getting to know yourself therapy assignment:
Values and Life Goals
1. What does your ideal “you” look like?
Content with life, career in beauty, NYC living, long term partner, maybe a cat as well, financially comfortable.
2. What kinds of dreams and goals do you have?
My two biggest are my career as a makeup artist and living in NYC.
3. Why are these dreams or goals important?
Makeup has been a part of my life since I was 12 and I have been in love with it ever since. I can artistically express myself and feel beautiful. And if I can do that for other people and be payed for it then it would fulfill me. I am so passionate about it when I talk about it I start to cry.
It is important to me to move near NYC because it is truly my happy place. I don’t feel judged there, I can truly be myself and be care free. There is an abundance of places to go and things to see. There is a lot of culture there as well which I love.
4. What is keeping you from these dreams or goals?
For the MUA career, mostly just procrastinating building my portfolio. I think I’m really ready to start now that I’m comfortable at my job. I also don’t know if I’ll be able to find anyone who would like the niche I am going for in my art.
With moving, definitely finances. I would definitely be happy with moving to a place nearby where I could take a train ride into the city. I’m mostly just waiting on what happens with my mom and step dad to see where they go with their business.
Personality
5. Describe yourself in three words.
Introvert, creative, lover
6. Ask yourself if your personality has changed since childhood.
I’m not sure how to answer because I’m not aware of my childhood personality or my own now.
7. Is your personality like either of your parents?
I’ve been told by more people that I’m “like my dad” in nature than they say I’m like my mom.
8. What qualities do you most admire in yourself?
Drive for self improvement, caring for people, self awareness
9. What is your biggest weakness?
Anxiety
10. What is your biggest strength?
Ability to self improve
11. What things scare you?
So many things… time moving too fast, dying alone, tornadoes, demons, ghosts, men, being out at night, dissociation, my own anxiety, etc.
12. Do you make decisions logically or intuitively?
Mostly logically but I do get very clear intuition about certain things in my life that feel borderline psychic.
Relationships
13. Describe your ideal intimate relationship.
A relationship where we grow together. Where my partner is understanding, trustworthy, and honest. They have a good relationship with their family. They inspire me to do better. We are in a long term commitment living together in separate rooms with a cat probably.
14. Who would you call if you only had a few minutes to live?
My dad
15. What would you say?
ILOVEYOUILOVEYOUILOVEYOU
16. Who have you loved the most?
This one is hard to say. It’s between J and A. Unfortunately J just because them toxic relationships have you feeling love on a whole other level during the good times. But consistently I loved A so so so much. They were the absolute best to me.
17. Of all the relationships you have had, describe the best moment.
There is no singular moment with them, but I would say the most special and important thing I ever experienced in a relationship was when A supported me during my struggle with mental health. I was worried to death all the time but I had someone so safe and kind to fall back on. It was the darkest time for me and I couldn’t have done it without them by my side.
18. Describe a devastating moment in terms of relationships.
My first breakup when I was 13 was absolutely brutal. I saw us together forever and I couldn’t imagine a future without him. It completely broke my heart and I didn’t recover until a year later.
19. Ask yourself if you treat yourself better than others?
No. I need to treat myself better. I am very self critical.

Want to Boost Sales on Amazon? – 11 Pro tips for 2022
What can you do to boost sales on Amazon and take your business to the next level? Here's some good news! The sales on Amazon marketplace continues to grow despite increased competition. Both Amazon's revenue and its third-party seller share are growing rapidly.
You can boost your sales on Amazon by fixing issues such as poorly written listings, poor images, and inefficient marketing. You will be able to surpass inexperienced or lazy sellers by taking advantage of these opportunities.
With Amzrank Consulting, you can get new customer sales like never before. No matter what niche you're in, what product you sell, or whether you're a new Amazon seller or an experienced one, this strategy works.
You can increase your Amazon sales in 2022 by following these 11 actionable tips.
1. Off-Amazon Promotions (External Traffic)
Run a promotion outside Amazon right now if you want to increase sales. You can tap into a new audience of people who aren't actively searching for products on Amazon through off-Amazon traffic channels (or external traffic).
Commonly used traffic channels include:
Facebook/Instagram
Google
TikTok
Pinterest
Blogs
Influencers (on social media, YouTube, etc.)
Email marketing
You can increase amazon sales from these channels by offering a single-use promo code to potential customers.
It is easy to get more people to buy your product by offering a money-off discount. And the spike of sales you get from running a promotion will often result in momentum that carries over to organic, full-priced sales.
2. Retargeting
When you introduce your product to a new audience, not everyone will buy it right away. No matter what discount code you offer.
A great marketer knows that retargeting people who have shown interest in your brand with multiple steps will ultimately result in a purchase. Those who have clicked on and interacted with your marketing material can be targeted with follow-up campaigns. A retargeting audience will almost always convert at a much better rate than a plain, cold audience.
3. On-Amazon Promotions
A simple way to increase Amazon sales is to run on-Amazon promotions along with external traffic campaigns. There are a few different types of promotions you can run. These include Lightning Deals, 7-Day Deals, and Amazon Coupons. The majority of Amazon deals appear on product listings, search results pages, and showcase pages. By doing so, you can increase your visibility and conversions from people who find your product online.
Lightning Deals, for example, can be quite competitive, and therefore cost a bit to run. However, it’s a great way to increase sales velocity and create some momentum for your product to rank higher.
4. Optimize Your Listing for Sales
There are many Amazon listings that are poorly written and made only with keywords in mind. It has poor copywriting, basic mistakes, and isn't set up to convert readers into buyers.
Check your listing copy for basic errors to increase sales quickly and easily:
Spelling mistakes
Grammar errors
Sentences that don’t make sense
Don't put too much text in your listing, and make sure it's easy to read. In the search results, keywords are important, but if your listing is not optimized to convert viewers into buyers, it doesn't matter how high you rank.
5. Do More Keyword Research
Keywords present many opportunities for sellers. The number of keywords you research and rank for may be hundreds, but there are always more to discover. Try to find as many variations of your keywords as possible.
Long-tail keywords are extremely valuable, as they drive high-intent traffic to your listing, despite not having that much search volume.
6. Better Product Images
In search results, photos play a huge role in converting impressions into sales. We consume visual content much easier than written content. It’s the role of your images to grab customers’ attention and get them to fall in love with your product.
Low-quality images reflect poorly on your product. Your job is to provide all the information the customer needs to make a confident purchase decision.
7. Get Your Pricing Right
Amazon is a very competitive marketplace, so pricing plays a significant role in customer decisions. Think about it from a shopper’s point of view. Everyone wants the best price. If a customer is weighing up your product versus another, price is often the determining factor. This is especially true if you’re selling against multiple sellers on the same listing. When selling the exact same product, 99% of the time, the customer will choose the lower-priced item.
It might be worth investing in an automated repricing tool to adjust your pricing and stay competitive.
8. Use FBA (Fulfilled by Amazon)
Amazon's fulfillment service, FBA, does more than just simplify storage and shipping. It’s also a way to boost your sales!
Amazon Prime is the reason that FBA helps increase sales. Amazon Prime is a badge that shoppers can trust. When someone sees Amazon Prime attached to your product, it helps take away some of the doubt involved in the purchasing decision.
Whenever we buy something online, we want it quickly and without shipping charges.
9. Run & Optimize PPC Campaigns
You can increase your Amazon sales by pumping money into PPC advertising to push your product above organic results. You’ll get more visibility, more clicks, and more sales.
A lot of sellers are running PPC, but not as effectively as they could. You should constantly be tracking and optimizing your PPC campaigns to improve results.
Today, PPC advertising is almost a must in the Amazon world. If you’re not running PPC yet, this is a big opportunity to increase your sales.
10. Build an Email List
Email Marketing is one of the oldest and most effective online marketing channels. Thus, building a list and utilizing email marketing can lead to a big increase in Amazon sales. Use a landing page in between the external traffic channel and your Amazon listing. Once you have a list, you can start driving additional sales with up-sells, cross-sells (promoting other products), and seasonal promotions (such as Christmas and Black Friday).
There are very few Amazon sellers who have and use an email list. This is your chance to do something your competitors are not.
11. Get More Reviews
A product review is a vital part of selling online. They provide social proof, which is essential for getting past customer objections and making sales. A lot of customers read product reviews before ultimately deciding to buy or not.
There are a lot of small things you can do to encourage more people to write reviews, which add up over time. These include:
Using the “Request a Review” button
Putting product inserts inside your packaging to ask for a review
Improving your product (checking old reviews for common issues)
Using your email list to ask for product reviews and feedback

hi!! so i just started writing fanfics, and i was just wondering -- how do you deal w/ numbers and the whole posting online thing? while i know that i should be writing for fun and stuff (bc it is!) and that im literally JUST starting out, BUT i just.. im someone who really heavily relies on validation, and when people don't really respond to my works well (or at all), i kinda just.. feel bad ): idk.. do u have any tips?
🥺 You came to me for advice on this, anon? 🥺 Thank you so much! I’m more than happy to pass on what I’ve learned and help out a new writer. I’ve been reading/writing fanfics on-and-off in some form or another for like ten years, but especially over the last four and am happy to share some tips. There are five main things that I think can help grow your follower count and the amount of feedback you get:
Don’t feel bad about wanting validation.
Consider the platforms where you post.
Write for active fandoms and popular characters.
Post frequently.
Interact with other authors.
This got rather long so I have more info under the cut about each of these.
1. Don’t feel bad about wanting validation.
There’s this dumb trap that we all fall into as writers that tells us that validation isn’t important and that what matters most is our love of writing. While I enjoy writing, if my stuff got no notes and no feedback then I would definitely have gotten discouraged and quit writing awhile ago. Why would I put all that effort into something if no one seems to appreciate it? There’s nothing bad about wanting people to let you know they like your writing! I get so happy when I see someone left a comment on one of my fics or went crazy in the tags or sent me an ask. And when something doesn’t get any feedback, I get depressed about it and second guess whether I should have bothered writing it. So, definitely try not to get caught up feeling bad because you want people to tell you that they liked your work. 💕
2. Consider the platforms where you post.
I only use AO3 and Tumblr, so I can’t speak to any other platforms, but posting my writing on both of these are widely different experiences. Part of the culture of AO3 is giving kudos and leaving comments, so you’re more likely to get feedback there than anywhere else. I slowly built a following on Tumblr because of my AO3, even when I wasn’t posting anything on Tumblr itself. I would really recommend checking out AO3 if you’re not already on there! You do need to request an invitation, but it only took me a couple of days to receive one. I also have 8 invitations that I haven’t sent out, so DM me if you want one and I can give you one!
