A seven-year-old girl and an 11-year-old boy were the victims of a suspected double murder in Stoke-on-Trent, UK on Sunday June 11 2023.
A 49-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder after officers found the two children with “significant” injuries at a home on Flax Street on Sunday.
Officers went to a home on Flax Street and found two people unresponsive and injured inside as they went to arrest the suspect. Despite the efforts of paramedics, both children, who have not been named, died at the scene.
The woman was arrested on suspicion of murder and is in custody. The victims’ next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
In a state police said: “Our priority was to inform the family before confirming the ages of the children. They are currently being supported by specially trained officers.
“The woman arrested is known to the children. We don’t believe there to be any wider threat to the public at this time.
“Our focus remains on finding out more about what happened yesterday and supporting the family at this deeply distressing and tragic time.”
Anyone with any information which could help with the police investigation are asked to get in touch as soon as possible. Detectives are particularly interested in any CCTV or dashcam footage from the area of Flax Street and Campbell Road between 1.30pm and 2.30pm on Sunday, and to hear from those who were in the area at the time.
What do football managers do after they retire? Live the good life in the Costa del Sol? Join the army of tv pundits? Former Celtic, Manchester United and Scotland player Lou Macari also had a successful career in management. When he retired from the game, instead of taking it easy he chose to give something back to a community who had taken him to their hearts.
Lou started the Lou Macari Centre. It gives homeless people in warm, clean place to stay. They provided with food, heat and an address - which helps when applying for work.
Lou has suffered stressful times in the past and personal tragedy. His dedication to help those more unfortunate than himself is a example to us all.

Block paving is a popular choice for driveways due to its durability and visual appeal. However, over time, even the most well-constructed block paving can start to look worn and dirty. Fortunately, there are some simple steps you can take to keep your block paving driveway looking like new for years to come.
The first step in maintaining your block paving driveway is to clean it regularly. Use a stiff brush and some soapy water to remove any dirt or stains from the surface. If you notice any weeds or moss growing between the blocks, remove them by hand or with a weed killer.
To prevent future growth of weeds or moss, you can apply a weed-inhibiting solution to the driveway. This will help to keep the surface clean and prevent any unwanted growth.
Another important step in maintaining your block paving driveway is to keep it well-sealed. This will help to protect the surface from the elements and prevent any damage from occurring. Apply a high-quality sealer to the surface of the driveway every two to three years to keep it in top condition.
Finally, be sure to inspect your driveway regularly for any signs of damage or wear. If you notice any cracks or broken blocks, be sure to have them repaired as soon as possible to prevent further damage.
By following these simple steps, you can keep your block paving driveway looking like new for years to come. With a little bit of maintenance and care, you can enjoy a beautiful and durable driveway that will last for many years to come.
