudent
6 ways to avoid procrastination by @ivystudying
Productivity and Procrastination by @mystudypencil
Overcoming Procrastination by @studious-simplicity
Types of procrastination and how to deal with them by @emmastudies
Writer’s Block as recommended in this post by @studytothe97
How to stop procrastinating by @ashleigh-studies
Focus Timer as recommended by @we-get-shit-done
There’s no one step fits all approach to managing procrastination. It’s going to happen, many many many times - whether it be in the context of study or work.
Sometimes, I think rest - removing yourself from the situation works, particularly if it’s a short term issue. Finding new ways to do the same old shit, essentially.
If it is a long term issue - something that keeps recurring for years after years, I really think it’s time to take a step back and consider your options. Perhaps the mere act of procrastination is hinting at something deeper - (and no, I don’t mean that “it’s telling me I’m A LAZY FOOL GDI”) - a career change, a field change, disinterest in what you’re doing, dissatisfaction/ distraction in other areas of your life.
And in the end, managing procrastination is largely dealing with the guilt that comes with procrastination.
So to that end, let me tell you: it’s normal to procrastinate sometimes.
We’re only human.
Human.
Not robots.

Studyblr Introduction
It’s been a few weeks and I haven’t done one of these yet so it’s probably about time!
About me
My name is Romy, I’m a 21 year old student from the Netherlands. This means English is not my native language. Even though I feel like I’m doing well, I would like to become much better at it so feel free to send me a (kind) message if I mess up the English language. I made this studyblr to give me extra motivation and feel less guilty while procrastinating every once in a while!
My study
I’m a history major and these are my classes this semester:
History of representative government
French revolution
History of Russia
The prosecution of Dutch Jews in WO II and the consequences
Study of Islam
Philosophy of science
Digital history
I take a few extra classes so it’s going to be a busy year!
Extra
I like to do a lot of things! But right now I’m spending most of my time on these things:
Spending time with my housemates (I’ve got 14 of them!)
Partying (probably more than most studyblrs)
Writing for a dutch journal
Writing in general (yes, I want to write a book one day)
My favourite studyblrs/tumblrs
@emmastudies @post--grad @wittyhistorian @platosnotes @fiercelittlestudyblr @getshitdonetbh @theologianstudies @mattystudies @liberalartssociety @studystory @studydiaryofamedstudent @caffeinebooks @historian-wannabe @elkstudies

Hi y’all! It’s been almost two months since I have moved into my dorm and started college! My roommate and my suitemates are all wonderful, beautiful people. My college classes are, well, challenging, but I think that after 7 weeks of school, I am finally getting the hang of things. I also broke down and got a moleskin journal! I love it! I’m trying now to get my November spread up because in the next few weeks I am going to be incredibly busy.
I have more hearing loss in my right ear than I did two weeks ago, which is super scary right now. I have a CT scan next Thursday to rule out a recurrence of my tumor, but my ENT thinks that it’s just the hole in my ear getting bigger. If there isn’t a tumor, and it’s just the hole, I’m looking at either getting a hearing aid at the age of 19, which could help bring my hearing all the way back to 100% (which I haven’t had in almost 9 years) or I’ll be getting a surgery around winter break to close up the hole. The problem with the surgery would be that it would block off the Eustachian tube, which is what caused the tumor in the first place. Please pray for me!
I also have 5 exams next week, and I think I’m handling the stress pretty well. I say that in the hopes that I don’t get super anxious right before any of those tests.
Regardless of any of these high priority topics, I’m still going to go have dinner tonight with one of my bible study leaders tonight, before our meeting! I think that it will be fun.
Love, Omi