I’m sure you’ve already seen posts about this, but the unfortunate thing about writing on Tumblr is that the feedback is absolutely minuscule and I’m not sure why. There’s this awful culture on this platform of people only liking content and not reblogging it to make sure it gets shared with other users. So, you end up really reliant on your own followers and the tagging system for your works to reach people. And the tagging system is a mixed bag. Sometimes your posts don’t show up in the tags or they will but only after a couple of days. If your post gets enough notes then it might go to the top of the search feed but then only for a few days at most.
As a sidenote to readers, this is why reblogging is so important! Even if you only have five followers or don’t leave a comment, just reblogging it means a lot to content creators!
Here are some of the tips I have for the mechanics of Tumblr:
Use the tagging system, as imperfect as it is. I think Tumblr now reads the first 20 tags in your post, so use that to your benefit. I usually always tag at least: [character name]; [character name x reader]; [fandom]; [fandom x reader]. You can always also try things like: [character name genre], [fandom genre], [fandom fanfic], [character fanfic] as well.
Make sure your blog is easy to navigate and have a masterlist that’s easy to find. If a reader sees your content on their dash and decides to check out your other works, if they can’t find them on your blog then they’ll probably just leave.
Self-reblog as much as you feel you need to for your followers who may have missed your post. I self-reblog a lot for new content over the first couple of days and then even will do a few icymi self-reblogs later as well. It also helps to have a list in your profile somewhere of your recent updates so people can easily see if they’ve missed something.
3. Write for active fandoms and for popular characters.
This might seem like common sense, but I think it’s something to keep in mind if you want to grow your follower count and your chances of getting feedback. And there’s nothing wrong with prioritizing a fic over another just because you want more feedback. I actually really want to write something for Chainsaw Man but the fandom is so small compared to the other fandoms I write for that I’m putting it on hold until the anime comes out.
That’s not to discourage you from writing for characters or fandoms that are less popular -- I have a bad habit of writing for niche characters and fandoms. But I always see my activity spike when I write for more popular characters. Another tip is to try and figure out which characters people are thirsting over but where there’s a lack of fics for them. You’ll also find that some characters or fandoms just have louder fans than others. The stuff I’ve written for Gojo has gotten a lot of likes and notes, but not so many comments or much feedback. But the amount of asks and thirsts I’ve gotten for Naoya is wild. This is something you’ll learn over time as you keep writing!
4. Post frequently.
This one is annoying because writers have lives and real-world responsibilities and we can’t just write 24/7. But when you’re trying to build a following, even if you can do a couple of short drabbles a week, you’ll really start to see your follower count and feedback grow. I’m not sure if people tend to like longer or shorter fics more, but overall people are just hungry for content and if you can give it to them on a frequent or at least regular basis then they’re more likely to interact, especially if you’re taking requests.
But don’t prioritize writing and posting content at the cost of your own well-being. As authors we’re all guilty of this at one time or another, but your followers will understand if you have writer’s block or you need to take a step back! Taking care of yourself is more important than getting feedback or interaction. ❤️
5. Interact with other authors.
Building relationships with other authors is a big one, but it’s also probably the hardest because a lot of us (me included!) are just so shy about reaching out! It’s like asking someone on a date or trying to be friends with someone you really admire. I know it’s scary to come off of anon (I still sometimes send asks on anon!), but authors recognize the names we see often in our notes and in our inboxes and we’re all really nice, I promise! 🥰 And I’m much more likely to read the fics of my mutuals and the people I follow than I am to be searching through the tags.
And I think there’s nothing wrong with reaching out to an author you love and politely asking if they’ll read your work. I think it’s totally okay to send something like, “I really love your writing and wanted to know if it’s alright if I share this fic I just posted with you? I’ve seen you thirsting over [character] and think you might like it if you have the time to read it!” The worst they can do is turn you down. I would never be upset over getting an ask like that as long as it was polite and the person was understanding that I might not have time to read their fic. But, I know that this is really scary to ask of someone. I’ve only done it once or twice, so maybe I don’t have any ground to stand on here, but I really think you should try it even if you need to send the ask on anon first.
Please just be mindful of an author’s rules before reaching out.
Another added bonus is that authors are more likely to reblog and give you feedback on the stuff you write because we’re in the exact same boat as you! We’re the perfect audience.
And don’t forget...
Growing your follower count and reaching the level of feedback you want takes time. If you’re just starting out, don’t get discouraged. The more you write, the better you get so even if you’re not getting the feedback you want now, that doesn’t meant that you never will!
And of course, pay it back in kind. Just how you want people to interact with your fics, we want the same. I always try to leave comments on the fics I read on AO3 and always reblog the fics I like on Tumblr and try to go wild in the tags so that the author knows that I loved their works.
I hope you found all of this useful, anon! Best of luck with your writing! 💕

Tryyy.. Detective Ramsey
Pairing: Ethan Ramsey x Casey Valentine (F!MC)
Rating: NSFW/18+ 😈
Word Count:5.7K
(This idea came from a conversation I was having with @deansmyapplepie).
=================================
It was nearing that time of year again, where usually Casey would go out and buy herself the Valentine’s Day special in a café with every intention of loving herself for the day, but it would always go terribly south and she’d end up crying into her pancakes back at home as she ate them from the to-go container cold. It’s the one day of the year she absolutely hated her last name. Everyone expected her to play cupid and help them fall in love within 5 minutes, or help them make a move on their crush. So this year, she was thankful to have work. Arriving at Edenbrook she entered the diagnostic office with purposeful strides, she placed her coffee cup from Derry Roasters on the table and her bag on the floor underneath, before taking her coat off and hanging it on the back of the chair with a flourish.
As she sat down, she sighed contently. Zoning out as she picked up her coffee, sipping it as her mind drifted to the one man she wondered if she’d be seeing personally today.
“Good Morning, Dr. Valentine.”
Casey jumped as the man’s voice greeted her, choking on her sip of coffee and spilling the rest down her white coat.
“Ahhh!” She spluttered.
She stared at herself and the mess in disbelief before looking up to meet his sapphire crystal blues with her forest greens. Was he… laughing?
“This is not funny Ethan.” Casey scolded.
“I beg to differ. From where I’m standing.. it’s hilarious.” He chuckled fondly.
Casey narrowed her eyes, not in the mood for bullshit from anyone today. Sighing heavily Casey snatched up the box of tissues from the middle of the table and started soaking up the mess. Ethan was still laughing to himself as Baz joined then a short while later.
“Morning Casey! Morning Eth..an? … What’s got you so smiley?” He questioned.
“I scared Casey. Her coffee went everywhere. Her face was a picture! Quite priceless really” Ethan explained.
Casey was fuming at the table still mopping up the mess. Baz looked over and gave her a sympathetic smile. She tried to return it but she couldn’t force it so just gave a curt nod as she let out a weary sigh.
“I’ll be back in a moment Baz,” she said as she tied up the trash bag which was now full of coffee-soaked tissue.
Baz gave a friendly nod as Casey took herself and the tied up bag out of the office and towards the locker rooms, after she was gone he turned to Ethan and raised a brow.
“What?!”
“You’re being mean Ethan.”
“Oh sure, I’m the one being mean. She was the one calling me at 2 am because she couldn’t sleep without my voice.”
“And what did you do?”
“Told her what any rational person would. Go back to sleep and call me at a more Godly hour.”
“Ethan! No wonder she’s pissed.”
“What do you mean?”
“She’s supposed to be your girlfriend. Yet, you refused to soothe her when she couldn’t sleep. And you’ve made her spill her coffee everywhere and laughed in her face.”
“So?”
“Have you given her a special good morning dose of affection?”
“Why would I need to-”
“It’s Valentine’s Day Ethan! You know. February 14th!? That poor woman probably just wanted to do her work, share a few flirty glances, and lunch with you. Then come round yours and spend the night. But instead, you’re bullying her!”
“Don’t be ridiculous Dr. Mirani. If she wanted that she’d tell me.”
“... is that… how… you feel? That- that I should ask to be pampered by the man who’s supposed to be my boyfriend on the one romantic global holiday of the year.” Casey shuddered from the doorway, now wearing just a plain pair of large scrubs.
“Babe I didn’t-”
But his protest went unheard. She was already gone, the elevator doors closing behind her as she jumped in behind Ines.
She left the hospital and hopped in a cab, heading to Ethan’s. She hated Valentine’s Day even more now. And right now she hated Ethan. She stormed up to his apartment and let herself in with the key he gifted her. If that’s how he felt, she’d take the few bits she’d moved to his apartment and take them back to her own. She grabbed the small suitcase she left in his cupboard and started tossing in all her clothes. She turned to the nightstand to pack her books she left when she noticed a new stack with a post-it note stuck on top. She read it aloud.
“Put away before rookie sees.”
She was curious so she looked at the stack in closer detail and her jaw dropped. Ethan had specifically said he wasn’t one for this type of novel, yet here the whole collect sat on his nightstand. Grabbing a pen from her pocket she added to the note.
“Oops. Guess you forgot, Mr. Grey.”
She chuckled to herself then finished tossing the contents of her belongings into the suitcase. She was just zipping it up when she heard a key go in the door.
“Rookie?... Dr. Valentine?!”
She quietly tucked the suitcase into the corner of the room and slid under the bed after a split-second decision of wanting to see him sweat. Okay, so yeah. It was a petty action to take but in her eyes, was so needed. Her key was on the table by the door, that would be the first thing he noticed. Second? She was hoping it would be the addition she made to the note. She knew that would really get him panicked. She silenced her phone, dull the screen, and turned off the vibration. She knew that would be his third step. To contact her and apologize. She wasn’t ready for that though. So she waited patiently under his bed with bated breath. Just as she’d suspected.
“Shit. How could you be so reckless Ethan! You stupid- Fuck! Her books are gone!”
She giggled to herself internally. She was making him sweat and loving it. Listening intently she heard him pull his phone out and sit in his chair with a heavy sigh.
