Woman who falls in forbidden love with a handsome man across the river, has three kids with him, and has the children’s paternity be applied to a completely different man to ensure the innocent kids wouldn’t be called slurs by their entire close-knit town? Who eventually has to make their kids take a difficult journey to their father’s house in dangerous conditions? And both I’ve seen framed as bad for their choice, but in completely different ways? Hell yeah.

Been lurking and reading Warrior Cat blogs again, like bonefall, and got whiplashed by the fact that we got two whole women in nearly the same situation except one is exiled because the leader of her entire town was pissed that she lied about the paternity of her babies (making said babies leave during a hellacious storm with their mother) and the other didn’t want a prophesied evil asshole to become leader and she couldn’t stop him with kids (making the choice to bring her babies out into a hellacious winter to their father).

Eweweg. There are enough parallels it’s a little crazy, because it’s definitely unintentional by the writers. And, no, I’m not saying Mapleshade and Bluefur are alike in character, because they’re really not. It’s just that they both had Forbidden Kids™ at Political Times™ with their Main Enemy™, lied about who their husbands were, and were forced to bring their children to their fathers because of The Prophecy™, ending in tragedy. And yet it was still different.

I’m not necessarily justifying or demonizing either of the characters (I don’t even read these books anymore, lmfao), I’m just saying it’s fascinating for what really, really seems like something unintentional.

Graystripes kits paddle in the water with Fireheart watching over them while Sandstorm was being taught to swim by Silverstream.

"You'll be fine, Sandy." Silverstream called, swimming easily.

Sandstorm frowns from a boulder overlooking the scary water. "I...Don't know."

Featherkit and Stonekit call their other momma.

"C'mon Momma! Its like stalking prey!" Featherkit assured the sandy warrior queen.

"We believe in you." Graystripe chirped, nuzzling her comfortingly.

"Okay...here I go." Sandstorm inhaled sharply and plunged right in next to Silverstream, thrashing and gasping.

"Copy my legs! Claw, then kick. Claw, then kick." Silverstream swam around the Thunderclan cat making sure no currents pull her downstream.

Claw, kick, claw, kick. Sandsome kept this rhythm, stalk the mouse, stalk the mouse.

"Shes doing it!" Fireheart purred! His sandy beloved and silver love getting along with swimming lessons. His heart melted. The kits tired from swimming, curl against him to sleep.

They got tired, dry off and the 4 snuggle in the long grass by Sunning Rocks.

Unaware they were being watched by Crookedstar. His daughter, with 3 mates? And all are Thunderclan? And the big gray one gave her kits? Should he interrupt or let them be?

'Shes clearly happy...and the kits are loved. And these cats are capable warriors...oh my daughter. I hope they are all you wished for. Watch over my daughter, Thunderclan, I'll surly miss her.'

With his quiet blessing, he turns to leave for his camp. 'Farewell...daughter.'

Stonefur seems to be quite popular!! Funny, since I’ve personally never thought much of canon Stonefur ^^’

Design notes:

Build is very much RiverClan; very sturdy and thickset, small ears, thick, fluffy fur. ThunderClan traits include unusually long legs for a RiverClanner, alongside his coloring/markings that really betray his parentage.

Colorpoint lad! While he’s more brown-toned, he’s still gray-furred like his mother’s side; gets a lot of physical traits from Bluestar. Actually takes even more after Goosefeather!

Canonically can take on multiple cats at once, so I gave him a handful of scars and torn ears to show how battle-weathered he is.

Pale, round, “stone-like” mark at his forehead.

Large, thick, pale paws.

LGBT+ headcanon: Cis, aromantic-bisexual tom who uses he/him pronouns.
