headcanon that jason reads to cass. well, it started as him reading to cass -- she got to work on her literacy, and he got to share his favorite books with someone -- but it kind of isn't just cass anymore.

tim was the first to join them. he'd sit at the end of the couch and listen. jason's got a good voice for reading, very calm and measured, and having that sort of steady, relaxed sound in the background made tim feel comfortable enough to fall asleep to the sound of his brother reading.

damian, oddly enough, was next. he walked into the library one day, fully prepared to dye tim's hair purple or something while he was asleep, but he came across jason reading aloud and short-circuted a bit. he didn't get read to growing up in the league of assassins, so the concept was pretty foreign to him. but he kind of liked it. so he sat down in one of the chairs and listened.

dick's Sibling Bonding Radar just went off one afternoon and led him to the couch in the library. tim was already asleep and damian was settled into the armchair, entranced, so it was cass that made eye contact with him and put a finger to her lips, telling him not to interrupt. not that dick was going to -- he was already stretching out on the floor, careful to be absolutely silent so as not to disturb the peace.

steph, kate, duke, and barbara don't live at the manor, but every time they're in the house during this self-imposed quiet time, they'll find a spot on the couch or the floor to listen. in the kind of life they have (the one where you dress in kevlar and spandex and go out at night to punch people) (or during the day to punch people) (or you run an enormous computer to help the people in the kevlar and spandex... okay you get it) it's nice to have some quiet time with their family.

i think it's interesting how steph is like... the nerds see her as part of the popular group, and sure we see her talking to the cheerleaders a little, but other than that she doesn't really seem to be one of them in the truest sense? i could fully believe that she feels like the tiniest bit of an outcast there, like she's just cool enough for max to give her a pass but she doesn't really click with them that well. she feels to me like the bridge between the popular ones and the nerds, which is appropriate i suppose for her place in the story.

thinking about adhd steph. the line “i couldn’t fucking study” is soooo executive dysfunction. she didn’t want to study, but she needed to, but nope. she couldn’t do it. technically she was on twitter, doing whatever, which is why her dad is like “i need you to put more effort in” but she literally COUODNT make herself study. i’m so serious she was a gifted kid in elementary school but she was cool enough for it to not brand her as a nerd, and then she got older and her adhd got worse with puberty and she stopped getting good grades and shit and her dad never bothered to get her a diagnosis or meds or anything bc she’s his perfect daughter, and he’s the mayor. so she just can’t fucking study. until, of course, she has a cute boy to study with who helps keep her focused and has a system for adhd studying (since ruth has it too).

In my head even though AC and NPMD are in different timelines, Pete being jacked is a constant. Mostly because "she's the brawn, i'm the brains" implies that Steph is extra buff, which is real and true. To me.

Ok I can’t find the text post but someone was talking about the mystery of Steph’s mom, and that people were saying how now that her dad is passed she is an orphan.

They brought up that when Steph got home from that fateful day at school, she called out for her mom

And I just wanted to mention I watched it with captions and she yells out “I’m home” rather than “mom”, so the mystery still stands, who really knows what’s up with her

I really enjoy (?) the theory that mayor Lauter had to give up his wife 15 years ago when he came in contact with the lords in black and had to give up what he treasured most