“Come on. Pick up.”
She watched her phone screen light up and go off at least 10 times before he threw his phone down with a growl of frustration.
“She’s left her key. Took her books. Isn’t answering her phone. What- what have I- I have to find her. Where else would she-? Ah! That niche diner she introduced me to.” He choked through a sob. It broke Casey’s heart hearing him like that. She listened as he grabbed his keys and phone from his desk and ran out of the apartment, door slamming behind him.
Once it was safe, Casey slid out from under the bed and hobbled to the bathroom. She was busting for a pee. After that, she grabbed her suitcase and made for home. Leaving her key to Ethan’s apartment behind. When she got back to her apartment, she discarded the suitcase in her room, grabbed a change of clothes & coffee to go, then headed back to Edenbrook on the next bus. When she arrived, she sought after Naveen. They rescheduled her shift so she was now working overnight and she went to an on-call room to catch some sleep.
Later as she stumbled out of the on-call room, she slammed into someone as she rounded the corner. Too tired to care and in desperate need of water, she carried on without a word.
“C-Casey..?” A broken voice ushered
She stopped in her tracks, turning her head to the side but keeping her back to the person. “What?”
“You- I- Where have you been?”
“Sleeping.” She replied bluntly then faced forwards, carrying on her route to the cafeteria.
“Casey.” She stopped as she felt his hand gently grab her wrist.
Taking a deep breath, she yanked it from his grip. “I need to go. My shift starts in 5 minutes. Anything you need regarding diagnostic patients will have to wait until morning, Dr. Ramsey. Good night.” And with that she carried on, Ethan swallowing harshly then turning on his heel, dragging his feet to his car. He’d truly fucked up. And he’d have to do everything in his power to make it right.
In the middle of the night, his phone pinged on the nightstand and he awoke to read the words he never thought he would. “Dr. Ramsey. We’re over. From now on, we’re colleagues only.”
And suddenly it was too much. He felt everything at once. Love, anger, sadness, spite, grief, and just about every emotion a human can feel before all he felt was a painstaking numbness throughout his entire body. He doesn’t know when they started but as he looked in the mirror he saw the hot tears that streamed down his face. The pain in his eyes. He was broken, and the only person who led to this happening was himself. He reflected on the past few months where Casey had stopped her teasing of him over his quirky ways, how he didn’t like it so he thought if he started teasing her back, she’d tease him again. But all he’d done was drive her away. He’d lost her. Well and truly.
He arrived at work the next morning, red rings around his eyes, bag slung over his shoulder, and coffee cups in hand. Out of habit he’d ordered for Casey but… that was a habit he’d now have to break. In the early morning quiet, the elevator dinged loudly to announce its arrival on the ground floor. It drew his attention of course and he watched as Casey stepped out and walked confidently to the exit and outside into the fresh air. He wanted to follow her and give her the coffee in his hand, but he found himself frozen to his spot, his voice dying in his throat. As he stood staring at the doors Baz and Zaid stopped behind him and shared a worried glance.
“Uh... Dr. Ramsey?” Zaid spoke.
“Hrm?” Ethan hummed, still staring at the doors.
“Are you okay?” Baz asked.
“Hrm?” He repeated.
Baz sighed and gave a nod to Zaid in goodbye, “Come on. We need to get to the office.” Baz said
“Hmm,” Ethan said, blindly following Baz to the seventh floor.
Once they were in the office, Baz shut the door and closed the blinds, facing Ethan as he crossed his arms over his chest. “Okay, what’s happened? You’re doing the zoned out hrm thing.”
Ethan swallowed. He hated that Baz could pick up on things so easily, and was so no-nonsense about getting to the bottom of things to sort the problem out. “Why would you assume something happened?”
“Ethan,” Baz sighed as he pulled up a chair and sat opposite him at his desk, “you’re zoned out and not paying attention to me. Are you feeling okay?” He empathized.
“Just suffering a broken heart. I’ll be fine by the end of today.” Ethan mumbled, hoping Baz didn’t hear him.
“A broken heart? Did- are you and Casey…”
“No more? Great observation Dr. Mirani. You’ll forever have a spot on my team for that.”
“But I don’t understand. You only scared her and made her spill coffee. Is she… on her period or something? Overreacting?”
Ethan sighed wearily, “No. she’s not. I’ve been behaving like that towards her for months. She stopped teasing me about my quirks one day, I disliked that she stopped. I thought maybe if I started teasing her, she’d get annoyed enough to start doing it back. But I was stupid. I took it too far and now I’ve lost the most amazing woman that’s ever walked into my life. She didn’t only light up the room when she walked in Baz, she lit up my heart and my whole day. She knows me, better than I know myself. She’s quirky and fun and cute. My age is no secret, before her, I always used to sit at home feeling it, but she came along and I felt young again. I felt like I could talk about anything with her, indulge my inner child by having fun and she wouldn’t judge me. She was… still is a breath of fresh air, my lotus flower in the desert. And I… I scared her away.”
By the end of his speech, Ethan’s voice was breaking as tears rolled down his cheeks, eyes glistening with the ones that sat unshed. “Sorry. I uh… Thanks.” Ethan stuttered as he took a tissue from the box Baz held out to him.
“You should go home.”
“But I’ve got patients to see. This team has work to do. I can’t stay off because my relationship ended. It was an unethical one anyway.”
“Unethical or not. You can’t treat your patients when you can barely focus. I’ll take your patients for today. You go home. You need to process your emotions before you make a misdiagnosis.”
“… fine. I hate it when you’re right.”
“No, you don’t. You just don’t want to open up and let people in because of past trauma with your mom leaving. That hurt you. You never want to feel it again, yet… you’re feeling it right now and you’re beating yourself up because this time, you’re part of the reason the person’s left. But you can also be part of the solution that brings them back. If you act quick enough, that is.”
“But I-”
“Go home, Ethan. Better yet. Go to Casey’s home. Apologize for your behavior, explain yourself, and ask for a second chance. If I know that woman, she loves you too much to not give you one. I guarantee she’s hurting too right now.”
“Baz I cannot just up and leave everyth-”
“Go. Before I page Naveen.”
“Fine.” Ethan huffed, like a sulky teenager as he collected his things and dragged his feet to the door.
“And pick your feet up before you fall over them.”
“Yes, dad” Ethan said, Baz chuckling to himself as Ethan left the room.
Later in the afternoon as he was taking a break, Baz’s phone pinged in his pocket. He took it out and smiled at the screen.
“What’s got you so happy?” Zaid pondered aloud
“Hm? Oh, nothing. I just... I think I may have helped save a relationship and stopped this place from becoming a hostile work environment.”
“What do you mean?”
“Casey broke up with Ethan after he got too much with his teasing of her and playing pranks. I had to send him home today, he was a mess. I advised him to try and talk to her and fix it before it’s too late. Looks like he took my advice.” Baz smiled and turned his phone to show Zaid the Pictagram post, Ethan just made and tagged him in.

/// The next day ///
It was now a brand new day, and in reality, two days since the coffee incident. Casey walked through the halls with confidence as she headed to check on her next patient when she clocked Zaid approaching her.
“Ah! Dr. Valentine. There you are.” He exclaimed, placing a gentle hand on her forearm.
“Zaid! What can I do for you?” Casey smiled.
“Dr. Ramsey wants to see you in the gardens upstairs.”
“Well.. he’ll have to wait. I’m now checking up on my paediatric patient.”
“He said it’s urgent. I’ll take the patient.”
“No!... You won’t.” She snapped.
Zaid stared at her with a bit of shock.
“She’s… family. I promised to bring her Auntie Casey special medicine for tummy pain. Dr. Ramsey will have to wait.”
Zaid opened his mouth to protest but closed it rethinking his words before speaking them, “I’ll relay that message for you.”
“Thank you.” Casey nodded and entered the paediatric ward to find her patient.
As Zaid re-entered the gardens a few minutes later, Ethan turned and frowned.
“Where’s Casey?”
“Busy with a paediatric patient. She’s family and I- I said I’d take them for now but she-”
“It’s fine. Family’s important to her. She knows I’m here, yes?”
“She does.”
“Then thank you Dr. Mirani. You may go back to work now.”
With a single nod, Zaid turned and left the gardens and back to work. 20 minutes had passed and Casey still hadn’t come up to the gardens so Ethan made the decision to page her. Another 20 minutes passed, and another and another, until eventually 2 hours had passed and Casey hadn’t even read his pages. Sighing, Ethan left the gardens and entered the elevator, heading back down to the 7th floor. When he exited the elevator he stumbled straight upon a scene of chaos, and in the center, the one he’d been waiting for.
“Dr. Valentine!” He shouted and ran over kneeling beside a nurse. “What happened here?”
“We’re not sure Dr. Ramsey. I was walking with her to the elevator when her legs just gave out. She’s conscious but unresponsive. No head injuries, she just… passed out.”
Ethan listened intently, nodding in all the right places. “Do we have a bed for her?”
“Dr. Mirani and Marlene have gone to find one, but they’ve been gone for 20 minutes. That’s roughly the time she’s been out of it.”
“Fuck.” He cursed under his breath as he lowered his head. “Okay. We need to get her to the couchin the diagnostics office, then I’ll need you to ready me a cold glass of water and I’ll prepare her favourite snack. … Just as I suspected, dehydration.”
Beside him Sarah gulped. “Oh Casey.” She sighed, truth was, since Casey had started at Edenbrook she and Sarah had grown so close they were practically sisters. Seeing her like this tore a little at Sarah’s heart, she swallowed and looked back at Ethan with a nod.
“Ready?” He asked
“Y-yeah.”
“Good. You take her legs, I’ll take under her arms.”
Assuming their positions, Ethan counted to three and they lifted Casey and carried her to the couch.
“And lower.” He said as they hovered her over the couch cushions. “Thank you.”
“No problem, I’ll get that water.” Sarah said, giving a sad smile. Once she had completely disappeared, Ethan closed the blinds and broke down as he knelt beside Casey’s limp form. He took her delicate hand in his own and gave her knuckles feather light kisses.
“You’ve done it again, haven’t you? Overworked yourself to stop the pain. Pain that this time I’m the cause of.”
