There is a song that describes Steve, Natasha, and Bucky's relationship so well it is almost like it was written for them. That song is Gone, Gone, Gone by Phillip Phillips. Imagining that it is being sung by Steve, the first verse is to Natasha, the second verse is to Bucky, and then the first half of the third verse is to Bucky, and the second half to Natasha.

It is nice to have a song that so wonderfully fits their relationship.

A lot of fans thought the woman at the end of CATFA was Sharon which would've made Sharon the first person Steve saw in the present day. They could've had some screentime together in The Avengers setting up for them eventually becoming a couple after CATWS. It's not perfect and the MCU did a better job accidently implying Stucky, SteveNat and StuckyNat but it would've been better than what we got and given Sharon more screen time. - ash

Yeah, I probably would never have shipped it or anything (sorry I hate straight ships TT_TT) but at least it would've made SENSE. it could've been BUILT UP. The complete lack of care for female characters is what leads to every relationship feeling flat and unbelievable, because the women aren't characters with their own agency and story, they're just. Vessels. It's like every movie they're like 'SHIT we forgot to add a het romance!' and they throw a dart at a board of their 3 female characters and pick one. pick one from the beginning and stick with it!!! why does steve kiss peggy AND nat AND sharon and in the end he time travels back to be with peggy? It's because they didn't care!

Can you do a headcannon on what it would be like to be in a poly relationship with Natasha, Bucky, and Steve?

A/N: Yes!! I absolutely can!! My poly ass is LIVING for this!!! Yes there's a chart, I set aside time for your laughter, don't worry. Also, this reader is female but as per usual, not particularly gendered.

CW: none! pure fluff!

First, a quick word about what this polycule looks like in my mind. As much as you love Steve, you always felt less connected to him than Bucky or Nat. Natasha and Bucky feel very connected to each other, what with the whole Red Room thing, and although Natasha and Steve are close, they just don't "click" the same way that Natasha does with you and Bucky or that Steve clicks with Bucky. So although you're all four together, you and Natasha aren't as close to Steve. That leaves us with a chart looking something like this:

Bucky and Steve have just sort of always been together, ever since the 40's, even though it was basically unspoken before. They made it formal when Tony asked them if they were dating awhile back. They both looked at each other and decided "yeah, I guess that's what this is, sure."

Natasha and Bucky's relationship, on the other hand, has always been... interesting. However, they understand each other in ways that nobody else can. More on this later.

You, on the other other hand don't have some decades-long history with the others, but that doesn't mean they love you any less. Sometimes they think they love you more because of it.

Natasha was the one who asked you out, and you were a stuttering, blushing, happy mess as you nodded your head.

She's the sweetest girlfriend you could ever ask for, by the way.

Bucky approaches Natasha away on her own one night when they've gone out for drinks together.

"You wanna date me?" she asks.

"No, I wanna date you and y/n," Bucky corrects. "If you're both okay with it, that is."

"Well, what about Steve?" she asks.

"I've brought it up in a vague sense. He doesn't seem to have much of an opinion on it, honestly. He likes you and y/n both, but I don't know if he's ever thought about either of you romantically," Bucky scratches the back of his neck.

"Well, I'll talk to my y/n, you talk to your Steve, and we'll reconvene after, alright hot-shot?" she asks, patting his chest. He must've had too much to drink.

But later that night, laying in bed beside you, she gives it some more thought.

"Baby, are you awake?" she asks.

"Mhm," you hum. "What's up, Natty?" you ask, rolling over to look at her. She starts playing with your hair as she begins to speak.

"What do you think about adding someone, maybe two someones, to our relationship, dekta?" she asks. You furrow your brows, and although it's dark, it doesn't go unnoticed by the spy.

"Well, I guess it would depend on who," you say, thinking about who it might be.

"Bucky," she says. "And potentially Steve." You prop yourself up on one elbow and look at her. She props herself up too. "What?"

"I'm just surprised, is all," you say. "What made you think of it?"

"He asked me tonight," she says nonchalantly. "When we were at the bar. I told him I'd talk to you," she explained.

"And you're sure he meant both of us, not just you?"

"Now, don't talk like that, dekta!" she chides, laying back down to pull you onto her chest. You laugh a little. "You are so amazing and precious. Anybody would be lucky to date you!" she tells you. You roll your eyes and blush, letting her kiss the top of your head.

"Alright, alright! I yield!" you laugh.

"But... what do you think?" she asks.

"I think... I think I really like Bucky," you turn your head to lay more comfortably on her. "And I think I like Steve, too," you say quietly.

"So is that a yes?" she says with a smile you can hear in her voice. You nod against her. "Good. I'm glad," she hums. "Now go to sleep. It's late. I'll be right here the whole time," she assures you, just as she does every night.

...

Eventually, you all move in together, even buying the biggest mattress you can find and all the things to go with it. Generally you sleep, from left to right in the bed: Steve, Bucky, You, Natasha. It's a squeeze, but you all make it work.

Bucky does the cooking, but you help him most of the time. Steve does most of the cleaning. Natasha does the laundry, then you do most of the folding and putting away. With two ex-US soldiers, a Red Room graduate, and a SHIELD agent, you four keep the place running very well.

Every Tuesday is movie night, every Thursday is game night, and every Friday you guys meet up with the rest of the team. Other nights are spent lazily, sometimes with friends, sometimes on your own, sometimes out, sometimes in. But you never feel bored or alone or anything else.

Oddly enough, you never feel crowded, either. You just feel... home. And it's wonderful.

Bucky, Steve, and Natasha feel it too. It's comforting to know there will always be someone there for you, that you never have to do anything alone. There will always be someone to make you laugh or to hold you when you cry.
