Three Ideas To Boost Your Band’s Outreach

So one thing that I don’t think people in this scene understand is the importance and scale of the outreach you need to have to grow. The thing is, it’s all hand-to-hand combat. The more you engage, the further along you will get. What I wanted to do was break down how to engage.
First I want to talk about how to find people to reach out to at scale, both those who are aware of you and then those who are not aware of you. Then I want to turn around and talk about reaching out to higher level people at scale and how to do that in a way that leads to sustained growth.
Reaching Out To Existing Fans
So this is one of my favorite tactics I rarely see people do. Go and start to send direct messages to all the people who comment on your posts. If you don’t have a lot of commenters go send direct messages to the people who like your posts. Just start reaching out and saying thank you. It’s not spam if it’s your way of showing gratitude.
One tactic I like to use is film a quick video saying thank you and sending it to everyone who is engaged on Instagram, just as a way to show gratitude and show people that I give a shit about them and am glad that they are in my content universe.
Reaching Out To Potential New Fans
Here’s a secret that’s so obvious you’ll smack yourself for not thinking of it sooner. The people who comment on some of your favorite bands posts are generally the biggest fans of that band. Furthermore, they are generally people who are very active on social. What this means is if you follow them and reach out about both being fans of the same band, or even just comment on their posts, they will follow you back and engage with you.
Furthermore, what I see working very often is going under relevant hashtags to your genre. So for most readers of this blog, it will be tags like #doommetal #stonerrock, etc. and then engaging with the people who post in their socials. If they give enough of a shit to engage their own audience, they will give enough of a shit to engage with you.
Reaching Out To High Level People
When it comes to reaching out to a high level, you just need to appreciate that they are just people like you and me. They are just motherfuckers out there trying their best. If you can reach out in a human way, then you are going to really start to get somewhere.
One way to really make this work for you is to reach out with a specific question or compliment, especially if you can find out it's something that relates to a specific interest of theirs. The more you can connect on that level and be like, "Hey, we both like fishing, let’s talk about that!" the more likely you are to open a door. Everyone loves talking about their passions -- give people a chance to do that and you will be rewarded.
As you can see, reaching out to your existing fans as well as new fans doesn’t need to be hard if you put some logic behind it. The same goes for reaching out to high-level people. It doesn’t need to be as intense as I sometimes think people make it out to be in their heads. Just do it!

Good morning to anyone reading this, it’s too early to be awake so kudos to anyone who is. All I wanna do is go back to bed with my other half but adulthood calls and I’m at work. Obviously because if I wasn’t I wouldn’t be up this damn early. My eyes burn from the fluorescent lights and I don’t feel like talking. My bones are stiff and sore and I feel like if I listen really quietly I can hear my bed calling me back, my beds always been my safe place. Even now as I live in an apartment of my own with plenty of space I’m still drawn to my bed, how couldn’t I be when it’s so cozy and warm, filled with stuffed animals and my little doggy. It’s cold this morning, the grass was still damp walking to work . Things have been good lately, I’m very content with my life. Saturday and Sunday I work doubles so I’m pretty sure I’ll be posting on here again to make the time go by quicker and to say hello to my few people who read these posts. I started watching Game of Thrones with my boyfriend, it’s his favorite TV show and I’ve never seen it. We’re on season two episode two I think and is pretty good I like it so far, there’s a lot of characters and names to remember but he doesn’t mind when I ask questions. Yesterday we went grocery shopping and then went over to his parents house, it was really nice and the drive home was even better. I always get these reassuring feelings that I am like yeah he’s my soulmate because yesterday we were jamming out to Avril Lavigne in the truck. We didn’t get home until late, but we put on iCarly while we ate our dinner and then I painted his nails black. He’s getting into nail polish and I think it’s the best thing ever because I’m so sick of people saying if boys paint their nails it means they are gay, now how in the hell is paint gay? Beats me. I could go on and on about how much I love that man but then again I don’t know if y’all wanna hear about that. This blog is honestly kind of all over the place, it goes from talking about depression, anxiety, work, relationship, drama. But it’s my little safe place. We went to Meijer and I don’t know if any of you not Michigan people on here know what that is it’s a grocery store, and they had my vitamin water, cool blueberry lavender which fits my witchy aesthetic completely. Maybe not the best thing to drink at 5 AM, because it has lavender and chamomile in it and a bitch is trying to stay awake. Timmy asked me last night if he goes to McDonald’s in the morning if there’s anything I would want which completely melted my heart because you know the best way to my heart is food. And ya girl need some ice coffee daily, I don’t know if I mentioned this before but I’ve been reading Harry Potter again I’m on Harry Potter and the goblet of fire. When we went to the store we went to the book section and I swear there was so many books I could’ve bought, but I’m kind of broken and I’m trying to be better with my money. We saw the cutest little figurines, dolls? they were little bunnies in suits and dresses, little wildlife animals in their little homes, I’m probably gonna post a picture so y’all know what I’m talking about but yes I’m about to be 23 and I would buy the whole set if I could because it’s literally my aesthetic. And I know I said aesthetic twice I guess that’s a word I use daily, but there’s somethings so comforting about little woodland animals, I have a whole Pinterest folder dedicated to them. Just the thought of a tiny little squirrel family living in a tree and having a little fireplace and in a bed with their mama reading them a book???!? Like that shit will melt your heart in the best way. My nose is very cold, Ugh to be back in bed, but I got to stay strong I am somehow an adult with a full-time job working overtime so I got to be proud of myself in someway. I just can’t wait to get off, watch more Game of Thrones with my man I don’t know what the weather supposed to be like today but probably yucky because that’s all it has been lately. Anyways. I’ll ttyl. Love always -Joanna

Ok everybody, I'm new in town, I'm stoned, I'm watching Benjamin, and I'm makin' gifs
What’s he doing??? Uh, and how cute is this house with the little half stairs? There’s also the most amazing door in another scene. I want a house like this with all the nooks and crannys, not the lame one I have that looks exactly like all the others on my street. A family of raccoons live in my shed, though, so you know... comme ci comme ca