He turned to the door as a knock sounded, Sarah entered with the glass of water. “Here you go. I made sure it was from the tower and not the tap, I added exactly 3 ice cubes and Dr. Trinh is on her way up with her straw from her locker.”
“Thank you, Sarah.”
Sarah nodded and backed out of the room, the doors hissing shut behind her.
He handed his patients off the Naveen for the next few hours as he stayed by Casey’s side as she woke up and slowly returned to her rounds. For professional reasons, he was there as he attending to make sure her performance was up to scratch and she wasn’t slacking. But personally, he was there as her boyfriend, first and foremost. In moments when nobody else was looking, concern creased his brow. His heart ached. He’d been the catalyst in this scenario. After her shift finished, Ethan was there waiting outside the locker room.
“You’re staying at mine tonight.” He stated
“Dr. Ramsey. I’m fine now. And besides, I live in a house full of doctors.” Casey smiled and gestured to Sienna and Aurora, who she was leaving off with.
“No buts or bargaining Dr. Valentine, you’re staying at mine.”
“Ethan.” Casey said sternly, “You’re letting guilt eat away at you again. Stop it!”
“That may be so. But I would rest easier knowing you’re under my roof tonight.”
Casey rolled her eyes good naturedly and turned to her friends, “I’ll see you guys tomorrow. Save some cookie batter for me to bake okay?”
“Sure thing Case. See you tomorrow.” Aurora smiled
“Bye Casey!” Sienna chimed with a hug, and followed Aurora out of the building.
A short drive later, Ethan walked through the doorway of his apartment, holding Casey’s hand tightly.
“You can loosen your grip, you know. It’s kinda starting to hurt.”
“Hm? Oh! Sorry.” He apologised.
Casey smiled and sat on his couch. “I thought you didn’t finish until about half 9 tonight?” She queried.
“I’ve bargained with Naveen to finish an hour early. But until then, you’re here on your own.”
“Ethan!” She whined, “I could have gone home with the others and made my cookies!”
“You can make cookies here. I have the ingredients.”
“No. Making them alone is something you do when you want solitude and to relax. I wanted to have fun with my friends, talk and relax. Now I have to sit here for 5 hours and try to find something to entertain myself with.”
“I’m sure you’ll manage. Now, I have to get back to work. I’ll see you later sweetheart.” He rushed and with a quick peck on her lips he was gone.
Casey sighed and looked around the apartment. After lounging on the couch browsing TV shows for about an hour, she decided to go and have a bath. After her relaxing soak, she grabbed her key for his apartment, which was still sitting where she left it and went for a walk to get food and drink. She made the conscious decision to stop by her apartment and bake her cookies, by the time she returned to Ethan’s it was 9pm. She cringed as she turned her key in the lock and entered the apartment juggling bags and a tray of freshly baked cookies, knowing Ethan was inside. When she rounded the corner, Ethan was standing there, a stern look focused at her, accompanied by a scowl and his arms crossed over his chest.
“What’s in the bags?” He asked
“Dinner.” She answered matter of factly, “and I went home and made us dessert, I hope you have whipped cream and chocolate for shaving in your kitchen because I didn’t pick either of those things up.” She busied herself taking it to the kitchen and laying it all out.
“I could’ve got dinner on my way home. I could have made us something.”
“And miss out on playing Cluedo with me? No chance.”
Ethan raised an eyebrow. “Excuse me?”
“You heard. I want to see if the infamous Detective Ramsey is as good as he’s acclaimed to be.”
“Is that so?” Ethan smirked closing in on Casey
“Mhm.” She giggled as he closed in on her, eventually his hands grazed her hips and he brought his lips to her own, “or should I call you… Mr. Grey.” She whispered a mischievous smirk growing on her features.
Ethan inhaled deeply and Casey bit her lip as she felt him hardened slightly against her thigh.
“And why would you call me that?” He husked in her ear sending electrifying chills down her spine all the way to her toes.
“Just… A suggestion.” She replied barely above a whisper.
“Is that so?”
“Mm.” she replied as Ethan placed his lips against hers, slow and sensual at first, gradually heating it up notch by notch until they pulled away from each other gasping for air, their desire for one another reflecting back at them as their gazes connected. “You know. I don’t think you’re anything like Mr. Grey.” Casey teased with a raspiness to her voice.
Ethan raised an eyebrow, “Is that a challenge?”
“I don’t know,” Casey started, backing away out of the kitchen, “you tell me. Sir” she winked as she turned on her heel and entered the living room. Ethan hot on her trail. “Why tell you. When I can show you.” He smirked as he hovered over Casey.
The air crackled with the sexual tension between them, were they anywhere else, others would be making themselves scarce as it’s clear they aren’t able to hold back. And as quickly as one can snap their fingers, Casey and Ethan’s lips met again in a fiery frenzy. Desperate. Needing. Desire. The three things fueling them the most.
Somehow, without any accident they blindly made their way into Ethan’s bedroom. He kicked the door shut, spinning their positions and pinning Casey to the wooden panel.
“ ‘Not like Mr. Grey…’ I’ll make you eat those words young lady.”
“Just those words?” She flirted
“Oh? … I don’t think you’re in the correct place to be asking questions now. Do you?” He rasped as he removed his tie in one swift movement. Casey gulped as she watched him ravel it around his hands.
“Wh-what are you doing with th-that?”
“Oh wouldn’t you like to know.” He smirked and gestured to the bed, “sit.”
Casey flicked her gaze from Ethan to the bed and back again.
“Sit.” He repeated as he raised a questioning brow as if daring her to disobey his command.
Moving her gaze to his hands, she gulped audibly as she noted his veins raised slightly. Using her better judgement, she slowly made her way to the bed and sat on the edge.
“Good girl.” Ethan praised and he knelt on one knee behind her. “You don’t mind surrendering your sight for a while, do you?”
Casey shuddered at his whispering breath that tickled the shell of her ear. “Do you?” He repeated pressingly. She slightly shook her head. She’d meant calling him Mr. Grey to be a tease. But she’d be lying if she said that the adrenaline she was feeling right now was exhilarating. Her breathing turned from normal to deep yet shallow as the world was shut out and she felt Ethan securing his tie around her head. Listening intently she gasped a little as she heard his belt buckle open and then hit the floor. The seconds that passed felt like hours as she listened to drawers and his closet open and shut again.
“E-Ethan…” she stuttered.
“What’s wrong?”
“W-water. Please. I-”
“Shhhh. It’s okay. I’ll get you some” he whispered, kissing her forehead gently before leaving the room.
After she was sure he was gone she rubbed her shoulders and shivered from the small amount of cold that bit through the warmth of her body. Her heart dropped when she heard the frown in Ethan’s voice.
“You’re cold too,”
“Only a little. It is the tail end of winter.”
“Did you need water?”
“Yes. Please.” She said, opening her mouth. Ethan guided the straw to her lip and rested it there gently and watched as she took a reasonable gulp before nodding and he took it away, placing it on the bedside table.
“Could you guide me to the middle? Of the bed?” Casey questioned. Ethan gave a gentle smile despite the desire he was feeling.
“Of course. Would you feel safer there?”
“Yes.”
Ethan picked her up and moved her to the middle of the bed. “Why don’t you lay down. Make yourself comfortable, and… put your hands above your head for me.” He spoke lowly, peppering soft kisses from her earlobe to her collarbone. She obeyed and laid there whimpering from the electric feeling that was tingling her skin. She wanted- no needed more than what he was giving. As she laid there she continued to listen and heard the sound of handcuffs and swallowed as she felt Ethan grab her wrist gently.
“Detective…”
“Hmmm?”
”Shouldn’t you remove my sweater and bra first?”
She bit her lip as he moved slightly brushing himself against her leg and silently cursed her smarts, undressing her before cuffing her to the bed frame. Once she was safely secured, Ethan used a delicate hand and moved her hair from where it had stuck to her lips before hovering over her.
“You’re so beautiful Casey. Wise beyond your years. Your intellect is,” he took a deep breath “my biggest turn on. And I may not be the best at dirty talk but my god are you the best thing I’ve ever tasted. You light me up in more ways than one Casey Jane. And if you'll allow me. I’d like to share with you my wildest fantasy.”
His breath was shallow, words no more than a desperate whisper and his hand trailed down her side and back up over her stomach and the valley of her breasts. Stopping at her nipple to softly tease, eliciting a whimper from her throat.
“Was that a yes? You’ll allow me?”
“Y-yes.”
“Tryyy.... Detective Ramsey. Let me hear you.”
“Y-yes. Detective R-Ramsey.”
Taking a deep breath as he connected their lips again, Ethan trailed his hand down Casey’s body again, slowly sliding his hand under the waistband of her skirt and toying with her panties. He trailed heated kisses down her body and he slid her skirt and tights off, discarding them on the floor, trailing his hand up her inner thigh as he kissed back up from her hip.
“Nnng.” She whimpered at his teasing touches.
After a few minutes of teasing, Casey gasped as Ethan moved from above her and his warmth was replaced by a shuddering cold.
“Ethan?” She croaked lightly.
“Shhh.” He hushed as he laid beside her on the bed.
“What are you do- oh…” she gasped as she heard a vibrator click on.
“Open your legs.” He cooed, gently coaxing them open with his free hand. Moving her panties aside, he gently gave her a single stroke over her now super sensitive bud earning an audible moan from her and she arched back. “Ah ah ah. Down.”
“Mmmmm.” Casey whined as she lowered herself back to the mattress
“Good girl.” He smirked and brought the vibrator closer to her area. She sucked in a sharp breath as she felt it move closer.
“Ahhhh!” She shuddered as he placed it on her and he muffled her whimpers with a kiss as he moved the device around building her pleasure, edging her closer to her climax and stopping just before she released.
“Nnnngghhhh. Ethaannn.” She cried, pulling at her restraints and writhing her hips to try and find contacted again but she admitted defeat when she heard it click back off.
Casey laid on her back in anticipation, waiting as she heard Ethan shuffling around before she felt something warm graze her lip.
“Detective?” She whispered.
“Shhh. Just suck.” Ethan soothed, sliding his cock in her mouth
“Wha- mmmmm!” She exclaimed and started sucking his dick gently.
“Mmmm” he hummed as Casey moved her head back and forth. He let her edge him as much as he had her before pulling out and moving away leaving Casey gasping for breath as he moved around again. She felt his hands snake round her head and undo the tie around her head and remove it. She blinked a few times to adjust her sight to the room.
