I don't know who needs to hear this, but you can just stop scrolling whenever. Nobody is forcing you to keep going deeper and deeper into your home feed and wasting more and more time as you spend a few moments to be upset at one thing or goggling over a piece of art or having an internal smile at a random meme, all of which you'll forget within the hour.
There's something you're putting off doing. I know that. Maybe it's a project you want to do, maybe it's a game you want to play, maybe it's something around the house you have kept putting off. If you're reading this, then stop scrolling and ask yourself why you're still scrolling. If you're looking for something, look it up with the search tool or something similar. If you're not sure why you keep scrolling, then you should log off for a while, go do whatever you're putting off, and once you're done see if you really want to come back or if it's just your brain craving that instant dopamine hit again.

STOP
This is a warning from Akane Tendo! If you keep doomscrolling, she’s gonna beat you up! I suggest you take a break, get something to drink, and stretch your arms and legs! You can always come back later, but if you don’t stop and take care of yourself, you’re gonna regret it!

unironically tho, you need to fill your life with nature and exercise and reading and crafting and cooking and physically engaging with the world around you. the key to happiness is not in your computer screen, especially not if most of your time is spent looking at bad opinions and arguing with people. it sounds so stupid but you are an animal that needs enrichment. so take your meds, go outside or at least look outside and turn off the computer and phone more often. I promise you'll feel better.

someone had the nerve to dm me the following on twitter when i started sharing news about gaza: "stick to art this makes me uncomfortable".
as it should. it's a genocide. it is far more important to spread awareness of what's happening in palestine than to be mindful of your feelings and "stick to art". i refuse to turn a blind eye to the massacre and do nothing because god forbid the news of it ruin someone's day. you and i are incredibly lucky to be in this position. these people are going through hell every single day. this is the least i can do to help. ( actually here's a list of actions you the reader can take. mostly for people in the US, includes a list of protests around the world )
don't come crying to me about how i participate in this, fuck off and block me. maybe do some self-reflection while you're at it.

finding out a creator you used to love is an abuser is so disheartening. seeing people support and defend them feels disgusting