“So beautiful.” Ethan whispered as her gaze landed upon him before their lips joined again in a searing kiss. Ethan rolled over, supporting himself with both hands either side of her torso.
———————
Night had turned to early morning by the time the pair laid side by side panting heavily and giggling like giddy children. Casey turned her head and was met with Ethan’s side profile.
“Ethan?” She yawned.
“Mm?” He hummed quietly, turning his head to face her.
“I… I love you.” She smiled earnestly.
“I …… I love you too, Casey.” He smiled back, bringing a hand to stroke her cheek with a gentle caress.
Casey smiled back and they joined their lips in a lazy and tired kiss before pulling each other closer under the covers and intertwining their limbs, falling into a deep slumber.
A few hours later Ethan’s alarm shrilled on the bedside table, and he groaned as he stuck a hand out from under the covers to turn it off. Casey stayed sound asleep on top of him, unfazed by the sound.
“Casey.” He groaned but got no worded response, just a tickle of her breath across his chest to which he chuckled and gentle peeled himself away and made his way to the bathroom. It wasn’t until he had properly woken up he took in the full damage of purplish bruises over his skin in varying shades. “Sssshhhhit.” He cursed, hissing at the pain he felt as he touched some of them.
“H-h-homeostasis!” Casey shouted from the bed which was followed by a thud. Ethan rushed from the bathroom to her side but she remained asleep.
“Casey. Babe wake u- hoooly fuck.” He cursed, assessing the damage of his brutal assault from the night before on her neck. Slowly, Casey’s eyes fluttered open and she gave Ethan a sweet smile.
“Hey, handsome” she greeted, not yet noticing the damage she had done. She moved and winced at a soreness she felt. “Ow!” She exclaimed quietly.
“I know. You fell outta bed. And uh… I’d check your…” he gestured to her neck and torso as he looked down guiltily. Frowning in confusion, Casey pulled herself up with Ethan’s help and walked into the bathroom, looking at her reflection she gasped then reappeared smiling.
“You’re… not mad?” Ethan asked.
“No.” She replied, taking in his chest and neck, “are you?”
Ethan took a couple steps forward to meet her, “Not one bit.” He chuckled, sweeping her head out of her face.
“Well then. I have one thing to say. We need to shower, get dressed, have breakfast, and get to work.”
“What?! People will see the!” He exclaimed as he gestured to their necks, Casey just laughed.
“So? If people wanna talk, let them talk. We lived the moment. So any rumours that cultivate will be from jealousy.” She went up on tip toes and pressed a loving kiss to his lips, stepping back and smiling widely.
“The day you cease to amaze me Casey Valentine, will be the day I die.”
Casey giggled as she pulled them into the bathroom and they started their day how it ended. Steamy and full of love.

Tagged by @pidgeonpostal! And not tagging anyone else because I have SOILED the original template (soiled it!!) in deference to my [brushes off skirt] mostly clean public-facing appearance.
...I’ve been making a lot of Spongebob memes lately for someone who has not seen Spongebob.
How many works do you have on AO3?
71!
What’s your total AO3 wordcount?
...306,834. Jesus.
How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
Uh. Many! I do a lot of one-offs (and/or start long things I never finish) in many different places. My top three fandoms by fics written are RWBY (29), Undertale (25), Gravity Falls/Transcendence AU (4).
Bet you can’t tell where my hyperfixations have fallen.
I’ve also got some Pokémon and Sonic the Hedgehog fics back on my ff.net account, or I think I still do, anyway, but let’s never go back there pls
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
1. Sweeter Than Honey (Undertale): Taking a Completely unsurprising first place, with over 600 more kudos than the runner-up, the haphazard Underswap fic featuring a post-college self-insert I wrote just after high school! I shake my head some at how overblown and ridiculous the gap between this and all my other stuff is (c’mon, guys, I’ve written way better fics), but this is also the fic which prompted me (and at least one other person!) to start using they/them pronouns. I’ve gotten a lot of really sweet comments about how seen and appreciated it’s made people feel, so I can’t get down too far about it.
2. To Be A Hero (BNHA): I don’t count myself as part of the BNHA fandom, for a number of reasons, but for something that’s arguably the main motivation for the entire plot, Midoriya’s quirklessness is something I’ve never thought has been handled well. This fic marked the first time I (somewhat tentatively) claimed the disability label (thanks again to Sweeter Than for prompting that realization) to hold that lens over canon. It also really shot up my chart, dang! It’s the only thing here I’d consider “recent.”
3. Three-Sentence Shipping (Undertale): Self-explanatory.
4. Brothers Beyond Bonedaries (Undertale): Ah, the way-overcomplicated AU³ I got nowhere close to finishing. One of the things I really like about Undertale is the interface screw, how Toby Fox uses the medium of the video game to pull off crazy things and enhance his game, but most of the fic written for the fandom seems dedicated to explaining it away, grounding it, rather than taking it to the next step and messing with the medium of fanfiction when you keep the story going. I tried to do something cool like that here, playing with questions like narrator and authorship and breaking the fourth wall, even taking the “final boss” fight to a “totally separate” fic reached through the first by link – but, well, then I never finished it, which probably didn’t make anything less confusing for the poor folks who missed the intent.
5. Spirit and Such (Gravity Falls: Transcendence AU): A whole fic written to line out a particular image I had, which, naturally, never made it to the page. I consider it a bit of a cautionary tale for myself when it comes to writing (near-)original content; there’s a lot I look back on and cringe. I still love the characters, though – well, the important ones – and I think just stepping away from the tried-and-true Mizar formula nets it a star sticker here.
Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
>w>; I try, but a lot of the time I just don’t have anything to say? Like, oh, you liked it? Neat. There’s not much to respond to in comments like that, and then I’m weighing falling down on an ~obligation~ to respond to every message in my inbox vs annoying people with copy-paste fluff responses all down the page. Plus I know I make more of an effort to comment on things that didn’t get the attention I feel they deserve, so if I’m driving up my own comment count with nonsense, am I preventing myself from being in a position to receive more comments later? And then if I do comment, am I being too effusive or running people’s ears off explaining things they don’t actually need to know? Sometimes people just want to express interest or admiration and don’t necessarily want a whole peek and guided tour behind the curtain.
Can you tell I have anxiety? x3;
Anyway, I do respond when I can. And I keep most of the comments I’ve gotten to go back and reread.
What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
Hm, hmm. Lots of stuff in the TQ Nonsense series would probably qualify! I’m thinking of Unfixable, Wolfsong, and Ethanol. And there’s Bursting Through A Blood-Red Sky (I Can Live, I Can Breathe), of course, but that was always intended to have a fix-it epilogue. It’s just that I wrote it in a couple of hours day-of, stared at it, and decided I didn’t wanna just then. But now that’s As Long As You’re Still Burning Bright (I’m Still Awake), and that’s probably the best romance I’ve written, so that one worked out.
Do you write crossovers? If so what is the craziest one you’ve ever written?
Now and then! When the urge strikes. Uhhh, I’ve got a series of Doctor Who x Undertale crossovers I actually made a whole dang verse for that never made it to print. Get a couple great comments on that every few months or so. I think the World Trigger x Undertale crossover is probably weirder, though, by virtue of WT being a very small fandom. My enthusiasm kinda sputtered out on that one.
Mostly I just daydream crossovers with whatever happens to catch my eye at any given moment. I have a lot!!!! Though odds are out on whether I manage to remember any of them once the initial thought’s passed, lol.
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Gotten a couple eyebrow-raising comments, but I think mostly I’m just too small a writer to draw that kind of attention.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don’t? think so? Think my tastes are a little niche for most people to bother ^^;
Have you ever had a fic translated?
I had someone apologize once for any language mistakes in their comment cause they had to run it through a translator! That’s not what you asked (the answer is no), but it’s very flattering to think that someone liked my fic enough to read and comment despite the language barrier.
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yes! :D @pidgeonpostal was gracious enough to agree to co-write Five Nights at Denny’s with me off an idea about shoes. This has fulfilled a long-held dream of mine (collabing with someone, not the shoes) and also introduced me to some lovely people.
What’s your all time favorite ship?
Who has time for just one? ;3c Honestly, I care more about the characters and how the relationship – any relationship – between them changes them than I do about ~A Ship~ as a solid, bounded noun-object. I’ve got characters I like more and less and feelings about who does and doesn’t have chemistry in which directions with whom, but finding anything that agrees with those preferences is hard, harder when you take alloromanticism into account. I’ll play in any sandbox with cool toys, especially if other folks have already built sick sandcastles there.
What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
[kicks every single unfinished fic further under the bed] What nooo no WIPs here, everything on my account is either finished or does not exist
I’ve got a couple extra chapters of Sweeter Than floating around unposted, but 1. that fic’s a mess 2. high school Twixt and post-college Twixt are different people and trying to contort myself into three other me-shapes just cause people Like this fic is not something I’m super interested in 3. it’s headed for an emotional dip and I’d rather leave it where it is than post two chapters, stall out again, and leave folks with a bad end.
As for other fics... it’s looking more and more likely that v7 of my Yellow Brick Road AU will never actually make it out. >w>; I’ve got some really great ideas, but not enough to make me feel like I know what I’m doing, and that’s a big roadblock. Plus trying to engage with RT’s Atlas-Mantle worldbuilding in any serious capacity is... a headache. I can’t recommend the Happy Huntress Cinematic Universe enough, but it leaves some pretty big shoes to follow! And I’ve got small feet. <w<;
What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue’s fun, probably as an extension of characterization. I love tearing into what makes people tick, especially against the backdrop of their environment, the story they’re in, and the people they’re up against. Voice is a double-edged sword; I’ve been told my writing is really recognizable and individual, but on the other hand, I’ve been growing frustrated with with the limits of my narrative ability. There’s a strong rhythm I keep when I write (you might notice it here, even) but that leaves me feeling predictable and stale. I’m not sure I’m great at setting as a matter of course, but I’m pretty good at describing setpieces where the need comes up; that comes from my background in poetry, as does the fun I have with sublimating and abstracting complex imagery. And I think I bring some needed nuance to the universal. For good or ill, I don’t do what “everyone else” is doing.
What are your writing weaknesses?
Well, writing, for one thing. If I don’t know how something’s going to go and don’t have the urge to write it, it isn’t getting done, which means there’s a billion things that will never see the page and a few hundred more that are never getting finished. I lose momentum easily and have a hard time getting started, and I put way too much standing on finding a foothold with other people; as critical as I am of my work, I have high expectations for the stuff that passes muster, and it never seems to measure up. I’m also really uncreative. Yeah, I can mix up elements and extrapolate events, but coming up with things wholesale is really hard, which is why I avoid it wherever possible and steal/reskin stuff from other places instead.
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
Something along the lines of “Hoo boy, I am Not qualified for this but hopefully it’s decent anyway.” Maria’s Spanish lines haven’t been a big deal – I’ve used it sparingly and, as a Latin language, it should be easy for English-speaking audiences to pick up on the gist – but I’ve had a harder time with Tai’s Chinese, both because I have Even Less background there and because it is, of course, an entirely different language system. If I write it out in English or Romanized italics, am I colonizing it or changing the meaning? If I write it out in the presumed-original characters (presumed because it’s Google Translate and who knows if I’m even barking in the right forest), am I confusing or alienating my presumed-majority-English-speaking audience? Where should I put the translations? Should I put the translations? And for Frisk’s sign language, thinking back, are the brackets I used instead of quotes alienating/infantilizing? I like that different characters give the text between a different feel, but I’m not an ASL speaker – and I’m pretty sure the word is “speaker,” which would only reinforce that that demographic would rather I didn’t do that. It’s important for all these characters, I think, that they use non-English language where it makes sense; it’s part of who they are. But as a white monolingual English-speaker, I don’t think I can really weigh in.
What was the first fandom you ever wrote for?
Thaaaat’d be Pokémon, followed closely with Sonic the Hedgehog. Whether those fics are still on my ff.net account or not (pretty sure I’ve purged them, but you never know) I’ve still got a couple saved to a folder on my current laptop, ostensibly so I can look back and see how far I’ve come and more practically to allow for the possibility of furthering group cohesion through public shaming.
What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
I still like the idea behind The Man Who Is Atlas, and Burning Bright (Still Awake) gets props for being my current fic, though it’s currently in that spot where I’m excited to get new chapters posted but also quietly marking everything up in red pen. I think Harbinger gets the crown here, at least for now.

Pros And Cons
PROs
Falling in love with this software was really not difficult for a number of reasons. To be clear and concise, I’ll give them via a list:
+ Solves a pressing and expensive problem in the video marketing industry
+ Easy to use and works seamlessly
+ And VideoTours360 is designed to create demand for 360-degree videos is rapidly growing with every business literally needing them to stay in business.
+ It’s freaking cheap, going for a one-time deal. Though the one-time offer is only valid during the launch special period.
CONs
By now, you should know I am totally in love with VideoTours360 (don’t tell my spouse, lol!)
But if I am to point out any con right now, it’ll be calling out on the number of upsells . . . although, this isn’t much of a con as the software still works perfectly without any of the upgrades.
The upgrades simply give you more power and that’s all.
Final Verdict
Before I give my final thought, which I think is already obvious by now, I’ll like to say one or two things about the product creator and product vendor.

Emma’s 2020 Questionnaire!
Your Name: Emma Characters: Phineas Flynn, Tiana Truitt, Aquata Triton, Henry Charming, Evelyn Deavor Pick one of your characters and talk about their growth (we recommend choosing an older character, but it’s up to you!) What about their story has surprised you? What are you proud of? How have they changed from their original inception to now? I’m going to talk about Phineas because I’ve had him for the longest and I think he’s the one I’ve been able to spend the most time developing. So basically something I struggled with when I first picked up Phineas was how he deals with people he doesn’t like, because in the show I don’t think he really dislikes anyone. And I feel like this drama with Tony recently has finally helped me crack what Phineas’s deal is when it comes to conflict-- he doesn’t really feel down about it unless he feels like his character is being questioned, and that’s why with Wilbur he’s mostly like whatever while with Tony and Lock (in the past) Phineas has gotten petty and vindictive-- he doesn’t like the role he’s found himself in and he takes that personally if that makes sense. (Also Phineas just way prioritizes his job with Cornelius over getting back at Wilbur, even if he’ll make the occasional jab at Wilbur in Among Us or on Twitter). So that’s been really cool to explore. And I think he’s also gotten a little less finance-bro-y than I originally intended, but I think that side of him will definitely come out once he graduates and goes to uni. I think the thing I’m most proud of with him is kind of maintaining that balance between being totally likeable and fun while also pretty infuriating and obtuse, like he’s a sweet and well-meaning person who’s also really annoying and idk I think I do that balance well.
Pick another character (or the same character if you only have one) and talk a little about where you WANT them to go. What are your plans for them going into the new year? I’m really excited to see where Tiana goes! Ever since I picked her up, I’ve been focused on this goal of getting the restaurant to happen and now that I’ve done that, there are a lot of possibilities. I want to see Tiana burn out from the stress a little bit-- maybe take on more than she can handle because a big part of her arc has been learning to accept help and collaborate with people, and I got to do that a lot with planning Tiana’s Place, but I would also really like to see that continue because those tendencies don’t really go away. I also want LOVE for Tiana even though I keep saying she doesn’t have time for it-- I want her to get a stupid crush that distracts her from work lol I think it could be really fun. And I’m also really excited to keep developing all her friendships, I love all of her Swynlake native connections and PRINCESS HOUSE and other small business owners and now that she really feels like she has put down roots with her restaurant, I want to see her branching out more.
Pick a thread or a plot that you’re proud of and talk about why you loved it. In terms of your own writing, identify 1-3 strengths and talk about why you think it’s one of your strengths. Ok sorry to keep talking about Tiana I promise I have other characters but I’m really proud of all of the different characters I incorporated into the Tiana’s Place opening. My goal was to make a real community effort to show that, no matter how much she wanted to do it on her own, she still has a whole group of people supporting her and who have a stake in it-- from Nuka and Ratigan in the beginning with the financial stuff to Clara and Toulouse and Laszlo with the music/art to Jun and Al for business advice to all the people who donated to the raffle. And the raffle was so fun and I hope people use that for plots!!
I also gotta shout out one more: writing the pirates AU Phineas and Ferb stuff was so much fun and really pushed me as a writer I think. I was a little uneasy going into pirates because action/movement/fights are not my strong suit and I knew there would be a lot of that. But the generated stuff was really helpful in kickstarting some ideas and Sid was so great to work with on that. I thought we got really creative and personally I had so much fun and I hope other people did too.
In terms of strengths for my writing-- I think I’m good with flaws? Like even characters who are really sweet and nice (I’m looking at you Henry) I think I try to show the different sides of them and explore how you can be both really well-meaning and really misguided at the same time. And I think that’s good because it has the potential to cause conflict and drive forward more plots where there’s no clear ~bad guy~ just flawed people trying their best and that’s the most interesting stuff to me. Of course I also love big bads! I think macro plots are really important. I think my niche though is those petty little conflicts and I think I do a good job with them.
I’m adding another too because you know what why not. I think I've gotten pretty creative recently?? Like I’ve done some really weird fun stuff this year-- Henry and Jake’s acapella audition is up there as one of my favorite threads, and I’m really excited about Tiana and Aurora’s fake date and Greg and Q doing Santa’s Workshop and I think Henry’s first open was one of my favorite opens I’ve done. Idk I think one of my insecurities about RP has always been that I worry I don’t bring enough ideas to the table with plotting and I think I’m getting better at letting my brain dream up weird cool stuff.
In terms of your own writing, identify 1-3 areas of improvement.
Like I said, plotting is still something I struggle with-- I spent the majority of my early RP experience in a very gif-chat-heavy open-heavy fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants rp, so coming to BDRP even back during round 1 in 2017, plotting was a big surprise to me. And this is also something that I struggle with in my non-RP writing-- story arc and structure is something I have always wanted to improve. But I think I’m getting better at fleshing out ideas and not putting too much pressure on myself. And I think I’m also getting better at stepping out of my comfort zone and messaging people I don’t write with as often which is important because literally everyone here is so fun and talented! So I want to keep doing that. I know I can be a little shy sometimes (this sounds SO weird I never shut up lol but it’s how I feel) and I don’t want that to hold me back
In terms of actual writing stuff, I’d like to expand my vocabulary a bit more? I think I use certain words and phrasing so often that it annoys me and maybe it annoys no one else and my writing will be worse if I try to throw in unnecessary words but yeah. I think reading more will help with that. And in general I just really want to get better at thinking stuff through and building story arcs.
Pick one of your plots, or even just a character, and come up with a list of 3-5 “mentor texts” where you can look for inspiration or research, then write a short (2-4 sentences) why you picked those texts. (They don’t have to be books, either!)
Ev is the one I feel like I need to do the most development on so here goes!
1. Red White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston, specifically the character Nora
Messy nerd girls! Messy nerd girls! Please recommend me more things with messy nerd girls! Nora is basically Ev’s exterior, the person people know her as. She’s chaotic and fun and relatable, and also kind of a genius.
2. Macbeth, specifically the character Lady Macbeth
This is one I wanna dive into! I’ve seen a heavily abridged version of Macbeth and that’s about it but I have a copy sitting on my desk. I love a villain who likes to stay behind the scenes and pull the strings, and while Ev is in this for “moral reasons” (lol) she’s also in this for #power. I’m not used to playing manipulative villains-- I’m usually more of a henchperson type deal, so the ultimate 4-D chess gal would be some good inspo.
3. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, specifically Professor Quirrell.
Ok I am really sorry to bring Harry Potter into this but I think something that’s important about Ev is that one of the things distracting from her villainy is her vague air of incompetency. We know she’s very smart and she has the whole nutty-professor thing going, but she’s kind of a mess and I want characters to underestimate her. I think Quirrell’s vibe of being nervous about everything is similar to Ev’s messy exterior and I would love a good end-of-the-book villain reveal.  And now, a wishlist! Jot down a few themes or stories or genres etc that you want to maybe pursue in the upcoming year! (i.e. a good ol’ fashion forbidden romance, maybe you want to dig deep into racial identity etc) This doesn’t have to necessarily be attached to any characters or stories you have now– it’s just meant to help you see for yourself what kind of stories call to your heart.
Oooh so many things. Generally more romance-- I always hesitate a little with shipping IDK WHY maybe it’s insecurity about jumping into what always feels like a bit plot to me lol. But I wanna take that plunge more-- especially with Tiana! But I’m pretty much open to stuff with anyone, especially really silly rom-com type stuff. I also think that my shipping niche is super complicated stuff with villains (the irony and craziness of the Henleigh situation is so FASCINATING and FUN and I want MORE OF THAT) so just saying a I’m-flirting-with-you-because-you’re-a-good-ally-to-have-on-my-side-oh-no-I’m-actually-falling-for-you thing with Ev could be really fun (LISTEN her entire tag is just shipping content. I scroll through so much of it so of course it gave me some ideas)
I’m also REALLY jazzed about the uni stuff going on right now. Like I’ve said before, I think college is a really interesting place and so much weird shit happens there because you have all these 18-22 year olds living in close quarters and they come up with weird ways to entertain themselves. The secret santa/RA stuff has me loling every day and I just love stuff like that. Like, I’d love to have shenanigans like people sneaking into dorms and staying up until 3 am in the library and all that stuff. I just love that stuff.
Also I am really trying to do big bad stuff with Ev!! As I have mentioned... plotting and story arcs are a major thing I’m trying to work on, so it’s a lot to think about, but I would really just love to do all kinds of things-- I’d love to have her enable small-time villains, or manipulate people who are easily swayed, or to trick people. It’s a new area for me, but it’s something I’m excited about and I want to challenge myself.
OPTIONAL: Why do you RP?
Because I literally can’t stop apparently lol. No but the thing I love about RP is getting to collaborate on a story and getting surprised by people, getting to geek out about something that I can also participate in, and having NO RULES. I think there’s something really special about having an interest that I can’t monetize or market, that I can do for pure fun out of my love of creating and writing. And I love having a community of people on the ride with me. It’s so much fun and I’m so grateful for you guys!
I always end with a gif so here’s my favorite gif it legit makes me laugh out loud

Top 5 Most Important Videos Businesses Should Make
According to marketingcharts.com, there is no sign of a decline in online video consumption within the next few years. That is just one of the numerous reasons why you should stick—or if you are not there yet, shift—to video marketing.
Videos are really popular nowadays. With 1 billion hours of YouTube content being watched a day, we can’t deny that we do need it and the content that they provide. Truly, videos have already consumed our lives—especially in this time of Global pandemic—to the point that we have forgotten how it’s like without them.
So why do businesses need video marketing?
Videos are really convenient and efficient. When you have access to the internet, you also have access to millions of videos online! With that said, it is a great way to promote your brand’s values to the public. By watching a brand’s video, 84% of people said that they were convinced to buy a product or service.
Videos are easy to grasp. It gives the audience an actual picture of what the product or service is all about. They help in increasing user understanding of the product or service as said by 94% of video marketers. Instead of laying down a flat and boring picture, why not make it more entertaining and engaging through videos?
Potentially, videos can give you a huge return on investment or ROI. Sounds good, right? To back that up, a study conducted by Wyzowl showed that videos have directly helped increase 78% of video marketers’ sales. Mainly, videos give them a good return on investment as disclosed by 87% of video marketers.
So, do you use videos to promote your business? Or are you using them already?
Regardless of your answer, below are five of the most important videos you should make to grow your company and build trust.
1. Vlog
Blogging is one of the renowned tactics in content marketing strategies. With a blog, you can publish a wide variety of contents without even sweating! However, not everyone is really fond of reading; and admit it or not, even you prefer something that’s more engaging, right? This is where vlogging comes in. The concept of vlogging is very simple: it’s just blogging but in a video form. Does that sound fun? Yes! More and more businesses are resorting to vlogging these days. Why? Vlogging is cheap and it’s very easy to shoot a short vlog. All you need is a smartphone and a neatly written script on the back of the scratch paper. That’s it!
With vlogging, you need to keep in mind that the production doesn’t need to cost millions! Vlogs offer your business an economical platform that allows you to voice your brand uniquely and create a respectable image that evokes your target market. What’s an award-winning production if it fails to deliver the message your business is supposed to convey? Vlogging is easy but you need to make sure that you are keeping the appeal of the video content.
If you’re fond of watching YouTube videos like me, I think you’ve seen celebrities, artists, athletes, public figures, entrepreneurs, and a lot more doing this for years. Videos are extremely powerful! It’s great if you want to build a solid, transparent, and lasting relationship with your audiences.
2. Live Video
Have you heard of live streaming on Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube? If you have, you must love authenticity! Live videos promote trust and realness. It is also one of the most efficient ways to build the image of your brand. They are like a bridge that fills the gap between your business and your customers as well as your possible customers. Imagine building deeper connections with people through the screen, that’s awesome!
Consumers buy products or services based on their likes and what they trust, but it isn’t easy to build trust. It will take a lot of days or even years but through live videos, you have the opportunity to fortify trust with the consumers. Be real and interview your company’s employees, live! You can even dive deeper and invite influencers or people that are relevant to your niche and have a real-time conversation that appeals to your target market.
Through live videos, you can publicly exhibit your company’s methods, transparency, and accountability to customers and in the long run, find new loyal customers!
3. Behind-the-scenes
What makes your company stand out? What makes your business different from the rest? Is there something that sets your company apart from its competitors? What’s your company like?
These are the questions that you have to consider when making this video. Undeniably, we all love stories! Who doesn’t? Storytelling is considered as one of the most powerful communication tools.
Behind-the-scenes videos are like the doors to your company’s very soul. It’s being naked in front of your customers as well as your potential customers. This kind of video allows your brand to forge connections with people. Through narratives, the storyteller, which is your company in this case, can build rock-hard relationships with their target market and trigger the desired response.
This is kind of like the live video—the only difference is that this one’s recorded. You can go from what your employees’ personalities are like, your office design, how your team interacts with each other, and how your day goes by as part of a company. This fully depends on you! It doesn’t matter how you do it. It doesn’t matter which path you take. What matters is your goal: to showcase the nature of your workplace as well as the character of your team. Do not drift from your purpose!
4. How-to Videos
Most people are curious about how to do this and that. We all love to learn new things and if you come and teach everybody that, people will surely love and appreciate you! One of the best things about videos is that it makes it easier and faster to learn! Aside from that, videos also make almost everything fun and exciting!
Put quality tutorials that focus on helping people rather than solely promoting and soft-selling products or services! People would definitely know if you’re being of help or you’re just selling them out. Learn your consumers’ trust and it will possibly lead to sales!
5. Product Review
If you ask marketers what’s the most helpful video there is in the marketing world, they would answer product reviews! This is mainly helpful in the consideration phase of a customer journey.
A consumer review is actually more trusted and relied on by prospect customers more than the manufacturer or company’s product description. By product reviews, doubts are dispelled and show consumers the benefits that your products or services offer. It is one of the million ways to provide proof they need to make decisions that they will never regret!
Conclusion
To wrap things up, below are the five most important videos businesses should make:
Vlog
Live Video
Behind-the-Scenes
How-to Videos
Product Review
It’s already 2021! If you’re still not using video content as your marketing strategy, then you’re falling behind! Your brand is missing out on the opportunity to engage with your consumers. Plus, you’re seriously losing footings against your competitors! What are you waiting for? Step up your marketing strategy, try video marketing!
Always consider your brand, your goals, and your target market when making video content. Offer quality videos to your audience! Do not drift from your purpose, that’s what matters the most.

How To Create A Profitable Niche Blog Using WordPress
How do bloggers create blogs from scratch and sell them for as much as $20,000 and sometimes even millions of dollars? Some niche bloggers even make thousands of dollars every day from their blogs.
How do they do it? How can you get into this business? Can you create a successful niche blog without taking big risks?
Of course, you can!
Creating a niche blog is not difficult. But, to make a profitable niche blog, you need to follow a few simple (yet important) steps to make sure you get started the right way.
First, let’s cover the basics and figure out what these niche blogs really are.
What Is A Niche Blog?
A niche blog is not a special kind of a blog. Just like any other blog, it’s a website where you create and publish articles to share information. The only difference is that niche blogs are created to target very specific audiences.
For example, HeadPhones Addict is a popular blog that covers articles and reviews about nothing but headphones and accessories. Nothing else!
Now you might think: Who reads about headphones? Why not write about smartphones or how to make money online? More reads about those topics. Well, the main reason is those industries are too crowded. The Internet has enough blogs and websites talking about Android and iPhones. We don’t want more.
However, if you pick a niche topic. Like “Best Backpacks For Travel”, you’ll have a better chance at creating a successful blog that gets ranked higher on Google and build a loyal following around your blog.
Different Ways To Monetize A Niche Blog
Niche blogs are also easier to monetize. You can use several different methods to monetize a niche blog as well.
Advertising
Affiliate Marketing
Sponsored Articles
Promoting Brands and Products
And more
When someone searches for “Best Backpacks For Travel” on Google, discover an article from your site and read about a great backpack you promote, the reader will not hesitate to buy it. Because when all you do is talk about backpacks on your blog, the reader sees you as an expert on the topic.
And when they buy something through your affiliate link, you make a profit as well. Of course, there are many other ways to monetize a niche blog. You can figure those out later. Let’s start by creating a blog.
Step 1: Find A Profitable Niche/Market
Even if you have a great idea for a blog, you need to make sure that there’s a market for that niche. To see if people actually search for information in those industries and learn about the monetization methods available for that industry.
Go to Google Trends and type in a few keywords related to your industry. For example, let’s say you want to see if travel backpacks are a good industry to blog about.
Searching for “travel backpack” on Google Trends will allow you to see how many searches have been made over the past few years for that specific keyword. This graph will also help you determine whether the interest in your industry is growing or falling.
Step 2: Do Your Keyword Research
Now, you need to figure out how much competition there is for your niche and industry.
You can do this by visiting Google’s Keyword Planner tool. Type in one or many keywords and search terms related to your niche to see whether you have a low or high competition to deal with.
Usually, the low competitive keywords with 100-1000 searches per month are the best for targeting. You should create your content around those keywords.
Step 3: Setup Your Website
Now it’s time to setup your blog. This is the fun part of the entire process. Here’s what you need to do:
Get A Domain Name: You can buy a domain name from Name.com.
Sign Up For Web Hosting: Bluehost treat for WordPress web hosting.
Find The Perfect Theme: Check out our collection of free and premium themes.
Step 4: Create In-Depth Content
Google loves long articles. In fact, Google gives better exposure on search results for long articles with in-depth content.
Use this to your advantage. Create long-form articles to offer valuable information to your readers while also increasing your chances of getting on top of Google search results.
Step 5: Build Links And Improve SEO
Building backlinks to your website is the hardest part of optimizing your website for search engines. This requires a lot of work, like guest blogging on other websites, sharing links on social media, or even paying for websites to link to your blog.
You should also optimize each of your blog posts for SEO as well. Since your site is built with WordPress, you can use a plugin like Yoast SEO to do that quite easily.
Over To You
It’s an amazing feeling you get when you start building a new blog, doing the research, finding themes, and everything. But, the key to making your blog successful is keeping that motivation up and running while you create amazing content for your blog.
So, keep creating great content and building backlinks. As long as you follow the right steps, you will reach success, eventually.

That means you can Drive Non-Stop Traffic To Any Product Or Service For Passive Sales & Commissions 24/7, 365 Days a Year — 100% Hands Free via… Mobile, Tabs, Pads, Laptops, Desktops etc. But Here Is The Problem Not All Affiliate Marketing Solutions Are Created Equal. If you plan to create Affiliate Sites through 3rd party platforms? You’ve tried recurring-charging website builders and they were slow loading — meaning that your visitors and traffic leave before they could ever see your offer and thus, you don’t make any money. You tried to hire a developer but got frustrated because they wanted to charge you heavy fees for website building and more for adding your affiliate products and the design was still low quality.
Overall, this turned out to be a disaster. Or You pay hundreds of dollars to website building agencies those are not optimized; whose servers are the absolute worst? It’s downright frustrating because you get pauper service for a premium price. Yeah, a lot of people fall victim to that, too. Or Maybe… Just Maybe, You Let Building A Website Intimidate You.
Also, they can’t ignore the Big Learning Curve to get knowledge or expertise on marketing, designing, coding & testing to build a high-converting affiliate website. These are some of the major reasons that made 85% of the entrepreneurs leave their business in dreams or within just first year of starting. But Not Anymore. Proudly Introducing Ziliate.

Top 10 Things You Shouldn’t Do If You Want to Finish Your Thesis On Time
It’s my entry for September! I’ve been busy in consuming new music, films, and kvariety episodes in my effort to catch up on everything. So, I decided to post monthly to fulfill my oversharing Tumblr needs and to exercise my skills in writing in English and putting thoughts into coherent words.
TL;DR of this: things I’ve done instead of doing my thesis for the past year and a half. I’m not romanticizing my not doing thesis self for the past 21 months, but I’m also not dissuading you from doing other stuff besides thesis because god knows, you will need something.
1. Got a part-time job. This was the first new thing I’ve done that really took my time and effectively gave me no time to do thesis. And yet, this was the most rewarding thing as I learned how to get my TIN, accomplish my deliverables, answer to my superiors etc. Looking back, I wasn’t the best employee and I deserved no job offers on the same company after. But still, it was a stepping stone in the right direction. Adulting-wise, anyway.
2.  Discover the art of creating.
Journal spreads. I bought a 2019 planner and I couldn’t fill it up, so I decided to turn it into a journal-planner. The art materials I used for to design pages are from old supplies bought back when I was in high school or stickers from the fandom-related events I attended. I didn’t spend money and I was given a chance to be creative.
Sew doll clothes. In K-pop, dolls that look like your idol exists. It usually comes with one set of clothes to dress it. As a “doll mother”, I wanted to dress them with new clothes but buying clothes was expensive. So, I just sewed clothes for them. I made clothes from scrap fabrics or clothes no one wears in our household. I’ve been barely successful, but it’s one of the things that keep me happy and make me feel like I’ve succeeded in one measly part of my life.
3. Purged my online files.
From my high school files. Nostalgia has been one of my coping mechanisms. I was able to be provided by lots of it when I discovered that I didn’t lose my high school files and it was on my mom’s laptop all along. Being able to relive memories while organizing my files was the best hours of that day.
To my external hard drives. Since 2016, I have been a hoarder of online files for so long that I have two EHDs to prove it. This time though, I was able to delete content that was either repetitive or uninteresting anymore. I was able to shave off some of my data bytes and am now able to save new interesting content available online (if I ever find one).
4. Realigned my priorities and consumption of K-pop as a stan and as a person by:
Selling 3/4 of my merch. Unlearning the pride that comes with owning K-pop merch was difficult, but overtime, I have been proud of myself for not falling to the traps of capitalism—at least in K-pop. Also! I was able to buy my own concert tickets with the stuff I sold so it is a win!
Joining giveaways instead. No matter how I can avoid the urge to buy K-pop merch, I still can’t help but want to own them. This is where I discovered how joining giveaways was my next best option. It takes a lot of effort and screenshots to win these things. However, if and when you win, it really feels like winning against the odds. You get free merch too!
Actually spent hours to vote and stream. In relation to the last point, since the main requirement in giveaways I’ve joined are voting/streaming proofs, I have been one of those people who collects points on voting apps or has a playlist of music videos that should be streamed. After collecting and/or streaming, I take screenshots, put watermarks there, and tags mutuals if needed. It’s relatively hard work but there’s a feeling of pride when your idol wins the poll or an MV reaches a certain amount of views and you know you participated in making that happen.
5. Rediscover Youtube. Channels like the vlogbrothers and their associates (Crash Course, Pemberley Digital among others), Buzzfeed’s shows (The Try Guys, Ladylike, Buzzfeed Unsolved) were a delight to watch after being out of the Youtube loop for so long. The platform also offered new niches of content and I allowed myself to be sucked in it. From Simply Nailogical to Ask A Mortician to amazing pop culture video essays like Lindsay Ellis and Jenny Nicholson, Youtube has all it for you! Learning something new every day is one of my favorite things and I get to do it with this website.
6. Rediscover my love of writing. (As if I’ve written anything for my thesis but here.)
Made drabbles. There is a weekly activity on my fandom where we write < 500 word drabbles on any pairings. I have been joining when I can, and through the support of the (small) community (back then), I gained confidence to write one. I’ve written at least four now and I’ve not done yet because I’ve been on a slump lately. But I’ll get back to it soon!
Short story. The same account that brought the drabble challenge created a festival where we write a pairing and write a short story with it. I decided to join the event! Not going to lie, my entry was shit, It was the first draft, it needed a lot of revisions and more constructive criticism and yet, I am still proud of it. It was the first creative fiction I wrote since 2019 and I did it in a day. And, I believe it has potential, so I’m going to review and revise the hell out of it someday.
7. Reclaim my college days.
Reconnected with orgmates. Visiting Elbi for registration and consultation purposes are brightened up by the fact that I get to do this. My first four years of college were not kind to me. I’ve forgotten a lot of things because of trauma and deep sadness that I still have until this day, and when I remember good things, they’re few and far in between. The numbered days I was in Elbi during 2019 were also few and far in between, but they were infinitely better than my academic years from 2015 to 2017. I was able to do the things I wasn’t able to do before (mostly attending Happy Ts and eating in newly-opened food places there) and I get to do it with people I love.
Made friends. One of the drawbacks of being a slot-driven student with no care of my coursemates’ schedules: I didn’t get to establish a friend group. So I didn’t get to make friends. During this time, I’ve accepted that I didn’t have any friends outside my organizations. But this time, instead of a feeling of dread of being that cliché orgmate, I feel relief and happiness because now, I realize that I do have friends from college, unlike the 2015-2017 who didn’t have anyone in college to rely on her darkest times.
8. Appreciated my friends more. For the past few years, I was the shitty friend. I agreed to go on hangouts only to message them that I’m backing out the last minute—sometimes I even straight up ghosted them. I really took my friends for granted. I have been slowly making it up to them by always attending when there’s an invite! I sometimes initiate the invite and it’s always a fun and healing time for me (it was a literal healing time for me as I was depressed during that time). I love them and I’m always thankful for them—and more so now than before.
 9. Unlearning things like:
Realizing that a priv (a private account meant to be seen by your mutuals you trust; usually contains unpopular opinions and hot takes on stan twitter) only encourages negative emotions and I must not do it again.
No matter how I tried rationalizing my hate for Jennie when the JenKai dating news happened, I was one of those K-pop stans who hated her because she dated my idol. (I have moved on past that and have started liking her and Rose.)
Knowing that attacking people for what they say won’t make them unlearn their wrong opinions. Not talking down at them and educating with patience is the key, always.
There are still so much more I unlearned and learned where those came from. My main takeaway is: it’s complicated.  Sometimes our opinion needs a more nuanced perspective and sometimes it needs to scrapped entirely because it was just wrong. But it is essential so we, as people, won’t be stuck with outdated views of the world.
10.   Learning something new like:
Practicing how to do Tzuyu’s helicopter hands until I realized it wasn’t meant for me.
Utilizing Omegle to look for potential quaranflings.
Installing Telegram and uninstalling to ghost quaranflings.
How to do laundry in compliance with my mother’s preferences.
Doing two things at once.
Enough patience to take time and read the laws our government makes every day to know what I’m fighting against.
Optimizing my Twitter lists and now I can keep up with current affairs (that takes a toll on my mental health) then scroll through a fic fest-centric list the next (that helps me forget the stress from reading news).
Learning something new every day has become one of my life goals. Knowing that the world always has something new to offer to me, a speck in this universe, warms me up and keeps me going. And you’ll never know where the new tidbits will lead you. Maybe it’ll help you reconnect with something you’ve known before, maybe it’ll change how you see things, or maybe it’s something new that once explored, it will contribute something new to the community. It may seem small and unimportant but with a tweak in perspective, it might be something worth doing and pursuing.
Looking back at my list, I can finally see how if I didn’t do all these things, I would have probably finished my thesis by now and probably working a full-time job, able to provide the financial needs for my family. There will always be regret that I am still not done until now. But stressing over my current predicament in this time when the world is in its most stressful state yet won’t help me. So, we soldier on and hopefully, hopefully get back to the thesis I’ve been meaning to do.
 Let’s get it.
